I really really love that. :)

In which I pretend to be a fashion blogger....

By a glimpse, I really meant teensy weensy little glimpse. It's that bad.
See that mess that consists of overgrown weeds and scratched up cement. That's our backyard, sigh and it's a serious embarrassment. When we first moved in we renovated the entire interior of the house, and then ran out of money... and well motivation. Since then it seems like we keep putting off fixing up the front and backyard, but we both know it's time to make things pretty outside. We want to invite people over for long summery outdoor barbecues anddd I want twinkle lights. everywhere. =P
(Okay and a fire pit wouldn't hurt either.)

Anyone know any affordable landscape designers in San Diego? We need help.

Our typically fun, active weekends have slowed down a bit since Nadav sprained his ankle (cough, he really needs to get better before our trip to Europe and I'm willing to sit on my but with him for at least 1/2 of each weekend to make that happen. Turns out sitting on my butt for parts of the weekend can actually be pretty fun, who knew? =P). We're relaxing, but this past weekend involved spending lots of time with the people who matter the most. I loved it. :)

I'm kicking myself for forgetting to take photos yesterday, but I happen to think that enjoying the moment and the people you love should always take precedent to taking a gazillion photos. ;)
I'm so thankful I was able to celebrate Father's Day with my dad. He is the best dad and role model I could ever ask for. :)

Palm Springs Is Always Epic

In a few weeks I'll be heading to Palm Springs for a girly weekend with some of my favorite ladies.

Yes, we we will be spending all day at the pool and day drinking will most definitely be involved.
Yes, we will most likely be in bed by 10pm because day drinking makes me sleepy (oh and we're cool like that)
Yes, there will be plenty of outlet shopping too be had.
No, we will not be hiking #PalmSpringsIsWayTooHotInJune
and yes, I better get to the gym a lot over the next few weeks

I don't plan on packing too much but you can bet that my suitcase will be filled with light and airy dresses that can go from the pool to dinner, a cute and flattering bikini, big shades, and a humongous floppy hat. Oh, and sunblock, lots and lots of strong sunblock (#IReallyNeedToStartWorkingOnMyTan)

I know, I know I swear I talk about La Jolla once a week on this little blog of mine, but I really can't help it, it is such a special place.

Last weekend, I met up with my friend Donna for a light lunch and a walk around the beach. By light I mean I ate a salad and inhaled a brownie shake. =P If you do come to San Diego you need to eat at Burger Lounge. Everything at the restaurant is sooo good. I'm normally not a beef eater, but I will always have a bite of Nadav's burgers when we go there. I usually order a salad or chicken burger but I also really love their chicken strips and veggie burgers. Literally everything is good there, and their milkshakes?? I can't even handle the goodness.

On Friday this guy managed to sprain his ankle.

Wamp wamp. ~~He also moaned and groaned while limping around all weekend =P~~

Because of this (the sprained ankle, not the moaning and groaning hehe), we cancelled all of our weekend plans and laid low. There was no rock climbing, birthday party at the beach, or dinner with friends. Relaxing all weekend is not something that is easy for me to do in a beautiful place like San Diego, but I did it last weekend (well with the exception of boot camp and lunch with a friend) and it was all kinds of wonderful.

I made breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday.

That is something that has never ever happened before and you know what? It felt good and health-ier (Okay it would have been healthy if I hadn't remembered about the gelato in the freezer. Oops)

Saturday afternoon was spent catching up on Game of Thrones (and for the record, WTF?!?! I thoroughly enjoy that show but it exhausts me!!!) and doing some European vacation planning.

We only left the house on Sunday evening to watch the sunset over Mission Bay.

The best part of the weekend?

Well the best part was really taking the time to sit and enjoy being with Nadav.

Talking, cuddling, and not worrying about all the other things we could have done that weekend.

It really makes that whole "home is wherever I'm with you" thing sink in.

I treasure that feeling.

Now if I could just work on slowing down more often....

I tend to go through phases.

Sometimes I'll tweet, other times I'll be all over Facebook. Thse days, I'm all about Instagram and I like it that way.

Here's a little bit of my day to day, through the eyes of my Samsung Galaxy SIII ~~because some bloggers have Android phones, not Iphones~~ =P

The past few weeks were all about

- a sweet long weekend with the parentals

- polka dot shorts (my new favorite purchase)

- beach, beach, and some more beach. It's what I do

- pretty flowers, okay buying flowers is another phase I am currently going through. Last week I bought a bouquet of sunflowers, 2 peonies bouquets, a lavender potted plant, and 3 succulents. #Help #TraderJoesIBlameItOnYou

- sleeping in, and a fiance that doesn't drink coffee but is kinda wonderful and sometimes brings me coffee in bed. He loves me (and really loves it when I sleep in, so he tries to bribe me to stay in bed with coffee. He's always successful), and I really really love him.

- Quiet mornings and leisurely breakfasts

- Oh and new romantical pillows, that are basically the best etsy purchase I've made in a very long time. You can get them here

My occupational therapy grad school friends and I, well we we've been through a lot. I guess when you've experienced two and a half of the most stressful years of your lives together you tend to develop a bond.
We've also all chosen a career in which we help people, and specifically kids. My grad school friends, well they're good people, and I'm lucky to have them in my life. A few of us even live less than 15 minutes away from each other, but more often than not, life gets in the way and months go by before we see each other.

Last month we reunited at the AOTA convention, and promised to spend more time together, and surprise surprise.. we are following through with that promise.

Saturday a few of us spent a beautiful afternoon at Balboa Park.

This last photo and the next one are a result of me trying to learn how to use the manual settings on my camera. You gotta learn somehow, right? =P

It Was A Good Day

Sunday was a

sleeping in, coffee in bed, and a Rick Steves marathon kinda day.

It turned into a

Farmer's Market, Street Fair, and beachy kinda day.

and Sunday well, it ended with a

sushi dinner, frozen yogurt, and Mad Men kinda night.

Nadav and I checked out Solana's Beach annual street fair, Fiesta del Sol. In English, Fiesta del Sol means Festival of the Sun which is awesome, except that June Gloom has hit San Diego. I hope the festival reminds the sun that it needs to come out more. =P

Fiesta del Sol takes place right next to the Del Mar train station and overlooks the ocean. It's a cute little fair complete with lots of vendors, good music, food trucks, and a beer/wine garden. My kinda place.

The sushi at Station Sushi was really good, buttt the service left somethings to be desired. They have a few great happy hour deals, so if you're feeling the need for some sushi wait until happy hour and expect to be ignored for awhile by the servers. ;)

I take my frozen yogurt seriously, and I was very impressed with Yummy Yogurt. The flavors were really good and I liked the texture of the yogurt. I'm kinda weird about the texture of yogurt. I like it to be thicker, more like ice cream. =P

Apparently Nadav really enjoyed his frozen yogurt too. ;)

Photo Booth? I'm There

Let's take a moment and discuss a scenario that I frequently encounter.

I arrive at a party and hear that they have a photo booth.

Naturally, the first thing I do is head to the photo booth.

Okay, okay... you're right the very first thing I do is get a drink....

Then, I head to the photo booth. #Complications

But I digress, a few weeks ago Cara-Mia, Farra, Lisa, and I had a great time at the Madewell grand opening party at the Fashion Valley Mall. There were lots of great people and music, the Amigo Booth was way too fun, and I loved every single thing that the Miho Gastro Truck served. As expected, I also felt like I needed all the clothing in the store as well.

I even came home to Nadav and proudly informed him that I was strong and did not buy any clothes. Except I may have forgotten to tell him that the day after the event I returned to Madewell and purchased some new goods. #Woops

Down By The Bay

Mission Bay never fails me. There's something about the quiet water, the palm trees, and the people riding past on their beach cruisers that reminds me to slow down. I am so thankful to live so close to such a beautiful place.

Last weekend, Farra and her sweet family met up with Nadav and me for a little walk around the bay.

