Maybelline Whisper Lipstick in Oh La Lilac

These are super soft and pigmented. It reminds me of Revlon lip butters but I had a bad reaction to those. These claim to be wax free..so that's probably why my lips don't mind this. I do want to try more colors so we will see. These are great if you want a balm like feel with some color to perk up your lips.

Evening out Eyelids without using eyelashes

I'm sure i'm not alone when I say that one of my eyes are hooded while the other one has a crease. Because of this when I wear eyeliner it looks very uneven and as a perfectionist I tend to like things as symmetrical as I can have it. For this reason I wore eyelashes for a few years now just to get my other eye to lift.

I know i'm going to get comments on how I should just let it be, but this is me, and it's just what I like.

You can most likely find eyelid tape on ebay or on other sites like PinkyParadise. I have tried the glue before and it doesn't work so well for my eyes.

My THOUGHTS on this:

So as some of you may know, my husband is currently deployed and I relocated back to my family MILES away from where we are currently stationed.

I went crazy for a bit there with uncontrollable spells and I didn't know my hormones were imbalanced. My period was changing and I was breaking out everywhere so that gave off a hint and I would call my husband crying hysterically.

In all honesty I felt like I was losing my mind. My anxiety was going through the roof and I would really start worrying about nothing. I felt like turning to meds to help fix my depression/anxiety but I wanted to go a natural route until I could get my hormones regulated.

I looked online and researched this for a while, then took a drive to whole foods to purchase it.

Does it work?

I'm not sure if it is placebo or not but it did help me when I felt the anxiety was going to come (which is usually at night). It really is a hit or miss for anyone. But it works for me when I just need to focus on real life and get back to finishing what I was doing in the first place.

This doesn't help depression but it helps ease anxiety if you have any.

Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine LIp Gloss in Electric Shock Review

Maybelline's claim is that this is 100% wax free

The texture is quite thick, there isn't a smell to it really and you can't taste much either. This is definitely pigmented and glossy. It sort of leaves a stain after the gloss wears off.

would I buy this again? it's 50/50. it's a great gloss, but i've been more into stains lately so we will see.

Excuse the breakouts, i've been going through a lot lately but i've been trying to cheer up and keep pressing forward. ;)

So moving onto the review!

Pros: Great color

Cons: staying power is not so great. after eating a sandwich, I could see a nice part of this completely gone on the inner parts of my lips. reapplying can get cakey if you don't remove it all first then reapply (sucks). the tube is very small, when you first apply the lipstick it is very liquidy, then dries to a matte finish. if you aren't careful with how you apply it, it can end up looking uneven and clownlike :(

would I buy this again? nope. comparing this to stila's liquid lipcolor, this definitely takes a beating.

Tiffany and Co. Twist Bow Ring - sweet simplicity

The polish I used is by Finger Paints (usually found at Sally's) in "Tiffany Imposter" (haha)

The ring is an early birthday gift from my husband who is serving the country right now. I miss him like there's no way I could ever explain.

The ring itself is very simple yet so cute. I went inside the store to try it on because I had to see for myself in person to make sure I really love it, and I do. The only issue I have with this ring is that it can snag a few things here and there because of the two ends. Other than that this is a sweet piece added to my collection.

Pumpkin Dip (found on pinterest)

I found this off of pinterest and had to try it.

Ingredients:

1 15oz can of pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)
1 5oz box of vanilla pudding
1 16oz tub of cool whip (whatever you prefer i used light)
1/2 tbsp of pumpkin spice (just fyi this cost me around $5 for a small jar)
*the pumpkin pie spice is a must have for this, it gives it a special kick
1/2 tbsp of cinnamon

**don't make the pudding, mix it straight into the rest of these ingredients and chill for a while

You can try dipping anything into this..that would go with pumpkin. If my calories allowed i'd dip graham crackers or anything sweet and crunchy in here lol.

Turbie Twist Safari Collection Review ♥

I was in Bed Bath and Beyond and I came across this..I couldn't resist and asked Walley if he'd buy me these! (btw Bed Bath and Beyond is my new favorite place for beauty items, they have most of the drugstore cosmetics there)

I was a little skeptical at first so I opened the package in the store and tried this on Walley's head. It fit well so I figured it would hold up well on my head. Now I bought a generic version of this and it sucked..the turbie wasn't long enough and it didn't stay put as well.

