මොරගහහේන ලියෝ සමාජය මතුගම සහ බෝකුන්දර ලියෝ සමාජ සමග එක්ව ලියෝ දිස්ත්‍රික්කය වෙනුවෙන් සංවිධානය කරන් ලැබූ මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය 2010/12/12 දින පැවැත්විනි.පෙ.ව 9.00ට පන්සිල් ලබාගැනීමෙන් පසු ආරම්භ කල මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතියේදී කඳු පාමුල සිට ලෙන දක්වා ගමන් කරන මාර්ගය ප්‍රතිසංස්කරණය කිරීමට අවශ්‍ය ද්‍රව්‍ය මාර්ගය දෙපස රැස් කිරීම සිදු කරන ලදි.පෙ.ව 11.30ට පමණ මතුගම ලියෝවරුන් අප සමග එක්විය.දහවල් 12.30ට පමණ දිවා ආහාරය ලබාගත් අප නැවතත් ප.ව 3.30 පමණ වනතුරු වැඩෙහි නිරත වීමු.සවස ප්‍රධාන ආරාධිත ලියෝ දුමිඳු සහ තවත් ලියෝ වරුන් පිරිසක් අප සමග එක්විය.වැඩ අවසන් වීමෙන් පසු ගඟෙන් නා පිරිසිඳු වී නැවත අප නිවෙස් බලා පිටත් වූ අපට එදින සදා මතකයේ රැඳෙන දිනයක් විය.

The Project “URUMAYA SURAKIMU” was organized by the Leo club of Moragahahena with Leo club of Mathugama and Leo club of Bokundara. This project organized on behalf of the Leo district council 306 A2. IPDP Leo Dumindu Jayakody participated as the Chief Guest of this service project. Leo club of Moragahahena hired a bus to travel Pahiyangala. On our way to Pahiyangala the Leos of Bokundara joined with us and according our schedule we started the project at 9.00 o’clock.

First we went to Pahiyangala cave, the Lord Buddha shrine built inside the cave. First of all we observe the “pansil”. Then we started to sharing the building materials from up to down. Meanwhile Mathugama Leos joined with us. At 11.30 a.m. we got a little break. Lion Ajitha aunty & Latha aunty helped to prepare our lunch. After the lunch we started our service & we used covering bags to shearing building materials from up to down. It was so hard move but it was help to save our time.

In the evening Leo Dumindu Jayakody(IPDP), District Council officers and visiting Leos joined with us. Lion club of Moragahahena guided this project A-Z. Finally we specially thank Lion Widyakeerthi Dissanayaka, the President of Lions club of Moragahahena and M.Jayantha, Leo advisor for helping to success this great project.

ශ්‍රී ජයවර්ධනපුර විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ ශිෂ්‍යාවක වන ලියෝ සකුන්තලා විසින් ඔවුන් විසින් සිදුකරන කණ්ඩායම් ව්‍යාපෘතිය සඳහා සහාය ලබා දෙන ලෙස අප මාසික රැස්වීමේදී කරනු ලැබූ ඉල්ලීමට අනුව පසුගිය දෙසැම්බර් මස 5වන දින පාදුක්ක රෝහලේ වැඩිහිටි සායන වාට්ටුවේ තීන්ත ආලේප කිරීම අප විසින් සිදු කරන ලදි.විශ්ව විද්‍යාලීය සිසුන් කිහිප දෙනෙක්ද එම අවස්ථාව සඳහා අප සමග එක් විය.

In our November monthly meeting Leo Sakunthala (Student of University of Sri Jayewardhanepura) requested a help for repairing the Elders Clinic Ward of Padukka hospital as their group project. On that meeting we decided to do the repainting of the ward on 05th December 2010.On that day we went to the hospital & cleaned the surrounding before painting. Few days before students of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura have repaired the damages of the ward. So after that we started the painting of the ward. Few Students of University of Sri Jayewardanepura joined with us on that day.When we end our work at about 3.00pm. It was quite beautiful to see after repainting.Chief Doctor & the staff of the hospital praised this great job and it became to remain in our minds.

රජය මගින් මෙම වසරේ සිට සා.පෙළ සිසුන් සඳහා අධ්‍යාපන සම්මන්ත්‍රණ ආරම්භ කල නිසා මොරගහහේන ලියෝ සමාජය 2006 වසරේ සිට අඛන්ඩව සංවිධානය කල අ.පො.ස (සා.පෙළ)සම්මන්ත්‍රණ මාලාව මෙවර නොපැවැත්වුනු අතර ඒ වෙනුවට සා.පෙළ සිසුන්ගේ මානසික පීඩනය අවම කර,විභාගයට මුහුණ දිය යුතු ආකාරය කියාදීමේ වැඩසටහනක් පැවැත්වීමට අධ්‍යක්ෂ මණ්ඩලය තීරණය කරණ ලදි.මෙම වැඩසටහන සඳහා සම්පත් දායකයා ලෙස ගාමිණී K. පෙරේරා මහතා (සහකාර කළමනාකාර-පාසල්) තෝරා ගත් අතර එතුමා සමඟ සාකච්චා කර දෙසැම්බර් 03 යොදා ගැනීමෙන් අනතුරුව ඒ සඳහා හොරණ ශ්‍රී මේධංකර විද්‍යාලයෙන් සහ හොරණ කලාප අධ්‍යාපන කාර්යාලයෙන් අවසර ලබා ගතිමු.අපගේ සම්පත් දායක ගාමිණී K.පෙරේරා මහතාගේ මග පෙන්වීම යටතේ සිසුන්ට ලබා දීම සඳහා මනස සැහැල්ලු කරගැනීමට මග පෙන්වන නිබන්ධනයක් සකස් කලෙමු.

