Lisa's cosmetic sale

Hi, so I went to the Lisa's cosmetic sale again this year. Lol last time I went was may and again on Monday. I went with a friend this time, we had to wait in line for around 30-45 min. We went in the afternoon.

We looked at the makeup first, I was a bit disappointed since there was nothing new. They did have new smashbox liner set ($10), they are small but wasn't too bad. They had a set of lipgloss that I was excited to get but when I saw them, they where so small, like deluxe sample size for $15. Didn't them.

I got a lot of gifts this year and a few stuff for me. The perfumes are always a great deal. So got a few as gifts.

Here is my haul. Enjoy.

Water marble nail art - Purple and Green

So a few days ago I came across someone on YouTube doing a nail art using water. I got really interested so I looked into a few different videos to see how its done. Yesterday i decided to try it out for my self. Here is my result.

So here is what you need to do this nail art.
1. Cup or bowl of room temp water. Make sure you don't use it for food afterward, since nail polish gets stuck on the edge.
2. Your nail polish in 2 or more colours.
3. Top coat/ Base coat
4. Nail polish remover
5. Toothpick (a few helps if you make a mistake)
6. Cotton sub
7. Tape
8. Tissue, napkin or cloth to clean up

I choose these colours

At first I wanted to use 3 colours that why I also picked the OPI nail polish, but later I noticed that it was causing the layer to dry up super fast that I couldn't create more rings. Therefore I just used the two colour above.

This was my top coat. Nothing special.

Step 1: Open all the nail polish bottles and keep them near the cup of water.

Step 2: Paint a base colour. First time I didn't and the marble worked but was really faint in colour.

Step 3: Tape your finger around your nail to keep it clean. You will need nail polish remover handy after to clean up.

Step 4: Now you have to work quickly for this. Put a drop your first nail polish colour into the water

It will start to create a circle, kinda

Step 5: Put a drop of your second colour into the water, in the center of the first one.

It will start to create rings.

Step 6: Repeat step 4 and 5, until you get around 3 set of ring. If you use more then 2 colour then add your other colours and repeat.

You will get something like this at the end.

Step 7: Take a toothpick and draw a pattern. It's easy to create a flower looking pattern.

Step 8: Place your finger in the middle of your pattern and sink into the water.

Step 9: Give it a few second and you can blow on the surface of the water to harden the nail polish on top.

Step 10: It was hard for me to take a picture since i need bother my hands for this step. With your free hand use a cotton sub and remove the extra nail polish around your finger and water. by the end your cup should not have any nail polish floating around.

Step 11: Your finger should look something like this, let it dry a bit and remove the tape and your marble nails are almost done.

Step 12: Use cotton sub and nail polish remover to clean the edge and your finger if needed. Then put on top coat one your nail is dry.

Repeat these steps with other nails if you want to just do one two. This is the design that mine came out to.
Your pattern will be different based on the marbling.

Look what I found in Canada

So I have heard amazing reviews about Aussie 3 minute miracle, and I wanted to try it. I looked for it at Shoppers Drug Mart, Rexall, Walmart and Zellers with no luck. I figured they don't have this product in Canada, so next time I go to the states I have to grab a few bottles.

And then today, I went to Zellers to see what they have for their store closing sale. (side note: Zellers will become Target soon) I was looking at makeup (not on sale yet) and then I looked at shampoos, and THERE IT WAS.... A few bottles of Aussie 3 minute miracle. So I grabbed 2, that should last me awhile.

Beauty tip

So, I havd been thinking of different ways to use some of my products. I came up with an unique way to use a colour eye liner. I have an Avon glimmerstick in plum. Very pretty colour but I hardly use it. So i've stated to use it as a cream eyeshadow. Works great as an crease colour.

Only down side is, it doesn't last as long as a normal eyeshadow. But at least I'm getting some use out of this eye liner.

Unexpected mini haul

So I was at Sears today just looking around. No plan to buy anything. Then I saw a table with a lot of stuff and 50% off sign. So I had to see what is on the table. To my surprise it was Cake products and H2O products.

I read carefully and the sign said 50% of the lowest ticketed price. OMG I had to see if there was anything I wanted. I could have gotten more but stopped myself.

I grabbed 3 things.
Cake -milk made velveteen hand cream
Orig price $18, ticket price $9, payed $4.50

Then I got two H2O products
H2O Aqualibrium de-stress marine gel mask
Orig price around $25, ticket price $15, payed $7.50

H2O oasis hydrating booster
Orig price around $50, ticket price $21, payed $10.50

There was a lot of cake gift sets and shower gels. I decided try these for now.

They told me Sears is removing these product line that's why they are on sale.