The print is what really got to me. I pictured myself walking around with this on my head and I definitely don't look as cute as the animated girls on the packaging do. (lol) BUT I am satisfied with this. $15 is pushing it a little but considering the packaging is cute and I get two of them it was fine with me.

As far as absorbing water from my hair goes, it's okay..it's not that absorbent to where i'm wowed by it, but it does it's job.

What do I love about this? I don't have to take an extra bath towel with me into the shower, it feels light on my head, and it's cute!

Would I recommend this? YES. For the convenience and girliness ;)

They have other prints too, you'd have to check them out for yourselves. This might be the only As Seen On TV product i've liked.

Stella Mini Resin Watch

That is probably the best picture I can take of it on my arm lol. I am left handed so I wear my watches on my right hand..and the camera button is on the right side of the camera making it harder and heavier to snap a shot with my left hand.

Anyways, my new LOVE. I still love my other Fossil watch, but this one is my go to watch now. It isn't too dressy and has a touch of rose gold to compliment my skintone. I have gotten a lot darker but that doesn't matter..I look good in tan/brown lol.

The resin material is super light and it doesn't bother me to wear it. I just love that this is simple and different.

They have a bigger version of this but I got the small one because it looked better on my wrist vs. the bigger one. I did take a look around the Michael Kor's watches, tried on a few but nothing screamed out to me like this one.

The sale price on this is $105, but I was talking to the SA yesterday and she says all the Fossil watches have an 11 year warantee on them. Not bad.

ELF Eyelid Primer - a hidden gem!

So while I was in Kmart I bought this on a whim because it was only a dollar. I had just purchased Milani's's paint palette and was curious to see how this would work with it.

My first thoughts about this were it is very greasy and I didn't have much hope for it. I swatched this on my arm and then I applied a few colors from the Milani paint palette. I wasn't too impressed at first until the formula dried and then the colors came out very vibrant. In all honesty I think this primer is better than urban decay's.

For one dollar you really can't beat the price. I'm definitely going to go back and stock up on some a few more of these.

Would I recommend this? yes I would!!

Yeap, thats the little man hogging the bed. Sometimes I wonder how I manage to not fall off the bed..hrm.. :P

Anyways this is such a great product. I was in the hair care aisle at walmart looking for something to take care of my REALLY dry ends. Nothing seemed to intrigue me until I got to the end of the aisle and saw this orange bottle. Tiny and simple.. I picked it up and it said it had argan oil in it so I wanted to try it..not to mention I use Garnier's hair color often so I love the smell of that too.

I showered that night and applied this to my damp hair. Instantly I saw it smooth ends out. While it was drying (naturally no hair blow dryer), I noticed that my ends weren't frizzing out and my hair did NOT feel greasy which is a plus for me. I wash my hair everyday because I have an oily scalp. The real test was in the morning because usually my hair is really dry then, and this definitely passed the test. My ends still looked and felt hydrated.

You can pick this up for around $5 depending where you get it. I would recommend this for anyone who wants lovely soft hair that's not greasy. I have noticed a great hair improvement with this product.

Xen Tan - Hope for the Pale Faces :)

This retails for $24 at Ulta. As you can see in the pictuer above, it is olive based so you for sure will not have any orange tint to your skin.

Since I am slightly anemic, my face is really pale compared to the rest of my body. My body is tan, really tan haha.. but my face..not so much. I wanted some color for my face since I am uncomfortable with tanning out in the sun, especially with my face since I don't want to do anymore damage to my skin.

The color upon first application is light, but with the second night of using this I noticed more color. This definitely isn't streaky, it is gel like and it applies really smooth. My face looks like it is naturally tan with the rest of my body and I no longer look like a ghost. This does give me much more confident when i'm at home without foundation on.

