Welcome Back Self! + Life Update

2017-04-20T23:12:00.001-07:00

Here I am, almost a year since my last post, welcoming myself again in the blogging world. A lot of up's and down's has happened for the past months. New discoveries and renewed ties that I didn't get to share with you guys. I found myself always wanting to create but forever delaying because of so many "e kasi..." and "baka sabihin nila" It got to a point where I felt things got too toxic for me that I needed to take a break from this blog, from social media and from socializing because I wouldn't want to put my miserable self out there. I would often write on my planner "I miss my blog :(" or "NEW PASSION PROJECT ALERT: Youtube Channel" but I never tried doing any of them.

I was stuck.

There were so many things that I wanted to do but all I did was write them down on my "Ideas to Dominate the World" notebook. Little by little I found the will again to create from the small blessings that I have been receiving. My previous freelance ventures surrounded with me with creative and passionate people and most of all super appreciative, that sometimes I feel as if I don't deserve what I was receiving. My passion was once again there and I knew I'm ready to take those baby steps towards achieving my goals.

When I re-launched Sunbaked Swimwear (my online shop) at a bazaar in Tiendesitas, I was so happy because I didn't even realize that I could actually meet and socialize with other swimsuit lovers and really talk with them, not just do pure business. It was a heart-warming experience which boosted my confidence and pushed me to do what I really want.

2017 is all about DOING.

Yeah. This blog post is all over the place and I'm just here rambling endlessly but I want to look back on this post and say "Yes gurl! You did it!" No more what if's and e kasi's. I know I could create, so why not push for these goals? I may not be heading towards the easy and short route but I'll proudly venture towards the long and challenging one with a smile on my face, no regrets.

P.S.
You'll probably be seeing a few blog makeovers for the next couple of days or months because why not right? And a new life project that I hope I continue!

Under the Sun

2016-05-16T19:00:00.001-07:00

Waking up to this "I think it might rain today" weather makes me feel sad! The scorching sun and the unbearable heat aside, I have always been a Summer baby (literally) and this gloomy weather's saying Summer will be over soon! From all the paper writing and the busy schedule my friends and I are experiencing, it's like this year's sunny season just flew by. Hello acad shift! Good thing I was dragged to join this Cagbalete trip. If you know me well, I have a huge thing for spontaneous trips and that's what I've been missing lately! This trip was really one for the books not only because of meeting new people but also the new experience and the muni muni moments it gave me!

Cagbalete is really a place where you can go to if you want that quiet time away from the city. Aside from the beach there's a town nearby you can explore. I will be sharing more how to's on the next post!

Hay. These photos just make me miss the beach even more! My next beach trip won't come any time soon but I'm so excited for it!!! See you soon Cebu but for now, will somebody please adopt me in your next summer getaway? :)

Gela Travels: White Rock Subic

2016-04-30T22:25:00.000-07:00

For our parents' 22nd wedding anniversary, we drove to north of Manila to visit White Rock at Subic. It's a convenient place to run to because it's just 3-4 hours away especially now that SCTEX is already present although sometimes, it can really get pretty crowdy at Subic because of all the deals and shopping you can do there (a must visit too!) We were really lucky because it was January then and the beach was not too crowded at that time. The place is really huge and there was a lot of construction going on during our visit, mostly of additional rooms. Here are unpublished photos from the trip!

It has I think about 2 wave pools, a lap pool, a jacuzzi pool, one for the kids plus a beach which gives you so many options to choose from. The people there were so accommodating! They even gave us a tour around the resort plus everyone greets you with their sweet smiles!

A must try are these 2 slides, the big bowl and the other one (forgot what its called) One that requires guts to try but it was really fun!

An hour of free kayaking for the guests

Lap Pool

Infinity pool overlooking the beach

Sunrise <3

I would really go back to this place for a quick getaway. The prices may be a bit higher than our budget friendly spontaneous getaways but it was really worth it! Good staff, good food, nice place. Plus the sunsets are so nice too! And there are so many activities you can do inside the resort!

Throwback!

2016-04-22T02:51:00.001-07:00

And... we are now on our fourth month of the year! I can't believe how fast everything is happening. Although this first quarter's a bit of a challenge emotionally, mentally and physically this little girl's fighting her way to a more positive year! Let's cross our fingers because things seem to be turning out pretty good around here :)

Before I move on to my new-self-look let's get rid of backlogs first!
Here are outtakes from a practice shoot I had with one of my bestest friend Pau.

Ripped Jeans: Bench Sunnies: Cotton On Denim Flats: Zalora

Channeling the Georgina - Solenn Besties cover!

This was actually one of my favorite afternoons with them. See how much we enjoyed? And most of the shots are candid ones. Maybe one day she'll be a great paparazzi hahaha! Oh how I miss my long hair! Oh well, living the "to new things" motto for 2016!

I Accept

2016-01-29T04:26:00.002-08:00

After a week of attending to life's endless dramas, here I am again pulling myself up, resisting the urge to spend the whole day on the couch watching itsjudyslife vlogs. Lately, I've been so hooked with their vlogs that I actually think of doing one. They are so transparent with everything - from their fights to the happy moments. Watching Julianna bear and her conversations with the twins are soooo addicting! I swear you should check them out on youtube! But sometimes you just have to move your ass off the couch because you have so many things to attend to (like your blog posts Angela!)

I can't wait to share with you guys my amazing experience with my best friend when we visited Davao. This one was different because everything was just so spontaneous! Oh! And I'm proud to say I'm so motivated with everything right now in achieving 2016's fitness, school and travel goals! Well, there are some major tweaks and adjustments that are to be done but as they say Life Goes On. Thanks to yoga and a lot of workload, I'm slowly coping up. Baby steps, no rushing here.

As my first yoga lesson says: I Accept

10 Life Lessons of a Twenty-something

2016-01-22T07:15:00.000-08:00

WARNING: Long post ahead! (Took me days to finish this HAHA)
I've been getting a lot of questions lately from close friends asking or worrying what it's gonna be like when you step out of college or the I-don't-want-to-graduate-I-just-want-to-study rants. Being the ate of the batch and a most-of-the-time-pondering-and-reflecting-about-life person, I thought why not write a blog post and share with you guys things I wish someone warned me about. No sugar coating here!

1. Ready Yourself For Surprises Along The Way

Even though you feel like you're in control of everything, YOU ARE NOT. May it be an opportunity knocking at your door or a surprise guest that's about to shatter what you have now, be prepared. As they say, Life's full of surprises. Better be ready!

2. Things Don't Go Exactly The Way You Planned Them

Most. Of. The. Time. and I mean it. Rejected thesis proposals, delayed graduation, your GWA missing a .10 for that latin honors - Yes, I know. Things happen. But don't worry, you can cope up. Think about it as God preparing you for greater things ahead!

3. Self-reflect, It Helps A Lot

Always allot some alone time for yourself. Reflect about how life has been for you. It's in these moments that we realize what needs improvement and what makes us happy. Remember as the song goes: Learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all!

4. You Don't Have To Decide Now

You're in that stage where you are not so sure if you'd start acting as an adult or you'd still cling to that kid inside you. Don't worry too much. Think of it as the world welcoming you to a new door. You don't have to stress yourself out making solid decisions for your future. Now's the time perfect time to discover the how to's of life.

5. Forgive. Accept. Let Go. Move On

I know, easier said than done. May it be an old friend, a relative, a stranger or a relationship - things happen. There are no shortcuts here but I'm sure you'll meet a stronger version of yourself in the end. So instead of dwelling and rotting in the past might as well continue and face things with a smile! :)

6. Cry When You Need To

I swear I cry a lot. I cry when I'm disappointed, mad, happy or sad. I cry when I know I need to so I'd avoid unwanted arguments, so that I won't utter things I don't really mean to say. It's one way of letting go of the baggage you've been carrying so you can try to start moving forward. Cry now, smile tomorrow! :)

7. Live One Day At A Time

One of the many things my mom taught me is to live one day at a time. Never rush growing up. Even if you feel as if you're older than most people you know, you're still that lost twenty-something figuring things out like most of the others around you. Enjoy things. Plan but don't let your plans hinder you from trying new things. What you dislike now might end up what interests you tomorrow. Be open to possibilities. Remember there are 365 days in a year, make those days as colorful as possible!

