P.S. 22, an elementary-school chorus from Staten Island, sings Joni Mitchell’s “Circle Game.” One of the most pure and heartfelt sounds you will ever experience.

At least I used to want to give it back but not since A&E began “Trainwreck Monday”, a prime time line-up that includes the television shows Intervention and Hoarders.

There is something about watching meth addicts tweak and psychopaths eat 8-year-old bologna that makes me feel better about my own life. Sick, I know, but therapeutic.

Probably my favorite episode of Intervention was Allison’s story. Allison was addicted to huffing computer duster. Allison also had cats, lots of cats. A huffer cat lady makes for disaster. Hoarders had a cat lady too. I can’t recall her name, but more than 100 cats were found in her home. Most of them were dead.

But I regress.

Once dreaded Mondays have turned into an amazing ego boost for me, thanks to A&E. The Jerry Springer show used to have the same effect on me until I found out it was all bullshit.

Here’s to A&E and hoping they keep it real, crack heads, cat ladies, 8-year-old bologna and all.

So I am keeping Mondays for now. Damn, life is good!
