Articles published in open access journals like Immunology and Immunogenetics Insights have been shown to receive more citations than articles published in restricted access journals.

Libertas’ goal is to maximize visibility for all articles published in Immunology and Immunogenetics Insights. A recent review of previous research on open access citation levels showed that 87% of previous studies found open access articles were more often cited than restricted access articles.

The citation difference in favor of open access was notably pronounced in certain disciplines, with medicine having a 300-450% difference and agricultural sciences having a 200-600% difference.

This study demonstrates that publishing in open access journals means papers are more visible and more likely to be read and cited.

Articles published in open access journals like Integrative Medicine Insights have been shown to receive more citations than articles published in restricted access journals.

A recent review of the studies on open access citation advantage found that 87% of previous research showed open access articles to be more often cited than restricted access articles. An article’s citation level gives a good indication of its visibility and impact, and in some subject areas open access papers received 600% more citations than restricted access papers.

The mean difference in citations was 176.75% in favour of open access, meaning papers published in open access journal almost always get a considerable citation advantage over those published in restricted access journals.

During December, Pubmed Central statistics showed that Libertas Academica has 1,214 papers available for anyone to download for free. These papers received 25,380 views, including 6,939 downloads. The most popular paper was viewed 534 times during the month. Including abstracts, figures, tables, supplementary data, and cited-in lists, Libertas material on the Pubmed Central website was viewed 64,764 times.

Libertas encourages readers to register to join the Biomedical Engineering and Computational Biology peer review group. Being a volunteer peer reviewer is a great way to support Biomedical Engineering and Computational Biology and assist your colleagues who have submitted manuscripts to the journal.

The peer review process has been designed to make this vital task as quick and well-organized as possible so reviewers’ time is used efficiently. This means that reviewers can focus on assessing papers rather than navigating obstructive web interfaces.

We survey our peer reviewers to maintain an understanding of their perspective on the peer review process. The feedback from peer reviewers has been overwhelmingly positive:
