Flip Flopped

I'm flip flopped. Denim on top, color on bottom. Boom! Look out spring, my colored denim count is up to four! It's going to be a bold and fresh season this spring, where color is a must!

In other news, today my brother flies in from Oregon and tomorrow my sister flies in from Texas. When we all got so old that we live out of state and fly to see each other is beyond me. There will be much laughter, Carcassonne and unfortunately, my (not so little) brother will sit on me at some point and try and crack all my toes. It's the worst, but I can't escape it. At some point he realized he was stronger than me, and has been torturing me ever since. Some things you just never get too old for it seems. I can't wait!!

Shifting Seasons

It's officially here! According to my trusty planner (that I still use even though I'm done with school), it's the first day of Spring. Bring on the flowers, the allergies (anyone with me?), and brightly colored clothing. This morning I'm doing a little work from home before I head into the office. Though in many ways I'd like to stay in my sweat pants, statistics show that I am more likely to do better work when I feel good about myself and how I look! How about that? This H&M shift is oh so comfortable yet it is put together enough to motivate me to do my work well - even from the comfort of my home. As Spring's hectic schedule begins to shift into gear, I'm doing my best to take on life one moment at a time. Trying to view each day as a gift and not as a list of "to-do's" to get through. I hope you are able to do the same!

Baby Girl Baby Shower

This weekend I was a part of a baby shower throwing team. It was for one of my dearest friends, so I was excited to make the day as special as possible. It was the first shower I had ever thrown, so it was fun to come up with ideas and see them all come to life. My personal favorite detail was the thumbprint guestbook, which I am now offering on my etsy, if you just have to have it!

Didn't it all turn out so darling? Loved showering our friend with love.

I know most of you wont agree with this and you have every right to call me crazy... but I am just not ready for it to be summer yet! I love my boots, scarves and sweaters and summer means putting those to rest for a while. Do any of you agree with me on this one?!

Saturday was the perfect combo of a warm day with a touch of chilly. So I had no other choice that to bust out the maxi skirt but I wasn’t mentally ready to put the boots away and wear sandals... so I put them together! Maxi skirt and combat boots, the best of both worlds!

On the Run

Anyone else just feel constantly on the run? The other day was my first time in grad school where I literally ran to class, book bag flailing against my body. Casey, Em and Tor will love envisioning that when they read this, as I am sure you are too. It was not...great.

This outfit is one that I am finding I can just throw on, add a few touches, and be out the door. Spandex with a flowy top, somehow makes me feel relaxed when my day isn't. I am also digging the pink lipstick I am wearing paired with the gold choker, touches to the outfit that take two seconds but add much.

Got this post done just in time to head off to work. Sheesh.

I'll admit that I have been on a lace kick for a while now, but I'm recently jumping on board the "denim train." This shirt works so many ways. It is darling tucked into black pants or sported with a pair of blue jeans. You can even wear it unbuttoned over a dress. This one is Forever 21 but they are all over the place right now. I'm obsessed with these shorts. They were a Crossroads find. Fun to find shorts that have detail along the bottom - I really like that about them. This white watch is still my favorite watch. It's from Premier Designs. I love that it can look fancy and casual depending on what it's worn with. Finally, my necklace is a little dream catcher! Just wanted to give a shout out to my Indian heritage!

Casey and I are going to give some insight to how the Hana Titanium Flat Iron works on different hair lengths and natural textures. As you can see, this is the Bosler bed head (okay so I might be overdoing it with the last name, but it's changing soon so it wont last for long)!

I have naturally curly hair, but I brushed it out before it dried. Those of you with curly hair know to never "brush" your when it is wet because brushing will take the majority of the natural curl out.

I always start with the underneath layer of my hair when straightening, usually this is the curliest and hardest hair to straighten.

The HANA Titanium really gave my hair a shine that other flat irons don't.

This is the finished product!! By stroking the hair downward with a slight curve, the iron was able to create volume in my hair. If you know anything about girls from the central valley, you know how much we love our volume!

In order to get the most out of your stroke, always start at the top of the root. This way you will not have to repeat 3-4 strokes down your hair exposing your hair to 2X as much heat as it really needs. The more heat exposure your hair endures, the more it is susceptible to permanent damage.

Casey and I really got into straightening our hair and we were both SO late for our engagements!

Where do I even begin? If any of you have seen the Kony 2012 video already, then you know why it’s hard to even gather words...

A little insight into the lives of all four Trunk Ladies is that poor, needy, broken, and hurting people weigh heavy on our hearts on a daily basis. We know that these people are you and me, they are five miles away and five hundred thousand miles away. They are not limited to third world countries but they are in our backyards. The four of us have each been to Africa at different points in our lives which makes the Kony 2012 video all the more real. We encourage you to take some time to watch this because we couldn’t watch it and NOT respond. What is happening and what has already happened is a travesty. Help us join hands with Invisible Children and bring a voice to those who don’t have one. I would love for you to watch this video and see what it stirs up in your heart.

