Probably one of the funniest April fool of 2011, Blizzard posted a video of Starcraft played on the Kinect. What is funny about the story around this April fool, is that people didn’t realize that it was fake because of the absurdity of the video but rather because le Korean guy lost at the end . Everybody know that Starcraft could be one of the national sport in Korea! hehe

In the upcoming months, many big titles will be released. If you only had one choice, which game would you pick?

As I am a big fan of Rockstar games, including GTA series and Red Dead Redemption, I just can’t wait for Rockstar’s next title: L.A NOIRE

Not only Rockstar brings back the open world gameplay, but the serious storyline and the environment looks pretty bad ass. If you liked Heavy Rain on PS3, no doubt you will enjoy L.A Noire.

For those who always dreamed of being a criminal detective, here is your chance to prove yourself!

L.A Noire will be available on Xbox360 and Playstation 3 and the expected release date is May 17th 2011.

Angry Birds are taking over Facebook

As the title say, it’s the turn of Facebook to be taken over by the #1 Mobile Game Apps Angry Birds. According to Mikael Hed (Rovio’s CEO) “there will be completely new aspects to it that just haven’t been experienced in any other platform,” and “the pigs will have a more prominent role.”. So the game itself won’t be the same as we used to see on mobile device. I think it’s a good thing because “catapult games” have already been seen on the computer and haven’t got as much success as on smartphone. The developer brought the word “collaborative” to describe the new turn the game is gonna take on the social platform.

For now it’s still intriguing to see how the, so popular, game is gonna come out in one month and we expect a success by Rovio who has already over 1 300 000 fans on Facebook.

After watching some PS3 ads with Kevin Butler, I definitely liked those type of ads. Very humouristic and totally different from other video games ads. Kevin Butler is a marketing character used for the current “It only does everything” campaign. Played by Jerry Lambert, this VP of everything is one of the best spokesperson for any console.

Social Gaming Market in the rising

A recent study published by emarketer announced that social gaming market revenues rose by 27.7% and will reach the billion dollar business mark in 2011.

According to this study, 27% of the 62 million Internet users in the US will play at least one social network game monthly this year. This means more friends will send you requests to help them build farms or join their mafia gang.

Social network games revenue come mostly from virtual goods and in-ads sources. eMarketer forecasts that advertising spending will increase by 60% over 2010, which represents about $192 millions in this advertising medium. In regards to virtual goods, social gamers will buy more than $653 millions in virtual products in 2011.