8. Never Lose The Kid In You

I love kids! And most of the time acts child-like (not childish ha!) around people I'm comfortable with. I'm the Ate at home but feel like the Bunso (or not) hahaha! It just fascinates me how things look so simple when you're a kid. You enjoy life more and see beauty in the smallest things! Plus! It also makes you look younger because youth comes from the inside diba?!

9. Learn to compromise but know when to stop

In life, you never ever ever get everything the way you want it. Sometimes to make things work you have to learn to compromise. Being the one to compromise does not mean you are the weaker one. It just shows how much you value and understand others. It shows how you are willing to give up things to open up for greater ones. But remember know when to stop, never ever give everything up to the point that it makes you unhappy or worse, lose yourself in doing so.

10. Life's full of crap

Yes. I don't want to sugar coat it for you guys. Apparently, that line you often hear from the movies is somehow true. There will always be these negative forces outside your bubble trying to pull you down - from disappointments, failures, unmet expectations, failed relationships, insecurities, the list goes on and on. But other than these are more blessings you need to be thankful for like arriving safely at school, friends that keep you company or that jeepney ride you've been waiting for for hours. Like what I always believe in Optimism is the key to life's shitty moments. Always see the good side in everything and you shall enjoy and live every moment the best way you can :)

I'm no expert in here and these are just my opinion (which are based from my experience, by the way) but those late night talks made me realize that most of us have the same questions in mind.
I hope this helps you guys out there with questions waiting to be answered.

Comment down if you have something to share too!

Rebirth

2016-01-14T20:49:00.002-08:00

After almost a year of not writing here, I finally decided to go back to this blog. I have been working on it since December and I'm proud to say that I fixed everything here all by myself! I was actually considering a career shift while editing my site. (or not! with all the codes you have to understand) I couldn't have done it without the help of my trusted friend Google. Thank you Google! Another huge step I made was purchasing kyrstynnevargas.com as a Christmas gift for myself. I'm hoping this would push me more to write and push my dreams for this blog. As for now, I'll be posting here throwback snaps of my 2015 roller coaster ride until I get rid of all my amazing adventures and unfortunate moments last year.

Two weeks into 2016 and I can say I'm making baby steps towards my dreams! Patience is a virtue indeed. Crossing my fingers #BangBang2016 will rule this year!

50 First's

2014-06-05T20:11:00.001-07:00

I'm a huge sucker for first's of anything. Who wouldn't be right? And sometime's when you're with someone for so long it gets even better because you find it in the simplest things you do together. Talk about being cheesy! Haha! This was my first dressed up date with the guy and I swear I'm getting in to him because before we went and see each other he called me asking "Ano isusuot mo? Para alam ko akin." Haha! I find it cute because I get to make him do what I enjoy doing - dressing up. We went to Mind Museum and enjoyed like kids there. I'll share photos with you guys!

Shoes: Barbie by Shubiz

Dress: Bayo

Meet the man behind most of my outfit shots! Pogi diba! It's not very often that he agrees on posing with me. Medyo masungit si koya! Haha! Let's see if I can make him agree on getting his shots taken :)

Bloggers United 7 Photodiary

2014-06-03T08:06:00.000-07:00

Here's a quick post after two days of not updating here. Still working at this time of the night so I'm gonna make this post quick and share with you guys how awesome my BU7 experience is. I enjoyed this 7th installment of Bloggers United because there were less people there and more booths to choose from. Although my sister nearly fainted (as in! her lips were so white na!) before we got in because of the intense heat, everything was worth the wait. There were so many activities and it was very interactive. Our hairkada selfie even won that day!

The Sunsilk booth was also there to give everyone free hair makeovers. COOL RIGHT!

Free mani/pedi/change polish for everyone in the Nail it! booth

We won shades from Fly shades because of our hairkada selfie!

You wouldn't go hungry because of the food trucks outside Metrotent.

My favorite bloggers together in one picture. So cute!

Sorry girls!

With Mama Arnie

Aren't they the cutest couple ever!

