New Mexico hero: an illegal???

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The man who chased down an alleged child abductor and saved a 6-year-old girl from what could have been a horrible fate will be honored as a hero Friday. But he is also gaining a new kind of celebrity: as a poster child of sorts for immigration rights in state and national immigration debates.

Antonio Diaz Chacon, 23, is a Mexican citizen married to an American and has been in the country for four years. But Chacon says he abandoned attempts to get legal residency because the process was difficult and expensive.
Diaz Chacon, who works in Albuquerque as a mechanic, revealed his immigration status to the Spanish-language Univision TV network this week, prompting chatter on the Internet and social networking sites that his case underscored immigrant rights positions in two ongoing political debates.
"I came to work, to work hard," he told Univision. "The only problem is I entered the country illegally and now we can't afford a lawyer to file the immigration papers."
Some argue he is an example of the kind of immigrant the federal government will now largely leave alone. The Department of Homeland Security announced Thursday that deportations would focus on criminals.
"As exceptional as his story is," said Christina Parker, a spokeswoman for Border Network for Human Rights in El Paso, "It points to the fact that most undocumented immigrants living in the United States are not criminals. He's more than not a criminal now. He's a hero."
Others used it to blast New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez's ongoing attempts to repeal a state law that allows foreign nationals, including illegal immigrants, to obtain a driver's license. The governor has put the repeal — which was defeated in the regular session earlier this year — on the agenda for a September special session.

DO YOU GUYS THINK HE DESERVES TO GET THE CITIZENSHIP FOR SAVING THAT LITTLE GIRLS LIFE? please live your comment with your opinion.. thank you

STUDENT LOANS DEBT.

2011-08-11T17:35:00.000-07:00

ITS A FACT, there are over 18 million students enrolled at the nearly 5,000 colleges and universities currently in operation across the United States. Many of these institutions of higher learning are now charging $20,000, $30,000 or even $40,000 a year for tuition and fees. not even count living expenses. Today it is 400% more expensive to go to college in the United States than it was just 30 years ago. They have been told not to worry about how much it costs and that there is plenty of financial aid (mostly made up of loans) available. Now our economy is facing the biggest student loan debt bubble in the history of the world, and when our new college graduates enter the "real world" they are finding out that the good jobs they were promised are very few and far between. As millions of Americans wake up and start realizing that the tens of thousands of dollars that they have poured into their college educations was mostly a waste, will the great college education scam finally be exposed?

Im about 60,000 dollars in debt.. education is a waste of time and money here in the USA. Because after you graduated 90% of student wont find a job on the career they study.. and wont be able to make 500 dollars payments ..

AND NOW ONE REVIEW OF MANY...By

My Uncle Stu

Durability: Fun: Educational:

This review is from: BACON shaped themed Adhesive Bandages (Health and Beauty)

I picked these up on an impulse, tired of sporting Dora and Strawberry Shortcake bandages over my manly shaving-related mutilations. Just an impulse, good for a few chuckles, but I'm glad I did.

I like these bacon bandages. I love bacon, it makes everything tastier. You ever have scallops wrapped in bacon? Or, where I grew up, we had the francheezie, a quarter-pound dog, split up and filled with cheese, and wrapped with bacon. I love the idea of garnishing myself with bacon, and all it symbolizes. To my kosher cousins, the bacon serves as a slight, a defiant declaration that I will not be laden down by dogma and delusion. To my vegan brothers and sisters, the bacon is a visible symbol of my dishonor, a white-meat scarlet letter confessing my lack of grit: "I'm with you in spirit, comrades, but the flesh is weak."

I'm so fond of these band-aids that it's a little bit of a downer when my wounds heal up. I eager anticipate paper cuts. I'm actually contemplating getting a bacon tattoo. Let me know what you think.

Recommendation of the Day

The Vista, with its transparent barrel and cap, and brilliant inner chrome workings, is clearly a great pen. Its modern, hi-tech look and light weight makes it popular with note-takers. An excellent choice for a student you know, or see for yourself.

MY REVIEW: I got my own Lamy Safari Vista Fountain Pen about 2 months ago and i love it, so far the best pen i used so far. The clear body is great because you will see when the pen needs to get refiled. one other thing i like about Lamy pens is the futuristic look .. it looks for people from all ages to use it with out feeling ancient. My Grade for the pen is : A.

I hope you get your soon. I'm sure you will be happy when you get it. :-)