දෙසැම්බර් මස 03 දින උදයේ පාසලට ගිය අප, අපගේ වැඩසටහන සඳහා ලබා දී තිබූ ශාලාව පිලියෙල කර සූදානම් වීමෙන් අනතුරුව පෙ.ව.9.00 වැඩසටහන ආරම්භ කරන ලදි.එම අවස්ථාව සඳහා ප්‍රධාන ආරාධිතයන් ලෙස අප මව් සිංහ සමාජයේ ලේකම් සිංහ වරුණකාන්ත පෙරේරා සහ මේධංකර විද්‍යලයේ විදුහල්පතිතුමා සහභාගී විය.වැඩසටහන අතර තුර ළමුන් විවිධ ප්‍රශ්ණ ගාමිණී K. පෙරේරා මහතාගෙන් විමසූහ.පෙ.ව 11.00ට පමණ සංග්‍රහයක් සමග විවේකය ලබා දුන් අතර නැවත 11.30 සිට ප.ව 1.00 වනතුරු වැඩසටහන පවත්වන ලදි. ප.ව 1.00 අපගේ වැඩසටහන අවසන් වීමෙන් අනතුරුව ඒ පිලිබඳව සිසුන්ගේ අදහස් විමසීමෙන් පසු ප.ව 1.30 සිට ලියෝ මධුර විසින් ගීත ගායනා කරමින් සිසුන්ට සමග විනෝද විය.

Leo Club of Moragahahena has organized “Vibhagayata Athwelak” O/L seminar series since 2006.But this year ministry of education has decided to conduct seminars for O/L students in all subjects. So we thought our programme may be useless. So we discuss about this in our director board meeting & decide to

conduct a new programme for O/L students for reducing pressure from their mind when they answering the

exam paper & teach them how they had to spend days near the exam. After taking decision in the director board meeting we took a name on our new programme as “Manasa Niwannata”. After that we planned how should we organized this programme. Then we select Sri Medhankara Maha Vidyalaya to conduct the programme & Mr.Gamini K. Perera (Ass.Manager-School) as our resource subscriber. After that we took permission from the principal of Sri Medhankara M.V. to conduct the programme on 03rd December. And then took permission fromZonal Education Office for conduct our programme & releasing Mr. Gamini on that day. After taking permissions we designed a tutorial for the programme under guidance of Mr.Gamini. On 03rd December we went to the Medhankara Vidyalaya around 7.00 am & prepare the hall for theprogramme. After lighting up the oil lamp, Programme Started at 9.00 am. While programme goes students

asked various questions about what should they want to do for reducing pressure from theirmind.Mr. Gamini explained well about it. We took an interval at 11.00 am. We gave refreshment to the students and after half an hour we start the programme again. After the interval Mr. Gamini explained how they had to spend days near the exam. The Programme ends at 1.00 pm.

After the ending students who participates for the programme thanks us &Mr. Gamini for conducting this programme. At last we discussed with the students to know their ideas about this programme. Then Leo Madhura added a little entertainment to make up the end colorfully. We think we’ve done a great thing & achieved our goal successfully.

ඔක්තෝබර් මස මාසික රැස්වීමේදී ලියෝ චාමර විසින් කරන ලද නව යෝජනාවක් අනුව ලියෝ තරුණ මධ්‍යස්ථානය අවට පරිසරය පිරිසිඳු කිරීමේ සහ මල් පැල සිටුවීමේ ව්‍යාපෘතියක් 2010/11/21 වන පොහෝ දින සිදුකෙරිනි.තරුණ මධ්‍යස්ථානය අවට පිරිසිඳු කිරීමෙන් පසු ඇන්තූරියම් වැනි මල් පැල වර්ග සහ විසිතුරු පැල වර්ග සිටුවීම සිදු කරන ලදි.

In our October monthly meeting, Leo Chamara gave a new idea for decorating Leo youth center. Actually, at that time all of us liked this idea. Leo Niluka Maduranga was proposed as the project chairman of this. We decided to organize this project in next “Full Moon Poya” day. Leo Niluka informed every one about this and said to bring flower plants and decorating items. Unfortunately on that day was a rainy day. But during that drizzle we launched our project. So firstly we cleaned the surrounding of Leo youth center. After that we planted variety plants there. However it was an enjoyable and successful project.

   මොරගහහේන ශ්‍රී පූර්වාරාම විහාරස්ථානයේ විහාරාධිපති ස්වාමීන් වහන්සේ විසින් අප ලියෝ සමාජයෙන් කරන ලද ඉල්ලීමක් අනුව අප ලියෝ සමාජය මගින් විහාරස්ථානයේ දාගැබ ශුද්ධ පවිත්‍ර කර තීන්ත ආලේප කිරීම පසුගිය නොවැම්බර් මස 7සහ 8 යන දෙදින සිදු කෙරිනි.පළමු දිනයේ පෙ.ව 10.00ට දාගැබ ශුද්ධ පවිත්‍ර කරීම් ආරම්භ කල අතර සවස 2.00ට පමණ ඇද හැලුනු අධික වර්ෂාව නිසා තීන්ත ආලේප කිරීම පසු දිනට කල් දමන ලදි.මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය සඳහා විහාරස්ථානයේ දායක සභාවේ සහයෝගයද අප වෙත ලබාදීමට ඔවුන් කටයුතු කලහ. අපගේ ව්‍යාපෘතිය විහාරාධිපති ස්වාමීන් වහන්සේගේ සහ අවට ජනතාවගේ නොමඳ පැසසුමට ලක්වූ එකක් විය.

