When &lt;a href="http://twitter.com/lepauleon"&gt;Twitter&lt;/a&gt; started, with a basic design and just the little bird, someone sent me an invite and I signed up. Of course, I thought it was just one of those new fad going nowhere so I did not follow up.&lt;br /&gt;
Amazingly, in months I realized that it was becoming the new fad, so I tried to get back to log in. Guess what? I could not remember my password and could not find it written down any where so I had to request a new one. Since then I grew from a&amp;nbsp;meager&amp;nbsp;maybe 10 or so followers to currently over 1300.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
What is my point? Along with &lt;a href="http://facebook.com/leonardsappleton"&gt;Facebook&lt;/a&gt;, which I also joined in its infancy, these are the the two most formidable sources of socializing online with the capacity to make friends who can later become customers for your online offers.&lt;br /&gt;
Much has been written about using these two&lt;a href="http://socialbookmarkingexposed.com/?rid=/5486"&gt; social media&lt;/a&gt; and there is a plethora of tools being sold on how to utilize them for profit. By all means, as a newcomer, you may want to purchase some of these tools, but be reminded also that there is a host of free information available. Search for them and use them wisely. If you haven't joined either of these sites as yet, go do so now!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Finally, do not start socializing on these sites and&amp;nbsp;immediately&amp;nbsp;bombard your followers or friends with links for them to buy something; this will automatically happen in the exchanges as you socialize. Well, I can always rely on my inbox to feed me with the latest hogwash.&lt;br /&gt;

So,what has been happening since my latest post? I have been given a daily dose of so-called: "watch this free video." Honestly, I am skeptical of anything that says free but for the most part, I do watch them through in order to assess the content. Apart from making a lot of claims about how they have stolen the Gurus secrets and how they have been lucky to be invited to exclusive Internet marketing millionaires meetings; they all end on the same note: The presenter has perfected a software that can make money like clockwork without product, website, CPA, PPC and the usual mix of Internet marketing SEO tactics. The presenter wants to get back at the Gurus for fleecing them out of their hard- earned dollars, so they are selling this software for a minimal charge of say 47 or 49 dollars.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This had me thinking that,&amp;nbsp;if&amp;nbsp; I have discovered a software that can land millions of dollars in my Clickbank or Paypal account in days, and it works twenty four seven, then&amp;nbsp;I am doing one of two things. I am either keeping it so tight against my chest that&amp;nbsp;I can hardly breathe, or since there is no competition against me making big bucks, then&amp;nbsp;I could give it away for free! I would have absolutely no need to be asking someone to listen to me expound the value of this software on twenty to thirty minutes of their precious time, then beg and beseech them in the end not to give up this opportunity for a measly 47 or 49 dollars. Frankly,&amp;nbsp;I would not need anyone's 47 or 49 dollars.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Therefore, my honest conclusion must be that it is another in a set of desperate bid to nullify the effects that the Google Slap has placed on their capacity to full their pockets from unsuspecting prospects. Take heed, newcomers, if the Video sounds and looks too good to be true, it probably is not true. I went out on the verge of the “Google slap” and the eve of the recession. Both phenomena seem to have descended on us according to an ordered plan. Hooray Google, time for a change! What a timely natural protection to the hard earned dollars of simple web folks like myself and other “Triers” and “Newcomers.” &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;"&gt;Anyway, enough digression, I was talking about the internet marketing shift. So I returned to find my mailboxes and my social sites communications filled to the brim with new offers couched and packaged in a new way:&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;Internet marketing shift number one&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;"&gt;: while former offers used to stress how to maximize your website through Pay per click, Google Adwords, Search engine organization, Article marketing, &lt;a href="http://www.amazon.com/Zen-Social-Media-Marketing-Credibility/dp/1935251732?ie=UTF8&amp;amp;tag=le0dc-20&amp;amp;link_code=btl&amp;amp;camp=213689&amp;amp;creative=392969" target="_blank"&gt;social media &lt;/a&gt;&lt;img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=le0dc-20&amp;amp;l=btl&amp;amp;camp=213689&amp;amp;creative=392969&amp;amp;o=1&amp;amp;a=1935251732" style="border: none !important; margin: 0px !important; padding: 0px !important;" width="1" /&gt;marketing and the regular run of the mill solution, they were now all asking me to make money without using any of these-what a turnaround! This is what you call forced innovation! I used to hate that entire web tweaking crap anyway. I always thought there were easier and better ways to maximize internet marketing and I still do. Now the Gurus are telling us to ignore everything that they usually chuck down our throats-what a laugh on them! &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;"&gt;Internet marketing shift number two:&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;"&gt;formerly the gurus would bore me to death with sales letter and testimonials so long that I would quickly scroll down to the bottom of the offer, check out the asking price and be on my merry way. I always thought only insane individuals would read through all that junk!&amp;nbsp; Tell me the truth about your product and I will prove it when I purchase. Come on this is the internet! Anyone can get any number of glowing testimonials, and with current day technology, anyone can display accounts with six figures or more! But I digress again. This time I was not only presented with web tweaking alternatives but I was looking at a presenter through video and therefore had a connection to a real person. Hooray to Video Marketing. Even if the hype and the slick sales talk remains, at least you see who is doing it-welcome change indeed, and at least I listen all the way.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

