Worked up a Display tray from http://www.tablewar.com/ and this is a pictorial on the things I did.

Mocked up something simple, then hot glued everything on place.

Smothered the surface with various Vallejo texture pastes and began to add bits and debris.

After everything was dry I painted it.

Displayed with (unfinished) models.

He's at about 70% compete. I've 'leveled up' my cloth and metallics
techniques while painting this model and I'm super excited this new stuff on some competition models.

Grey Knights Commission 1.0

This is the beginning of a GK commission. The customer requested a specific color scheme which made 'Grey Knights that are not grey', so before any GK fanboys rage on the post, THE CUSTOMER CHOSE THE COLORS.

Now that's aside I can tell you how refreshing it is to do paint schemes that are custom. Doing commissions can make you fall into 'robot mode' doing army after army in the traditional schemes, but every now and then, you get a customer that has his own vision he want's to bring to life.

I've just blocked out some colors on the model and they are waiting approval from the customer so I can fire out the other 58 models in the army. So these are still VERY wip. But stay tuned!

So happy and still in shock that these took Gold in Warhammer Regiment. I kept it a secret but also was working on them for a short period so not too many people knew about it. But until GW puts out their pictures of it, these should hold you over till then. Had fun meeting all the video watchers and making new friends. See you guys next year!

July 30 - Event day, going to be in the Golden Demon entry line at the crack (I hear it gets long). Then meet up with friends and cruise the con until the Judging has ended.

Finished up these guys last night. Still have to drill out barrels and they are done. It's fun doing custom paint schemes for customers. I get to use colors and try combinations I would have not done for my own projects.

Customer wanted a ice world theme and armor to reflect that theme. Skin was to be like the D&D Drow hence the white hair and grey skin.

This is the first part of a huge commission (6 Raiders 6 Ravagers are on the list amongst a ton of troops and flyers).

Worked on skin for about 2 hours. Think the back is done. I apologize for the 'shiny' finish caused by the glaze medium. The upper parts of his back look weird because I picked up pieces of the paint with a needle that will later be peeling skin from sun burn (eww).

This model was purchased for skin practice, from the Miniature Factory. Been a fan of the sculpts that Jacques-Alexandre Gillois puts out and I had been eyeing the model for a couple months now. So as I get work done on him I'll be posting progress pictures. Here is the first.

I made his base last night inspired by the base making skills of the Massive Voodoo crew. Looking through their work it really makes you think about spending some time making a base that will best represent the model you plan to paint.