Check your local sears maybe you can get them on discount too

Fake Urban Decay on ebay

So two days ago, I used my sisters Urban Decay Naked pallet and loved it. Yesterday I looked into the price at Sephora ($60 CND) so I started looking at ebay to see if I can save a few dollars. I came across a few sellers where the price was high, not much savings there.

THEN I came across a seller that had it for less then $40 with free shipping, I was like OMG such an amazing deal. I read the post (I always do before I bid anything) and the seller stated not to ask if this is an authentic Urban Decay product, since they get it from a wholesaler and doesn't know. Alarm bells went off.

Could there be fake Urban Decay Naked pallet like there is fake MAC products? The answer is yes, there can be :(

I came across a few youtube video showing fake Naked pallet and Naked pallet 2. Like the MAC ones they look almost the same but not the same quality.

No no ebay deal for me, I'm hoping to go to the states soon, then I'll pick one up.

Just a warning of anyone look into Urban Decay Naked pallet on ebay, there is a lot of fakes out there.

So glad I didn't bid of any.

June empties

This month was a hard one, since I had very few things that was close to being finished. I managed to finish these items.

I finished:
Lush bath bomb ickle baby bot
Lush retread conditioner
Mac lip gloss
A body scrub from Yves rocher

I hope next moth is better.

Let me give you a few information about these products. I posted this blog really quickly so I didn't give to much details before.

I liked the Abricot scrub by Yves Rocher until the end. Near the end it smelled really strong of herbs and wasn't as sweet. I didn't like using it to much when it smelled bad. But normally it was a nice sweet sent. I have a lot of scrubs, so won't buy this one any time soon.

The retread conditioner was really good, I used it as a deep conditioner. Not sure if I would buy it again, just because of the price tag.

The Ickle bath bomb was really nice, turned the water blue and smelled really good. I think I'll buy it again.

The MAC lip gloss (3D glass) in Synched Up, was a really nice peachy coral colour. I liked it a lot. This was one of my first lip gloss from MAC. It took forever to finish. I know it look like there is more product, but its all stuck on the side and I can't get it out. I also heard that if you take the stopper off then you can't back to mac it. Let me know if that's true or not? I don't think I can get this colour again, I believe it was limited edition.

Anyways, I'll see what I can finish next month. I don't have to many things that is low anymore, so its getting harder to finish products.

Bath and body works Semi-annual sale

Hi, yes I got a bit haul crazy again. Funny thing is I wasn't going to go to this sale, cause I wanted to use up my other products but I couldn't help my self. I tried not to get too much, hahaha. I went to the sale yesterday (June 26).

Oh I noticed from seeing youtube video that the Canadian sale is different from the US one. They seem to have a lot more items that is 75% off while, we only get 50%. Anyone one else see that?

It was one heavy bag to carry around ;)

I stated with the soap since they were only $3 each. I got two kitchen lemon, gave one to my mother in law. Then I got the coconute lime, and it smells amazing, i'm going to see if I can get a shower gel or lotion. And finally I got the peach bellini.

I wanted to get the coconut one but they where all out. I also wanted to get the Bali mango shower gel but they where all out also. I grabbed the lotion. Haven't tried it before, but smells good.

Since only during this sale does the original scents come out, i had to grab a few. I wanted to get the exotic coconut lotion, but they where all out. I already have the body spray for both of these scents.

I never tried the be enchanted before, but it smelled really good and looks so pretty, so I decided to give it a try.

These where at the front counter, the orange lotion was only $2 and the peach was only $1.

I went mostly to get home scent, and was disappointed with the limited stock. There was only two scents for the scent portable, the sweet cinnamon pumpkin and mind chocolate. I'm not a big fan of chocolate scented things, so I got this one.

I might go to another location next week and see if I can get more home scents, and different items. I want pretty late in the sale yet its still only 50% off, I hope the price drops soon and goes down to 75%. But there is only 1 week left.

victoria secret haul

So, its end of June and all the semi-annual sale is here. I never got a chance to go to the Victoria Secret sale before. So I had to go check it out. I got a few things that I wanted to try. Here is my haul.

So I just got a few things only, didn't go cray. All makeup was 50% off, so it was good time to try things

I really wanted to try this concealer, so glad I got it 50% off.

I got a free lip gloss at christmas with my purchase, and since then I wanted to get more. They are normally buy 3 for $10, but at the sale they where around $3 each. So I grabbed two of them. R to L: Mocktail Hour and ShineBerry.

Also I never tried their lipstick but hear a lot of good things about them. I decided to get the pinky brown shade, called Big Kiss

Finally when I saw this I had to get it, its their eyeshadow pallet. It's called Fearless, from the Bold Sparkle sexy collection. I love the colours. I haven't played with them yet.

May Empties

So this month I did quite well with my empties. I tried project 10 pan and would always fail, so this is helping me control how much I buy and use. I'll let you know if i would buy these products again or not, and maybe do a mini review.