   Beginning of this Leostic year 2010/2011 we could organize many service projects in the moragahahena area. As well as we organized a successful religious, service projects for our temple under the special request of the leader reverent (Loku Hamuduruwo) of our temple, Sri Poorwaramaya.
   Out task was the cleaning up & painting “Wehera”. We gladly accepted it. Our Leo advisor, Lion M.Jayantha always gave his fullest support for this valuable project. So he sponsored completely for this project.First of all we fixed a date for this & then informed our Leos about this matter. On that day we went to the temple at 10.00 am .At firstly we met leader reverent (Loku Hamuduruwo). Then we started our project, so firstly we cleaned up the “Wehera”. But unfortunately when we were cleaning the Wehera there was raining. So we postpone the project for the next week. In the next day we painted the “Wehera” completely. Leader reverent (Loku Hamuduruwo) of our temple speacialy appreciated us because of this religious activity.
   The people who were in the temple on that time praised our work & blessed us for brighter future.....
They said that was a great work as the younger generation .

“අත්වැල” ශිෂ්‍යත්ව වැඩසටහන “Athwela” Scholarship Programme

පසුගිය පෙබරවාරි මස කුවේණි වේදිකා නාට්‍ය වේදිකාගත කිරීමේදී අපගේ ප්‍රධාන ඉලක්කයක් වූයේ ප්‍රදේශයේ පාසල් වල ආර්ථික අපහසුතා ඇති සිසුන් සඳහා ශිෂ්‍යත්ව ලබා දීමයි.ඒ අනුව ලියෝ කනීල්ගේ ව්‍යාපෘති සභාපතිත්වයෙන් 2010/10/25 දින හොරණ ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලීය ශ්‍රවනාගාරයේදී ළමුන් 21 දෙනෙක් සඳහා ශිෂ්‍යත්ව ලබා දීම සිදු කෙරිනි.මේ අවස්ථාව සඳහා ප්‍රධාන ආරාධිත අමුත්තා ලෙස ආසන්නතම පෙර දිස්ත්‍රික් සිංහාධිපති සිංහ නිමල් අලුත්ගේ සහ ආරාධිතයින් ලෙස උප දිස්ත්‍රික් ලේකම් ප්‍රියන්ත හපුආරච්චි
මහතා සහ සිංහ වින්සන්ට් ජයවර්ධන සිංහ රංජිත් තිලකරත්න සහභාගී විය.

The stage drama “Kuweni” fund raising project was organized by Leo club of Moragahahena in leoistic year of 2009/2010.The main purpose of this project start a scholarship programme to the school going children of poor people in the village.So that we tried to active our main purpose in this leoistict year. However Leo Kaneel carried in this project to complete.First of all we informed about “Athwela” scholarship programme to school and selected 22 children in Horana area.Then we were finding sponsors and finally we could find 18 sponsors.We fixed a date on 25th October while we could book the divisional secretariat office auditorium. We gave free transport to the children, their guardians and teachers, who represent from each school from their school to divisional sec. office.IPDG Lion Nimal Aluthge participated as the chief guest and Assistance Divisional Secretary Mr.Priyantha Hapuarchchi participated as the guest of honor of this occasion. The ceremony was held on 9.30 am to 12.30 pm. While address the gathering IPDG Lion Nimal Aluthge achieved in this project and Leo Club of Moargahahena. Everyone who knew about “Athwela” scholarship programme admired us.

“ආරෝග්‍යා පරමා ලාභා” බහුවිධ වෛද්‍ය සායනය “Arogya Parama Labha” (Multi-Way Medical Camp)

Leo club of Moragahahena hand in hand with mother lions club Moragahahena launched a multipurpose medical campaign.Lion Waruna Kantha Perera & Leo Madhura Chathuranga rendered service as Project Chairmans of Lions club & Leo club of Moragahahena.The Lions club of Moragahahena was the Coordinator of the subscribing resource persons & all the expenses.The Leo club of Moragahahena functioned to give the publicity & duties on that day.IPDG of district 306A2 Lion Nimal Aluthge participated as chief guest. 15 Lions & 8 Leos participated for this project. Ayurvedic medical clinic, western medical clinic,Dental clinic & children’s dental care programme included to this campaign.Three ayurvedic specialists, from Meegoda Ayurvedic hospital 3 Ayurvedic specialists, 30 Ayurvedic students from Colombo Ayurvedic hospital rendered their service as resource subscriber for the ayurvedic medical clinic. Not only two lady doctors from Ampara base hospital rendered their service as resource subscriber for the western medical clinic & also a lady dentist rendered her service as the resource subscriber for the dental clinic.Five banners were displayed around the moragahahena area & an announcement was given previous day.Preparing the hall, refreshment & other works done by Leo club of moragahahena. So we could organize not only the best medical campaign on 22nd October within 9.00 am to 3.00 pm & also so many people gained the benefits from this medical campaign.

