As a parent, I’m always on the lookout for activities that are both fun and educational for my boy. I want to talk about something that's been on my mind for a while now and that’s how to teach our kids about healthy eating in a way that's not just informative but also fun. In my opinion it’s important to start while they are still little.

Children are always curious, they love it when they're engaged and having a good time. So, why not make learning about nutrition exciting?

I've always had a passion for cooking even though I don’t have much time for it. Also, when I cook or bake, I need a conversion calculator because I never have the right thing to measure the ingredients in. I prefer to measure with spoons because I find it the easiest, that’s why I usually need to convert from cups to spoons. Recently, I stumbled upon a cool website which has many useful calculators. But that's not all, the website has something special for kids too – food games!

My son had been dealing with a weight issue, which prompted me to make some changes in our family's eating habits and playing the food games is not only fun but teaches him what’s good for him and what’s bad.

Our absolute favorites are "Veggie Friends" and "Tasty Kingdom". In “Veggie friends” you can simply click on different vegetables and you’re told what kind of vitamins they contain and what the vitamins are good for. I find that really interesting and informative myself. We even found some cool recipes on the site, like "Hot Dog and Spaghetti Creatures".

“Tasty Kingdom“ is a bit more challenging because if you don’t play fast enough you loose but it is still fun for my 7 year old. One of the ways it teaches kids to be healthy is by warning against bad food like fast food and promoting good food like apples. It also tells them which disease can be prevented by eating the good food.

These games are not just fun; they're like secret agents, teaching our kids about the good and not-so-good foods undercover. What's more, they explain the "why" behind it all. It's learning by playing which in my opinion is the best kind of learning! The beauty of it is that the kids are soaking up knowledge without even realizing it.

My son, has not only started eating healthier but has also become a mini-nutritionist among his friends. He talks to them about the benefits of good food and advises against too much fast food. So cute, I’m so proud of him.

Hope your year has started good. I have made many plans for this year, and I’m hoping I can accomplish all that I’ve set my mind to.

I believe this year will be different than the last with many changes, except some things don’t have to change like my shopping habits lol.

I try to spend my free time learning new things and doing stuff that activates my brain. So, lately during my break at work or my evenings at home, I have been playing a lot of Solitaire and Hidden Object Games.

I had no idea Solitaire could be so much fun. When I start playing all the people around me suddenly wanna have their turn and play too, it’s so addicting.

So I’m writing from Croatia again. I am on a short vacation and what I can’t do without is some pretty Femme Luxe items. They always have something what no one else has, and they add new items very often.

At least this Covid-19 situation made me appreciate the little things so much more. Like before many of us took so much for granted or never realized that some simple things like meeting with friends or going to the movies could be just taken away from us in a day.

I have recently moved into a new apartment and love decorating. I'm always looking for some new and interesting items to add. I think I'm going to start writing more about this subject and showing you my new home items, I hope they will be an inspiration for you.

I have searched for the right curtains a long time. I just didn't know which to get and what style I really wanted my bedroom to be. I didn't want them to thick, and I didn't want them to thin. I also wanted a color that goes with everything. At last I decided to get linen curtains. I love the natural vibe and I like the color oatmeal natural as well which matches with everything. I think my style is something between shabby chic and luxury.

Netflix and Femme Luxe

I've been wishing for some nicer weather to come, so I can wear all my Femme Luxe outfits, but it's still raining every day. Glad I have a lot of pretty tracksuits that I can wear while binging all the new shows on Netflix. I just need some sunshine now to wear my two pieces like the neon green one which is super pretty and my corset tops.

The last show I watched was El Inocente with Mario Casas who is by the way totally hot, and I would have watched it even if it wasn't good but it was amazing. I Would tell you what it's about if it wasn't so complicated, and I don't want to spoil anything. Very interesting story with such good acting from everyone.

Now, I'm so ready to see the 5th season of Outlander, one of my favorite shows. The story follows Claire Randall who travels back in time to 1743 and has many exciting adventures there like falling in love with Jamie Fraser. It's based on the novel series by Diana Gabaldon. I wanted to read the books too, but I just can't find the time for it at the moment. I love romantic, fantasy and especially historical fiction shows and movies.

I grew up in Orlando, Florida and I think it's the best place to invest in a property. Florida's population grew 14,6 % in the last decade. People are constantly moving to the Sunshine State because of the beautiful weather, growing economy and the low taxes make things even better. In addition there was not a harsh lockdown like everywhere else. Florida is open and welcoming people.

In other states many people had to close their businesses due to the lockdown, but they opened them again in Florida, thus creating new jobs for Floridians. The number of unemployed is at a record low, and the salaries are rising, further the minimum wage is said to be $15 per hour by 2026.

Renting or buying a home?

Renting a house is a good option if you don't want to be tied to a property. You don't have to worry about making any repairs by yourself or paying much upfront except the security deposit. The disadvantage is that you can't change the interior or exterior according to your taste.

When you buy a house one of the good things is that you can change the things that you don't like, but you have to pay for any repairs yourself.

There are a lot of hurricanes in Florida, so make sure you have good insurance. The great thing is that you can pay it off, or you can sell the house and it's likely that you will make a profit from it in the long run. In my opinion in Florida it's always better to buy than to rent.

