I have to admit, I was NOT a huge cottage cheese lover! My twin sister adores it. I'm gonna let you in on a gross secret. As a little girl I LoVed cottage cheese mixed with grape jelly! How disgusting is that?

So when my friends at Daisy Brand asked me if I would like to do a Product Review and Giveaway I took a look at the website and decided to give it a whirl and here's why...

Daisy Cottage Cheese is a distinctively special cottage cheese. From how it’s made to the first fresh taste, the product’s unique attributes make it attractive to many. Each tub is specially sealed to be as fresh the day it is opened as the day it was made, so each taste will be creamy and deliciously fresh.

Unlike most cottage cheeses, Daisy Brand Cottage Cheese is made with 100% natural ingredients, and no additives, preservatives, or artificial growth hormones. I didn't realize that other brands use non-dairy thickeners such as starches and gums in their product. That's so wrong!

I was Blessed to receive some Daisy Cottage Cheese for review and to be honest, it was quite good! Daisy Cottage Cheese is Gluten free and Kosher for those with dietary restrictions. It's also available in a low fat version (2% milkfat) for those following a low fat diet. With just 90 calories per ½–cup serving you can enjoy a 100% natural low fat cottage cheese without giving up the creamy, delicious taste of Daisy Cottage Cheese! (Just an FYI regular Daisy Brand Cottage Cheese has just 20 calories more per serving, with 4% milkfat.)

I found I really like to eat my cottage cheese with fresh fruit! A scoop of Daisy Cottage Cheese and some peaches makes a tasty and filling light lunch that keeps me satisfied for hours! I also love to mix diced red, green and yellow peppers and a ton of spices into my Daisy Cottage Cheese then top this on a Garden Ripe Tomato! Pretty tasty. ( I admit it! I was wrong about cottage cheese!)

Light Broccoli & Cheese Pasta
Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Time To Table: 20 Minutes
Serves: 2

Ingredients

1 heaping cup penne pasta
1/2 cup broccoli flowerettes
1 cup Daisy Brand Cottage Cheese
1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
4 tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese + 1 teaspoon

Cook pasta and broccoli according to package directions. Toss cottage cheese with the hot pasta, hot broccoli, black pepper and 4 tablespoons Parmesan cheese. Divide into two oven-safe bowls and sprinkle each with 1/2 teaspoon of Parmesan cheese. Lightly broil for approximately two minutes or until slightly browned and serve. *Optional - try adding other vegetables for a heartier meal.

The simple fact is that it takes 1/3 lb. of fertilizer and pesticides to produce a single cotton t-shirt. There is no question that organic farming is a better way to go. Organic cotton, eco-friendly fabrics and bamboo cloth are beginning to make their way into mainstream fashion.

Wow! I had no idea! I feel great knowing this is an organic cotton tee! It's not only feels good on, it's good for the earth! These tees run big and are pre-shrunk. They wash beautifully, dry like a dream and do NOT shrink! So order your correct size. I ordered a large thinking they would shrink and they didn't. A medium would have been plenty big for me!

Summer fun in the sun! We're all taking to the highway in search of a fabu vacay! Right!? Let's be safe!

According to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA,) 660 fatalities and 33,000 injuries occur every year due to tire-related problems.
Keeping your family vehicle’s tires inflated to the recommended pounds per square inch (psi) will not only save on gas, but will provide a safer ride.
It’s important to keep in mind that during the warm weather of summer, hot road surfaces can cause the pressure to increase in a tire. As a general rule, for every 10-degree rise in temperature, a tire’s pressure increases one psi.

According to Goodwrench...

Under-inflated tires can cause

Premature or irregular wear
Poor handling
Reduced fuel economy - that means big bucks!!!!

Over-inflated tires can cause

Unusual wear
Poor handling
Reduced fuel economy

Checking Air Pressure
Check your vehicle's tires at least once a month, when the tires are cold (let the vehicle sit for at least 3 hours). Look in your owner's manual for the recommended tire inflation for your vehicle. Use a quality gauge. Don't "eyeball" tires – radial tires can look fine even when they're under-inflated.

Be sure to look for objects that have become wedged in the tread – they can work themselves further into the tire and cause air loss.

And don't forget to check that spare!

I was Blessed to receive The Final Edition for review. I started this 678 page book late one evening and feel asleep 20 minutes later. I was a bit disappointed, having only gotten four pages into the book and thought, incorrectly I might add that this would be a difficult and boring book to 'get through.' Nothing could have been further from the truth.

This book is a rich chronicle of American and World History beginning around the time of the Civil war and ending at the end of the 20th Century. Author, Lawrence Meyer had me at his first person account of the assassination of President Lincoln through the eyes of newcomer reporter Brewster Adams Hopkins. I loved how this novel interspersed history with a personal story about the Washington Sentinel Newspaper, the family who owned it and all the sordid details surrounding it's existence.