Now that you can look at a person, he or she cannot sell you junk and get away with it that easily. I still find some videos though, a little excessive in harping on how they have found the solution to making loads of money without SEO, PPC, Google Adwords, Social media marketing etc., and some a little too melodramatic.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

Appearance is also important in terms of aesthetics. Unattractive  domain names may turn off potential visitors to your site. Try for  example: cheapdogfoodfortherichandfamous.net. Definitely unattractive  and controversial. Why would the rich and famous worry about price? They  would probably worry more about quality. The glaring truth is that, until recently, only  about five percent of these people succeed. It is to these people that  most of the early Internet Marketers appealed with their products and  have now become the Gurus.&lt;br /&gt;
The recent trend, however, is that a  very large number of programs and tools are being geared towards a more  'leading by the hand approach' to newcomers, rather than the old  exploitative approach. Some of these programs and tools have come about  as a result of individuals who were 'ripped off' in their early  beginnings and are seeking to be more helpful to those who are in the  position they used to be. Others have come about as a result of the  Gurus being forced to be more helpful, simply because of the rapidly  increasing changes and discoveries in the area of such tools and  programs, making some of their earlier offers almost obsolete.&lt;br /&gt;
So,  let us examine some of these trends as they relate to the newcomers.&lt;br /&gt;
A  search of the Yahoo and Google search engines was done using two search  titles. For the title internet marketing for newbies Yahoo shows  14,000,000,listings while Google shows 604,000 listings. In this mix a  fairly significant number cater to free programs and tools.&lt;br /&gt;
So  then, what are some of the better solutions to the basic newbie problems  of; little technical knowledge, limited cash , no website, no idea  about traffic generation, no product?&lt;br /&gt;

“Let’s say you know something about rose gardening. You love rose  gardening. You’re probably an expert at it, even though you don’t  realize it, because this is your passion.&lt;br /&gt;
Your marketplace would be other people that are interested in rose  gardening. You can create a report, audio, video… something that is  valuable information about rose gardening… maybe how to prune them…how  to do something. I don’t know much about rose gardening, so I don’t  specifically know what that would be.&lt;br /&gt;
Then you go find the people who have traffic with people coming in  looking to buy roses, information about how to care for their roses,  what roses to plant, where to plant them, how to trim them, how to cut  them, and all that cool stuff that people do.&lt;br /&gt;
You then go to those people who are driving in traffic and acquiring  subscribers. You say to them, ‘Listen, I’ve got this information that is  of value to your visitors. So when you offer it to them, Mr. Rose  Grower, you’re going to be a good guy. You’re giving them free  information that they’d otherwise have to go down to the garden store or  Home Depot and give money for. You’re giving it away free. That’s going  to help you out and help your creditability, make your customers like  you better, make you seem like a nice guy, and help you build your  list.’&lt;br /&gt;
In turn, you get a little good will, good karma, some subscribers,  and potentially customers. Obviously, you don’t need to tell them this.  This is just something for them to figure out. They’re distributing your  product that leads them back to your website so that they might buy  from you. This doesn’t hurt them at all because you’re not competing  with them directly.&lt;br /&gt;
Using this method, we piggyback on that related market because we  provide the information, while they provide the product.”&lt;br /&gt;