Would I recommend this? YES!

ok i know my latest post wasnt any fun and this one won't be either. i have discovered a few new beauty items that i absolutely love and will hopefully post as soon as i can.

but for now it's late, i'm home alone with my son, and i'm feeling sad. my husbands job demands a lot of hours at work, and i know he works hard for us, but i can't wait til we get out of the military. i don't think he understands right now what it is like to be on my end at all. wait, i take that back, i don't think he understands at all what it is to be me at all.

men - they're taught to not show any emotions or it resembles weakness. this is true to my husbands part. there have been many times when i've gone through sometime hard and i've done it alone. i know, it only makes me stronger, BUT i really need him to understand me this time.

there have been a number of times when i've wanted to pack up and just go back home, but this time it's happening for real and it's not out my anger or past immature issues.

a few things i'm afraid of, not wanting to come back to the military life after this move. i know i love my husband dearly, but i don't know how much more of this i can take. it hasn't even started but i really hate his job schedule as it is already.

i'm dreading the moment my son tells me he misses his daddy. it will absolutely break my heart every time as it does already when we are home. the shift in life will be hard for him if we move back to the military life. well it will be hard both ways.

i'm feeling a little abandoned, almost like i want to hate him so i can just pretend he's leaving because we weren't meant to be. the biggest thing i see in my head when i look at him now is "i'm leaving".

i really need to get it together..but i'm scattered in pieces everywhere. i'm sure one by one ill pick myself back up.

this is just a quick post but also to get things off my mind. my husband is deploying soon and it's not just for 4 months this time. it'll be closer to 6-7. keenan and i are moving in with my parents so they can help keep keenan company while walley is gone. its stressful thinking about it. i know i'm in denial. but its only because if i think about it too much i'll cry uncontrollably. can't explain the kind of love we have, but when he's gone my heart feels like half of it is missing. *sigh* im blessed to have keenan there to put a smile on my face and force me to keep moving. he's counting on me.

My Favorite Way to Contour/Bronze

i'm pretty sure this is in the shade cappuccino.

bronzers are pretty much dark toned powders, so i went a different way and just bought this to use as my contour/bronzer. it is matte and stays on all day. i love it. now i don't have to waste to much money on "bronzers".

Chevron Art Using Melted Crayons!!

YES, it's melted crayons and I KNOW it's been going around for a while now, but I wanted to do something a little different and fun.

** I didn't take step by step pictures because I was too caught up in working in the project and it was my first time so I wanted to concentrate on making it work.

Items used: dollar store masking tape (this one worked best because it stuck to the canvas when the other ones wouldn't)
- lo temp glue gun
- regular sized crayons (important)
- 18x24 economy canvas from AC MOORE's
-1 colored pencil
-magazine papers (for protection)

This took longer than expected because I had to cut the tape and shape them out. I suppose it would have been easier if I had drawn the chevron stripes first then taped them but I didn't..so it was free handed.

**The crayons don't fit in the glue gun, so I unscrewed the glue gun and took it apart, took the trigger off, and screwed it back on. This allowed for me to use the crayons without the thing that holds the glue sticks in the way. This made it so much easier.

The color pencil was used to push the colors through the glue gun. After this was finished I simply peeled off the tape and got to reveal the ending. The melted crayons definitely give this an awesome 3D effect!

It was some work but I now have an original piece of art work that was done by me ;)

Conair Soft Curlers (hair rollers) Review

I believe there are 24 of these in one pack at $10. I found these at Kmart since Walmart only has a limited selection.

These have a sponge in the middle and wires inside the cloth. Definitely sleepable but it would take some getting used to.

I am starting to get into heatless styles that way I won't do more damage to my hair than i've done already. (since i plan on coloring it again lol) If I use a good amount of these in my hair I get almost a fro like style. lol but it was cool to see how it would look like. I sleep with these in and I don't mind it. It makes me getting ready in the mornings so much faster, just unroll, fix my bangs..hairspray and i'm off to start a good hair day! haha

These are the curls I got from using these. I wore the rollers for maybe 8hrs at night. I was not prepared for the results, but I've started to roll them looser to get a more big wave look.

Sigma F84 Kabuki Brush Review ♥

The Sigma logo is fading but the brush has not shed on me once at all.