There's no lack of lusty story lines, political drama, and emotional heart string tugging! A wonderful albeit heavy summer read. This is one you do NOT want to miss! It may take a while to read, but it's well worth your time!!

I was Blessed to receive an Easy Open Jar Opener for review. I have strong hands but they're small I have a devil of a time opening jars and bottles at times! I have a drawer full of devices to open jars that don't work and take up valuable space. So when my friend Kaz emailed and called me! Yup, he called me! It is so much easier to grip and rotate the jar than to twist the lid. It just makes more sense.
Sufferers of arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome say opening lids becomes easy even for them.
No other jar and lid opener can go from such a small size jar to such a large size jar.
Opens child proof bottles with ease.
No electric needed.
Easy install and easy use

Here's how it works...It also comes with optional screws for extra strength.

I Like that this mounts underneath the cabinet where it's out of sight! It's installed in a recessed area but is very accessible! I also like that it comes with screws so you have the option of screwing it in if you would like. It takes up NO valuable drawer space either! GREAT for small apartments, dorms and RV's!

The Easy Open Jar Opener opens bottles and jars from tiny (fingernail polish size) to 6" mouth jars. Does it work? YES! We used the screws for extra strength, but that's just what we did.

I would caution you to be careful if you're opening a jar that's very full of liquid. From experience, it's easy to tip the jar and have it spill a bit, that's my only complaint. Opening bottles and jars didn't really require a lot of strength or energy so this is a really useful item for someone who may have limited mobility in their hands!

It was purely an act of happenstance. Driving along his normal rural route, Michael passed a woman pressing water-soaked leaves into a crude waffle iron. Moments later a plate emerged and on it the woman served the food she was selling. One simple, unexpected encounter, and Michael was set on a life-changing mission.

Though he can’t remember exactly what he ate, that plate—made only of leaves and steam—never left his mind. Michael quickly became obsessed, spending the rest of his summer and business school years improving the design and composition of these plates.

VerTerra produces dinnerware that’s biodegradable, durable and stands out for its unique look and feel. These environmentally-friendly plates, bowls and serving dishes are made only from two products ~ fallen leaves and water! HOW NEAT IS THAT!!!

They're non-toxic, biodegradable, compostable, durable, lightweight, convenient and beautiful! When I heard about VerTerra dinnerware I was super interested! I'm not a huge fan of disposable plates but these had me intrigued. Being the tree hugger that I am, disposable dinnerware made from fallen leaves really piqued my interest!

I was Blessed to receive some VerTerra Dinnerware for review! First let me say that NO trees are cut down to make these beautiful plates and I love that! They're made from fallen leaves, steam, heat and pressure only!

Wondering what will happen to these plates after you use them? They are completely biodegradeable within 2 months after use. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

But, what good is "disposable dinnerware" if it's wimpy and food goes right through it! Know what I mean! VerTerra Dinnerware is sturdy! Don't be afraid to ladle hot soups 'n stews into the bowls. It won't soak through! No kidding! VerTerra is strong and sturdy!

Oh and get this, you can reheat food in your VerTerra Dinnerware in the regular oven! Just remember to keep the cook time to 45 minutes or less, keep the oven temp at no higher than 350 degrees and make sure your VerTerra is at least 6 inches from the heat source! Pretty impressive huh!? You certainly can't do that with 'paper plates' now can ya! :)

Of course you can reheat in the good old microwave also! Keep it to 2 minutes or less on high!

Honey Glazes These all natural, gluten free glazes and sauces are going to add so much ooomph and pizazz to your summer cooking! There are just so many ways to use 'em! Add them to recipes to add zip and zing! Use as a glaze while grilling or as dipping sauce!

I received the Honey Ridge Grilling Sauce (Medium) It's a little sweet, a little spicy (and ya know I like my food highly seasoned!) so this is right up my alley! Use as you would a "conventional BBQ sauce" however this is anything but conventional! :) I was going to use this in a recipe, but I didn't! It tastes so good on my food, I've been using it as a dip for fresh grilled veggies, steamed veggies, on veggie burgers and Hubby the Hubster has been using it on his grilled chicken! It's a real winner!

Next time, I'm going to add my Fire Roasted Chili Honey Vinegar instead!

Honey Crème Blackberry Did you know honey is the oldest known sweetener for humankind? Interesting isn't it? Well Honey Creme Blackberry is blended with the finest blackberries and never cooked so the flavor of the honey and fruit is retained! No need to refrigerate (I was surprised.)

This delightful jar of goodness can be used to sweeten tea, top oatmeal (I live in the south and this is soooo good on grits,) top desserts, waffles and pancakes, add to sauces or paired with cheese. I have to be honest with ya, my favorite way to eat this is on a plain ole English Muffin! Simple, Warm, Comfort Food! So good!

