Junie has had to have her teeth cleaned twice in the past year and a half. This is getting a little pricey-I mean how much anesthesia does it take to put a lap dog down? And just think about how hard it probably is on her little organs to process the drugs?

Therefore, we are attempting to brush her teeth a few times a week so that maybe we can stretch these cleanings out.

We never thought it would take two of us to brush our 9 lb maltipoo's teeth.

They say a dog's mouth is cleaner than a human's.

Hmmm...I'm not thinking so but her mouth sure is cleaner now!

I'm not a big fan of PBR in a can...or in a bottle but I'm a fan of making someone's wishes come true!

One of my best friend's niece's husband-Brett Sheroky- wrote this red solo cup parody....you can clearly see his love for PBR in a can.

He's celebrating a birthday today and all he wants is a million hits on You Tube.

I discovered it this weekend while getting a manicure and it's my new color obsession for the month. I am so over black and gray but still wanted a darker color for winter. It's not as dark as it looks here in my picture-it's actually navy. Click here and you'll be able to see it better.

Ummmmm.....don't know what to say about what I discovered this weekend. Quite the most unusual art I have ever seen and probably the most fascinating I've ever laid eyes on.

Scrap Daddy Circus is the name and mechanized scultptures are his game.

Each piece is motorized

They are also featured in the Houston ArtCar parade every year

Kale is my new obsession...

While in shavasana pose this morning trying to calm my mind at yoga, all I could think about was the shaved kale avocado salad from Kris Carr's Crazy Sexy Diet book. I made it yesterday for lunch and had to have it again today.

Here is what it looks like

Here is how you make it

Serves 2

1 head kale, shredded

1 cup tomato or red bell pepper, diced

1 cup avocado, chopped

2 1/2 tablespoons olive oil or flax oil

1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice

1 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 teaspoon cayenne

In mixing bowl toss all ingredients, squeezing as you mix to "wilt" the kale and cream the avocado.

Serve immediately.

Forgetful in the fact that he loses MORE stuff when he's on the road traveling. Dress shirts, cologne (which he isn't allowed to take on the road anymore,) countless socks, travel pillows, sunglasses, phone chargers to name just a few things. But who's keeping track?

We kicked off 2012 with carrot, apple and celery juice. Normally my new year resolutions revolve around health related goals...i.e. eat better, exercise more blah blah blah... While I will continue to work on those my real focus this year will be to LIVE life to the fullest. I will concentrate on the important things.... I will live in the present while making memories with my family and close friends. We're not promised tomorrow so I will enjoy each day and make the most of it. I will keep calm and carry on for whatever 2012 holds for us.

Ry Bray just finished a 6 week fishing club at school where they met every Tuesday morning at 7:15. Who would have thought my little fashionita would enjoy learning about saltwater & freshwater fish caught in Texas, fishing regulations and learning how to tie knots! Well she did and this morning she had her chance to show off her skills at the family fishing outing. In her glitter headband and leopard coat she was the first one on the board catching a catfish! So proud of my fashion forward angler catching THREE fish!

October was a rough month for us with our granny passing and with Mark's dad passing a year ago on Halloween. It will always be a bitter sweet day but nothing that a little Chivas won't fix.

We all had a blast with all of the neighbors gathering for pizza and drinks before the candy madness started! They even went on trailer rides around the neighborhood. Not too bad for our first Texas Halloween!

It's official....Jack is 8!

It's funny how the past two days I have been having low back pain. Guess it was a reminder of how I was feeling eight years ago carrying around an 9lb 12oz baby!! Still to this day I am so thankful that I was induced two weeks early!!! Whoa...can you imagine what he would have weighed on his actual due date?????

He had a great day and we enjoyed helping him celebrate! His football team won their game, had a great dinner and topped it off back home with indulging in our favorite birthday pazooki-an .Oreganos favorite dessert.

Happy Birthday Jack and 8 is going to be GREAT!!!

What a beautiful cup of coffee! I couldn't have made it without my new Jura Capresso Froth Pro electric milk frother. Now I can have latte's whenever I want without having a fancy coffee/espresso maker. I used skim milk to make a creamy delicious froth. Another added bonus is that the kids can make chocolate milk in it too....all by themselves! Check it out....it's a must have if you are a serious coffee drinker. Just like Starbucks but without the steep price!

Little did they know that when they booked their flight it was grandparents week at school! Sweet-had lunch with Jack & Ryan-of course at two different times and then hit the Book Fair with both kiddos! Pretty smart idea holding the book fair the same time as grandparents week!

Had a fun and relaxing weekend and as always we were sad to see them go.

Also went to Gueros and enjoyed a little tex-mex on Congress St in Austin. Junie thought it was fabulous and loved the outdoor seating.
