CLC's mission is to serve as a statewide membership collaborative serving all types of Connecticut libraries by initiating and facilitating cost-effective services to strengthen their ability to serve their users. Responsibilities: Establishing and coordinating organizational goals, program directions, and services; developing and cultivating partnerships with other statewide non-library groups; monitoring actions of the state legislature that may impact upon CLC and serving as its advocate; engaging in budget planning and oversight; hiring and managing all staff and supervising all operations; coordinating membership communications; and marketing CLC to its constituencies. 

Required qualifications: ALA-accredited graduate degree and five years library administrative experience. Preferred qualifications: Experience in program and fiscal management and in working collaboratively with libraries and governmental boards; fundraising and grant writing expertise; skills in human resource management, leadership, communication, and analyzing data; ability to multitask and set priorities; customer service orientation; understanding of the role of technology in the library environment; and a willingness to travel, particularly within Connecticut. Salary: $55,000 to $65,000 with excellent benefits. The librarian will be responsible for working with subject experts in the areas of early intervention, child development, and early care and education on collection development; managing technical services, including working with Lincoln Trail Libraries System to maintain the EI Clearinghouse online catalog; managing public services and circulation; helping prepare materials for the Web site; and making the EI Clearinghouse a welcoming space for families and professionals involved in early intervention. &#xD;

&lt;br&gt;Required: MS in Library and Information Science or MLS from an accredited institution, strong writing and communication skills, strong interest in and commitment to providing information to parents of young children with special needs and early intervention professionals, and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. The College serves approximately 3,200&lt;br&gt;credit students each semester and is dedicated to the mission of&lt;br&gt;enhancing quality of life through learning.  Though KCC is located in a&lt;br&gt;growing tri-city metropolitan area, the college serves a largely rural&lt;br&gt;district.  The college boasts a 177-acre beautifully landscaped,&lt;br&gt;tree-filled campus with more than 50 acres of buildings, parking, roads&lt;br&gt;and athletic fields as well as 125 acres of open area and farmland.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

&lt;p&gt;Duties include providing reference services; bibliographic instruction&lt;br&gt;and orientations; Interlibrary Loan; material selection; and&lt;br&gt;collaboration with faculty for collection development; as well as,&lt;br&gt;assisting with cataloging and circulation services; LRC displays;&lt;br&gt;developing and staffing reference desk schedule including training,&lt;br&gt;writing grants, and maintaining appropriate records and reports.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS) from an ALA-accredited&lt;br&gt;program or pursuing MLS and nearing completion required.  At least three&lt;br&gt;to five years of related work experience required; academic library&lt;br&gt;experience preferred.  Collection development experience in a variety of&lt;br&gt;subjects desirable. The successful candidate will be creative and energetic, excel at building partnerships, articulating and promoting the library’s mission, and empowering staff.  We require a director who can positively communicate and engage the community, area agencies, trustees and staff. &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;Located 12 miles south of the Quad Cities, the Sherrard Public Library District serves a population of 7,288 in a district of 88 square miles.  Sherrard offers the best of both worlds: a vibrant urban setting nearby with culture, shopping and city advantages as well as a beautiful rural landscape, new home of the Fyre Lake National with a Nicklaus Design golf course. The library, located in the village of Sherrard,  has a collection of over 18,000 items, and an annual circulation of 22,000. The staff consists of 5 employees and the library’s annual revenues exceed $260,000. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Minimum Qualifications: MLS from an ALA-accredited library education program or evidence that the candidate is working toward that degree. Professional public library experience with demonstrated management ability in administration, budgeting, planning, fundraising, and supervision is required. Budget and maintain financial solvency, with an eye towards leading a successful building referendum campaign?&lt;br&gt;If you can, then Richton Park Public Library has a great opportunity for you!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Description:  The Richton Park Public Library seeks an outgoing and creative visionary to be our next library director.  Our library district is located about 30 minutes southwest of  Chicago with a growing population of approximately 12,000.  The applicant must be able to promote the library’s mission, and mentor and empower staff.  We are looking for a strong manager, who is financially astute, with the ability to manage a growing revenue base.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

The successful candidate will have a strong philosophy of customer service, the ability to attract and maintain a talented staff, and embrace the library’s values, including innovation, trust, staff participation, and team management.