So lets get started...

So this month I have finished 6 products. I'm so happy.

Live Clean Shampoo and Conditioner

These two just got finished yesterday. I'm so glad they are done. I wanted to try these Live Clean shampoo and conditioner because its sulfate free. I did not like this product. Sometimes it would make my hair really dry and hard to manage. I will not be buying these again. One the positive, they did smell good.

Bath and Body Works lotion

So I went crazy a year ago with the Hello Yellow sale at Bath and Body Works, therefore I have a LOT of Bath and Body Works stuff. I managed to finish a full size Twlight Woods body lotion and a mini Forever Sunshine lotion. Both of them I really liked. Once I go through all my other lotion, I will get these again. I do have a full size Forever Sunshine lotion that I haven't touched yet.

Bath and Body Works Pocket Pac

This pocket pac took while to finish, I had it hanging off my bag for the longest time and used it when I remembered. It smelled really good. I would get this sent again, but first I need to finish my other ones.

Mac Studio Fix

And Finally I finished my Mac Studio Fix in NC42. This one took the longest to finish, I'm sure I had this for more then 3 years now. I really liked this power and would buy it again. I want to try a few more things before I buy this one again.

So this was my empties this month, I hope next month I have a lot to show you also.

Maroon and blue nail tutorial

I know it's been awhile, I've just been so busy lately. Anyways I have this pretty nail tutorial to show you. Let me know if you like this or want to see more tutorials.

I used two different nail polish, a blue nail polish (Savvy) and a dark Maroon (Essie - Wicked). Also need a sparkly nail polish (Sally Hansen) and a top coat.

Step 1. Put on a clear base coat or skip the base coat and put on nail polish you want at the bottom of your nail. I'm using try blue as my base color.

Step 2. Rip a bit of a makeup sponge. I choose to rip it instead of using the full sponge to get a texture.

Step 3. Put the nail polish you want on the top of your nail on the sponge.

Step 4. Dab the nail polish on to your nail, starting from the edge and working down. The nail polish should be more concentrated at the edge and fade as it goes down.

Step 5. Put a coat of sparkly nail polish on top when it's almost dry.

Step 6. Finish with a top coat.

April Empties

So, people that know me, know that I have way to much makeup. I have tried Project 10 Pan a few times but failed every time, hahaha. So I decided to keep a track of my empties each month. That way I can see how much I finished. So here is my April empties.

So I managed to finish 4 products in April.

This is a NYX cupcake lip gloss, it took me forever to finish this lip gloss. I have 3 more :S. They come in a pack of 4. So, its not a bad lip gloss, kept my lips moisturized at night. Its such a cute packaging. Didn't have a taste or smell. Not sure if i would buy it again, mostly because I have use my finger to get the lip gloss.

I know you can't tell what this is, but it was my Lush Godmother soap. I smells really sweet, I'm not a huge fan but it was a good soap. Once you got out of the shower and let your skin dry, then you can tell how soft your skin got. I had a 100g bar, took me a few weeks to finish it. Not sure if I would buy this again, I love some of their other soaps more.

This is a smoothing hair serum by Avon. I really like this product. You need 1 or 2 pumps to put all over your hair and it looks soft and shinny. Best way to use it, is after a shower on damp hair. Don't put too much or else it will look oily. I'll get this product again after I finish my other smoothing oils.

This was a really good full cover foundation. Now that its getting hotter outside I'm glad this is finished, I feel like it would be too heavy in the summer time. It was a great foundation. I'll get it again once I finish my other ones.

Sot these where my april empties. I'll put up a May empties next moth or at the end of this one. It feels great to finish up some products.

Second trip to Lisa's warehouse sale Haul

So, I managed to go back to the Lisa's warehouse sale again. I went last Sunday with my family and some of my friends. Let just say I got a few of my friends hooked and they are now sad that the sale is over. I got in 5 minutes before the doors closed, I got so luck that I made it. I don't live close to the sale, it takes me about an hour to get there but its worth it :)

Anyways they let us get stay there for 1 hour after closing, so I grabbed what I could. Managed to get everything I wanted. This time I didn't want any more makeup (I have a LOT). So I went for the perfumes mostly. So here is my haul, enjoy...

So these are the items I got this time.

Lets start with Perfumes

This is Pupa Air de Fio, It only cost me $20, retail $75. Amazing deal smells great and looks so pretty.

I also got "Very Irresistible" by Givenchy for $58, retail $96. I'm really happy with both perfumes.

Hair Care

I decided to try these two, one is a hair spray and the other is a curl activation spray. The ISO Bouncyspray was $3.99 and the Joico spray was $1.49.