I enjoyed BU7 so much because of this first timer here! I'm still working on getting her start her own blog :)

There were so many girls waiting for Vern and Verniece and we didn't get the chance to grab any of their stuff. But we were lucky enough to have a picture with them!

They announced that they're having a book this June! I'm so excited for this!

Too bad we left early because there were more surprises later that afternoon.

We'll surely be ready for the next one. BU8 see you!!

Surprise surprise!

2014-05-30T22:16:00.000-07:00

Blogging from a friend's house right now to celebrate their thesis performance. I'm so proud of these guys! I'll be sharing with you guys some pictures from their performance. Anyway, I wore this outfit last Mother's day. I had taken my outfit shots on a different place before this but when I saw this mural, I just couldn't resist it! I'm a huge fan of street art because of my Hum 1 subject before and what made me more proud is seeing that it was made by the UP College of Fine Arts. Proud Iska over here! I'm using a Muni x Moonleaf planner now and I love their artworks there!

Top: Nuvali, Outlet Store Skirt: Divisoria Sneakers: SM Department Store

I told you it's wonderful right?

I'm off to school again next week and I'm so excited for so many things!

You and I

Pull-over and Dress: BU6

Making this post really short since I'm off to a meeting in a bit.

I can't think of a more creative title but Ingrid Michaelson's You and I has been stuck in my head since last night! Anyway, this is one of my favorite laid back outfits this summer. I've been abusing this dress since I got it at BU6. Super love the cut-outs at the sides but I chose to wore a pull-over on top of it because I'll get a lot of stares in school if I don't :))

I'm on my second-summer-sem this coming week (Mid-Year as they call it) and rehearsals too for the Ang Nawalang Kapatid's re-run. I'm excited and nervous at the same time because of the hardcore workouts and training again. This time I'll be sharing pictures with you guys our re-run journey! :)

Photodiary: Alice at 18

2014-05-28T19:04:00.000-07:00

I know every girls dreams of that fairy tale 18th birthday celebration. And as promised, here's are photos on a friend's debut that we've attended last April. I just had to share this with you guys since it's really one of the dream debuts a girl would wish for. It happened at Fernwood Gardens and everything about the party was just so dreamy! I'll let these pictures do the talking for you! :)

Oh and I forgot to tell you these are my theater friends. Excuse the very animated faces! Haha!

Dress: Gift from Tita Marian Shoes: Barbie by Shubiz

Back to regular programming again! Woohoo! Got my much needed break from my 4-day beach vacation with family and friends. Sorry for not updating again! I'm so excited to share with you guys my most unforgettable experiences this summer! But first, I have to get rid of these posts first. Here's what I wore to a friend's debut last April. Talk about late post. I know. Sorry! Haha! I've been keeping this dress for a long time in my cabinet because it won't fit me before. Thanks to my ANK training. The long hours of circuit training, dancing and rehearsals paid off and I have my bonus prize pa!

Sorry for the crappy shots! These were from my phone.

I'll be posting a photo diary of that night too because it was really something to remember! :)

Playground

2014-05-21T10:00:00.000-07:00

Probably you guys are wondering why the title is Playground when I'm not really taking these shots at a playground. Haha! I just look like I'm playing on one in these photos. Like a kid, twirling around with her skirt. This is just one of the many backlogs I have pending here and as promised to my baby blog, I will try my very best to post here everyday. Hooray for me! These pictures were taken during the Holy Week somewhere in Antipolo where we did our yearly ritual of Bisita Iglesia. It saddens me how the place was so full of garbage that I had to edit out the trash in the background of some photos :(

Top from Forever 21 (BU6 from Mama Arnie! :))

Pearl bracelet from Davao

By the time you read this, most likely I'm on the road somewhere traveling to Puerto Galera. I'm so excited for this beach trip since it will be my first for this summer! And I haven't mentioned to you guys that I'm taking 4 semesters this year to cope up with my transferring (summer,midyear,1st sem ad 2nd sem). I won't say it sucks because I'm actually enjoying the busy schedule :)

Where have you been this summer? :)

