After a short two hour flight from Cape Town we arrived in Walvis Bay. I had no idea what to expect. as we were getting ready to land all we could see was desert desert desert. At the moment the only thought surfacing my mind was 'what did we get ourself into?'.

One of the best kept secrets, 30minutes away from Cape Town. Escape for the weekend to Old Mac Daddy where you'll be surrounded by beautiful nature. You've heard of trailer trash well think the complete opposite. I've never been happier staying in a trailer. Each trailer was custom designed with a unique theme in mind. I stayed in Little Birdie and our friends stayed in Life With Colour. Each has its own charm and style pallette with its quirkiness. You're surrounded by beautiful views and apple orchards.

The sunsets were incredible. I could have taken photos every night. In fact I did. It was just too beautiful that only the eye could capture all the beautiful tones and colours in the sky.

Hoodia Lodge is where we spent 3 amazing days of relaxation and exploring nature. One of the best things about Hoodia Lodge was the pool...except when we arrived the pump was unfortunately broken and took 2 days to be fixed. But that didn't stop us from taking a dip to cool off from the desrt heat.

Sorry for being gone for sooo long. I've been traveling for three weeks and slowly getting back into the swing of things. I was in Cape Town and then roadtripping around Nambia and the Western Cape. So keep an eye out for more pics from my trip. This series of pics is from our stop over in Solitaire. I'm told that this is the famous bakery in Solitaire...famous probably because there is nothing else around but a gas station and a convenience store. Although my firend did continue to comment how amazing the Apple Strudel was. I'd like to think mine is better ;). Having said that...the place certainly has its charm. This is where we met two Americans from Seattle who were trying to hitch hike their way to Windhoek (the capital city). They have been living in Namibia for some months and were doing some traveling on their time off. God bless them. They had been waiting for 4 hours in the summer heat with no luck.

A few days in Clermont-Ferrand...

I found myself in Clermont-Ferrand for a few days for work for one of the biggest short film festivals in the world. Hard to believe but it's true. The town is mostly known for the Michelin Man but once a year people from all over the world gather to celebrate the love and the business of short films. For most of us it's also a time to catch up with friends and colleagues in the business.

My opinion of Paris and Parisiens have changed over the years and continue to do so. They can be seen as being arrogant, snobbish, rude and that exists to an extent but I've also come across some really nice, friendly and helpful people who share the beauty of the city. Especially my trip last week made me appreciate Paris a bit more than usual. I was alone and so I let myself go for a stroll and people watch. It was one of the best experiences. No pressure. No stress. Just slow and go whichever the wind blows.

Sad that this sign has to be put up at all but unfortunately this is the reality in Barcelona. You go home everyday not knowing if your flat has been broken into or not.

Alsur Café. Nice place to hang out but the service is horrible. Not that they are rude or anything but just super super slow.

My friend and I went shopping for the perfect turkey at the market.

Our perfect bird all dressed up, weiging a bit over 5KG.

Our perfect Christmas dinner with a few friends with the essential dishes.

I love bacon. I can't help it. I decided to put it in eveything.

Home made mulled wine. All it takes is a few key ingredients: orange slices, sugar, cinnamon sticks, nutmeg and of course the wine.
