Every year about this time I really get into crocheting. Last year I became obsessed with making slipper socks. They were the first thing that I really completed and I was so proud of myself.

This year, with having a 3 year old and a 3 month old the only time I get to work on things are when both kids are napping. I ran across this pattern the other day and thought I'd give it a try. It went SO quick. I literally got it finished in about 30-45 minutes just in time for Haylee, the 3 year old, to wake up and try it on.

Here is my finished product!

If you are a beginner and would like to try a super easy and fast pattern I really suggest trying this out.

I have decided to take my blogging a new direction. Since I have a newborn on the way I am never going to find time to type my reviews. My idea is to do little tiny typed reviews and v-blog the rest. Now, I just need to figure out how to use my webcam to record my reviews. I have a ton of things to review and I have been collecting since December I just need to motivation to kick me in the butt!

I may start to motivation process by making myself a new layout, I'm not sure yet. But please keep checking back because I promise I'll be back!

Rock and a hard place....

Ever feel like you're stuck between a rock and a hard place?! That is exactly where I feel I am right now. I have a big decision to make and no matter which I make it's going to piss someone off. I just want to do the right thing. I guess by the right thing I mean what will be right for ME in the future. I need to be selfish right now and just stand up for what I want. That is so hard to do when you have spent so many years of your life as a people pleaser. I can't please everyone this time and it's upsetting.

I guess what I'm going to do right now is just throw my hands in the air, step back, and figure out what I need to do.

We have offically become the mommy and daddy to our fur-princess Bella!! She is a 7mo old Yorkie/Beagle mix and is a delight to have around. She is crate trained already so she sleeps in her box at night, and for the most part is potty trained. We have only had one accident!

She is very playful and her and Haylee get along awesome. We couldn't have asked for a better puppy.

After a LONG hiatus I think I am back!

I really just needed to take a step back from everything and focus on my life a bit.

I am now 23 weeks pregnant. We have had our ultrasound to see what the gender of the baby is but baby was shy and wouldn't show up. Although I'd LOVE to say that it's a girl, Jon and I both have a feeling it's a boy. We however are STILL refusing to pick boy names! LOL

Haylee, my 2 year old, is doing wonderful. She amazes me daily with the things she learns or the things that she says. Her most recent funny was taking a sip of my water, looking at me and going "mom, that's tasty!" lol Where does she come up with these things. We are working on letter recgonition right now and she's doing great! I think we are going to enroll her into preschool this fall after the baby is born.

She's also COMPLETELY potty trained. She has been day time pt'd for almost a year now and within the last month or so we have really hit night time. She still has the ocassional accidents but for the most part always wakes up dry. Every once in awhile she'll even wake at night and go potty by herself.

Sorry I haven't been around much. Been pretty busy and have had a lot on my mind. Here is a pregnancy update.

I'm no closer know anything today then I was yesterday.

When I went to the ER last month for the bleeding, the u/s didn't revile anything. The dr. saw the "yolk sack" but no baby and he said it was just too early.

Fast forward to my appt today. It was my first OB appt and it was pap day. I was talking to the dr. to see if we could hear the HB and he said that the baby normally at this stage is still too low in the pelvis to hear anything. I said well we just want to make sure there is something in there. He ask what I meant and I explained. Plus said I am still having the bleeding. He looked over my papers from the ER and said lets get you another u/s. Well I had one scheduled for next Tuesday and he said let me go give my scheduling nurse a little wink and see if she can squeeze you in on Thursday. Soo...we go and FINALLY get answers on Thursday at 2.

He also told me he didn't want to scare me but..I interrupted and said please don't hold it back. We have prepared ourselves for this since it was called a "Threatened miscarriage" we knew we could lose the baby at any time. He said ok. Well you could have either lost it or could have had what we call a *he did the hand quotations* "False pregnancy".

Soo..two more days.

Well it's 2009! How weird is that. HAHA It seems like we just celebrated 2008 coming. Where has the year gone.

On a message board I am on someone had asked what we are looking forward to in 2009. I guess what I am is an easy pregnancy and a very healthy baby. Us to be able to live a little more comfortably than we have this past year. Finances have gotten VERY tight a few times and I'd like to stray away from that this year. And I think for us to be able to spend lots of quality time with Haylee before her brother or sister comes along.

I normally don't make resolutions because I never stick to them anyways but this year I am going to. I think I will continue on something I have been working on for a few months, to be more patient with Haylee. To try to not raise my voice to her as often and instead of getting frustrated with her try to understand and calmly correct the problem. I have made major improvements these past few months so my resolution is to keep working on it and keep up the good work.

Wow, this is going so fast. I can't believe that I'm 2 months pregnant already!!!

Sorry I have been lacking in the blogging business lately. I am still having morning...er I mean ALL day sickness and I have just been exhausted.

I have been taking pictures every week to track my belly and just realized I haven't shared them on here yet so here they are!

5 wks

6 wks 1 day (don't mind me..I felt like poo that day!)

7wks 4 days

And today 8 wks 2 days

Today is the first day I have seen a difference. I think it's because I am wearing the same shirt as I was in my 5 wk picture.

I had to remind myself that NO I'm not just gaining weight, it's becoming a baby belly. To me, I just look like I'm getting fatter. haha I was telling Jon that I don't think I've gained weight because I barely eat due to lack of appetite and when I do eat, I get full REALLY fast and feel sick after. After weighing myself, I am actually down 2 lbs!:) I have also noticed that the top of my belly seems to be filling out more than anything else. I carried high with Haylee as well.

