Lexus RX 350 Photos

The idea was to get some nice scenic background shots with a new Lexus, so plans were set in motion.

The Lexus RX 350 and camera crew set out to the desert one Friday afternoon, in search of a spot that looked appropriate for some photography to commence.

The white clouds sitting suspended in blue skies gave a new meaning to the Pursuit of Perfection, and if ever there were perfect weather this would have to be it.

Planning the Lexus RX 350 Photoshoot

There wasn’t much to this mission, just snap some nice photos for the blog and get back to the dealership before other work began to pile up.  It turned out to be a great success because these photos can be used in many ways from the blog to the newsletter and maybe even the remote chance that people may want one as a wallpaper on their desktop.

Usually the manufacturer is handling this aspect of marketing, but we wanted something unique and original that was able to represent Reno, Nevada and the community aspects of how we do business.  

Whether it’s some pictures out in the desert or another shoot with the tall trees surrounding Lake Tahoe, we’ll be sure to have more to come if you like where this is going.

These days dealers have to work as hard as ever to win over potential buyers. Recently, a group of mystery buyers were dispatched to test dealership experiences and among them was Lexus. Today, on the Lexus Blog we will cover the results of this study.

A lot can be learned when doing these dealership surveys, they generally give a fairly accurate representation of actual experiences. These surveys uncover a number of things from how dealers are treating customers to whether they had enough useful information to provide the shoppers.

Dealership Brochures – Are Dealers Running Low On Brochures And Losing The Sale?

One fairly consistent problem was the lack of brochures and other media material that shoppers could take with them and study at home. This information will be helpful in determining which car suits the customer best and will also serve as a reminder to check back in with the dealer soon.

Mystery Shopper | Overall Reviews Were Tallied

Data was collected by 3,658 mystery shoppers, which included questions such as, who’s going to be the primary driver of this vehicle, and whether or not they offered the customer the opportunity to test drive the vehicle. The study provided some good insight into ways dealerships can enhance the experience, but one might suggest a comparative study with the same questions and just a slight twist.

Referrals | And Impact On Sales

The twist would be that these shoppers were actually friends or acquaintances of somebody that had purchased from this dealership and had been referred. The hypothesis being: dealerships would see tremendous gains in sales if they were to receive a referral from a previous customer.

This act alone would add a completely different level of trust and confidence both from the buyer side and from the seller side because frankly who wants to spend time trying to sell some a car to someone that can not afford it. Equally, who wants to spend their hard-earned money with someone who doesn’t think they have it or is uncomfortable and getting past that little debacle.

Found a nice shot of a Lexus LFA – not crazy about yellow but for some reason this picture just looks like pure adrenaline.

I think it could be the green in the background, and the obscure and random location, but that car is just begging to be driven.

Lexus Drivetrain Specs

The 2011 Lexus RX 350 comes in either all-wheel-drive (AWD) or front-wheel drive (FWD). Each delivers a level of driving quality and perfection that many expect of such a vehicle. Whether it’s summer driving or winter excursions to the slopes, the Lexus RX 350 delivers a fairly consistent and relaxing experience.

Transmission

Six-speed automatic Electronically Controlled Transmission (ECT). Lexus technology exists to give the driver the sensation that everything is smooth, intuitive and silent. There would never be any reason to think otherwise because the sounds and mechanics of the drivetrain are not on your radar, and they shouldn’t be.

Variable Torque Split

Variable Torque Split will apply more torque at times of need, as opposed to having a standard AWD ratio of front to rear wheels. If you have a 60/40 split meaning 60 percent is sent to the front wheels, then with the VTC you may see the ratios adjust under different driving conditions.

This is one sinister looking ride! I really love how the video starts off very quiet and calm, and…. well, you’ll find out.

Lexus 470 Steering Shaft Recall PDF - Click To Download

Lexus is recalling certain 2003 through 2007 Lexus LX 470 models for safety related to a steering shaft issue.

Steering Shaft Recall

The construction of the steering shaft is such that the snap ring on the shaft may disengage when the vehicle experiences an unusually severe impact to the front wheels (for example, striking a deep pothole in the roadway). If the snap ring becomes disengaged and the steering wheel is then repeatedly turned to the full locked position, over time the steering shaft may become disconnected which could result in a loss of steering control.

Lexus dealers will be requested to install a newly designed snap ring and an additional component which will prevent separation of the steering shaft at no charge to the vehicle owner, when parts are made available.

Owner Notification Mailing Dates

The owner notification will commence when parts become available in mid-August, 2010.

Only owners of the affected vehicles will be notified.

There are approximately 39,000 vehicles involved.

On July 29, 2010, Lexus filed a Defect Information Report (DIR) with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) informing the agency of our intent to conduct a voluntary Safety Recall on certain 2003 through 2007 model year Lexus LX 470 vehicles.

Q1: Why is Lexus conducting a Safety Recall?

Brake Override Feature For All 2011 Lexus Models

Lexus has announced that the 2011 Lexus gas models will all get the brake override system.  This will activate when the driver depresses on both the gas and brake pedals at the same time under certain conditions, reducing the engine speed.

This modification will become available on 2011 models that will be arriving at dealerships late summer and early fall.  This is in addition to the other changes that were announced recently about the Lexus IS model changes for 2011.  There are quite a few changes so if you’re in the market you may want to come down and learn about all of them, from color changes to some interior feature changes, to 2011 Lexus Model and option package enhancements.
