We went to the Belgian coast together with some of their friends and family. We had a great afternoon, laughed a lot and got a lot of fun. I guess it shows off in the pictures!

Shot at night with my D80. SB-26 with shoot-through umbrella on the left, SB-26 with a full CTB-gel on the right. White balance on daylight to have neutral light from the main flash, while creating a blueish glow to put some color into the dark snow.

The flashes were optically triggered by my popup flash that was set to 1/32th so it did not influence the light while still being powerful enough to trigger my light setup.

As my girlfriend made some tapas for the new year’s party, I had another try. The only trick I found to make it look a bit more tasty is using my 50mm f1.8 to limit the DOF.

It’s been a while since I posted something. Thesis- and other work for school prevented me from opening my camerabag. The exams have started, so don’t expect too much in the coming weeks either.

This is a picture from my fish. It’s hanging around all the time while I’m sitting there studying. I think it understands as much from the “business ethics” course as I do.

I took the picture with a polarizing filter to avoid reflections from the bowl, while providing extra light from above with a CTO’ed  SB-26.