Starting Over Again

2014-05-20T07:24:00.000-07:00

And I'm back!! I'm so excited to blog again and I missed it so much! Sorry for being away for so long. School became so busy especially with Ang Nawalang Kapatid happening (watch out for our re-run this July!). I know the title sounds so cliche but it's what I'm feeling right now. I am actually feeling like a stranger in my own blog. NOOOOO! Haha! Kidding aside, I decided I can't really give up this baby. It serves as my stress reliever and I know it will really help me especially this coming school year (hoping for something really great when May comes *pray with me guys*) And honestly, this blog teaches me responsibility and time management. Wooah! Even with the 5-month hiatus, I still take my outfit photos and find the time to think of my posts. I chose this one as a come back post because I was again inspired by all the bloggers in BU7! Backlogs, sorry but I just had to post this one first. Haha! I'll try to share with you my BU7 experience on another post!

Top: Ripples by Jenny Skirt: The Ramp (Gift) Sandals: SM Department Store

I felt so happy seeing this photo! Thank you I am Meg for this photo! I was not able to take a decent outfit shot for that day since I was so excited to shop and see all the bloggers there.

I hope you guys are still with me and my blog!

Do you like my new blog layout? I tried my very best guys! :)

Free times

2013-12-31T23:08:00.003-08:00

Happy New Year everyone! I hope all of you guys had a good time welcoming 2014! Before I go on with my 2013 realizations post, I'll get rid of my backlogs first. Sorry for being a lazy blogger. Rehearsals are really tight now that we are a month away from opening. Free times are either allotted with my family or spent sleeping. Haha! But I'm enjoying the busy schedule. You should watch out for us this February!

Last December 26, we celebrated my Dad's birthday at Tagaytay and had lunch there. And because everyone's there for the cold weather we chose to head down to Nuvali and Solenad immediately afterwards. If you guys are looking for cheap finds, you must head South and visit the bazaars and the outlet stores that they have. They have everything there! Fashion to sports to food and random things you can think of. Plus the place is really perfect for taking nice pictures. Haha! Weather here in Manila just makes me want to go back there :(

Vacation's passing by so quick! Are you guys ready to go back to school already? I think I'm not yet ready for it :( Haha!

Fantastic Baby

2013-12-10T09:03:00.000-08:00

You may be wondering why the title is Fantastic Baby for such a formal post. Well, this outfit is what I wore to one of my theatre lovies' birthday, Jessette. As friends, we have that mandatory performance and this warm up craze that we actually do before rehearsals with the song Fantastic Baby became our impromptu dance presentation. The best part is they didn't notice that we did not actually plan the dance. Imagine us dancing our hearts out in 5-inched heels. Haha!

The night turned really great! Special thanks to the best mom ever for finding me something to wear the night before the event. Sorry and thank you! :* What I loved about this dress is that it's all black giving you all the freedom to accessorize it. Another favorite! I'm sure you'll be seeing this again here!

*Sorry for the low quality photos. I don't know what happened but they became like that when I uploaded them here.

Photos by: Chase Salazar

So here's us dancing Fantastic Baby. Watch it guys!! I know you'll be entertained! :)

Never too old

2013-12-07T07:26:00.001-08:00

There has been a great shift to my everyday routine ever since we started rehearsing for our last production this year. I know I gained much more than the physical strength from the rigorous training that we are having. It has been a roller coaster ride and I love how I'm learning to love myself and the people around me more with each day.

On a lighter note, this blog is one of the greatest gifts I'll be having this Christmas :) As you can see, I'm trying my very best to update it everyday and it's making me dream more and more for the future :) Haha! The vintage dress I'm wearing here is from my mom's closet. I really love maxi dresses plus vintage clothing and the best place to find it is from our parent's drawers right?!

Hope everyone's having a great weekend! :)

Kid at heart

2013-12-04T08:38:00.003-08:00

So here's my super late photodiary of my cousin's birthday party which I told you in my previous post. Sorry for stalling and stalling my posts. Now I have a long list of late posts waiting na. Well back to the post, I'm a huge fan of parties like this because it really brings out the kid in me. My 7-year old side enjoyed it as much as the other kids did. Plus! The party had a Monsters University theme! Which is actually one of my favorite movies! Weird fact: I can say the lines of Monsters Inc. from beginning til the end if you'd dare me to. That's how I loved it! So imagine my excitement when I saw the place! By the way it was held at Water Nymph in Marikina. Sorry for bombarding this post with photos I just had to share them with you guys! :)

I really really wanted one of these!! I had a hard time refraining myself from asking for one. Haha!

