How to find your permanent URL

We just had a good question from a customer, and we are going to answer it for everyone. ”How do I find the permanent URL for my newsletter.”

I’ll give you the quick way first. Login. Go to your newsletters. Mouseover the title of a newsletter (you’ll see the URL appear at the bottom of your browser when you do this). You can right-click on the title and “copy link address” and then go wherever you want to past it (such as in a new browser window) and “paste” or “cntrl + v” on a PC, and the link address will be pasted.

If you don’t want to copy and paste the address, just click the link on the title of the newsletter and that takes you to your permanent URL. If you want, you can then copy the address from the URL address bar in your browser and use that to circulate in an email or tell people where to see your newsletter.

We updated the tool that lets you edit your text to the “latest” and as some of you have noticed, its not much better and has a few bugs of its own! We will be working on this. For now, using Mozilla (Firefox) is the best solution, and its one of our top priorities to get a better solution in place soon! This will make it easier to hyperlink text, and change color and formatting. You can do it in Firefox now, at least in the latest version as far as we can tell. Thanks for your patience.

Hi all users. We accidentally left on a module that everyone had interrupt their service. The “snapshot” that the error box refers to is going to be a really great new thing to allow all users to include the first page of their newsletter in the actual email body.

After testing, it works! But, we won’t implement it for everyone for another two weeks or so. We are turning off the warning message that bothered you this weekend. Our sincerest apologies! We thought it only impacted the admin users, but it hit everyone!

New Look for Newsletter Pages

Here’s some big news LetterPOP users. We dropped the ads. For now, we have realized that the ads are messy and don’t add much value to users or for LetterPOP. We hope to create new ways to enhance user experience and we’ll rely on revenue from subscriptions and from key sponsors, instead of Google Ads. We have also centered the newsletters, and put credits at the bottom and taken our header off from the top. It should give you a better experience and let your brand stand out more than ours.

We are doing a lot here to make things better. Spread the word and thanks for your ongoing use and support!

Add your gmail contacts!

Hi LetterPOP users. We have added a great new feature to allow you to add your gmail contacts with a few clicks of the mouse. In your account, go to your address book and there’s a new link reading: “Import Your Gmail Contacts.” Click that and use your gmail username and password to approve access and it will dump the emails into your LetterPOP account. You can create a new list or add the names to an existing list.

Facebook “Like This” Feature

We have made a new feature that we hope you will “like.” Its the “Like this” button for connecting to your Facebook account. Once a newsletter is published then you can view the newsletter and see the little “Like this” icon to the top left…click that little button and the first time it will make you login to Facebook, but after that it should work with a single click.

Also, your users can “like” your LetterPOP newsletter and help get more attention from other Facebook users. Its a great way to get viral attention to your LetterPOP newsletter. And, its free!

Facebook Photos

We have enabled users to grab their photos directly from Facebook now! In your account, to the right there is a new tab reading “Upload Facebook Images.” Click that and make the connection to Facebook and then select the album that you want to upload. At this point, it only uploads whole albums. Thus, your upload will be limited by the limits in your LetterPOP subscription.

We are working to add more photo sources, please post a response here if you want to add a favorite photo sharing site for us to begin looking at. For now we are pleased to have Flickr and Facebook photo connections.

Editing Text

If you want to edit your text, change color of the font, hyperlink it, etc., then you should avoid Chrome and Safari browsers. Unfortunately, the editing tool that we use is optimized for Firefox and works fine in Internet Explorer, but until TinyMCE fixes their tool for these browsers, we’ll have a few limitations.
