Easter Holiday Scheme!

We are now taking bookings for our Easter Holiday Scheme. We will be open from Monday 2nd April-Thursday 5th April and Tuesday 10th April-Friday 13th April. If you book before 9th March you will get 10% off your booking!

Timetables for both weeks and the booking form can be found on the website in the Holiday Scheme section. We are hoping to have our Summer Holiday Scheme up and ready to start taking bookings at Easter so watch this space!!!

We are now taking bookings for our February Half Term Holiday Scheme. The dates are from the 13th February-17th February 2012. A timetable of activities for the week is available along with the the booking forms on our Holiday Scheme page.

Saturday Club is Changing!

Due to the growing popularity of both our Saturday Club and our Public sessions, we have decided to rebrand both under the same new title of

The Adventure Club

Membership to The Adventure Club is £3 per year, however you do not have to be a member to attend an activity session. Prices for members will remain as they are for 2012, £6 for a 90 minute session and £14 for a 3 hour session. However, prices for non-members will go up to £7 for 90 minutes and £16 for 3 hours.

Under 8's are now welcome! Previously, all activities have only been available for children aged 8 and over. We would like to offer younger children the opportunity to come along and have a go at climbing or archery. However they must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Sundays! During the summer there will now be something on offer every day of the week, as we will be running Adventure Club activities on Sundays.

Canoe Litter Pick Team

LOPC's New River Litter Pick Team

LOPC is now recruiting for litter pickers to come and enjoy canoeing while helping to clean up the River Soar. It is completely free to join and there is no obligation once you have joined to attend every meeting. We just want enthusiastic volunteers to come along help pick some of the rubbish that plagues our river.

We will be looking to meet up every few months to spend a few hours just trying to get rid of the mountains of rubbish that finds it's way into the river.

Our first litter pick will be 28th January 12:30 to 3:30.

Children from Chernobyl Visit LOPC

Saturday 17th September 2011 saw a group of 10 young people from Chernobyl visited the Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre. They came from social situations where it is difficult to get the care and attention they require. They arrived undernourished and shabby and stayed with Host Families for a month. It is believed that by being shown some love and attention, being well fed and experiencing a good life, they return to Belarus with hope and the possibility of extending their lives by some 5 years.

James has been attending LOPC for about 2 years now. This year I have been especially impressed by your flexibility and reliability. It has allowed me to do my job well, which requires me to be flexible. I've had peace of mind knowing that James had been picked up from school and has had an active afternoon with no Nintendo or television in sight!

Scheduled Road Works 9th April

There will be Road Works on the Loughborough Road between Thurcaston Road and Redhill Way (One way system) for drain connection outside number 350.

This will begin Saturday 9th April 2011 and is expected to last until 15th April 2011.

In order to carry out the works safely there will be a one way system in place from Thurcaston Road towards Redhill Way (outbound). The inbound carriageway will be close from Redhill Roundabout.

All Diversions will be signed.

Outdoor Climbing Experience

On the 17th April will be running a trip to Markfield Quarry, participants will experience a range of climbing routes from beginner to the more advanced and also experience abseiling on a real crag.

Time: 10:00am - 3:00pm. Cost will be £40 per person payable at the time of booking.
There are only 10 spaces available for this experience so please call us on 0116 2681426 in advance to book your place and avoid disappointment.

No experience is required however previous climbing experience would be an advantage.