Pogi Nathan showing his ID to me

This served as a name tag for the kids. I wouldn't let this one pass though!

Bravely asked for a giveaway. Haha!

See how I enjoyed? Haha! My dream of entering Hogwarts may have been shattered when I turned 11 and no express mail came but who would have thought my 19 year old self will be a student in Monsters University right?! :)

A Little Bit of Blue

2013-11-24T05:36:00.002-08:00

Top: Kamiseta Shoes: Sebago Pants: Greenhills

Getting rid of my back logs. I know this post is super late already. As you can see. I'm currently obsessed with casual wear. I find it convenient for the bipolar weather here. This cropped top is actually one of my favorite pieces since it can be worn in two ways. I got it at 70% off in Kamiseta and I'm even planning on getting the brown and gray one. Seriously! I wore this to my cousin's 7th birthday which had the theme Monsters University. I'm really a sucker for birthday parties like this and I really enjoyed it as much as the little kids did! I'll be sharing a photo diary with you guys so you'll know why :)

Throw back

2013-11-02T08:01:00.002-07:00

Last Wednesday, I got my feet checked because of the pain I'm feeling for the past months. Good thing it's nothing serious but I just found out through the X-ray that I have this misplaced bone in my feet. COOL RIGHT?! Ok, maybe not that cool but I was really fascinated by how the doctor explained it. Haha! After the check-up we headed to Pan de Amerikana to have lunch and everything was screaming THROW BACK TO HIGH SCHOOL!!! I'm not exaggerating if I tell you guys that all I was saying the whole time was "Doon o nagshoot kami dyan", "Inurong pa namin mga gamit", "Grabe nakakamiss!" Serious! I remember way back 4th year we were tasked to film a short trailer for El Filibusterismo and we did some of the shots here and even in Intramuros. CAREER! Imagine almost 45 of us traveling and shooting there. Haaay! I miss those days!! I'll share with you guys how awesome this place is on another post. For now, here is what I wore to a casual day with the family.

I had so much fun taking these pictures because my sister was the one who took them and she also requested that I get my shots here at this bridge. I insisted on another part of the restaurant since heights are a big NO for me. She ended up being the chicken one hence the shaky photos. SORRY! :))

Funny story: I was about to wear sneakers for that day but chose to wear these sandals instead so it'll be easier for the doctor to check my foot. She ended up scolding me because these are too thin and flat. No more flats for me na daw. For outfits na lang! Haha!

My official photographer who I'm forcing to work on her blog.
Kamille Vargas

Wait for my post on this beautiful place! It's very close to my heart (because my school is near this) and it has good food too! I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do!

Back on track

2013-10-24T07:30:00.001-07:00

I know I'm the laziest blogger ever. Sorry and here I am telling everyone that I'm making up for it. Hahaha! It has been a roller coaster ride for me these last three months and I just had to prioritize things. Tsk! This sounds too old :)) Any way, I got Ralph and Chase, my theater friends, on this blog project that's why I'm feeling confident this time. The more the merrier! So this is what I wore last Monday to school. We've been having dance workshops for almost two weeks now. Intense conditioning and training!

And because I'm late for our shoot, I ended up shooting on the rehearsal venue at two places pa!! Yes. Lame blogger award. Haha! Forgive me please!! Good thing Chase is really good! Visit her blog here!

I fell in love with this skirt when I saw it hanging on the wardrobe. My mom got it for a low price and it has a slit on the side and is very light and comfortable to wear. JACKPOT! I used one of my BU5 hauls as a top here even though it's a dress. You'll be seeing more of it coz it's becoming a favorite na :)

And here are my failed attempts on achieving that twirl effect! Hahaha! Me being myself in front of the camera. Sorry! :)

Thinking on taking conditioning classes.. I've been dreaming on going on one but thinking twice since I have no one to go with :( But our workshops are really pushing me towards it! Haha!

