Should I get eyelash extentons?

I have been wondering if i shouldget some kinda them and follow the pack and get myself some eyelash exstentions.. Well, I finally took that leap and .... OH goshy!! this is the best thing ; Can you say goody? just easy peasy goodeyelashes. make sure to go to a good place.

~~QUESTION:~~ "My friend was allergic to them, her eyes swelled and she had to rip them off. Will that happen to me?"
ANSWER: 99% of the time you are not allergic to eyelashes. But it does come down to the application process, if the tech glues one syntheti...c lash to one natural lash (the way it suppose to be applied) you will not have any trouble. If one synthetic lash is applied to more than one natural lash it will start to tug on your natural eyelashes causing your eyes to swell, itch and burn.

QUESTION: how often do I need to get them redone?
~~ANSWER:~~ you should never have to get them completely redone. If you keep up on the fills. Lashes are similar to your hair. You shed a certain amount of lashes per week. You then grow a baby lash in its place. So every 2-4 weeks you can go in in and they will do a fill.

Hi guys! I'm so excited to be guest blogging for Leilani. Working at the salon has taught me so many things, introduced me to so many new people &'a lot of amazing beauty tips! I've always been a creative person. I love fun ideas-- especially designs that fit a person so well. I've included two sets of nails I've had done;both are ideas that are so fitting for my personality. Even better-- the experience I had getting my nails done here with Diana . Don't get me wrong-- I've had my nails done before. A LOT. But I never knew that there would be such a huge difference in the WAY they were done. Little changes, such as dipping the nail brush into the liquid acrylic. THAT'S A REALLY BAD THING! Liquid acrylic is really bad for your skin. It can actually end up making you become allergic to the acrylic. So if you're going to someone else where you notice them doing it-- demand that they STOP. You're the customer; don't worry about offending them. If they aren't doing the right thing to take care of you, then you better speak up. Also-- if they're wearing a mask over their mouth &'nose-- BAD SIGN. What are they afraid of breathing in, if it's okay for you to? That usually means that they're using illegal product. Something that is bad for you to breath in. &'then there is time. A good set of acrylic nails should take about two(2) hours to do. NOT 30 minutes. If it's to be done right, it takes that amount of time. Does this sound like a salon you're going too? If it is, I'd suggest going to another salon. This effects YOUR body. Make sure you know before you go. I found a gorgeous set of nails online; when I clicked the photo, it took me to a "horror story" about one women's experience with "assembly line" acrylics. I'll be posting the link, so be sure you check it out. One of the last things I want to mention about my experiencwith Diana at the salon-- the atmosphere. The conversation. If I'm going to be spending two hours at the salon, I want to be able to have a conversation with the person doing my nails! Besides.. I have secrets I need to tell someone. Then there is the fun of P E D I C U R E S. I have noticed a HUGE difference in the way a Diana White does pedicures or... U.S.A Nails(Salt Lake City, UT) does. For starters-- When I walked in to U.S.A. Nails to get a full set &' a pedicure. I was "assembly lined" through my full set, &'then ushered off to get my pedi. A big thing about getting pedicures is how they clean the pedicure tubs. Personally, I HATE feet. So when you think about all the fungi that feet can carry, they better damn well clean out that pedicure tub EXTREMELY well. At U.S.A, they took a spray bottle, sprayed the tub down &'then wiped it clean. Seems legit, right? WRONG. HELLO! How do the jets get clean? How do I know if the tools are sanitized? And what is in that spray bottle? Those are BIG things. At Leilani, they add an additional 15 minutes before &'after every pedicure to clean the tubs &'the tools. They have cleaner especially ordered for pedicure tubs; they fill the tubs with the jets running so not only does the tub get clean, the jets do too. &'while they fill the tub to be cleaned, they throw the tools in with the cleaner. &'you can watch them do it! What a reassuring feeling, knowing that that tub is clean, the tools are sanitized &'I can enjoy my pedi without the stress of wondering if I'm going to contract athletes foot or something! Once again, KNOW BEFORE YOU GO.

Its the first of December and it's been getting cold!

But your feet shouldn't take a beating because of it, I love wearing my open-toed slippers to show off my toes while still staying warm in these cold winter months!

Glitter toes, or a pedicure can take the "blah" out of these snowy months, and can be really relaxing to get done too.

I love being able to look down at my feet and have them look really cute for the holidays, and just for when I'm lounging around the house!

But be careful where you get your pedicures done, because if they do not clean their tools properly it can give you a fungus and cause permanent damages to your feet and legs. We pride ourselves in giving the best pedicures possible and promise you won't walk away unhappy.

This year expect to see a lot of Ombre Hair. You are probably thinking, what is Ombre hair? Ombre hair is a hair color trend where you go from pale to dark graduation of colors throughout the head. It can be done on all various lengths of hair, and go from light to dark or vice versa dark to light.

The good thing about having Ombre hair is it can actually help you with your root problem, and save you lots of money since the majority of the hair is tinted from the mid shaft down. If you are going to try Ombre hair this year , make sure you use permanent hair color on the entire head first to grab the hair and roots evenly. Then for the second color application use a semi-permanent color. This way the semi-color will fade out to a different shade in time, and give you a total new look without redoing the whole process all over again.

One thing about Ombre hair is you need to take care of the hair, especially the ends since they will be extremely porous. Apply leave in conditioners, hair mask, or oil treatment once a week, and also keep trimming the ends before each color application.