Foot Care

I wanted to get the Sally Hansen Salon intense callus remover, but there wasn't any left. So I decided to try this Borghese Satin callus remover. It was $3.99 I believe. I also got a pedicure set for $3.99 and a foot mask for $1.99.

On to Body care

I decided to get this honey wax for only $3.99 and the body mist by Dove was only $1.49.

Nail Polish again

Couldn't help my self, their deal was so amazing, I had to get some more. I got another gold magnetic nail polish, the gold works the best ($2.99). Revlon break art $2.49 and I believe the other ones where $0.99.

I wanted to try this lip gloss it was $1.49, and its amazing.

I haven't tried this yet, but was only $1.99 I believe.

Finally onto Face

I was going to get the eye gel only, but this kit was only $7 more and came with a cleaner and a face gel. it was only $24, retail $50. The eye gel at the sale was $17. So I picked up this kit.

That it, I'm really happy with what I got. The deals are amazing.

Tivoli magnetic nail polish

So I'm trying out this new nail polish. Here is a photo of what I have so far.

So after trying these nail polish a few times, here is my toughs. I love the design but its hard for it show up. I have 3 colors, Black, sliver and Gold.

So far the Gold is the best one. It seems to be the only one where the design shows up. Not sure if its the magnetic or the nail polish. I tried the black3 or 4 times and I can't seem to get any design to show up. Only once did it kind off worked and that's in this picture. I tried the silver and didn't get a design. I'll have to keep on trying.

Has anyone managed to get a cool design using the Tivoli magnetic nail polish? Or any of the other brands?

Haul: Lisa's Cosmetic wearhouse sale, spring 2012

So this past Sunday (May 6th) I managed to go to the Lisa's Cosmetic/Fragrances warehouse sale at Markham, ON. I heard about this sale two weeks ago, so this is the first time I went. I got there around 4 pm, and had to wait in line for around 15min to get in. That wasn't bad at all. I heard people say they had to wait for an hour.

Once you get in, you grab a red mesh bag to put your products in. Once I stepped I got overwhelmed by the amount of stuff there is. I went right to the makeup section, because my goal was to get a few of the Smashbox sets. Took me while to find the area. My husband said how there was huge sign saying Smashbox and yet I totally missed it.

Anyways here is my haul :)

I think I did well.

Nail polish

The Sally Hanson and the Tivoli nail polish where $0.99

The Be nail polish was $1.49

I know Sally Hanson ranges from $4-$7. The other brands not sure

Magnetic Nail polish :D

These where $2.99 each, I gave one to my sister. Most magnetic nail polish is around $10

Nail treatment

When I saw this I had to get it, just for fun. Its a heated eyelash curler $3.99

Eyebrow shapes only $0.99

La Coupe shampoo and conditioner $1.99 each. Normally they are around $7 each.

Now onto Marcelle

2 in 1 face & eye cleanser $5, retail price $13.50

All Marcelle make up was $2.49 and Annabelle was $1.99

Finally the really fun stuff :D

I got a Elizabeth Arden tinted moisturizer for only $13.99, my colour is Deep 4. They had a lot of foundation, and powder for Elizabeth Arden. Smashbox only had 2 shades of cream foundation that didn't match most people.

Smashbox

Their deal was you buy 3 items with the same price you get the 4th item (same price) free. So I got these items for $5.99 each. Can you believe it, only $5.99 each. total on these items I spent $17.97 for 4 Smashbox items.

This is what I really wanted from them. I got 2 of with Wish kits for $18.99 each, I believe the retail price would have been around $56.

I got the everyday glamour kit for $21.99 retail price was $68. The retail price I'm going of what I saw on the internet, so could be wrong.

And finally got a perfume

It cost me $39.00 for a $80 set.

Amazing deals and savings. I saved $413.38 in total.

Revlon warehouse sale - haul

This is going to be my very first haul :D, kinda excited.
So i went to a warehouse sale a last week for Revlon, and i wanted to share what i got from that sale. There was a lot of things from house, clothing, to makeup. But i'm only going to be showing you makeup things.

let see.... I got 4 nail polish 3 of them were for $5 and the clean one was $2.
note: all price is in Canadian $.

I got a bronzer called Suntan Matte # 020, i believe it was around $6 for that.
I got 2 blush from Revlon Floral collection, one is Honey Bunch #475, the other is Peachy Keen #470 around $5 each

Next i got few lipsticks, lip gloss. First is a lip treatment from Modele. its a clear lip treatment, the texture is similar to a lip balm. I got 2 super lustrous creme lipstick from Revlon, 2 colorstay lip color, one creme gloss, one colorstay overtime lip color, and one PURE lipstick.

This is a makeup remover pen, called Makeup Eraser pen, does a pretty good job. I believe it has makeup remover liquid inside and when you rub it over makeup it removes it.
