On October 1st, 1968, "Night of the Living Dead" premiered in the steel town of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Produced for a mere $114,000, the film went on to gross more than, $250,000,000 worldwide. It has been translated into 25 different languages and has been playing on the big screen consistently since 1968. Even four decades after it's release, the movie is still revered as a cult classic, and holds a 96% "Certified Fresh" rating on the popular Internet film review site ROTTEN TOMATOES. Needless to say, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD is undoubtedly the most popular and successful horror film of all time.

Now, 45 years later, Nictophobia Films is bringing this cinematic masterpiece to the stage in early 2013 like you have never seen before. Just like the film, the stage production will be presented entirely in black and white, from the set design right to the actors. The performance will be audience interactive as live zombies walk through the aisles, making their way to the to the stage keeping spectators on the edge of their seats. Measures have been taken to maintain a PG rating so that a younger audience can also experience this fun and amazing production.

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD LIVE will captivate audiences as they experience this classic told in the intimate setting of a live theater. This will bring the viewer closer to the story than ever before, as they are literally sitting in the house with the characters as they fight and kill their way through the marauding ghouls. At the end of the show everyone in the room will know what it feels like to experience a night with the living dead!

Lianne Mac (who also goes by the pseudo name of Lianne Spiderbaby) is a writer whose published film, music, and lifestyle pieces have ranged from the feminist aspects of exploitation filmmaking (Grindhouse Girls: Cinema's Hardest Working Women) to the memorial of her childhood horse farm (Horse Sport Magazine) to exclusive interviews with film director Quentin Tarantino (Fangoria).

She has written prominently for a variety of genre film magazines such as Fangoria, Famous Monsters of Filmland and Video Watchdog. She has also written for Cineplex Canada, Vice, and Horse Sport magazines. Lianne's professional journalistic force has led to high profile set visits and interviews.

In late 2013, Lianne's first book, Grindhouse Girls: Cinema's Hardest Working Women, will be available from St. Martin's Press. Grindhouse Girls: Cinema's Hardest Working Women is an in-depth look at the infamous exploitation actresses of the 1970s and 80s and how their groundbreaking films reflected the societal changes occuring around them and influenced a generation of filmmaking, Grindhouse Girls profiles, celebrates, and tells the story of these fascinating women who took great risks to get ahead in their career, who stripped naked for the cameras, had their hair matted with stage blood, who took chances on directors that didn't have much money or means to create their outrageous visions. Women like Tura Satana, Pam Grier, and Sybil Danning maintain an aura of strength, fearless in the face of men and crime. There is no better time to acknowledge the actresses that gave us everything that most Hollywood actresses could not: sex, drugs, violence, shock, rock, and rebellion. The book is complete and will be out later this year.

Aside from writing, Lianne is also the director, producer and host of the popular genre web show, Fright Bytes and she makes her first onscreen appearance in the upcoming Coffin Baby (2013), directed by Dean Jones (makeup and effects specialist who worked under David Lynch).

Lianne holds an honors degree with distinction in Cinema Studies (specializing in film history and the representation of women in film) from the University of Toronto and she always preaches brains before beauty.

Lianne is currently working on her next book, Hipsteria: A Film History of Hipster Culture and is constantly working on her next interview and articles series. She is based in Los Angeles, California but frequents Toronto (the city she will always call home) on a regular.
