Will Phils Get Halladay?

I have been a Phillies fan all of my life, and as many sports fans know they have lost more games in the history of the franchise than any other major North American sports team. So, if you root for the Philadelphia nine, you have had your share of heartbreak over the years. All of that having been said, now is a good time to be a Phillies fan, and the big buzzing undercurrent these next few days before the trading deadline on August 1st is whether or not the Phils will get Roy Halladay in a trade with the Blue Jays.

The Phillies are like the pimply teen who never gets a date. We watch every year around this time as other teams get the CC Sabathias and Manny Ramirezes of the world. But this year it looks like we have a legitimate shot to get to the prom with the head cheerleader.

The asking price by Toronto is said to be Dominic Brown, Kyle Drabek, and J.A. Happ. Happ is 7-1 with the big club, and the other two are the best position player and pitcher, respectively, in the Phillies minor league system.

I would probably make this trade if it was the only way to get Halladay. The Phillies have won the World Series just twice in their history. They have a comfortable lead in the N.L. East right now, and if they do get to the post season, they would have a huge shot at their third title with Halladay and Cole Hamels at the top of their rotation.

I am going to predict that the Phillies do indeed get Halladay, and I am further going to go out on a limb and say that they get him while still keeping one of those two pitchers. Here is the trade: Halladay to the Phils for Brown, Happ, Triple-A pitcher Carlos Carrasco and his teammate infielder Jason Donald.

Quality web content that is being offered at prices that you can afford can be very difficult to find. I started out learning about SEO through link building for companies that recruited bloggers to do so. I had no idea that their was anything about it that was in any way unethical when I started doing it. I was told that writing posts and linking to pages was the way that SEO was done, and I invested a lot of effort into doing that.

Suddenly, a year and half ago or so, all of my blogs were reduced to less than zero by Google, and I of course researched it all and found out that I was a bad guy all of a sudden. My income essentially came to a screeching halt, and that was bad. But I also felt sad and hurt, because to me, I had been just doing an earnest and diligent jog touting my clients and linking to their products and services, just like every magazine, radio station, and TV network does.

All this really does is make well financed enterprises more powerful and make it harder for the "little guy" to survive. Not just the blogger, but the small companies that they (we) were supporting. If you have unlimited funding, you will get unlimited links anyway.

I am just writing this because I'm revisiting this blog, and I used to care about it and I did some good work on it. Now it has been largely dormant for a long while, and I have to wonder if the 'net wasn't a little bit better when Life In Vegas had life. It wasn't much, but there was energy, sincere effort, love, hope, and humor invested into it.

Anyway...disappointment is synonymous with life, right?

Mayan calendar 2012

Mayan calendar 2012 interest will very likely grow and the date draws nearer, and since the Mayan calendar has proven to be so accurate, I have always had an intuitive sense that there was something to this date. I feel that it will indeed be the end of one cycle, but that it will be replaced by a new one. My guess is that we will realize the need to live sustainably and in harmony with the natural cycles of the earth and the cosmos beyond, and our economic base will adjust accordingly.

Green sustainable practices and renewable energy will prevail, and we will eat organic foods exclusively and wear organic clothing. I think that the people of the earth will also recognize that war and "defense" are obsolete, and that we will make all make a mutual commitment to peace. At least those of us who are evolved enough to catch that vibe, what I like to call Vibe 2012.

Whether you think that this is possible or not, I think that it is fair to say that the vision is one of a better world than the one that we are living in today. I personally look for an evolution of consciousness and a new paradigm then the Mayan calendar ends in 2012.

I like to pass along recommendations when something that I have tried has worked for me, and I am always quick to share my experience with yoga. I had a very bad lower back a few years ago, and to be honest, it was painful to stand for even fifteen minutes, and it would "go out" periodically and when that happened I could hardly walk for a week or so.

Water In The Desert

I am thinking a lot about hydration these days because we are into the hottest part of the year around these parts, and though we have great weather in the winter here in Sin City, the summer is indeed scorching. There has been news circulating recently about a harmful chemical called BPA leaching into drinks that are contained in hard plastic sports bottles, and people are now looking for alternatives to plastic water bottles.