අප මව් සිංහ සමාජය මගින් නොකඩවා පවත්වාගෙන එන ව්‍යාපෘතියක් වන කැමිලා පාසලට රාත්‍රී ආහාර වේල ලබාදීම ව්‍යාපෘතිය මෙවරද පැවැත්වෙන බව අපගේ මාසික රැස්වීමේදී කරන ලද දැනුම් දීමක් අනුව අපද ඒ සඳහා සහභාගී වීමට තීරණය කරන ලදි.රාත්‍රී ආහාරය සඳහා ලබාදෙන ද්‍රව්‍ය සිංහ සමාජය මගින් බාරගෙන තිබු නිසා සබන්,දත් බෙහෙත් වැනි ප්‍රයෝජනවත් ද්‍රව්‍ය ලබාදෙමින් ඒ සඳහා සහභාගී වීමට අප තීරණය කරන ලදි.ඒ අනුව 2010/10/17 දින සවස 6.00ට පමන එහි ගිය අප ආහාර ද්‍රව්‍ය හා අනෙකුත් ද්‍රව්‍ය එහි පාලකයන්ට ලබා දීමෙන්පසු ඔවුන් විසින් ලමුන්ගේ ආහාරය සකස් කර දෙන ලදි.ආහාර ගැනීමට පෙර සුළු වේලාවක‍් ඔවුන් අප සමග ගීත ගයමින් විනෝද විය.

Leo club of Moragahahena & Lions club of Moragahahena jointly organized alms giving project named "Obath Api Wage" on 17th October. Our parents Lions Club had reserved a day and they had entrusted dinner items among members. So we decided to participate this social event with as much as useful items for that place.On that day when we reached there some of children of the Camila School were playing some games.In spite of their minds were in bad condition, all of them maintained a habit that doing works according to a time table. After we gave our dinner items to their rulers of that place they prepared the dinner. They had become the parents of the children already.Certainly, the children were very happy from dinner and it gave glad feelings to us.

මේ දින වල පවතින අධික වර්ෂාවත් සමඟ ඩෙංගු වැනි වසංගත පැතිරීමේ අවදානමක් පවතී.ඒ අනුව වූ යෝජනාවක් අනුව සහ සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යශය මගින් ඩෙංගු මර්ධන සතියක් නම් කිරීම නිමිති කර ගෙන ක්‍රියාත්මක කල මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය සඳහා හොරණ ප්‍රාදේශීය සභාවේද සහයෝගය ලැබුනි.දූමායන යන්ත්‍ර දෙකක්,ට්‍රැක්ටරයක් සහ කම්කරැවන් දෙදෙනෙක් ප්‍රාදේශීය සභාව මගින් ලබා දුනි.මෙහිදී ප්‍රදේශවාසීන් අතර අත්පත්‍රිකා බෙදාදීම,මදුරුවන් බෝ වන ස්ථාන විනාශ කිරීම,එම ස්ථාන දූමායනය සහ මදුරුවන් බෝ විය හැකි තැඹිලි කෝම්බ,සැමන් ටින් ආදිය එක්රැස් කර නිසි ලෙස බැහැර කිරීම සිදුවිය.ප්‍රදේශවාසීන් අතර බෙදාදුන් අත් පත්‍රිකා අප වෙත ලබා දුන්නේ සහෝදර මත්තේගොඩ ලියෝ සමාජය විසිනි.ඔක්තෝබර් 9 වන දින පෙ.ව 9.00 සිට පැවැත්වුනු මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය සඳහා ප්‍රධාන ආරාධිත අමුත්තා ලෙස සිංහ විද්‍යාකීර්ති දිසානායක සහභාගි වූ අතර මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතියේ සභාපතිත්වය ලියෝ සමීර සංජය විසින් දරනු ලැබීය.

“Dengue Uwadura Madalamu” Dengue prevention & awareness project was a successful project by Leo club of Moragahahena on time. The special thing is after our suggestion to do this project, Ministry of health named a week for the dengue prevention programmes.Delivered leaflets about dengue fever for people donated by Leo club of Mattegoda, destroyed places where mosquitoes breed and displayed a cutout on a moragahahena junction about dengue fever included for this project.Divisional council of Horana gave us a tractor, smoking machine, food, 2 labourers and Lions club moragahahena joined with us.This project was held on 9th October at 9.00am onwards on Moargahahena junction. Lion Widyakeerthi Dissanayake was participated as the chief guest of this project and Leo Sameera Sanjaya organized this project as a project chairman.

අප මව් සිංහ සමාජය මගින් නොකඩවා වාර්ෂිකව සංවිධානය කරන බෝපත් ඇල්ල අවට පරිසරය පිරිසිඳු කිරීමේ ව්‍යපෘතිය සඳහා අපහට කෙරුනු ආරාධනාවක් අනුව අපද ඒ සඳහා සහභාගී වීමු.උදෑසන 8.00 ගමන් ආරම්භ කල අපට මධ්‍යහ්න 12.00ට පමන බෝපත් ඇල්ල වෙත ලඟාවීමට හැකිවිය.ව්‍යපෘතිය ආරම්භ කිරීමට පෙර කුඩා රැස්වීමක් පැවැත්විනි.මෙම අවස්ථාව සඳහා ප්‍රධාන ආරාධිතයා ලෙස උප කැබිනට් ලේකම් සිංහ පාලිත විජේගුණවර්ධන සහභාගීවිය.ඉන් පසු කුඩා කණ්ඩායම් 2කට බෙදා එක් කණ්ඩායමක් පරිසරය රැකගැනීමේ වැදගත්කම සඳහන් පුවරු සවිකිරීමේ නිරත වූ අතර අනෙක් කණ්ඩායම පිරිසිඳු කිරීම් කටයුතුවල නිරත විය.අවට තිබූ පොලිතීන් උර,ප්ලාස්ටික් බෝතල් විශාල ප්‍රමාණයක් එකතුකර ඉවත් කිරීමට අපට හැකිවිය.සවස 4.00ට පමන අපගේ පා සටහන් පමනක් ඉතිරි කර ආපසු පිටත් වීමු.ඕනෑම දිගු ගමනක ඇරඹුම ඒ සඳහා තබන පළමු පියවර වන නිසා අප රටේ සුන්දරත්වය වර්ධනය කරන මෙවන් ස්ථාන රැකගැනීමට පළමු පියවර අප තැබූ බව එසේ සනිටුහන් කලෙමු.

