I am a mom blogger and I desire to attend this conference for many reasons. One of which is the opportunity to network with and learn from other like-minded bloggers. I believe in taking steps of faith when there is value in doing something. I believe there is value in attending this conference. Therefore, today I began searching for a sponsor or sponsors for the conference. I have obtained my first sponsor. Though she was not able to contribute the full amount needed for the conference, I feel like this is a positive step in the right direction. Tonight I will be securing my Super Early Bird Registration so that I can save both myself and my sponsor’s $$ and will continue to search for sponsors.

To make it easier on everyone I thought I”d blog about possible sponsorship options. My goal is to raise $700 for the trip. The following are the sponsorship options:

Greg and I have planned a mini family vacation to Chattanooga, July 23-26 which I am super excited about, besides that Brady will be turning one on July 15 and we’re having him a family birthday party on July 17.  Between now and then we’ve got to get the house ready, with a few home improvement projects, including painting the washroom, painting the hall and Baker and Lily’s bathroom.

Next, we hope to get some quotes for a bigger home improvement project, closing in the garage and adding an office on to the house.  We hope to do this but we’re not sure if we can afford it or not.  Say a prayer that we can, we’ve checked with the bank and know how much money we can get but the issue will be whether or not we can have done what we’d like to for that amount.

Looking forward to a month of family time and family projects.

Now Alyssa, tell me about your husband’s cell phone use? Did he ever get another Blackberry like you did or has he stuck with his Nokia Flip Phone? How important is your cell phone to communication with him?

I am pretty glad I took a few days to answer this question, because now my answer is more meaningful than it would have been a few days prior. Starting on Thursday my husband began helping with the search for an escaped convict. He is a probation / parole officer which is a state position and is often out “Searching” for parolees, but this time he was involved in a manhunt for an escaped prisoner. He ended up searching for him for over 24 hrs with little to no sleep.

Meanwhile, I am home with 3 children. Having him have a cell phone, even though it was his Nokia flip phone, was a luxury. He was able to text me and let me know he was ok and keep me up to date on his status. I am thankful for our cell phones and the ability it gives us to communicate. Most of the time we text rather than call, but we do call each other at least once a day on the phones.

Now, it’s my turn to ask Amy a question.

Amy, I know you have older children. Do they all have cell phones? How do they play into your communication with your children.

Faith Inspires Live TV show will air tomorrow, June 25th, 2009 at 9 pm CST / 10 pm EST on MomTV.

Not only do they have the interactive community they call “The Precious Girls Club” but they also have a “Precious Moms “ and a line of products to go along with them.  These include figurines, charm bracelets, and books.  I was sent one of the books called Operation Kindness, which teaches young girls the Biblical concept of kindness.  It is one of the books in a series.  They also stuffed dog too.  Both are perfect products for young girls and best of all are the concepts that they teach.

Alyssa-A little birdie named Kelly McCausey told me you just got a new BlackBerry! Please tell me what is your favorite feature of your new phone? How does it help you to stay connected to all the areas of your busy life?

Yes, Amy I just got a Blackberry. And actually this is my 2nd time to own one. A while back, last summer to be exact, my husband and I ordered refurbished larger Blackberries online. I”m not sure what model they were but they were older and super bulky. Needless to say we weren’t satisfied and we sold them and went back to our Nokia Flip phones. However, I still was itching to have a “smart phone” to help me keep up with my business, ministry and everything else I have going on in my crazy busy life.

Finally I got up the nerve to buy a refurbished Blackberry Curve on Ebay, since I wasn’t eligible for upgrade through AT & T. I got my Blackberry Curve about 2 weeks ago and I absolutely love it. I love the qwerty (not sure if that’s the proper name) keyboard and it’s ease of use in typing. I also love being able to check my email from anywhere. I get quite a few emails and when I’m away from my computer I can easily get overwhelmed when I come back to 100 emails or more.  I no longer have to worry about this now that my Blackberry keeps me connected 24/7.
