I didn't know I had this blog! I completely forgot all about this! It's been almost a year already!

And it's interesting that my first entry on this blog is all about my first experience in parking my car overnight at airports. And you know what? My family and I just came from Cagayan de Oro once again and we were not able to park at NAIA 3. So off we went again at the old domestic airport parking lot.

It was getting late and we were about to enter the NAIA 3 building when I began to think of getting my plane tickets in my backpack. But the backpack was not with me nor with my wife and daughter! It was left in my car parked at the old domestic airport. So off I went back again and thankfully it was there in the car. I hurriedly went back to NAIA 3.

Everything went fine and we were able to go to Cagayan de Oro and back again to Manila. The car was still there at the domestic airport parking lot and off we went back home to Pampanga. Hmm... interesting experience. And I'm glad I "discovered" again this blog site that I have already forgotten. LOL.

It was great. No need for someone to bring me to the airport any longer. So the next time around when I went to Cagayan de Oro with my family, I again decided to park at NAIA 3's overnight parking area. It almost became a disaster. We needed to check-in already but there was no place to park! It was full! According to the guards.

Finally, the guard changed his mind and allowed me to park in the one remaining slot that was vacant. Thankfully, he "found" one vacant slot after checking it again. Whew! I gave him something to make him smile and told him to please watch my car while I was away. He happily obliged!

Last Saturday, I was again falling in line at the entrance of NAIA 3's overnight parking area. The line was really long. It was a holiday and everyone's going out of Manila! The guard waved at me so I drove near him bypassing all the other cars in line. I thought I was "lucky" but I was told instead that it was full! He said "Try Marriot." I asked for directions and went there. It was too expensive! One thousand pesos per night.

Thankfully, I was 2 or 3 hours early so I looked for another place to park. Without really thinking so much about it, I was led (by the Lord so I can accomplish what he wants me to do?) to the parking space at the old Domestic Airport. And to my surprise, they now allow overnight parking! And they have the same rates as in NAIA 3, P50 per night. What a relief!

So I was able to park with peace of mind. The place was half full unlike at NAIA 3. There was plenty of parking space. I just took a taxi going to NAIA 3 and off I flew to Davao. When I came back, the car was still there -- my old car -- which hopefully no one would be interested to carnap. LOL. With peace of mind, I drove back home to Pampanga.

Now you know it. I hope I'll still have parking space the next time I go there!

She looked motherly, unsophisticated, definitely not a socialite and she called me "Dong." It was a turbulent ride and the pilot announced that there were strong winds. I slept quite a while and woke up when we were approaching Davao. I noticed that my seatmate was obviously "freezing to death." I politely asked her if she would like me to shut off the aircon nozzle right above her blowing directly to her face. She said yes. LOL! She was freezing all the way! Poor lady.

Going down was bumpy and I heard the lady humming... singing... she was actually praying! It was not a smooth touch down but when we were finally on the ground, without a shame she said, "Thank you Lord!" Funny, but I admire her trust in God in times of distress. The lady finally defrosted. LOL!

Today I discovered by chance the origin of a word I took for granted ever since I learned English at a very young age. Did you know where we got the word "okay" or "OK?" Well, I never really bothered to check it out.

But I was glad I heard it in a videoclip. It comes from the Greek phrase, "Ola Kala" which means, "Everything's fine." Wow! After more than 5 decades I just learned it today. Amazing! Now you know it too. It was declared by the school in anticipation of a scheduled long brownout today. There had been long brownouts lately here in Pampanga recently for some time now.

So we expected it today as it usually does at around 8:30 a.m. We braced ourselves and got ready for a long and perspiring day, fanning ourselves and unable to do work. But it's now 4:50 p.m. and we still have power! My daughter came home from school at around lunchtime.

Hmmm... this is the kind of false alarm that is very welcome for most of us to hear. The whole school with thousands of students had no classes this afternoon due to some unclear information. I guess all the students in this school had a great time today! LOL! :)