Our parent Lions club annually organizes a project of cleaning the surrounding of Bopath Ella as an environmental,continuous – service project. In this term, Leos of Leo club of Moragahahena got the opportunity to join this environmental project from the invitation of President of parent Lions club. According to that, we gathered with Lions and decided how to organize our project. So, at that moment a day was fixed on.On that day we left for the journey with Lions at about 8.00 am. It was an enjoyable journey. We were able to reach Rathnapura at about 12.00 noon. First of all,before starting the project a small gathering was held. At that moment Deputy Cabinet Secretary of District 306 A2,Lion Palitha Gunawardhane participated there as the Chief Guest.Then we started this great environmental project energetically after dividing two small groups. When one of groups installed some notice boards that mentioned small statements about value of preserving Bopath Ella, another group collected polythene, plastics and pieces of glass and such as wastes. They were able to collect considerable amount of wasting materials. So we were very happy that we could
do our great job successfully.With the conclusion of the project everyone had got tired well. So we dined in the water for missing the tiredness and getting the enjoyment on well. Then after got the lunch we left from the place at about 4.00 p.m.with leaving behind only foot prints there.We could achieve our task well because we work hard with the feelings of team spirit and co-operation as well as we could pay people’s attention for the environment through this great job.

නොකඩවා 9වන වරටත් පවත්වනු ලැබූ නායකත්ව පුහුනු වැඩමුලුව 2010/09/22 වන දින මොරගහහේන ලියෝ තරුණ මධ්‍යස්ථානයේදී පැවැත්විනි.මෙවර වැඩමුලුව පවත්වනු ලැබූයේ විශ්‍රාමික කැඩෙට් නිලධාරීවරයෙකු වන ගුණතිලක බණ්ඩා මහතා විසිනි.ඔහු විසින් නායකයෙකු යනු කව‍රෙක්ද,නායකයෙකු සතු ගුණාංග හා හැකියාවන් පිලිබඳව පැහැදිලි කරන ලදි.අපගේ මාසික රැස්වීමට පෙර පවත්වනු ලබන මෙම වැඩසටහන සඳහා මෙවර ලියෝ වරුන් 15ක් පමන සහභාගී විය.

We organized our continuous, Leadership Building programme for Leos on 22nd September at Leo Youth Centre, Moragahahena.This programme was conducted by former cadet officer Mr.Goonathilaka Banda.Firstly we welcomed him lovingly & after Leo Kalindu invited to him to conduct the programme. At the first he explained who is the Leader & how it affect for developing Leadership qualities, abilities etc.
And then he spoke about the importance of leadership building. Through the various topics he spoke about the leadership.After the programme we awarded a gift & gave a fresh treat him.More than 15 Leos took part for this event & it was a successful project that held in 9th term.

අධ්‍යක්ෂ මණ්ඩල රැස්වීමේදී ඉදිරිපත් කල නව අදහසක් වූයේ මරණයට කැපවූ ගවයෙකු නිදහස් කිරීමයි.ඒ අනුව “කිරි අම්මාට කලගුණ සලකමු”නමින් මරණයට කැපවූ ගවයෙකු නිදහස් කිරීමේ ව්‍යාපෘතිය දියත් කරන ලදි.ඒ සඳහා අවට වැසියන්ගේද සහයෝගය ලබාගැනීමට සිතූ අප ලියෝ වරුන් දින ගනනාවක් පුරා මොරගහහේන අවට නිවාස වලට ගොස් රු.10 පමන සිට රු 1000 පමන දක්වා අධාර එකතු කලහ.එසේ එකතු කරගත් රු30000ක පමණ මුදලින් ගවයෙකු මිලදීගෙන රැක බලාගැනීම සඳහා 2010/09/22 දින මොරගහහේන මංසන්ධියේදී 306 A2 දිස්ත්‍රික් සිංහධිපති සිංහ චන්ද්‍රා කටුවාවල සිංහයා අතින් මොරගහහේනේ පදිංචි ගුණපාල මහතාට බාර දෙන ලදි.එම අවස්ථාව සඳහා පෙර දිස්ත්‍රික් සිංහාධිපති සිංහ නිමල් අලුත්ගේ,මොරගහහේන පොලිස් ස්ථානාධිපතිතුමා,මොරගහහේන සිංහ සමාජ සභාපතිතුමා ඇතුලු සිංහයන් පිරිසක් සහ ලියෝ කලාපීය සභාපති ලියෝ ලක්ශ්‍රී සහ ලියෝ වරුන් 11දෙනෙක්,සිංහයින් 9 දෙනෙක් සහ ප්‍රදේශවාසීන් 200 දෙනෙක් පමන සහභාගී විය.

At the board meeting of the directors’ one of the Leo, Leo Dulanja presented a valuable idea about a freeing of a Cow from a slaughter house. Therefore we got together and carried out a program to educate the society about the value of the Cow and the injustice meted out by selling these innocent animals to the slaughter house Our biggest challenge was to establish a sufficient fund for this purpose. It was decided to prepare some tills and collect money from the people of the area. As a result of their perseverance we were able to collect a substantial amount of nearly Rs.30, 000/=. It made us possible to free a Cow from the slaughterhouse. Thereafter, arrangements were made to handover it to a person in the area who cares cattle. And with a small function prepared by us for this purpose in the morning hours on 22nd September 2010, action has been
taken to duly empower the ownership of this creature with a message to the society about the importance of protecting these animals. 306 A2 District Governor Lion Chandra Katuwawala, MJF (DG)participated in this occasion as the chief guest while former District Governor Lion Nimal Aluthge, MJF (IPDG) and our Leo District Zonal President Laksri Mahesh participated as special guests. This occasion was further brighten by
the unexpected arrival of District Governor and former District Governor. With the lighting of oil lamp venerable members of clergy’s chanted pirith and pirith chanted water was sprinkled on the Cow. While addressing the gathering District Governor said that it was a great pleasure for him to have taken part in
this occasion and overjoyed by witnessing the great effort made by Leos setting an example to the society and carrying out a task in this nature. .Then the most awaited act of handing over the animal was performed with the blessing of the people who have gathered there to witness the event With the successful end of this novel task we were able to open the eyes and attract the attention of the people towards the many activities performed by Leo Club of Moragahahena.11 Leos, 1 Prospect,Leo Advisor, 9 Lions,More than 200 participants are participated at that moment.

We organize a shramadana campaign at “Kunbuk Sewana” Elders Home, Kahatapitiya on the 29th August. It was the first part of "Engaging our Youth" that was mainly organized by Chief coordinator of Opportunities for youth , President of Lions Club of Moragahahena , Lion Widyakeerthi Dissanayake. Therefore Lions club of Moragahahena organized this project with main objective of engaging youth according to International Governor’s them for month of August and for activating this great project,they invited Leo Club of Moragahahena, UOM, Piliyandala and Dehiwala – East.According that the morning session reserved for “Respecting Elders”. So that we gathered to start our Shramadana campaign at “Kumbuk Sewana”Elders Home under the leading of our project chairman, Leo Kalindu. District Vice President, Leo Kasun Pathirana was the chief guest of this project. Unfortunately on the time the climate was bad. So we couldn’t do our shramadana campaign never the less we got together and spent this period with the elders well. It was a great moment for respecting elders.At first we decided to spend this period in a useful manner. Although elders are a group of must be respect in the society, at the present a lemon table situation was become for them. Most of them feel the sorrow which results in longing to see. So that we gave a fresh treat them through entertaining items.As well as we shared their sorrows and happiness through singing, chatting, joking etc. The period that was important us because we could improve our knowledge from their feelings and ideas.

උදය වරුව වැඩිහිටියන්ට ගරු කිරීම වෙනුවෙන් වෙන්කල අප සවස් වරුව වෑතර රෝහලේ මාතෘ හා ළමා සායන වාට්ටුව අවට පිරිසිඳු කිරීමට සහ එහි තීන්ත ආලේප කිරීම වෙනුවෙන් වෙන්කර තිබිනි.ඒ සඳහා ලියෝ සමාජ 4 සහ මොරගහහේන සිංහ සමාජය එක්විය.ඔක්ෂිජන් සිලින්ඩර රඳවනයක් පරිත්‍යාග කිරීමද එහිදී සිදුවිය.එම අවස්ථාව සඳහා අපගේ ආරාධිතයා ලෙස අප සමග එක්වූ දිස්ත්‍රික් සිංහාධිපති සිංහ චන්ද්‍රා කටුවාවල මැතිඳුන්ගේ සහ එහි සිටි පිරිසගේ නොමඳ පැසසුම එම සත්කාර්යය බඳුන් විය.ආසන්නතම ලියෝ පෙර දිස්ත්‍රික් සභාපති ලියෝ දුමිඳු ජයකොඩි ද අප සමග ඒ සඳහා එක්විය.ඒ සඳහා සහභාගී වූ අප සැමට සැමදා මතකයේ රැඳෙන ව්‍යාපෘතියක් බවට එය පත්විය.

The focal point of this year International Presidents’ Theme “A BEACON OF HOPE” is Service. Main service campaign scheduled for the month of August is “ENGAING OUR YOUTH”.According to the International Presidents’ Theme, the service Project was held on 29th September 2010 and participated Lions Club of Moragahahena and 4 Leo Clubs .The project was held during the whole day with 4 Elders
Homes (Morning session) & Maternity and Child ward of Wethara Hospital (Evening Session).In the morning session the Leos organized a Alms giving programs, Cleaning programs and Entertaining programs at the Elders homes .The evening session all the Leos and the Lions were participated to clean and paint the maternity and Children ward of Wethara Hospital At the end of the day the Oxygen Cylinder Container was donated to the Wethara Hospital also.

මල් දන්සැල “ Mal Dansela”

ආරම්භක වර්ෂයේ පමන සිට මාසිකව පවත්වාගෙන එන මල් දන්සැල මෙම මස 2010/08/24 වන පෝය දින කහටපිටිය ශ්‍රී සුනේත්‍රාරාම විහාරස්ථානයේදී පැවැත්විනි.ලියෝ කලිඳු දිසානායක ව්‍යාපෘති සභාපතිත්වය දරන මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය සඳහා එදින ලියෝ උපදේශකතුමා සහ ලියෝ වරුන් 8 දෙනෙකු සහභාගී විය.

Mal dansala is one of our continuous project.We held monthly this project at the temple of Sri Sunethraramaya,Kahatapitiya.The chairman of the project is Leo Kalindu Dissanayaka.we went to the temple on 24th August(Poya day) with white, charming dresses.We stared our project at 6.00 p.m with pleasant minds.At that time about 120 devotees were in the temple.It was a very successful project.

