Michele and John had a wonderful gathering for their wedding at the Geneva National Golf Club in Lake Geneva. Michele owns a graphic design business in Lake Geneva, so she designed and hand made all of the beautiful details herself. It’s not hard to tell she puts a lot of heart and time into her work! Congratulations Michele and John!

Phil and Megan’s Green Bay Railroad Museum Wedding

I’ve seen many outdoor weddings get lucky with the weather, but none like Megan and Phil’s wedding at the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay, Wisconsin. A storm blew in just as we were finishing up the pre-wedding photos at the Green Bay Botanical Gardens. Then it stopped just in time for the ceremony, with the worst of the weather splitting to the north and south of the ceremony site, allowing them to still have an outdoor ceremony. The sun and blue skies appeared just in time for Megan to arrive by train, and bald eagles were soaring overhead. And just as all the guests were heading indoors for the reception, the rain and thunder returned. If it had to rain that day, it couldn’t have had more perfect timing!

An appropriate backdrop for two people in the United States Army:

Megan and Phil – you two are awesome. The story of your wedding is epic, and it still makes me laugh to think about you two telling it. I appreciate everything you both do! Cheers to seven years of wedded bliss! ;)

Amanda and Joe’s Manitowoc Wedding

Joe and Amanda’s wedding in Manitowoc was incredibly touching. The novel Emma, by Jane Austin, is a story about the perils of misconstrued romance, originally published in 1815. It also happens to be Amanda’s favorite book. So when Joe gave Amanda an original printed copy of the book as a wedding gift, he not only showed how well he knows Amanda, he also set the bar very high for all future birthday and Christmas presents!

Brook and Nora’s Lake Geneva Engagement Session

All of these engagement sessions are getting me so excited for this year’s weddings! Brook and Nora met me in Lake Geneva for an unseasonably warm engagement session at the Riviera and Big Foot Beach Park. They brought along their two incredibly well-behaved (and adorable!) dogs too!

Brook and Nora – you probably already know I cannot wait for your wedding! With as much as you two make each other laugh, I already know it will be full of fun, craziness, and hopefully some wacky impressions? :)

David and Murielle’s Winter Engagement

Dayvid and Murielle were engaged on December 28th at a Denver Nuggets game, while the entire crowd watched on the jumbotron. And what better way to compliment a winter engagement than some winter engagement photos too! All photos were taken at the Ice Castles in the rocky mountain town of Silverthorne, Colorado. The session started off during the day, but we later returned for some nighttime photos in the illuminated castles as well. It may have been icy, but these photos are steamy! ;)

Liz and Joe’s Blue Harbor Sheboygan Wedding

Liz and Joe enjoyed a beautiful Japanese-theme wedding at the Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan. They raced to fold almost 1000 paper cranes for the wedding – certainly not an easy task! And the day was full of surprises for everyone: Guests had to write a Haiku to get Liz and Joe to kiss at the reception…and many of us got Rickrolled by our fortune cookies! Very funny, you two!

Liz and Joe – Get to the choppa! Thanks for all the laughs! I don’t go into many weddings having never met the bride and groom before, but it felt like I already knew you both. I hope you enjoyed the honeymoon in Japan!

A Day in Madison

Amanda and Anthony are already married (their wedding was January 2010), but we decided to hang out in Madison for a day of fun. We joked that I should call it a maternity session since Amanda happened to be pregnant at the time, but the baby was probably about the size of a little seahorse. They have since welcomed a healthy baby girl to their family!

Alex and Mary Lee’s wedding in Lac du Flambeau

A refreshing northwoods wedding is all it takes to give the wedding season a great start. Alex and Mary Lee tied the knot at Dillman’s Bay Resort in Lac du Flambeau – a retreat that is always beautiful no matter the time of year or the weather. My arrival brought tears to Mary Lee’s eyes, and when I later visited Alex, his biggest concern was, “How is she? Is she holding it together?”. They do know each other well!

So many moments made the day memorable – Mary Lee’s Skype chat with her best friend…LuLu the ring-bearing golden retriever…the amazing sunset…

Mary Lee and Alex – thank you for inviting me to capture all your special moments in pictures. My heart is full!

A Milwaukee Engagement Session for Kaitlyn and Tony

Kaitlyn and Tony had their engagement photos taken in Milwaukee, but their story started in Minnesota where they both attended college…both avid soccer fans, Kaitlyn overhead the word “soccer” coming from Tony’s open dorm room and rushed inside exclaiming, “Did I just hear someone say soccer?”. They hit it off, and it’s no surprise they will be spending the rest of their lives together.
