The roar of the Lotus Emira engines is a sound of pure power, but for Leona, sitting on the grid for Race 1, that roar was shadowed by a deafening silence in the budget. In a sport where “fresh rubber” is the currency of champions, Leona was playing with a hand already dealt. Sepang, 29 November 2025 — The atmosphere at Sepang North Paddock Club 2 was electric as the Virtual S1K Powered by Castrol 2025 concluded with intense wheel-to-wheel battles, smart strategy, and an impressive showcase of Malaysia’s rapidly growing esports racing community.

Organised by Sepang International Circuit, sanctioned by the Motorsport Association of Malaysia (MAM), and proudly powered by Castrol Malaysia, this year’s event brought together 10 formidable teams, each consisting of four dedicated sim racers. Together, they faced the ultimate challenge — a 1000km virtual endurance race demanding precision, discipline, and exceptional teamwork.

A Gruelling Test of Endurance

Across 7 hours of non-stop racing, participants pushed the limits of concentration and consistency. The event not only highlighted the depth of local esports talent but also reinforced the rising prominence of virtual endurance racing as a legitimate and competitive motorsport discipline in Malaysia.

Teamwork, pit strategies, tyre management, and racecraft played pivotal roles in determining the final standings, proving once again that esports racing mirrors the excitement and complexity of real-world motorsport.

Malaysian motorsport athlete Leona Chin delivered a standout performance at the 2025 Lotus Cup
China season finale, finishing 3rd overall and 3rd in the SD Class in Race 2 at the Sepang International
Circuit.

Racing under tight budget constraints and forced to reuse worn tires from Race 1, Leona battled a
highly competitive international field featuring drivers from China, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and
Canada. While many competitors started Race 2 on fresh tires, Leona maintained strong pace and
consistency over the 21-lap race, recording a best lap of 2:27.236 to secure a well-earned podium.

“This podium feels extra meaningful because it wasn’t an easy weekend,” Leona shared. “With limited
sponsorship, we had to stretch our resources and continue on used tires while others had new sets. But I
couldn’t have done it without my amazing team — the pitstop was perfect, and I couldn’t ask for more.
Their support kept me fighting all the way to the end.”

Her result underscores her resilience, racecraft, and ability to deliver strong performances even under
challenging circumstances. The Sepang round served as the final stop of the 2025 Lotus Cup China
season, attracting competitive teams and drivers from across the region and beyond.

Sepang, Malaysia – 10 August 2025 – Malaysian motorsport athlete Leona Chin delivered a fighting performance at Round 3 of the Malaysia Touring Car Championship (MTCC), clinching 3rd place in the TP2 category during Race 2 at the Sepang International Circuit. Representing Team Pitworks Kuraz Motorsports, Leona overcame a weekend marred by mechanical issues in qualifying and Race 1 to earn a well-deserved podium finish. The weekend began on the back foot when technical problems hampered Chin’s qualifying run, resulting in a compromised starting position. Race 1 proved equally challenging, with the car still not at full strength. However, thanks to the team’s relentless efforts overnight, the car was ready for Race 2. Chin responded with sharp racecraft, consistent lap times, and a determined push through the field to secure the TP2 podium. “This weekend tested both me and the team in every way. From qualifying to Race 1, we faced mechanical issues that could have ended our chances — but quitting was never an option. I’m proud we fought through and delivered a podium for Team Pitworks Kuraz Motorsports,” said Chin. The MTCC is one of Malaysia’s most competitive national racing series, attracting a strong grid of talented drivers and passionate motorsport fans. Round 3 once again delivered thrilling on-track battles, with Chin and Team Pitworks Kuraz Motorsports proving their resilience under pressure.
