I Believe...
- In solitude. In taking the time to be alone each day, even if it's just for a few minutes. Time without a cell phone, a computer, or even a book. Time to just sit within one's own thoughts.

- That a little window shopping can really turn an otherwise frustrating day into a much better day. (And on that note, I really wish I had not seen these polka dot shorts at Madewell because I just had to try them on now, and now.... I want them. #NotOkay)

- That there are few things sweeter than love, especially that comfortable, familiar kind of love.

- That the sound of an ice cream truck's music will always remind of long summer days spent rollerblading down my parents drive way and playing hide-and-seek with the neighborhood kids.

- In accepting that everyone will not always like and "get" you, and eventually realizing that it's okay to stop trying.

- In the excitement that comes with an approaching San Diego summer. A summer filled with trips, bonfires, friends, bike rides, and lots of long days at the beach

- That hot chocolate is always a good idea

- That no matter how old I get, I always look to my parents' for advice, love, and that feeling of being home.

Some weekends are meant for lingering, cuddles on the couch, lots of chocolate, and little to no plans.

Oh and spicy shrimp burritos. Lazy weekends should always involve spicy shrimp burritos

This weekend I also had the chance to try out my new Snugg ipad3 case. I like that it's sturdy yet slim and easily fits in my purse. It also keeps my ipad upright on our soft couch or on a table. On Olivia's birthday we...

+ Enjoyed the yummiest dinner at Brooklyn Girl Eatery.

+ Discussed girly things and weddings ~~and tried not to stare to hard at the PDA-ing couple sitting next to us, awkwarddd.~~

+ Laughed heartily after Cara-Mia broke our dessert. (No but really)

+ Watched Breakfast At Tiffany's under the stars. Okay I fell asleep, but in my defense my lawn chair was really comfortable and falling asleep during movies happens frequently in my life. =P

+ Were all in bed by 11:30pm.... because that's how we do.

The best hot chocolate from Cafe Chloe in Downtown San Diego

Confessions.
1. You know those people (cough everyone I went to school with besides me) in college who could pull all nighters and ace a test? Well I would really try to stay up, I mean reallllly try except I would end up face planting into my book and passing out by 11pm. Eventually I had to come to terms with my inability to stay up all night and study... and wake up at 4am to cram before a 9am final.
2. Speaking of sleep. I need sleep, and a lot of it... or I turn into a dramatic, sick-like mess. It's a problem. This also poses a problem when I'm out with friends at night and get tired around 10pm. #EmbarrassingIKnow
3. About a month ago I started taking Israeli folk dance classes, and I am obsessed. Seriously, those classes are the highlight of my week.
4. I like to cook and I love to have people over, but the combination of the two gives me slight anxiety. Yes I am forcing myself to get over this because I like people, a lot. ;) #MessHotMess hehe
5. Nadav and I are having a destination wedding! That's all the details I'll share for now. =P

Jake's Del Mar

Saturday morning my parents came down to San Diego for a little early Mother's Day celebrating, and a little wedding dress shopping. Well my mom and I went wedding dress shopping and my dad and Nadav stayed back and ~~watched basketball on TV and talked about ways we could fix up our house~~ did boy things (boringgg). I won't share any photos from wedding dress shopping today, a girls gotta keep some stuff to herself, right? ;) However I will say that I LOVED my experience at Bliss Bride in Del Mar. If you're in the San Diego area and looking for a relaxed, personal, stress free bridal boutique experience make sure you check out Bliss Bride. Oh, and they have incredible dresses there. :)

Anyway, after shopping my mom and I met up with the men at Jake's Del Mar for lunch. Jake's Del Mar is literally right on the beach, and has really really great food. Jake's Del Mar also makes for a romantical place for dinner with an ocean view, but I will admit that the dinner can get pricey. :)

San Diego Italian Film Festival + Giveaway

Italian food, Italian culture, and well... ~~especially~~ even Italian clothing.
I love it all.
Nadav and I are even going on our dream Italian vacation this summer and I am so so excited about the entire thing.

The San Diego Italian Film Festival is held in September but until then, the festival holds monthly film screenings at the Museum of Photographic Arts (which just happens to be a really cool place!) at Balboa Park. This Thursday evening, they are showing Sentrie l'Aria (Feel the Air in English). Nadav and I will most definitely be attending, and the best part?

That Little Lost Camera

Farra, Cara-Mia, Lisa, and I having fun in the Amigo Booth at the Madewell San Diego opening party. It's true, this photo has nothing to do with the content of the blog post. Eh?

I really don't have the best track record when it comes to taking care of cameras.

There was the camera that I mysteriously lost in the snow at the Sundance Film Festival while I was in college (Oh and sorry to the girls who were there when that happened, I had a ~~minor~~ meltdown about it. In my defense it was my first time playing in the snow since I was a teensy little kid and I was really sad about the photos I had lost). The camera I dropped and broke at the train station in New York City, and even the waterproof camera that I somehow let go of while snorkeling, and then frantically tried to save as it sunk down to the bottom of the La Jolla Cove.