In my estimation, the best non plastic water bottles to use are stainless steel water bottles. When you use stainless steel bottles you avoid the BPA, and they are also really light a durable so they are not a hassle to carry, and they last forever. I got myself a couple of stainless steel sports bottles in two different sizes and I am totally pleased.

When you come and visit us here in fabulous Las Vegas, we want you to eat, drink, and be merry. But remember, you are in the desert, and you need to make a concerted effort to keep yourself hydrated.

Everyone knows that fabulous Las Vegas offers its visitors of countless exciting gaming, dining, and nightlife options, and we at Life In Vegas like to try to keep people abreast of the current entertainment that is appearing in town and post some upcoming concerts as well. But there are things that one can experience for free on a simple stroll down Las Vegas Boulevard that are worth the trip, and the Water Show at the venerable Bellagio Hotel and Casino is an event in and of itself. Famous Las Vegan: Andre Agassi

Las Vegas is a great place to visit, but it is also a fine place to call home, and many celebrities who can choose to live anywhere choose to reside here in this oasis in the desert. One of the greatest athletes of our times hails from Las Vegas and his name is Andre Agassi. We all remember him as the brash, long haired wunderkind when he first burst onto the international stage, but he went on to enjoy a long and distinguished career. Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada is clearly the entertainment capital of the world, offering its visitors a fantastic palette of entertainment options to suit any and all tastes. Whether you like comedy, full production shows, magic, or good old rock and roll, Las Vegas can provide you with what you are looking for every day of the year. These days, gambling is not the only allure here in Sin City, but indeed, there is plenty of 24/7 gaming action here in town as well.

Personally, I am a big sports fan, and when it comes to sports gaming, the game of football draws the most interest by far. The beginning of football season is anxiously anticipated here in town, and a lot of people like to stay glued to NFL TV and purchase a NFL TV package like NFL Sunday Ticket. Personally I have Direct TV NFL Sunday Ticket because I love to catch all of the action, and I invite all of my friends over every Sunday and we really enjoy taking in all of the exciting drama that the NFL dishes out.

Football season is one of the great times of year here is Las Vegas and everywhere around the country, and we are fortunate in that we have the opportunity to catch all of the action with an NFL TV package. Las Vegas Entertainment: The Killers

They always used to say that Las Vegas is not a good place to try to make it as a musician. Because of the fact that there are so many casinos with world class shows in the showrooms and international touring acts passing through constantly, along with the 24/7 allure of gambling, there is not as much support for local bands here as there is in some places. One band that changed that perception is the Las Vegas based group The Killers, and I feel as though they have some very good songs that are hard not to like no matter what type of music you ordinarily enjoy. Big Brown Aims For Triple Crown

It is clearly a lot of fun to be able to attend a major sporting event, and if you are a fan of horse racing, the Triple Crown series is the creme de la creme. On the rare occasions when a horse is entering the Belmont Stakes with a shot at winning the Triple Crown the excitement is intensified, and Big Brown will be trying to do just that this coming Saturday.

It would be awesome to be in New York for the big race, but if that is not possible for you, the best place to watch the race is right here in fabulous Las Vegas. We've got the race books, the big screens, and all of the excitement that you would experience at Belmont. This Belmont figures to produce the first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed in 1978. Las Vegas Entertainment: Penn and Teller at the Rio

There is never any paucity of entertainment options in fabulous Las Vegas, and the fact of the matter is that the only problem that visitors have is a feeling of not having had enough time to see as many shows as they would have liked to while they were here.

The Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino is one of the greatest values in Las Vegas, and every night of the week (except Fridays) the inimitable genius of comic magicians Penn and Teller graces the stage there. There is nothing like a Penn and Teller show, and you can get tickets by calling 888-746-7784. The Rio and Penn and Teller are a winning combination and I highly recommend considering a suite at the Rio and a night of Penn and Teller the next time you visit us here in our oasis in the desert.
