			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Beverly Mae Pinneke, 83, a longtime Skagit County resident, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon.</strong></p>
<p><strong>She was born on January 28, 1927 in Burlington, Washington, the daughter of Arthur &amp; Opal (Long) Swanby.</strong></p>
<p><strong>The family lived in Concrete for a time before settling in Burlington where Beverly attended grade school.  They later moved to Lyman where she was raised and finished grade school. She graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School with the class of 1945.  She then moved to Seattle. While on a bus from Mount Vernon to Seattle, she met a sailor, Stanley Pinneke; they were united in marriage on July 5, 1946 in Mason City, Iowa.</strong> <strong>They made their home in Iowa until returning to Skagit County in 1948.</strong></p>
<p><strong>In 1962 Bev began working for the National Frozen Foods Cannery in Burlington as a quality control inspector.  She retired in 1982.</strong></p>
<p><strong>She was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Sedro-Woolley and of the Ladies Birthday Club.</strong></p>
<p><strong>She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens, traveling, making annual trips to Iowa every other year to visit family and trips across the U.S. and abroad. She also enjoyed watching baseball &amp; basketball games, attending reunions and visiting with family &amp; friends. </strong></p>
<p><strong>Beverly is survived by her children, Patsy Taylor of Lyman, Wayne Pinneke &amp; his wife Carol of Winthrop, Brad Pinneke and his wife Tammy of Burlington and Paige Durham and her husband Bob of Sedro-Woolley. Her brother, Kenneth Swanby and his wife Carol of Boise, Idaho. Nine grandchildren, Cynda Garver, George Taylor, Janel &amp; Dale Pinneke, Bryce Waite, Braden Pinneke, Darci Stewart and Dustin &amp; Michelle Durham; twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stan and two brothers, Bernard &amp; Owen Swanby. </strong></p>
<p><strong>Memorials are suggested to the Skagit Valley Kidney Center or to Acts of Mercy c/o World Outreach Ministries, PO Box 634, Sedro-Woolley, WA 98284.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Funeral Services for Beverly will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Jim Cannon officiating. Interment will follow at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. </strong></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong> Jerry S. Galbreath, 60, a resident of Bow, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, September 1, 2010.</strong></p>
<p><strong> He was born on October 5, 1949 in Mount Vernon, the son of Arvid &amp; Betty (Walden) Galbreath.</strong></p>
<p><strong> He grew up in the Bow area and graduated from Burlington Edison High School with the class of 1970.  He then served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict.</strong></p>
<p><strong> Jerry liked keeping in touch with his classmates, writing or phoning them just to say hi.  He also loved meeting people from all walks of life.</strong></p>
<p><strong>He was an inventor and had invented the magnet glove, only to loose the patent to the Illinois Glove Co.</strong></p>
<p><strong> Jerry worked in construction for many years and at Boeing until an injury forced his retirement.</strong></p>
<p><strong>He also loved the outdoors, tending to his garden, going fishing and panning for gold.  He and his mother would often just sit outside at night watching the stars, satellites and airplanes overhead while visiting and listening to country music. He also liked going to the Angel of the Winds Casino to listen to the music.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Jerry is survived by his mother, Betty Galbreath of Bow. His brother, Thomas Galbreath and his wife Debbie of Burlington. A niece and her husband, Sarah &amp; Mark Sehome and their daughter Courtney and many cousins, aunts and uncles.</strong></p>
<p><strong>He was preceded in death by his father, Arvid.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Funeral Services will he held on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley.  Interment will follow at the Bayview Cemetery.</strong></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Henry “Neil” Mayville, 72, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family and friends on Tuesday, August 31, 2010.</strong></p>
<p><strong>He was born in Sedro-Woolley on October 8, 1937, the son of Edward &amp; Marie (Wiseman) Mayville.</strong></p>
<p><strong> Neil made his home on the Washington coast and other locations until his enlistment in the U.S. Navy in 1955.  After his honorable discharge in 1957 he returned to Sedro-Woolley where he has made his home for over 50 years.</strong></p>
<p><strong>He was united in marriage to Jerlene Sitton in Coeur D Alene, Idaho on December 22, 1958.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Neil worked in the timber and construction industries as a truck driver for many years.  He was a jack of all trades with the ability for fixing or repair just about anything.</strong></p>
