AI is one of the most divisive types of technology in recent years and LEGO Ideas will have no part of it. LEGO has updated their rules and guidelines to prohibit the use of AI-generated images for LEGO Ideas submissions. LEGO wants you to actually build out your ideas and if you you need help, you can use Studio to build it digitally.

This isn’t the first time that LEGO has been mentioned alongside AI. A few years ago, they were caught using AI for a Ninjago character quiz. Last year, there was a job listing for an generative AI internship which got taken down after more backlash.

It looks like there’s one more LEGO related panel that will be in San Diego Comic Con 2026 next week and it revolves around Star Trek. Variety is reporting that in the Star Trek: The Collector Frontier panel, they will be showcasing some upcoming launches from two iconic fan favorite toy companies and one of them will be LEGO alongside Magic: The Gathering.

We’re not sure if LEGO will be just showing off the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D (10356) or if they will be revealing a brand new set which is rumored to be the Enterprise Bridge. Whatever it is, it’ll be on Thursday, July 23 from 11am-12pm PDT in Room 5AB.

LEGO has officially revealed the return of LEGO SpongeBob SquarePants sets with a few new ones coming this September. With this morning’s announcement of the LEGO Ideas La Catrina (21372), there been quite some change in the list of projects that are still under development. In the past few weeks, we had the release of the Sea Serpent (40912) gift with purchase set as well as the reveal of E.T. The Extra Terrestrial (21370) but there’s still a lot more to look forward to.
