2018 is coming to and end and I’m glad it is. This has been one of the hardest years of my life.  In January my mum passed away after a year and a half battle with ovarian Cancer. She was an example of a warrior. She never ever gave up. Not even after all of the discouraging tests results. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren more than anything and wanted to spend as much time as possible with all of us. She never lost her smile even when her insides really hurt. She put us all first like she did all her life. On the 4^th of January 2018 she passed away and I’ve been painfully missing her since then. She would have been 60 this past 25^th of November and I still get angry at thinking that she was taken from us way, way too soon.

Just before my mum passing, my mother-in-law was finally diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. We witnessed this illness slowly taking away her speech, eating abilities, mobility, etc from her until the beginning of November, when she gave my father in law one last hug and joined my mum up in the sky.

This year I have learned about the deepest and biggest sadness I have ever experienced. I have struggled with my generalised anxiety big time but I have also learned one of life’s most important lessons you can ever learn: how precious our time in this life is and to try to enjoy every second fully. I feel I owe these two ladies to learn from this loss. It’s their last and biggest teaching they could have given us. And although we still have a few things to deal with and go through before 2018 is finally over;  2019 will be all about living more in the moment and savouring every second spent with the people I love the most. That’s what really matters after all.