So-Cal has been a little cray-cray lately. High 80's one day, low 60's the next. This weekend, I capitalized on the summer like day, by wearing bold colors and fresh prints. Out with the wool and gray, in with the light and bright! To complete my summer-in-March day, I snagged an iced caramel macchiato. Is there anything better than cold Starbucks to treat yourself while running errands on a hot day? I submit, there is not.

Garage Sale

Many of you know how much we like to garage sale, thrift shop, and find free treasures on the side of the road. Well, we finally decided that we had accumulated enough stuff and it was time to sell some of it back.

Our friend Caroline, Emily, and I had a very successful sale this weekend. And, it was so much fun, we're going to do it again! Next time we'll just make sure we know how to turn off the sprinklers so they don't go off THREE times! *Formal apology to our customers*

The coolest item there was Emily's antique table. She bought it from a clothing store that was going out of business. She repainted it a darling mint green and used it as a TV stand and then as a gardening table.

Tennis Time

Its a beautiful day for tennis, so I went to the courts and took some shots just to show you my moves. What you cant see are my freshly painted nails with this new favorite color!! The shade is "A crewed interest" which is the perfect light coral. I am always buying new colors that I think will make my hands look tan, specially at the end of the winter months (right now). This color totally does the trick! Number one thing on my list this weekend, LAY OUT!!

Someone Had a Case of the Mondays

I couldn't have had more due this Monday in school. I had papers due, presentations to do, books to have had read and the list goes on! It is one thing to have a boat load of work, and another to have a weekend leading up to that Monday full of parties and social commitments. I didn't have quite the time you would want for so many things being due, but I told myself I just needed to get through Monday. And I did. Ahh, yes, it is over. Though I keep going back to when my professor, in the middle of my presentation asked me of which government I was referring to, and I had no idea, I am choosing to let it go. Though I would love to see the face I made when she asked me, and I replied nervously, "The Roman?" Yikes, no more thinking about it. It is over. I did the best I could with the little time I had, and I am letting the results go.

In other news, these pics show some current trends I am loving. Colored pants: my mustard yellow ones are going to be a hit this spring, I can feel it. Lipstick: all colors! I just got this pack of 12 lipsticks for valentines day, and I have worn a color (and mixing even) every day since. Most lipstick bundles are of cheap quality or throw in a couple of weird colors, but this is not one of those packs. Awesome quality, awesome color, awesome awesome.

A Night at the Oscars

Okay, don't get too excited.

You have to be famous to get into those parties. We're not famous, we just wanted to see the lights, the sparkling dresses, and the fur coats first hand. We spent hours in the Beverly Hills Hotel people watching by the fire in the lobby. A variety of accents echoed through the room. It made me think of Old Hollywood films and what life used to be like there. I hope you don't mind that I'm featuring yet another one of my Mom's old dresses. It's a vintage (because it's 30 years old!) Gunne Sax by Jessica dress.

I curled my hair with the Remington rod - a tool that I have come to love and adore. It is an extremely easy and FAST way to fix your hair. And it will last a couple days if you don't shower.

I also wore my favorite BCBG heels. They have been one of the best purchases I have made for my wardrobe. You know I love my garage sales and thrift store finds, but I recognize that there are some things worth splurging for. Would you agree?

The Bosler Brows

Hey Ladies!! I am guessing there are some of you who are scared to fill in your eye brows because you don't know how to or you're just afraid you're going to look like one of the Kardashian sisters if you do. Today I want to give an eye-brow contouring tutorial in order to escape both of these situations, so let's get started.

First, it is very important to have the right tools. The latest product I have been using is BareMinerals brow color in dark blonde, BareMinerals brow brush, BareMinerals eyelash comb, and the BareMinerals eye brow gel. (I bought these in a value pack)

I always save my eyebrows for the last step of my daily make-up routine. This way I don't have to worry about being carful when applying my foundation and powder, etc.

To start I always comb those unruly brows before I get started, swiping in an upward motion.

I dip my brush in the lid to get just enough color but not too much. Always start out light, you can add more as you go but it is harder to correct if you have to much color.

Start with a vertical line straight up from the inner corner of your eye, mark the line on each side.

Turn your brush a half turn to the right or left (depending on what way you hold your brush) and...

drag your brush upward to the arch...

and then downward to the edge of your brow. Don't extend too far out from your natural brow line, this can have a narrowing effect on the shape of your eyes. Remember we're accentuating and defining the natural brow.

Take the gel (yes I know it looks like mascara), and again in an upward stroking motion brush across your brows. This holds the color and the hair strands in place for the perfect shape all day! Here I concentrated on my right brow, but assume the same process on each side!

There you have it ladies, the Bosler Brows.

2. Though not limited to February, it just feels right to have fresh flowers around with spring around the corner.

3. One of my dear friends is pregnant, and I have the honor of being a part of throwing her baby shower. Pink crafts are my world right now. And I love it.

4. Moving from the darker colored polish to the bolds!

5. Been loving using straight vitamin E under my eyes and on cuts/scars. Why use other products when you can go straight to the source and give your skin the vitamins it wants, I say.

6. Of course, the endless knitting I get so easily distracted by.