PROS: affordable (i think so compared to MAC)
VERY good quality, doesn't feel cheap at all
Dense, making your foundation a more full coverage and it doesn't soak up the product
soft - i love how it feels, i love synthetic in general
the angle on the brush makes it perfect for getting into the sides of your nose and under the eyes

CONS: i don't have more! i want to order more in the future

Would I repurchase? YES!

Eucerin's Daily Protection Moisturizing Face Lotion with SPF 30

What's so great about this? It has not caused any breakouts for me and it's not greasy, not to mention the SPF 30. I use this year round because I have combo/oily/acne prone skin. It sinks in really fast and it doesn't interfere with my makeup. It does leave a white case but this I like for when I'm staying home and just want something to tone down the redness in my skin.

Who won't like this? Someone looking for a sunscreen that doesn't leave a white cast and want's something moisturizing.

I can't stress enough about how important it is to wear sunscreen on your face everyday even in the winter. I've noticed a few sun spots on the side of my face where the sun usually hits. This i'm sure is from me not wearing sunscreen in the past, PLUS I lived in Florida for 4 years. Just glad I didn't do too much damage. Sunscreen will protect you from early aging. So stay young while you can be happy. No one likes an old bitter person.

Lately i've been telling myself to not feel discouraged and to keep moving on even if I have to ignore certain people in my life. It's sad that I even have to, but I don't want the negative energy around me.

I've never really been a hater in my life, not much from what I remember and if I was, it would most likely be because they didn't like me first.

I'm so over high school drama, and I think most haters that exist are still in that phase. They can't stand the fact that people are happy, so they knock them down or try their best to.

When they spend more time loving themselves first, they'll start to shed a little more light and stop the hating. I can't stand it when worstly a friend feels jealousy towards me or some kind of hate/resentment.

What really bugs me is when people think i'm spoiled. I am definitely not spoiled. I do have my own car, I don't have to work, and I have a few materials that may make it seem like I am spoiled, but I shouldn't even have to explain myself.

Behind the scenes I am: scrubbing down the toilets, tubs, grease and grime. I am washing dishes, cleaning the windows, vacuuming dirt and crumbs off the floor, cutting up raw chicken/meat, chopping vegetables, cooking for goodness!, cleaning the dishes, loading the laundry, drying the laundry, folding the laundry, putting the laundry back, picking up toys, feeding my son seperately because he doesn't like to eat what we eat, keeping my son entertained, exercising so i won't lose myself, dusting, wiping, changing diapers, figuring out what i'm going to cook next..the list goes on.

I don't sit there and have things get handed to me. I do work at home even if it's not at a retail place. If I didn't lift a finger here at home our place would look like a scene from Hoarders.

I know I shouldn't let people get to me but me being the nice person I am, it does get to me. I just can't understand why people can have so much hate in their heart sometimes. I just have to remind myself that they need more love.

Ok, obviously my hair is not the color on the box, but it's crazy right now lol. I don't think i've ever had it this color so i'm still getting used to it and i'm sure it's going to lighten up soon.

You will have to leave this on longer. I think it's the new formula but my hair feels soft and smooth. There are other shades and i'm excited about them because I don't have to go as far as bleaching my hair just to get color.

Tapped (the movie) review/impact ‼

I heard about this film a while ago from a friend of mine, or at least I remember her mentioning it.

The documentary is about how major companies like Nestle, Pepsi, etc.. go to small towns with clean drinking water, pump their water, filter it, then bottle it for us to drink! It also talks about the effects of plastic bottles, BPA, and other dangers that these bottles cause.

The apartments that we are living in now just starting charging us for water. It was free but i'm assuming with loss of tenants, they are upping the rent and making us pay for the water/sewage. Our first bill came back $108 for one month. I was really shocked as I try not to waste water. I do laundry when I feel the load is big, and I try to cut back on using the dish washer.

A few days ago I decided to try turning off the water inbetween washes in the shower and it was sort of changing. The silence that was present while I was shampooing/ conditioning/ shaving made me realize how much water is wasted during those times.

I just wanted to share this because it has made me think differently about bottled water and just conserving in general.
