The shoot out in question is the one on trout Street that happened on the 13Th November,now the below the waffle of people voice rumour that is going around is that there was a tip off as to the robbers attacking the house,this tip off was acted upon by the lenasia reservists,(give credit to them for once they helped the community,well I cant generalize some of them are great and are actively upholding security in there neighbourhood,whilst others feel the need to push there status to create fear for them when instead all they doing is providing a basis for here mockery)as I was saying,so this happen the 13Th morning and I can imagine the situation as it was unfolding in front of the reservists eyes,now they had to have known because according to reports the robbers found the police inside the house already,and mere split seconds seperated the bullet shells from hitting the italian tiles on the floor with the reservists demonstrating there skills in possibly there first shoot out, with all the robbers being caught,mind you one was shot dead(the neighbour recognized the dead criminal and was stunned to see it was the same robber who robbed him just three years ago,we all know what was going through his mind), Now the sad part of the story is not merelky the maid being locked up for being a part of the crime but in that there was a Indian woman as well who was part of the crime and she was from Lenasia,after the numerous attempts that we as indians in a community wherein peace is taught in any religion we are unable to satisfy a few lost souls who have no way,we a community of togetherness(well thats what I believe) as we all share something in common,and thats not that we all have a perfect tan but because we have culture,morals,strong believes and a desire to stand united as one.

On with the story,the police does give a big thanks to the community for there quick reaction,but then some residents also thought it was a wedding going on?in the morning with gunshots?i don’t remember Trout street being infested with the fast guns(that gang from some time ago that everyone says was ruthless,yeah well them),and in the end I hope justice is served and I hope the reservist now have something more thrilling to do then sit in there car with there windows open looking down on everyone as if we are criminals,I mean have you seen the reservists of mafair splendid people,down to earth and so ready to be there to help there community I take my h

The tournament named ‘the winter games’ is to be held at the Yusuf Akhalwaya and Prakash Napier complex,the tournament runs over a period of two days and begin june 20th,ofcourse we hope Lenasians will provide moral supportto the team.
Team member Samir asmal has this to say:
“We are an extremely new team. We haven’t played at a totally competitive level,” said Asmal.

“Initially we didn’t have all the resources, and now that we’ve got ourselves started, we can go from strength to strength.

“Realistically we are not expecting much from our performance, but we are going to be exposed to this, and what we can learn from it is what matters,” he said.

Which I believe is great that they has set there target and what there goal is to coming to the games and i am sure that no matter the outcome they will be better prepared and more geared towards bringing that trophy home.(my apologies for the lack of visuals seems the lenasia team has not been getting much publicity).

The team members vary in age from 18 to 40 and over.

Asmal, a defender, said the main objective was to get the physically disabled interested in sport irrespective of their ages.

“Most of the people we know were disabled through accidents and such occurrences, and what tends to happen is they normally go into a shell and they don’t want to socialise. Based on that, we formed the organisation and the team to allow them to get back into mainstream society.”

The reason being is because where off road bikes should be ridden,can be dangerous if heading out alone,that is why ‘the off road club’ is looking to bring atv and mx riders alike to join in and create a club where we can ride and enjoy and get to see what else Lenasia has,to be able to see the lovely trails going out of Lenasia whilst having the security and comfort of a big group of riders.

The off road club is looking to pull kids with bikes off the streets and to put them onto the dirt so the bikes are where they belong and where it is possible for them to keep out of trouble.

With that in mind by no means are they restricting it to only youngsters,we appeal to parents who have off road bikes to join as well so as to make this a activity the entire family can enjoy or something to get your mind off the stresses of work.

Sunday morning around 7 I was able to see what Bp nirvana petrol attendants do in order to remain inspired and on the top of there game on a 12 hour shift.

Recently Al-hudaar has undergone a project to build further infrastrucutre to accomodate 50 orphaned and abandoned kids and requires the community to please help in this undertaking.

The money collected will be used to:

1. Provide meals for children
2. Prayer facilities and Islamic teachings
3. Reconciliation of orphaned children and parents
4. The opportunity to allow the children to become part of the society and not feel abandoned or ashamed of who they are
5. Life skills
6. Clothing
7. And ofcourse funds to build the premises.

Al-Hudaar has priced the project at R800,000 to R1.5 million,All You need to provide is a R100(the price of a Mac Donalds mac meal,a movie and popcorn of one weekend) to support this initiative,and to be able to be part of the improvement of Lenasia and our community by helping young children off the streets.

Out of Lenasia’s large population all Al-Hudaar needs is for 10000 people to open there hearts and if they all provide R100 Al Hudaar will be able to open up there orphanage to truely help the Orphans of Lenasia.

Who will gladly be able to help you

Update: I found the schools real number and they dont know anything about this supposed excursion, the letterhead is actually forged and the digits changed on the telephone numbers, if you see this person please confiscate the letter immediately and contact us as we are in contact with the school or call the school directly on 011988 8240, ask to speak to a lady by the name of Khumo.

Police had observed very bad driving and gave chase to the robbers who then caught the attention of a nearby police helicopter who joined the pursuit resulting in the pilot being shot and having to fly his damaged helicopter to milpark hospital. Reports confirm that the pilot and his crew only suffered minor injuries.

As for the robbers three suspects have been court and are currently in custody