Photos by Chase Salazar

I missed shooting for my blog so I think you guys are going to see more of me here!

DUP x The Duchess of Malfi/Ang Dukesa ng Malfi

2013-08-12T19:53:00.001-07:00

"This September, Dulaang UP continues its tradition of bringing world classics to the Filipino audience through the first major Philippine production of John Webster’s The Duchess of Malfi. Dark and visceral, The Duchess of Malfi is widely held as the greatest of Webster’s works and the most gripping of the Jacobean tragedies. It has mesmerized and shocked audiences since it was first staged 400 years ago in 1613.

The Duchess of Malfi is renowned for producing what could probably be theatre’s most compelling female protagonist and two of its most twisted villains.

The play follows the story of a recently widowed duchess as she decides to go against her scheming brothers by secretly marrying her personal steward. The discovery of her deception engulfs everyone in a tumultuous and maddening whirlpool of envy, incest, greed, destruction, and death. The characters’ struggle for and against their desires forces us to ask ourselves, “How far will we go for pleasure?”

DUP’s production also features Ang Dukesa ng Malfi as translated into Filipino by Palanca awardee Allan Palileo. Raid My Closet's Meet & Greet

2013-08-06T09:06:00.000-07:00

I still can't believe I was one of the 10 lucky readers chosen to attend Arnie Villanueva's Meet and Greet to celebrate the 2nd year of her blog, Raid My Closet. Her blog's one of the inspirations I have in this blogging world. I love how she keeps everything simple but classy and her outfits are really wearable. I was really really nervous the night before! To the point na I'm asking myself if I should still go thinking na baka lumabas yung introvert side ko. Hahaha! But I know I made the right decision. It was just 2 hours but I get to meet people who are also blogging and made new friends as well. I'll let the pictures tell you how awesome the day was. :)

Super delicious cupcakes from DonCha Pastries

We had the M&G at Tea 101 in Tomas Morato. Super cozy ng vibe ng place maybe that's why endless chikkahan lang ang peg namin :)

Sweet message written on the loot bags :)

Ms. Arnie looked so cute trying to break the shyness in the air. She showed us how she made her list of ideas on what to do just so we won't get bored. Effort! We even played Pinoy Henyo! Haha!

Henyo word with Pat

I love Red Velvet. There's no question to that. But when I tasted this Oreo Cheesecake which Zandy asked me to try, it became a new favorite! It's so delicious and soft and not too sweet. Aaaghhh! Craving for it now!

We talked and talked and talked jumping from one topic to another. Sharing stories. It was really nice because there was really no dull moment. From getting to know to love stories, school, fashion. My favorite part is the Q&A (thanks to Monica hahaha!) where we asked questions to Ms. Arnie. My favorite was her tips on blogging. "Magblog lang kayo ng magblog. Wag niyo isipin yung mga sponsors and freebies kasi bonus lang yang mga yan." This is to all aspiring bloggers out there. It takes patience to reach something. This inspired me a lot to continue blogging for the passion not for the good stuff! :)

Monica and Enchie the "love team of the day"

I admire Ms. Arnie because she's such a down-to-earth person.

Thank you so much for this M&G and for the new friends!! I will never forget this day :)

And finally a decent picture of us together :-bd

Guns and Wars

2013-08-03T08:49:00.005-07:00

Sorry for my lame title! I remember one of my dreams before was to enter PMA and be a female soldier. But due to lack of sleep and milk, I wasn't blessed with enough height to qualify for the academy. Haha! Well, the print on my leggings reminds me of the camouflage the soldiers used to wear. I love the colors on it and the way they make my thighs look smaller!

This is what I wore to Raid My Closet's Meet and Greet this afternoon at Tea 101. I had so much fun and it was really nice making friends with other readers! Happy blogsary to Ms. Arnie! I'll be blogging about the event in another post. Good thing the sun showed itself later in the afternoon. Went back to UP for these shots.

Favorite sneakers! :)

Late bloomer ang love for aztec ko!