This happened with Haylee too. I lost about 15 lbs and then only gained 5 back toward the end. By the time I had her, I was ALL baby!

How old is too old to sit on Santa's lap? I think I can get away with it for one more year. Haylee is still a little too scared to sit there by herself so mommy has to go too. If you wanna know a secret I sorta enjoy it, it makes me feel like a kid again. haha

I got the chance to sit on Santa's lap today. No, not in the tradition way.

Hot water...

We woke to a mess this morning. Through the night our hot water froze! NIIICE!! I remembered to leave the cold water dripping but forgot to leave the hot.

After about 6 hours and finally putting a heater UNDER the house it is now running.

My awesome grandpa crawled under there and wrapped the pipes really nice with foam so hopefully it doesn't happen anymore.

With Christmas, what 3 days away now, I realized I have NO idea what to get Jon. What do you get for a guy that has everything. He’s the type that what he doesn't have and wants he goes and gets. So I am out of luck when it comes to presents for him.

I found a great site that has personalized holiday gifts that I think he would love. He is a big technology geek and their gifts would be right up his ally. I cannot count the number of thumb drives we have bought. He wants more more more, lol. For 16GB and custom engraving you can't beat a price starting at 7.99.

I cannot believe that Christmas has snuck right up on me. I haven’t wrapped any presents yet, haven’t finished some homemade presents I’m making for family members, and still need to buy a few more things. I usually don’t wait this long but finances haven’t been the best for us this year and we had to wait to get gifts when we had the money.

At my family’s Christmas we do a $10 gift exchange. Each person brings a gift, we choose numbers out of a hat and pick our present in accordance to which number we got. If I am number 2 at picking my gift, anyone that picks after me can either steal my gift forcing me to choose another , or they can choose from the present pile. It is super fun!

Favoritism

Since we have a new baby on the way, DH and I have been thinking a lot about playing Favoritism and how Haylee will take the new baby.

How can I possibly love anything or anyone as much as I love Haylee? How will we make time for JUST her after the baby? Will she be jealous? How can we make her not jealous? How can we help the transition?

My question to all of you that have 2 or more kids...how did you make the transition easy in your family? Did you do anything special for kiddo #1 when kiddo #2 was born? How do you make sure you spend quality time with each one?

It's been a scary few days

I spent a good part of the night on Friday in the ER. I had a second bleeding episode and it scared me. They ran a bunch of blood tests, did a pelvic and an ultrasound and couldn't really give me many results.

The dr. said for as early in my pregnancy I am, everything looks great, BUT they couldn't tell much about the baby because they didn't see a heartbeat and it may be too soon to see one. They called it a "threatened miscarriage".

My hormone level was in the 5800's and he said that was good for 6 weeks. I had to go to my OB today for more blood work to check it and he said it should be well over 10,000. I went in this morning and am waiting on the results.

It has been one scary weekend.

This pregnancy already has been so different than my first one with Haylee. The craving have started, the cramping has started, and worst of all the morning/all day sickness has started.

I am excited to continue through the pregnancy and see what else is different. I was terrible at keeping track of things with Haylee so I guess my blog is going to be a way for me to do that. I can't wait to share all the joys and um..puking with everyone! haha ;)

I'll try to get a picture tonight as a starting point to watch the growth progress as well.

Haylee's new favorite past time is playing "Doggy". No, she doesn't pretend to be a dog, she love using mommies computer and playing her new computer game.

Giggles Computer Funtime for Baby is such an amazing product. Haylee has always tired to be a "big girl" and use mommies laptop. Now that we have this game is allowed to. As you can see from the cover, the character is a doggy, hence the name Haylee has given to her computer playing time.

Giggles has 4 different titles that engage your 6-36 mo. old with fun games. What I liked about it was it locked everything else so all she was able to access was the game screen. No matter which button on the keyboard or mouse she pushed all of my other files and programs were safe.

The one we were able to try out is the Nursery Rhyme. The game has 2 modes. A baby mode where you can push any button at any time and an action will occur. And the toddler mode. We kept Haylee's in the toddler mode. She soon learned that if she didn't push the buttons fast enough she would have to start over.

Sounds confusing but let me explain. One of the nursery rhymes was Jack And Jill. In baby mode (6-24 mo), no matter how long it took you to push the buttons back to back Jack and Jill kept going right up the hill to get their water. In toddler mode (24-36 mo), if you waited too long between button presses they both fell right back down that hill and you had to start over. She LOVED it! When she is playing all I hear are laughs. The game has 14 activities and over 50 songs, just on ONE disk!!

Their other great titles are "My Animal Friends", "Shapes", and "ABC's & 123's". I cannot wait to get these for Haylee and try them out.

I just realized how long it has been since I have actually posted. FOREVER!!! I am very sorry my extended leave, I just needed a break from everything.

A lot has changed since I have last posted. I have really backed off of Avon. It just got to be too much, I didn't have the time for it and it was getting too stressful. My mom is having a few health problems that I'm very scared about, even though I put on a brave face for her. Haylee has become such a smart little girl. I will upload a few videos that I took of her yesterday. She is talking so much, getting into EVERYTHING, and has my attitude...yes, we're all in trouble! haha

I am going to try to catch up on my blogging today so be on the look out for some new reviews and contests.