See what I mean? Bad track record.

Anyway, a few days ago I reached into my purse and realized that I couldn't find my beloved point and shoot camera. (Seriously the Canon S95 camera takes incredible photos, I use it to take 1/2 of the photos I post on this blog and receive lots of compliments on those photos). For a day or so, I pushed the thought out of my mind, "it will turn up.. no big deal". Then another day went by, another day went by, and a few more days.

"Maybe it fell out of my purse??"

"Maybe I lost it last Friday night in Little Italy?"

"Maybe one of my coworkers used it at work and forget to tell me?"

Yesterday I started to stress.

Today, I really started to stress and contemplated looking up prices for the camera on Amazon.

Then I got into my car after work, sat down, and promptly dropped my keys on the car floor.

I reached down, and what do ya know...

There was my little camera.

Hip Hip Hoorayyy

The moral of this little story?

Maybe what you're looking for has really just been right next to you all this time. Slow down and look around you. ;)

(Oh and try to pay better attention to my electronics. They're too expensive to ruin and lose this often)

Quatro De Mayo

To be honest, I rarely venture into Old Town as it's a bit too touristy for my taste, but I really love spending Cinco de Mayo and Dia de Los Muertos (the Day of the Dead) there. On those holidays, Old Town hosts big festivals complete with lots of live music, yummy food and margaritas, outdoor soccer (for reals, watch out for "balls flying past your nose.. oh there goes your social life" -- okay sorry I couldn't help but quote the movie "Clueless"), and beautiful art. I know, I know I am a sucker for festivals.

But I digress, on Quatro de Mayo (hey you gotta start celebrating early when ~~drinking~~ holidays fall on a work night) Nadav, Cara-Mia, and I went to Old Town to take in the early Cinco de Mayo festivities. We danced to some live music (okay I danced while Nadav and Cara-Mia stared at me =P), checked out all the ~~cheesy~~ Old Town souvenirs, and had a great time laughing over margaritas.

Naturally, we indulged in some margaritas. Casa de Reyes has some bomb (ya I just went there) strawberry margaritas. They were sooo delicious, dangerously delicious if you ask me. The guacamole, chips, and shrimp ceviche also really hit the spot.

Just a little bit of advice for those of you planning on visiting San Diego. If you are interested in eating Mexican food. Puhleaseee don't go to Old Town expecting awesome excellent food. If you do want to eat there order a margarita and some appetizers, but avoid ordering a full meal at a restaurant there. Instead, get a really yummy Mexican meal at a small drive-thru or hole in the wall Mexican place. You can thank me later ;)

La Puerta

La Puerta is an awesome little restaurant/bar in Downtown San Diego.

The atmosphere is fun, but not in that overwhelming "there is so much going on right now I can't think or talk" way that tends to happen to me when I go to certain bars. (LOL okay I'm ~~old~~ weird, I know..) The appetizers are delish and the happy hour prices are the very best part. Honestly, I say stick to the appetizers over the actual entrees...

Last week I ended up at La Puerta with some of my OT (that's occupational therapy if you're new around these parts =P) friends for happy hour and had a great time.

See that green slushie looking drink? Well it's called a Mr. MoJo Risin, and is basically a frozen mojito. It was sooo good, too good. "This drink tastes like an Icee and I could drink 3" sums it right up.

The guacamole at La Puerta is soooo good! I really recommend it.

Check out La Puerta if you're in the Downtown San Diego area. :)

Have I mentioned my love for people watching?

Wellll I love sitting in a little cafe, enjoying a cappuccino (okay lets be honest, I act like I'm 5 and usually go for hot chocolate) and taking in all the people that walk by... especially when fabulously dressed people or "entertaining people" are around. Yes, I use the term "entertaining people" loosely. ;)

Little Italy's ArtWalk just happens to be the perfect spot for people watching... oh and checking out local art, not that that's the entire point of the event or anything. =P

Last weekend Nadav and I made our way to Little Italy for our second annual trip to ArtWalk San Diego and had an awesome time. I tried to convince him that we needed to purchase some art, but he pointed out that I get sick of almost everything I buy for our house within 6 months and splurging on fancy art was probably a bad idea. What can I say, that man knows me well. ;)

Little Italy never fails me. I just really really love that neighborhood. Good food, good people watching, and lots of fun events.

I know, I know I've said it before... but I just really love San Diego.

I spent the last few days reuniting ~~cough drinking~~ with my grad school friends and learning new things at the American Association of Occupational Therapy Conference. We had soo much fun, and I really loved introducing them to a few of my favorite spots in Downtown San Diego. Naturally I took lots of photos, which means I also get to share some of those places on here. =P

But right now, it's Sunday night. The weekend is coming to an end, I'm pooped... and I just really want to crash on the couch with Nadav and catch up on Mad Men.