අප මව් සිංහ සමාජය මගින් නොකඩවා පවත්වාගෙන එන ව්‍යාපෘතියක් වන කැමිලා පාසලට රාත්‍රී ආහාර වේල ලබාදීම ව්‍යාපෘතිය මෙවරද පැවැත්වෙන බව අපගේ මාසික රැස්වීමේදී කරන ලද දැනුම් දීමක් අනුව අපද ඒ සඳහා සහභාගී වීමට තීරණය කරන ලදි.රාත්‍රී ආහාරය සඳහා ලබාදෙන ද්‍රව්‍ය සිංහ සමාජය මගින් බාරගෙන තිබු නිසා සබන්,දත් බෙහෙත් වැනි ප්‍රයෝජනවත් ද්‍රව්‍ය ලබාදෙමින් ඒ සඳහා සහභාගී වීමට අප තීරණය කරන ලදි.ඒ අනුව 2010/08/24 දින සවස 6.00ට පමන එහි ගිය අප ආහාර ද්‍රව්‍ය හා අනෙකුත් ද්‍රව්‍ය එහි පාලකයන්ට ලබා දීමෙන් පසු ඔවුන් විසින් ලමුන්ගේ ආහාරය සකස් කර දෙන ලදි.ආහාර ගැනීමට පෙර සුළු වේලාවක‍් ඔවුන් අප සමග ගීත ගයමින් විනෝද විය.

We could know our parents Lions club continuously organize alms giving ceremony to Camila School, Mattegoda from Lions Club President, Lion Widyakeerthi Dissanayake. As well as this month they were going to organize this project and they hoped to join Leo club of Moragahahena for that project.So that our club President, Leo Kalindu informed us about these information at the monthly meeting. When we know this information our parents Lions Club had reserved a day and they had entrusted dinner items among members. So we decided to participate this social event with as much as useful items for that place.On that day when we reached there some of children of the Camila School were playing some games. In spite of their minds were in bad condition, all of them maintained a habit that doing works according to a time table. After we gave our dinner items to their rulers of that place they prepared the dinner. They had become the parents of the children already.Certainly,the children were very happy from dinner and it gave glade feelings to us.When we spend time with them we could know they are maintaining this institution in many difficulties.It was a great moment to give our helping hands for one side of the society and we are planning to organize several projects joining with our parents Lions club for the community.

5 වසර ශිෂ්‍යත්ව පෙරහුරු සම්මන්ත්‍රනය 5 Year Scholarship Seminar

මොරගහහේන අවට පාසල් වල 5 වසර ශිෂ්‍යත්ව විභාගය සඳහා පෙනී සිටින ළමුන් උදෙසා පෙරහුරු සම්මන්ත්‍රනයක් වර්ෂිකව මොරගහහේන ලියෝ සමාජය සහ සිංහ සමාජය මගින් පවත්වයි.මොරගහහේන මහා විද්‍යාලයෙන් සම්මන්ත්‍රනය පැවැත්වීම සඳහා අවසර ලබාගත් පසු 2010/08/13 දින සම්මන්ත්‍රනය පැවැත්වීමට තීරනය කරන ලදි.මෙම සම්මන්ත්‍රනය ආරම්භ කිරීම සඳහා ප්‍රධාන ආරාධිත අමුත්තා ලෙස සිංහ නිෂාම් ජ්‍යාහ් සිංහයානන්ට මොරගහහේන සිංහ සමාජය විසින් ආරාධනා කරන ලද අතර ඔහු ඒ සඳහා සහභාගී විය.ඊට අමතරව මොරගහහේන මහා විද්‍යාල‍යේ නියෝජ්‍ය විදුහල්පතිතුමා, මොරගහහේන සිංහ සමාජයේ සභාපතිතුමා සහ ලියෝ සමාජයේ සභාපතිතුමා ඇතුළු බොහෝ දෙනෙක් ආරම්භක අවස්ථාව සඳහා සහභාගී විය.

At the present, 5 year scholarship has become very competitive examination among grade 5 students. It is public all urban and rural students. However we saw student who are studying in urban schools has come forward in this examination. As a result of this matter before few years we attempted to do this project on behalf of rural students in our area so that we are able to lead them to sit for the scholarship examination very well. As well as this year with that great expectation we provide for this annual project joining with our parents Lions club.Along with our Lions we informed the principal and teachers of the Moragahahena
Maha Vidyalaya. Then a date was fixed for that. Along with the parent Lions Club we invited Lion Nizam jayah as the chief guest and Mr. Mangala Dharmasri to conduct the seminar.This Program held on the 13th August 2010 at Moragahahena Maha Vidyalaya. Firstly the traditional oil lamp was lightening by Chief Guest Lion Nizam Jayah.Then the vice principal of Moragahahena Maha Vidyalaya , Presidents of Lions Club of Moragahahena & Leo club of Moragahahena took part of this event. A lot of students in Grade 5 from Moragahahena area participated for this seminar.Not only students of Moragahahena M.V there also grade 5 students of Millewa K.V, Olaboduwa M.V, Sugathapala K.V,Pitipana K.V got together for this great occasion. About 150 students and 5 teachers and about 25 parents helped us to make this occasion success.

Mr. Mangala Darmasri who conducts this seminar prepared the model examination paper specially focused on scholarship examination. The paper began at 9.00 am and maintained until 2.00 pm with discussing. So the students were given a small treat at the interval. All financial works were done by Lions Club of Moragahahena.

