Note in the series below how the scammer uses different names and emails. First email is kerrjame101@gmail.com. Second email is golemetz@gmail.com. But the name in the second email is Kerri Bash.

Sending you this SCAM (below is initial and second email from the scammer) from Craig’s Listing we did for a motorcycle. Thanks to your postings, I could see it was a scam. We did not send him anything except a cell phone contact (I wish we had not) and I guess he has our email too. So—how are we vulnerable now? And how do you recommend respond?

I have no problem sending the money where you need me to but I cannot cash the check you sent...my bank said because of the damage due to the check from whatever was spilled on it while it was being shipped that they cannot accept it.. that's why I said to cancel that check because I do not want you to think I'm just making up some story and going to try to cash it.
The only thing I can think to do is if you can cancel the first check you sent me..(which is not cashed and cannot be cashed) that way you know that I am not going to cash it..I can even send the check back to you if you would like or I can shred it..whatever you prefer. But if you can issue another check I will take it straight to my bank and cash it then send your money to the lady as soon as I cash the check.
I am sorry about this, if I was you I would definetely say something to fed ex because the whole envelope was soggy and stained w a light brown tint when I received it and its definetely their fault and they should have not even delivered the envelope in this condition.

I want you to know I feel horrible about this and I know it sounds ridiculas but that is the honest to god truth. If you can cancel that check and mail another one I will cash it and western union your money for your furniture as soon as I cash the check so it makes it there right away... also I want to apologize for being rude before I just didn't know what to think... all my mail goes to my good friends house and as soon as she got the check she called me so I know if you do send another one as soon as it gets there she will notify me and ill send you the money right away.
If your wife needs my actual address for when she gets to rochester that is not a problem I just do not have any mail coming to my house because the neighbors that moved out last week had 2 young kids that kept taking our mail. Once again I am very sorry im not sure what happened to the check honestly it looks like someone dumped coffee on it, but that is enough reason for the bank to tell me they can't cash it appearently.
I hope this does not cause a inconvience for you, if another check is issued like I said as soon as it comes in I will get your money where it needs to be so it does not delay anything for you.

Hello..I did receive the check but there is one problem. I got the western union with the check in it.. something must have been spilled on the envelope when it was being delivered and it seeped through to the check... I tried to cash it at 3 places and no one will cash it because of this...I no this sounds crazy and probably like I'm lying and trying to take your money but I'm a very honest person and would never do such a thing.. please cancel that check just so you know I am being honest and not trying to cash it.

This is an interesting scam attempt because the scammer use a craigslist reply address, not his own. Scammers often use two first names as their first and last name for aliases, like "Andrew Alex".

Hello. Over half of the car ads on Craigslists are from scammers. I would flagged these ads but there are too many. But, I found this great site that email spam to the scammers.

Another option to frustrate scammers, I would report these scammers to photo sites where they post their albums and have the fake car photos removed so that the scammes CL posting would be blank. Net, the only way to slow down car scammer is use technology against them.

Another trick is to sign scammers up for Viagra, etc using their email account.

I was selling an item on Craigslist for $400. A person by the name of "William Sandra" contacted me. This person completed the sale through email and sent me a check with "Mover Funds Added" and told me to "Send excess mover funds via MoneyGram at Wal Mart" to a random address. Turns out, the check came in for $2,350 and I took it to the bank and the police and it is a scam! NEVER ACCEPT ANY KIND OF PAYMENT ON CRAIGSLIST EXCEPT CASH/ MONEY ORDER. Also, if a buyer will not contact you personally (Via phone/ personal email), be cautious. A human who is legitimate will not care to talk to you. A scammer will avoid you. Hope this helped someone!

I got a check for over $2000 they asked me to cash the check and send the rest of the money to either the painter, financial advisor, mover, or whatever. They ended up draining my bank account, and now I owe the bank, I am embarrassed that I fell for this. They also ask for full name, address, phone number, age, dob, married/single, etc.. We posted an Airstream for sale/trade and Received 2 Email's by 5:07 + 5:08 a.m by CA time (fishy already) from 2 different addresses and we had the feeling its a scam. when we opened the first Email we saw a brief message with a Hotmail address trying to get us curios to Email back and the rest of our add. Funny & sad people full for that.