Blackberry Gorgonzola Crostini
6 fresh figs, cut lenghwise into 4 slices
Honey Ridge Farms Blackberry Honey Crème
1 loaf French baguette, sliced 1/-inch thick and toasted
4 ounces Gogonzola or other crumbly blue cheese

Spread honey creme on toasted bread slices, top with cheese and a fig slice.

I really like Mark Reinfeld and Jennifer Murray! They co-authored The Complete Idiot's Guide to Eating Raw: A fresh approach to eating well, which I just did a Review and Giveaway for! That was another FABU book! Reinfeld and Murray advocate eating eating food in its whole natural state, using ingredients that are organic and locally grown whenever possible.

I love the way this Cookbook is structured. There are five parts and each part is the cuisine of a region.

Too often I get 'comfortable' cooking the foods I'm familiar with. In 1985, his daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Joel Coffee, began bottling some of his recipes, and selling them to the public under the "Dr. Pete's" label. Now you can enjoy some of the marinades and sauces that Savannahians have enjoyed for years.

Lemon Pear Dressing

I'm a huge citrus fan and I adore pears so when I heard about this dressing I couldn't wait to try it! It's a bit sweet, a tad tart and everything you could want in a salad dressing! Oh how refreshing on your summer salads!

Dr. Pete's even suggests using it as a finishing sauce for chicken and fish, but to be honest, I haven't tried that for Hubby yet because I am enjoying it so much on my fresh salads! Yes, I'm being selfish, but I eat salads daily and this is such a treat! Heck, I'm even enjoying a tiny splash over fruit salad! Holy moly it's so good! It's not heavy or greasy or over the top! No! It just adds a delicious somethin' somethin' that elevates a great salad to a gourmet salad!

A beautifully presented jar containing 11 Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup with 8 page cocktail guide on the lid. You'll love their Wild Hibiscus Flowers with their vibrant crimson color and delicious raspberry & rhubarb flavor, perfect for your next dinner party or special occasion (or just as an excuse to crack open the bubbly, with or without alcohol!)

Serve as a classic champagne cocktail, simply place a whole wild hibiscus flower in the bottom of a champagne flute, pour in a dash of the crimson syrup & top up with your favorite bubbly. All the bubbles stream off the flower and slowly open it up. At the end of the drink you can eat the flower with its natural flavor being similar to raspberry & rhubarb, it is the perfect accompaniment to champagne and special occasions.

Each jar contains approximately 11 whole premium flowers in sugar syrup. There are only 3 ingredients; Wild Hibiscus Flowers, cane sugar & water. This product is handmade in Sydney, Australia. Each flower is hand packed into the jar to preserve their quality and shape. There is a slightly different shaped flower for each part of the jar to minimize damage to the flowers.
All color and flavor come just from the flower, they are cooked in the jar and vacuum sealed which gives them a long shelf life of 2 years from the date of manufacture.

Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup are gorgeous! The syrup and flowers can be used to top an ice cream sundae! Try topping a beautiful salad with a perfect Hibiscus Flower then use the syrup to make a vinaigrette! The color is so pretty.

You can use Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup for appetizers too! This sounds yummy... Take a Wild Hibiscus Flower and open it up. Stuff it with a pinch of goat cheese, top with some chive pieces, and cracked black pepper and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar! Mmmmm!

Hubby and I experimented with our jar of Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup! I added one to Club Soda! I loved the beautiful pinkish red color the syrup imparts and I liked nibbling on the flower at the end of my drink! Hubby the Hubster likes adding the Hibiscus Flowers to Ginger-ale! It makes a beautiful refreshing drink on a hot summer day!

I think my favorite way to enjoy Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup is on a salad!!! Just one flower adds so much flavor, flair and beauty to a salad that you're salads go from ordinary to ooh la la! I love that you can whisk a touch of the syrup into your dressing too! It adds so much flavor and color!

WILD HIBISCUS ROYALE
This drink was first served at the legendary Dorchestor Hotel, London in 2006; a Swanky hang out for the rich & famous where it remains the most popular Champagne cocktail on the menu.

Wild Hibiscus Flower Garnish
¼ oz natural rose water
2/3 oz Wild Hibiscus Syrup
Mint
Champagne

Muddle mint in the champagne flute & discard (squash some leaves around inside the glass)
Place Wild Hibiscus Flower in bottom of glass & stand upright
Add rose water & some bruised torn mint pieces
Top with Champagne
Lastly, pour in the Hibiscus syrup which will graduate from crimson at the bottom to light pink at the top

Tip: pour syrup in first for a layered effect

The flower will sit in the bottom of the champagne flute and slowly open up over 3-4 minutes.