I Believe...
- In solitude. In taking the time to be alone each day, even if it's just for a few minutes. Time without a cell phone, a computer, or even a book. Time to just sit within one's own thoughts.

- That a little window shopping can really turn an otherwise frustrating day into a much better day. (And on that note, I really wish I had not seen these polka dot shorts at Madewell because I just had to try them on now, and now.... I want them. #NotOkay)

- That there are few things sweeter than love, especially that comfortable, familiar kind of love.

- That the sound of an ice cream truck's music will always remind of long summer days spent rollerblading down my parents drive way and playing hide-and-seek with the neighborhood kids.

- In accepting that everyone will not always like and "get" you, and eventually realizing that it's okay to stop trying.

- In the excitement that comes with an approaching San Diego summer. A summer filled with trips, bonfires, friends, bike rides, and lots of long days at the beach

- That hot chocolate is always a good idea

- That no matter how old I get, I always look to my parents' for advice, love, and that feeling of being home.

Scenes From A Lazy Saturday

This weekend I also had the chance to try out my new Snugg ipad3 case. I like that it's sturdy yet slim and easily fits in my purse. It also keeps my ipad upright on our soft couch or on a table. On Olivia's birthday we...

+ Enjoyed the yummiest dinner at Brooklyn Girl Eatery.

+ Discussed girly things and weddings ~~and tried not to stare to hard at the PDA-ing couple sitting next to us, awkwarddd.~~

+ Laughed heartily after Cara-Mia broke our dessert. (No but really)

+ Watched Breakfast At Tiffany's under the stars. Okay I fell asleep, but in my defense my lawn chair was really comfortable and falling asleep during movies happens frequently in my life. =P

+ Were all in bed by 11:30pm.... because that's how we do.

The best hot chocolate from Cafe Chloe in Downtown San Diego

Confessions.
1. You know those people (cough everyone I went to school with besides me) in college who could pull all nighters and ace a test? Well I would really try to stay up, I mean reallllly try except I would end up face planting into my book and passing out by 11pm. Eventually I had to come to terms with my inability to stay up all night and study... and wake up at 4am to cram before a 9am final.
2. Speaking of sleep. I need sleep, and a lot of it... or I turn into a dramatic, sick-like mess. It's a problem. This also poses a problem when I'm out with friends at night and get tired around 10pm. #EmbarrassingIKnow
3. About a month ago I started taking Israeli folk dance classes, and I am obsessed. Seriously, those classes are the highlight of my week.
4. I like to cook and I love to have people over, but the combination of the two gives me slight anxiety. Yes I am forcing myself to get over this because I like people, a lot. ;) #MessHotMess hehe
5. Nadav and I are having a destination wedding! That's all the details I'll share for now. =P

Jake's Del Mar

Saturday morning my parents came down to San Diego for a little early Mother's Day celebrating, and a little wedding dress shopping. Well my mom and I went wedding dress shopping and my dad and Nadav stayed back and ~~watched basketball on TV and talked about ways we could fix up our house~~ did boy things (boringgg). I won't share any photos from wedding dress shopping today, a girls gotta keep some stuff to herself, right? ;) However I will say that I LOVED my experience at Bliss Bride in Del Mar. If you're in the San Diego area and looking for a relaxed, personal, stress free bridal boutique experience make sure you check out Bliss Bride. Oh, and they have incredible dresses there. :)

Anyway, after shopping my mom and I met up with the men at Jake's Del Mar for lunch. Jake's Del Mar is literally right on the beach, and has really really great food. Jake's Del Mar also makes for a romantical place for dinner with an ocean view, but I will admit that the dinner can get pricey. :)

San Diego Italian Film Festival + Giveaway

Nadav and I are even going on our dream Italian vacation this summer and I am so so excited about the entire thing.

Bravo's new show "Newlyweds The First Year" is is gooood, real good. Funny story, last September Olivia, Farra, Kelsey and I went to Palm Springs for a girl's weekend. While we were lounging at the The Saguaro's pool we just happened to make friends with Blair and Jeff. Yessss Blair was completely and utterly fabulous.
