Top Ten Natural Hair Items

Hello Y'all so it has been forever, but I finally have some time to waste and I thought how better to use it than to inform my follow blog readers. So you want to know what you need to survive having natural hair??? Here are your top ten must-have items:

1) Must Have a Detangler Comb- Doesn't have to be expensive in fact mine was 3$ from Shopper's Drug Mart and it works like a dream.

2) Shea Butter Hair Lotion which you can even make yourself if you check my previous blogs!

3) Terressentials organic- Pure Earth Hair Wash- It is literally like giving your hair a mask. It doesn't lather like regular shampoo, so you would take a tablespoon of it, soak it and spread it through the strands of hair. Let it sit in your hair and then comb out your hair with the detangler comb and rinse it all off! Your hair will be so soft and detangled and you can order different scents. The scent I use is Lavender Garden!

4) Flax Seed Gel- If you check my previous blogs you will find how you can make it yourself. It is great because it is inexpensive, effective, and instead of leaving your hair dry and crusty like regular gel, it leaves it soft!

5) Hair Accessories!! My favourite stores to buy my hair accessories are H & M, Forever 21, and Frakas. Hair Clips look so adorable on natural hair and every natural sister should have a collection.

6) Regular Trimmings- Every three months! Now I know most black girls are afraid to even slightly cut their hair, but you'll find that over time you are using more effort to comb through your hair which results in hair loss and more stress on your scalp.

7) Curl Formers- It is a nice heat free way to curl your natural hair once it is long enough!

8) Blow-Dry Comb- It is lots of fun if you want to stretch your fro out for different look.

9) Ionic Straightener- If you do want to use heat to straighten your hair, use an ionic straightener because it is less likely to cut your hair than ceramic straightener is and the less fried your hair is the better.

10) Either a silk head band or a silk pillow case- That way you won't dry your natural hair over night from tossing and turning and if you have a cotton pillow case it will dry your hair out!

How to make Almond Cream!!

Hey Everyone so the procedure to making Almond Hair Cream is very similar to making Almond Butter, except this isn't the kind you eat ladies and gentleman, this is for your hair!
Why Almond oil? Well studies have proven Almond Oil prevents premature greying of hair, dandruff and hair falling out. This almond hair cream can be blended, until it is a pretty souffle and this is how to do it!

First take a bunch of Almonds, you can buy them at any convenience store and soak them in a bowl for 24hrs.

After that drain the almonds, if you have a dehydrater use it, and put it in for another day. If not use your oven, heat it at 350 degrees Fahrenheit check to make sure the almonds are dry, but not roasted.
Now place it inside a food processor, and pour in some castor oil, almond oil, jojoba oil, and half a cup of water. You can use a blender too, if it is strong.
Now mix until it became a light fluffy souffle, and there you have it your very own Almond cream.

How to make Flax Seed Gel!!!

Alright Guys! Here it is the infamous Flax Seed Gel. Why is it infamous you ask? It works just as well as the gel you buy in store but it's cheaper!! Here's how to do it.

First get some flax seed and your essentials oils ( Rosemary, Ylang Ylang etc.)

Now for Canadians: Buy it at your local Bulk Burn, like a whole bag for 3$! Americans any of your convenience stores, it still should be pretty cheap!

Now use literally half a small cup of flax seeds like so:

and put it in the a pot or pan.

Fill it with enough water that it is just little bit above the flax seeds, then start to boil the water.

Mix it up while boiling to make sure the flax seeds at the bottom don't burn and you can heat the water on high whatever kind of stove you use.

Keep mixing until you see a white film on the top.

Once it does that and becomes super stringy as you mix it, then you are ready to get your gel.

Now here's where the panty hose comes in. Wait a second did you say pantyhose? Yes I did! Any old pair of panty hose or tight will be perfect for this.

Ok, now find a plastic container like so:

And stick the foot of the panty hose inside, as use the top part of the panty hose to line the container.

Slow pour your new gel in, as the panty hose will be acting as a strainer.

Now comes the difficult part! Use some tongs, preferably plastics to squeeze the remaining gel of the flax seeds like so:

Into the plastic container, but pretend my fingers are tongs, because it will be BURNING HOT!!

So use these:

and once you are done just put a couple drops of essential oils you know the drill!

and TADA!

Your very own flax seed gel!! Afterwards you can put it in the fridge to harden a little bit and use whenever you want to style you hair!!

How to Make your own Shea butter Cream

1. Shea Butter Hair Cream:
So first things first you will need to purchase some raw shea butter, probably 8oz will be enough to fill a small container. KEEP THIS AT ROOM TEMPERATURE.

Put it inside a large bowl that will enable you to place all the contents.

Good!

Now your are ready for step 2.

Place a teaspoon of Castor Oil, Jojoba Oil, Coconut Oil and don't forget your hair's best friend Olive Oil!
Feel free to add vitamin E or any essential you feel are necessary!

Now get your hand mixer and mix until it is all nice and soft.

Want to make that into a hot oil treatment? Do the same thing just use 1/3 of that amount of Shea Butter and compensation with Coconut Oil then heat it up, place it on your hair, and wear a hair cap for about half an hour. Then wash it out just as you would with any regular shampoo!!

4. It could be a fun family activity with your daughter's growing up. Many women are making their own organic hair creams which are affordable and often last longer than those store bought, and you are getting more nutrients in your hair for your buck. 5. The many cool things one can do with natural hair including but not limited to; dreads, twists, corn rows, ghana weave, microbraids, twist outs, bantu knot, pick and drop and so much. We can have to many fun versatile looks and change our mind all the time.
6. The chemicals in relaxers are rank, and with the growing cancer rate, it takes the term beauty is pain a little to far.
7. We know so little about our own hair. Most people are shocked by the results I have achieved with my hair which is probably the thickest, kinkiest hair you ever see, but know it is more than manageable is pretty perfect curls all the time. We have so many assumptions about our own hair we are scared to even try or don't where to look we must research.
8. Our hair is the most fragile, dry and breakable hair there is on the planet. No wonder our hair break with the strong chemicals of relaxers.
