The rumors are all true. Lettersketch is making an appearance on Fab this weekend! Our sketchbooks will never be cheaper than during this super short sale, so make sure you pick one up if you've been thinking about it! If a picture tells a thousand words, a sketch tells a million.

The art of sketching is the art of visual thinking: the mind, eye and hand all working together to capture something which the artist finds deep interest in, wants to learn more about, or simply express. Sketching is the moment which an idea leaves the mind and enters the material world. When we look at the sketchbooks of great artists and designers, we can learn so much about them and their visions. We can imagine what they were thinking at that moment in time. We can feel the excitement of discovery, the wonder of exploration. When we look at one's series of process sketches, we can really begin to understand one's creative journey.

Sketching is the way the artist becomes their own teacher, learning about all sorts of things through the art of seeing and envisioning. In music school, young musicians have to take a class called "ear training".  For artists, architects and designers, sketching is the way they practice "eye training".

Sketching for artists, architects and designers, is very similar to when a professional musician, actor or dancer takes the stage. They practice and practice and when it's show time, all the hard work pays off and they soar. Sketching is a performance. The more we practice, the more we soar.

Welcome to our little shop! We are so, so happy you made it! This has been a project three months in the making, and a dream 3 years in the making. And it's here!
