Should the Tea Party Embrace Nullification?

There is quite a bit of talk about nullification in the Tea Party. Nullification has not been accepted as a general principle by the Tea Party movement. Yet it is certainly an idea that is debated quite frequently.

What are your thoughts on nullification?

Biased Headline for L and P Press Conference

The following is a letter from Dan Klein in response to The Press of Atlantic City “Political group spins wind energy as waste of public funds, failure in the making“
which was that newspaper’s report of our press conference that was held in conjunction with Americans for Prosperity – NJ to protest New Jersey’s existing version of Cap and Trade: RGGI (Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative).

I read a story in my Cape May County “Region” section of the Press about a protest rally against the secretive utility tax, RGGI. To be frank I was outraged by the headline, ” Group spins wind energy as waste of public funds.” My beef is with the use of the term “Spins” in the headline. I realize it’s a snappy headline using the word ‘spin’ with the double entendre meaning of playing off the spinning windmills, but it also suggests there are “TWO” reasonable sides to the story, and the rally representing just one side of the truth, or maybe that even what the protestors’ are decrying lacks validity?

This is a perfect example of the subtlety used by the main stream media to sway opinion one way or the other with the masses. And, while it is shameful for the local, regional and National Press’ to engage in behavior which flies in the face of their unspoken creed of being unbiased arbiters of the truth. Remember the “Fourth Estate.” This lack of candidness and truth by the media, who continue to lose audience share and readers faster than Citizens Bank Park in the ninth inning with the Phillies ahead 15 – 0 and two outs, two strikes on the opposing team.

People have woken up to the charade and that’s why the numbers are declining so quickly. My question though is why would the media back that which goes against their own self-interest in terms of operating costs and profit, when doing so will only hasten their demise?
All the Press had to do was print the facts as they are known regarding RGGI. They chose to leave a cloud of doubt hanging over the issue rather than clear it up once and for all. How outraged would the citizenry be if the headline read, “State delivers secret utility tax on citizens.”
Until the Press starts fighting and standing for Freedom and Liberty again, the clouds hovering over important issues will continue, and they will continue to lose market share and revenue.

I wanted to post this comment to the online version of the story, but there was no story to be found. Perhaps one of you good folks can point me in the right direction as to where it may be.

First Amendment Threatened in the Gulf Oil Spill

The Freedom of the Press is one of the freedoms guaranteed by our Bill of Rights.

FIRST AMENDMENT:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

News reports indicate that journalists are having their access to the Gulf Oil Spill limited by new government regulations.

Mike Adams, the Health Ranger reports, “First Amendment suspended in the Gulf of Mexico as spill cover-up goes Orwellian:”

(NaturalNews) As CNN is now reporting, the U.S. government has issued a new rule that would make it a felony crime for any journalist, reporter, blogger or photographer to approach any oil cleanup operation, equipment or vessel in the Gulf of Mexico. Anyone caught is subject to arrest, a $40,000 fine and prosecution for a federal felony crime.

The rule, of course, is designed to restrict the media’s access to cleanup operations in order to keep images of oil-covered seabirds off the nation’s televisions. With this, the Gulf Coast cleanup operation has now entered a weird Orwellian reality where the news is shaped, censored and controlled by the government in order to prevent the public from learning the truth about what’s really happening in the Gulf.

The only thing transparent here is that President Barack Obama has violated his own oath of office by refusing to defend the Constitution. By any honest measure, in fact, these actions, which are endorsed by the White House, stand in direct violation of the U.S. Constitution. And that means this new censorship rule in the Gulf, which suspends the First Amendment, is unconstitutional. It also means those who decided on this rule are enemies of freedom.

They are the ones who should be arrested and hauled off to federal prison, not the CNN reporters who are trying to cover this story.

The seeds of tyranny

The loss of life in the Gulf of Mexico isn’t the only catastrophe taking place here, you see: Now we’re losing our freedoms while our government tries to intentionally blind us all from the truth of what’s happening on our own public beaches.

When those who seek truth are branded criminals by the government, it is only a matter of time before that government expands its criminalization labeling to include anyone who disagrees with it. These are the seeds of tyranny, and Obama is planting them at your doorstep right now.

What BP did to the Gulf Coast, Obama is now doing to your freedom.

Upon the completion of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Samuel Adams, known as the “Father of the American Revolution” said,

“We have this day restored to Sovereign to Whom all men ought to be obedient. He reigns in Heaven and from the rising to the setting of the sun, let His Kingdom come.”

To John Adams, it was to be remembered as a “Day of Deliverance” from the control and oppression of tyrants, and it should be marked by acts of devotion to the God who delivers!

Freedom of the Press is Threatened

Dick Morris writes in Obama Administration Wants Govt Control of Media that:

Jon Leibowitz, the chairman of Obama’s Federal Trade Commission [FTC], is at the epicenter of a quiet movement to subsidize news organizations, a first step toward government control of the media.

The story goes on to describe in detail the efforts of the FTC to compromise the autonomy of a free press, which is protected by the First Amendment.

Dick Morris concludes by saying,

The Leibowitz study, and the subsidy proposals that are likely to emerge from it, represent a chilling threat to the First Amendment and to our civil liberties.