I suggest going for a more natural look and lightening up the mid shaft and ends no more than 4 shades lighter than the base. You want to have a drastic look, but you don't want it to look way over board.

Can you give yourself Ombre hair at home? No I dont recomend. it is very tricky , it will take patience and extreme carefulness. your stylist will need to , choose a hair color base, secondary color for mid-length and roots, color sealer, and a good conditioner.

Blondes: A great Ombre color trend would be pale blonde roots/top with blue/black bottom, ash blone with lavender, yellow blonde with pink, or dark golden blonde with pale ends.

Brunettes- Chestnut brown roots and top with golden brown ends, dark brown roots and top with yellow gold ends, deep red brown roots and top with apricot ends, or chocolate brown roots and top with flame red ends.

Ombre hair is very versatile. It can be done almost any way. No matter what color you choose if it's done right this look will be hot.

A quick way of retouching up your Ombre hair is by using makeup such as colored mascara, eyeshadow, or colored pencil, depending on the color that needs to be touched up.

Darcy wanted Our first christmas nails of the season...

Debbie wanted a more vintage lacy look. here is how they ended up. .. All in all We hada good time and We finshed up early.. early in the morning that is.. We all headed out the door at about 3 am in the morning! Another successfull ladies night out at the Salon!

So My good friend Debbie Martinez of http://busyascanbe.blogspot.com/ came to get her nails done and brought along her two daughters Bethany and Darcy for a fun all nighter of nails, dinner and fun! She arrived bearing gifts! my favorite person to recieve gifts from! All you have to do is visit her blog and see what am amazing creative person she is and you will understand what I am talking about. I enjoyed opening my gifts and seeing each little prize so much I thought I would wander off the path of leilanis regular blog topics and share some of my excitement with you. And PICTURES TOO!
She arrived carrying this Darling box. and then the fun began.. go ahead .. open it..

Directly on top I found a collection of her infamous pattens along with her yummy yummy recipes.. I think I may have to break my diet and try those out! MMM not fair how can someone be such a crafty person and a great cook? The anticipation takes over and I have to look beyond the patterns and see whats next.

Candy cane Lip Balm, shower gel and body butter. I am in for a treat tonight! I see some dish towels ...oh perfect to add a little rick rack and floss too. I get it.. its all the ingredience to make one of her patterns from finish to start.. dont I feel smart!

Now look she remembered I'm a Mary Englebright fan.. she packed in a journal,note cards,and a lugage tag. .. now didnt I tell you she's the best gifter I know? time to get busy and lets do some nails..

What do you need to know about Shellac??

So Shellac is the latest craze.

It comes in a variety of colors, glitter, and you can even do french manicures.

But how do you know you are getting quality shellac?

First, make sure your nail tech has the proper training and certificates. Because it's so new a lot of ladies are jumping on board without proper certification!

Also, make sure other customers are pleased with their services.

You also need to make sure they are using the proper UV lamp and take the Shellac off with the CND wraps only! They should never file your natural nail.

How to Choose a Top Quality Nail Salon

This information is reprinted from an editorial in Nails Magazine and is meant as a guide for the nail consumer in choosing a top quality salon. This guide may be used to determine whether your salon is providing not only great nails, but a safe and pleasant experience as well.Are the salon and individual workstations clean? Does your nail technician observe proper sanitation practices?

Before the technician begins your service, work staitionshould be disinfected with a hard surface disinfectant, and freshly washed linens put out. All non-disposable instruments used in the service should have been disinfected. All disposable items should have been discarded and fresh ones taken out for your use. Don't be afraid to ask your nail technician how the instruments have been disinfected, and what solutions have been used. Ask to see the bottle of sanitizing solution if you aren't satisfied.

What is included in the price of the service?

Many salons provide all-inclusive service prices; some salons charge a-la-carte. Be sure you understand exactly what services are performed for the price being charged. For example, is polish extra? Is top coat or fast-dry extra? Will you be charged for broken nails? Make sure they either discuss this with you or have a price list posted where you can clearly see.

Did the nail technician explain the service to you, ask questions about
your needs and inform you of proper home care?

There have been so many advancements in artificial nail products that nail technicians can make the most natural looking nails in the world, but artificial nails aren't for everyone. Your nail technician should ask you about your needs and explain the at-home maintenance you should perform to care for your nails between salon visits. You should also share pertinent medical information with her/him (certain medications, for example, can hinder the application of certain nail products).

Does the salon have a strong odor?

There is an odor associated with some artificial nail products, but there is no danger to customers smelling it during their service. However, an overpowering odor can be an indication of an inadequate ventilation system in the salon. An overpowering odor can also signify the use of MMA which has been prohibited by the FDA for use in nail Enhancement Products since the 70's.

Does the technician use a drill or electric file?

Drills (or electric files) are commonly used in the industry and, when used properly, are perfectly safe. You should not feel any pain or burning when the drill is being used; if you experience any discomfort, tell your technician immediately. The only time a drill should be used on the natural nail is with a buffer (no grit).

Are the technician and the salon licensed?

All states except Alaska, Connecticut, Nebraska require licencing.

What products are used in the salon?

Most salons use products that are for professionals only, and your technician should be able to explain what products she uses and why. There have been a great many advances in nail chemistry in the last 10 years, but some salons still use chemicals whose use in nail care is not recommended, specifically a product called methyl methacrylate (MMA).

What if you have a problem with your nails?

Good communication between nail professional and customer is essential, so if you are not happy with your service or your nails, talk to your technician or the salon owner about it.