2010/07/25 වන පොහෝ දින තලගල භවනා මධ්‍යස්ථානයේ භාවනානුයෝගීන්ට සහ හාමුදුරුවන් වහන්සේලා සඳහා උදේ දානය අප ලියෝ වරුන් විසින් පිරිනමන ලදි.මේ සඳහා අප ලියෝ උපදේශක සිංහ එම්.ජයන්තයන් විසින් අනුග්‍රහය දක්වන ලදි.මෙම අවස්ථාවට සිංහයන්ගේ පවුල්වල සමාංජිකයන් බොහෝ දෙනෙක් සහභාගී විය.එම අවස්ථාව එහි සිටි බොහෝ දෙනාගේ පැසසුමට ලක්වූ එකක් විය.

In this new Leostic year we have planned to organized various kind of service projects. So that recently we jointed with our parents lions club & organized a alms giving program for devotees who observed sill in Wipassana meditation center Thalagala.It was a largest project that we organized jointly in this period. Leo advisor, Lion Jayantha sponsored completely for this project.On that day about 200 devotees got observed sill at meditation center. Leo advisor and his family members gave their fullest support for preparing meals. After got ready ever thing we went there on time. First we prepared “Buddha pujawa” and after offered it.Then we helped to dish up the breakfast & lunch among devotees. At that moment family members of advisor Lions got together with us too.Most of people in there, praised this great job and it became to remain in our minds.

ලියෝ කායවර්ධන මධ්‍යස්ථානය Leo Gymnasium

අප ලියෝ වරුන් උදෙසා කායවර්ධන මධ්‍යස්ථානයක් ආරම්භ කිරීම සඳහා වූ යෝජනාවක් අනුව 2010/07/24 දින මොරගහහේන ලියෝ තරුණ මධ්‍යස්ථානයේදී ජේෂ්ඨ උප කැබිනට් ලේකම් සිංහ K.G විජේසිරි සිංහයා අතින් එය විවෘත කෙරිනි.මෙම අවස්ථාව සඳහා මොරගහහේන සිංහ සමාජයේ සභාපති සිංහ විද්‍යාකීර්ති දිසානායක ලියෝ උපදේශක සිංහ එම්.ජයන්ත ඇතුළු සිංහයන්ගේ හා අප ලියෝ සමාජයේ ලියෝ වරුන් සහභාගී විය.

PDP Leo Chatura gave the new idea for the club to open the Leo Gymnasium for all the Leos & Lions in Moragahahena.So we selected him as the project chairman of this project. We brought Gym tools under the leasing system for 7 months.Leo club of Moragahahena gave a lone to success this project. We hope to take a fund to our Leo club from this project.Leo Gymnasium was opened by Lion K.G. Wijesiri, Senior Deputy Cabinet Secretary of Lions District 306 A2 on 24th July,9.30 p.m. at Leo Youth Center –Moragahahena. Regional Director Leo Kaneel Maddumage, Parents Lions club president & so many Lions participated this event.

අපේ ස්ථාපන උළෙල Our Instalation

අප ලියෝ සමාජයේ 2010/2011 වසර සඳහා නව නිළධාරී මණ්ඩලය ස්ථාපනය කිරීම සහ නව ලියෝ වරුන් බඳවා ගැනීමේ ස්ථාපන උළෙල 2010/07/17 දින මොරගහහේන අරලිය උත්සව ශාලාවේදී පැවැත්විනි.

මෙම අවස්ථාව සඳහා ප්‍රධාන ආරාධිත අමුත්තා ලෙස නව දිස්ත්‍රික් සභාපති ලියෝ තිලිණි ජයවීර ද විශේෂ ආරාධිත අමුත්තා ලෙස පෙර දිස්ත්‍රික් සභාපති ලියෝ දුමිඳු ජය‍කොඩි ද සහභාගී විය.

මෙහිදී 1 වන උප සභාපති ලෙස ලියෝ සමිත් සඳරුවන් ද 2වන උප සභාපති ලෙස ලියෝ දුලංජ දිනූෂාන් ද 3 වන උප සභාලති ලෙස ලියෝ සමීර සංජය ද ස්ථාපනය කරනු ලැබීය.

එමෙන්ම 2010/2011 වසරේ සභාපති ලෙස ලියෝ කලිඳු ඉන්දීවර දිසානායක ස්ථාපනය කරනු ලැබිනි.

මෙම උත්සව අවස්ථාව සඳහා අප ලියෝ සමාජයේ ලියෝ වරුන් මෙන්ම මොරටුව මත්තේගොඩ වේරහැර ඇතුළු ලියෝ සමාජ වල ලියෝ වරුන් සහභාගී විය.

New Leostic year brings a new change to Leos’ minds. Leo club of Moragahahena is being passed 5th Anniversary in this leostic year.We got together, discussed with our new directors board & how we organize our 5th installation ceremony.We decided to hold our installation ceremony on 17th July 2010 at “Araliya” reception hall at 4.30 p.m. onwards.Our hopeful day was come. Leo Thilini Jayaweera, District President of Leo District 306 A2 participated as the chief gust of this ceremony. But unfortunately our guest of honor Mr. Shehan Kumar informed us he couldn’t participate for this because of he was falling ill.Then we came to special occasion for this session.Leo Thilini Jayaweera, District President of Leo District 306 A2 called & installed new key club officers for leostic year 2010/2011.
Then we gave special awards for Leo advisor & evaluated teachers.Every year O/L seminar was done by these teachers.

We prepared dinner for all.After that we started our "Paduru party".Leo Janaka,Leo Madhura & Mr.Naveen Gallage was
being played instruments & helped us.It was not only a pleasurable moment but also it was a ceremony with flying colours.