I intend to purchase a house in Orlando again someday. Even if I don't plan to live there full time, I find that investing in a property is a great idea from which you can profit in the long haul. It is a stable economy with lots of opportunities.

I've been looking at some homes, just browsing around and trying to figure out what I can afford. I am using the minimum income requirement and monthly payment calculators. which make everything so much easier for me. There are so many different calculators to choose from and every time I see a potential property I just type the info in and they do all the work. They are a lifesaver.

Right now there is a big demand which has caused the prices to climb. The interest rates are low therefore the housing market is booming. It is a great time to sell a house, that's why many people are selling their homes this year, but buying new ones too. The properties are selling extremely fast and the inventory is very low.

It’s Sunday and the weather in Germany is horrible. It’s been bad for a while now. Also, a lockdown is still in place, and I have the feeling as If it’s been going on forever. These are the times when I miss Florida and the sunshine there. Loved being able to wear light clothing and dresses all the time. At least when the stores and restaurants are closed you could still go and spend some time at the beach, pool or the beautiful parks. I find the nature here very uninteresting and dull.

I’m feeling very lazy today, and I am in the mood for some documentary programs. Have you watched any good ones recently? I’m watching Origins on Disney + and find it very interesting. It’s really cool to see how human kind has evolved over the centuries, and it’s also amazing to see how many things for example wars have unfortunately not changed at all.

Signs You’re in a Relationship with a Narcissist

I finally decided to share a bit of my story for the sole reason to raise awareness and to help anyone in an abusive relationship. Many can’t even tell they are being abused, because the narcissist is a great manipulator.

I was married to one, and I didn’t realize until recently that he is the perfect example of a narcissist. During my marriage I have totally changed as a person, and life felt like walking on eggshells. I was constantly scared of how he would react to things or if all of a sudden he is in a bad mood and would start to yell around slamming doors in the middle of the night.

Of course, there are also some good moments in a relationship with a narcissist but also as many sleepless nights and days spent living in fear, never knowing when to expect an aggressive outburst. He destroyed most of my belongings when he found out I was thinking of leaving him.

To this day many of our mutual friends and family don’t believe or understand when I tell them about the abuse, only the few that witnessed it. I don’t think you can really explain narcissistic abuse to people, and they can’t understand it fully unless they have experienced it themselves.

Mental abuse is equally bad as physical abuse. The first step is to realize that you’re in a relationship with a narcissist. Also, keep in mind that they will most likely never change, and they are not capable of love.

A narcissist will never let you go. As soon as he sees you’re trying to get away he will start a smear campaign. Even after you leave he'll contact anyone you know and tell them bad things about you. He wants to get you emotional and make everyone believe that they are the victim. You can’t talk to him and tell him you’re leaving or expect to remain friends. If you want to leave a narcissist, my advice is: Don’t say anything just run.

It's your Fault

What a narcissist does is: He blames you for everything that he does wrong. He twists the words around; at the end of the conversation you start to doubt yourself and think: Maybe it was all my fault. No, it’s not your fault. Always, remember that.

Reactive Abuse

They provoke you, love to see your reaction, enjoy to see you mad and unhappy. Don’t give them a reaction because then you become the abuser and they the victim, that is exactly what they want.

Plays the Victim

Behaves differently in private than in public. People think they are perfect and can’t imagine what they are like behind closed doors.

Always play the victim, and everybody believes them. It looks like it’s always your fault.

Pathological Liar

Lies even about the smallest and unnecessary things. Will never admit anything. When you confront them, they get aggressive and start making you look crazy.

Mood Swings and Rage

When things don’t go their way, they start to threaten you and even get physical. Of course, you get blamed again, and later they act like nothing happened.

Gaslighting

Make you feel insecure, doubt your feelings and your memory. It comes to the point where you ask yourself if a situation even happened or if you imagined it. They convince you that you cause their aggression.

Bullying

Tell you you’re nothing without them, and no one will love you like they do. Verbal abuse.

Sense of Entitlement

Think you owe them everything and very highly of themselves . Often destroy your belongings. Jealous.

Slowly isolates you from your family and friends. Doesn’t want you to have contact with people. Gets mad if you pay anyone attention. Doesn't want you to work or to educate yourself any further. Destroy and undermine your dreams.

Lack of Feelings

No feelings or empathy for others. No interest for people or you in general. Narcissist see everyone as objects. They don't feel remorse or guilt for their actions and only need people who they can benefit from.

So guys, here in Germany the people are still mostly at home as many things are still closed because of the lockdown. How is it where you are at ? Do you agree with a lockdown or do you think it’s unnecessary? I think it would be sufficient to just keep a distance and follow the rules. It makes no sense for me that some shops are allowed to open and some not. Also a boutique which complies with the rules must close and a tanning studio or hairstylist can keep working. Right now we have started opening up slowly but the shops are only open with appointments. I must say that I don’t like that idea because what fun is it if you can’t just go out and spontaneously decide where to shop?

I really hope that things are going to get back to normal pretty soon even though it doesn’t look to promising at the moment. Also the opinions are so split about this COVID situation. I’m not really sure what to think either and whether to believe that all this is for the best. What do you think?
