History of Legion Live

Legion Live was The Royal British Legion’s online community, a site set up for the public to share their thoughts and first impressions of the Legion.

In order to celebrate the people that make our work possible day after day, the site was created to everyone together under one roof, and also provide them with the tools to connect and interact with each other. The doors were open to Legion fundraisers, supporters, staff, members of the Armed Forces and the general public.

The Royal British Legion

The Royal British Legion is the nation’s leading Armed Forces charity, providing care and support to all members of the British Armed Forces past and present and their families. It is also the national Custodian of Remembrance and safeguards the Military Covenant between the nation and its Armed Forces. It is best known for the annual Poppy Appeal and its emblem, the red poppy.

Moment of Silence to Remembers

A host of celebrities including Dan Stevens from Downton Abbey and Vincent Simone & Flavia Cacace from Strictly Come Dancing joined The Royal British Legion for their Silence in the Square event in Trafalgar Square to mark Armistice Day.
This year the event was once again streamed live via the web to a global audience with people tuning in from places as far afield as Australia, India and also Afghanistan.