And that, my friends, is exactly what I'm going to do. ;)

I'm currently at the American Occupational Therapy Association Conference having a glorious time with my grad school friends (e.g. we're drinking a lot... and uh #SorryIfIFloodedYourInstagramFeedWithPicsLastNight #AtLeastWeHadFun) Oooohh the good ole' days

ArtWalk is taking place in San Diego's Little Italy this weekend. I went last year and it was awesome. Check it out if you're in the area =)

The story of Carly Fleischmann, a teenage girl with Autism, who found a way to communicate with the world. Her story is AMAZING, and brought me to tears. Please please watch her story, it will change you.

Petite Madeline With The Ladies

A few weeks ago I got together for brunch with Julie, Emily, and Gina for a little blogger get-together in Oceanside. Oceanside is about 30 minutes north of where I live, and truth is.. I don't get out there too much, but it's really a cute little beach town and I plan on exploring it some more. :)

Anywayyyy, we met at Petite Madeline, a cute little brunch spot about a block from the ocean, and the next few hours flew by as we lingered over breakfast and talked about the most ridiculous things. I am so thankful to have such talented, creative, and fun friends.

Nadav and I were really ambitious and ran a 5k in City Heights

Stopped for brunch at Cafe Chloe

Cafe Chloe is the cutest little Parisian style restaurant in Downtown. The portions are perfect, the food is soo good and, man... my hot chocolate was insane.

Wandered around Downtown San Diego

And spent the rest of the day cleaning out our garage.
I know, ~~we're old~~ it's an exciting life we live.

An Evening In La Jolla

Cara-Mia stopped by my house on her way home and ~~I cough cough~~ we decided to be spontaneous, take advantage of the beautiful day, and go somewhere fun. We ended up at the La Jolla Cove and had the most perfect kind of San Diego evening.

We parked near the beach and headed straight to The Olive Oil Experience. Mostly because enjoying a glass of wine while taking in an oceanview would obviously be the most productive use of our time. Sure, The Olive Oil Experience sells all kind of fun olive oil, but they also have great wine, an awesome happy hour, really good appetizers, and the most amazing view.

I give you the view from the patio of The Olive Oil Experience. I know, it doesn't suck.

Afterwards we walked down to the beach to ~~sober up~~ enjoy the views.

I knowww... Cara-Mia and I kinda match, it happens ;)

Thinking: About a lot really, and a lot of stuff I'm not quite ready to share on here. #SorryForBeingVagueIKnowItsAnnoying Truth is, I've been a bit distracted by life lately, or really I should just say I've been enjoying and living life lately. =P Blogging has kinda come second over the past few weeks, and I really think that's okay. I believe in enjoying the moment, putting my phone away, and #latergrams.

Loving: Speaking of distractions and enjoying life, I really love this article and the following quote that I first found on Megan's blog:

Missing: My family and Israel. Sigh. I've been listening to Eyal Golan's new cd to help fill the void. I also made my way to Tiki Taka Grill with Nadav and his family last weekend for ridiculously good Israeli food.

Thankful: For Nadav and the little things he does to make my day just a little brighter, like putting air in my car tires or stopping by McDonalds on his way home to pick up a chocolate dipped ice cream cone for me.

Looking Forward To: The American Occupational Therapy Association Convention next week. #NerdAlertNerdAlert No but seriously, I am really really looking forward to learning new things, getting inspired, and reuniting with my grad school friends! Hooray =)

Ready For: Summer in San Diego. Beach bike rides, tan lines, afternoon naps at the beach, and lots of sunshine. Yesssssssssssss

Loving: These wedges, these overalls, oh and these wedges too. (Apparently I have a thing for clothing I clearly cannot afford. #ShopLessTravelMore)

Saturday morning I got together with Gina, Julie, and Emily for a little brunch in Oceanside.

I know I know, I met up with bloggers for brunch at a cute little restaurant... what's new?

But there was something that was a little different this time. I guess you could say I ~~let all my defenses down and was my slightly [okay majorly] potty mouthed, slightly inappropriate, with a tendency towards TMI self~~ felt extra "comfortable". Even if I had only met Julie once before, had never met Emily, and Gina and I get together about once every other month. ;)

I've always thought that if you're lucky, you meet a few people you really connect with in your lifetime. People who make you feel at ease, and let you really be yourself... even if you've only met them once, or a handful of times. I don't know what it is about blogging, but it just keeps bringing awesome people that I really connect with into my life.

I've realized that most of my closest friends in San Diego are bloggers. They're girls/ladies (I think we're all in that in between stage) who I talk to every single day, take trips with, and confide in.

I had no idea when I started this little blog that it would bring so many wonderful people into my life.

It's all kinds of awesome, and I'm grateful....

It's decided then, the internet is pretty cool place =P

Today as I train for the upcoming Rock N' Roll half marathon I will think about the many lives that were so horribly changed yesterday, and how remember how thankful I am for my freedom.

We Finally Did It

On Saturday, we finally did it.

Okay, just kidding we didn't get married (yet)..

But we finally got around to getting passes to the San Diego Zoo. I think this means we're official or something. =P

Don't worry, Sea World is still #1 in my heart.