<p><strong> He enjoyed restoring and tinkering on hot rod cars, fishing, hunting and camping.</strong></p>
<p><strong> Neil is survived by his wife Jerlene at the family home in Sedro-Woolley.  Three sons, Neil Mayville, Jr. and Terry Mayville, both of Sedro-Woolley and Bill Mayville and his wife Denise of Mount Vernon. His children from a previous marriage, Jeffrey &amp; Jennifer Mayville. Nine grandchildren, Mark, Miranda, Rebecca, Christopher, Andy, Amanda and Alisha Mayville and three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Jordan &amp; Abby Mayville.   His brother, Ray Mayville and his wife Carolyn of Sedro-Woolley; his sister, Ethel Crapson &amp; her husband Mel of Mount Vernon and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Johnny, a sister, Eleanor Mayville and a granddaughter, Julie Mayville.</strong></p>
<p><strong> The family would like to acknowledge their friend Paula Evitt and also Dr. Bruce Mathey and his staff at the Cancer Care Center for all of their loving care &amp; support.  They also suggest that memorials be made to the Cancer Care Center at United General Hospital or to Skagit Hospice.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley with Pastor John Hobson officiating. Interment will follow at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery.  Visitation for Neil will be available at <em>Lemley Chapel. </em></strong></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Floyd Wayne Cashmer, age 85, passed away on August 24, 2010.  He was born on January 31, 1925, in Missoula, Montana, to Floyd Dewey and Ada Louise (Steel) Cashmer, where he lived until joining the U.S. Navy when he was 17 years old.</p>
<p>Floyd served in the Navy Sub service, Sub S-46, in the Pacific during World War II, as a Quartermaster Second Class.  Upon discharge from the Navy, he was a logger, plumber and ceiling texture sprayer.  He was a member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars, Post 2100 and Redmen.  He lived in the Everett and Camano Island area since 1949, and was an avid salmon fisherman.</p>
<p>Floyd is survived by his son, Kim Cashmer and wife Pam, of Clermont, Florida; sister, Helen Reardon and husband Chuck, of Everett, Washington and an extended family, Dolores McMullen, Bill Hall, Burta Johnson and their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his companion of 35 years, Doris Hall.</p>
<p>There will be a Memorial Gathering at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at the VFW Hall, 2711 Oakes Ave, Everett.</p>
<p>Cremation arrangements are under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.</p>

<p><strong> Earl was born on December 6, 1941 in Los Angeles, CA, the son of Earl &amp; Lois (Verecelli) Matto.  He was raised and attended school in southern California, graduating from Gardena High School in 1958.</strong></p>
<p><strong> Earl enlisted into the U.S. Navy in July 1958, serving his country for 21 years. He saw six tours in Vietnam and was a POW until he was able to escape.</strong></p>
<p><strong> During his enlistment Earl was stationed at NAS Whidbey in Oak Harbor. There he met Suzanne Mercer and they were united in marriage in Oak Harbor on October 16, 1976.</strong></p>
<p><strong> When Earl retired from the Navy in 1980, as a AQCS E-8  Senior Chief, he made his home in the Bay area of California, working as an electrical engineer for Airco, designing aircraft electronics. He later moved to Riverside, CA where he worked for the Rohr Company, also an aviation electronics company, where he was the plant’s lead electronic engineer.</strong></p>
<p><strong> In May of 1998 Earl &amp; family moved to Skagit County, settling in Sedro-Woolley where Earl operated a computer business, Flights of Fancy Computers. </strong></p>
<p><strong> He enjoyed older and classic cars and was a member of J.J.’s Cruiser Car Club, H.O. scale model trains, collecting gems and rocks, pleasure boating and entertaining &amp; BBQing for family &amp; friends.</strong></p>
<p><strong> Earl is survived by his wife, Sue at the family home in Sedro-Woolley.  His children and their spouses, Christina &amp; Ringo Gray of Riverside, CA, Tony &amp; Brenda Matto of Fullerton, CA, Misty &amp; Jake Barthule of Burlington, WA and Autumn &amp; Stuart Clark of Jacksonville, FL.  His sister and brother-in-law, Marti &amp; Gary Poort of Orange, County, CA; eleven grandchildren, with one grandchild and two great-grandchildren arriving in the coming months and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Memorials are suggested to the Skagit Valley Hospital Cancer Care Center in memory of Earl.</strong></p>
<p><strong> A Life Celebration will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Christ the King Church, 2111 Riverside Drive in Mount Vernon and all who knew Earl are invited to attend.   A private family committal service with Military Honors will be held at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of <em>Lemley Chapel</em>, Sedro-Woolley. </strong></p>
