Hi guys,

Just thought I’d share with you a current love of mine… The brand ‘Dr. Organic.’

I started using their shampoo about 6 months ago and I haven’t looked back, or even thought about another brand! What first drew me to the shampoo was that it was sulphate free, something I’d been considering doing for quite a while. Sulphate’s are basically cheap detergents that create a lather when used in shampoo. I had been suffering on and off with very mild scalp irritation and the condition of my hair was extremely dry. I do use straighteners so of course I expect my hair to not be the healthiest; however, it had started to become fine and brittle which came as a shock as I have extremely thick hair.

It had taken me a long time to make the jump and go sulphate-free as I questioned how just one ingredient could affect the entire formula so much. However, when I started using the shampoo I immediately noticed my hair became more like its normal self, it felt soft and healthy again. I started off with the rose otto shampoo which is my favourite! The scent of the shampoo reminds me so much of my childhood when we were living in Malaysia :) I have also tried the lavender and I’ve just started using the royal jelly version. The shampoo is a little pricier than average, however I feel it’s definitely worth the money because the condition of my hair is so much better! Plus it feels great to know that my hair is being treated with organic, natural & bioactive products!

My favourite; Rose otto shampoo!

These shampoo’s work well alongside the fact that I wash my hair every 2 - 3 days so that I’m not draining my hair of the natural oils it needs to keep healthy, I also prefer to let my hair dry naturally over night - instead of using a hair dryer. I’ve also very recently started using their Moroccan Argan oil hair serum on my hair when its damp. This serum has a beautiful smell, and from first impressions I think it is well worth the money! I thought it was a middle-of-the-range price for this product in comparison to other brands, as you do get a lot in the bottle. I also found that a little goes a long way, I have medium-long hair and just half a pump is plenty! I will keep you posted after I have tried this product out for a little longer!

Naked 2 - Urban Decay

Hi guys,

I have recently started university and so have moved up to London. It’s my first time living away from family and so as you can imagine, packing was a slightly chaotic time! Reluctantly I will admit, one of the first things I started to plan was what makeup I was going to take with me, because as you will be able to tell by this blog, I am a little too obsessed with makeup!

I must advise anyone that is thinking about buying the Naked 2 palette by Urban Decay (or anyone that happens to be reading this), that you must buy this palette! Instead of taking hundreds of eye shadows with me to uni, this one palette confidently covers any shade that I could possibly want/need! There are 12 shades in the palette, ranging between shimmery glittering tones to matte, and ranging from beautiful soft champagne pigments to a deep jet black. As a whole, the palette is very earthy, however it has cooler and warmer tones so there are multiple shades to suit everybody!

My favourite combination is using either ‘bootycall’ or ‘foxy’ (or if I want a more dramatic look, ‘verve’) on the inner corner of my eye and lightly sweeped across my brow bone because they blend so seamlessly into your skin. I then love to use ‘suspect’, a neutral golden based shimmer, as a light sheen across my lid, with ‘snakebite’ adding a smokier rusted gold depth to the outer V of my socket.

There are a few shades in here that work well as a liner too. First and most obviously ‘blackout’ is so perfect for this because it can create a light charcoal edge, or if you build it up a bit more it can create a much deeper, more intense line. ‘Pistol’ works really well for me as I have cool colouring and dark blue eyes, so the gunmetal green pigment to this contrasts my colouring nicely! ‘Busted’ is a beautiful deep aubergine colour, which works well especially for people with green or brown eyes.

'Tease’ is a beautiful way of creating a very subtle depth to your socket, as it is a very light dusky matte shade with delicate cool mauve undertones. The more glittery shades like ‘YDK’, ‘chopper’ and ‘half baked’ are great for applying to the lid as they pick up the light so well! I will say though that they are highly pigmented, so a little goes a long way – which I tell myself makes up for the price of the palette ;)

I have loved using this palette and I highly recommend it to anyone, whether you love eye shadow, or whether you’re just starting out and don’t know where to start! Furthermore the palette comes with a brilliant brush that has a softer side for blending, and a synthetic flat precision brush which works well for applying thicker layers and even lining your eye. I must also mention that the mirror inside the case is great as it stands alone, if you find that easier. There really is something for everyone in this palette, and from a more holistic perspective, every shade works well together, no matter what combination you use… What’s not to love?
