That alone is enough to motivate for the next ten years.

I’m in no way saying that this phone is better than an iPhone, but it has all these features that I am happy with, having lived with a primitive phone for two years previously. And I do actually use these features. So I really am happy with this phone, despite the limited availability of compatible applications.

One fine day, the hidden caveat of an all-in-one gadget revealed itself. I was using my phone to navigate via GPS to a place I have never been before, and have no other means of directions to. At the same time, I had to place a very urgent call. So I had to choose between missing an exit and getting in work-related trouble for not making that call.

The fact that my navigator and my phone is one and the same landed me into a tough spot. It doesn’t matter how I pulled through in the end, because I will still have to make these tough decisions every now and then.

But then again these situations do not arise very often. Most of the time, I only do one thing at a time with my phone. I’m just pointing out a real-life situation that can be a factor to consider when buying yourself a gadget.

Let’s see… the last movie I watched was Ponyo. Another piece of Miyazaki greatness, fullstop. Of course, Spirited Away is still best. Okay.. last game I have played was Portal. I know its 2 years old but I have been living with an old PC for awhile. Ow my brain hurts. I need some sleep.

Oh, by the way I’m on twitter now. Finally get to see what its all about, but often find myself having to think of what to twit about without sounding like a total jackass.

What, you think this is a contest?

My computer runs on a Pentium 4 processor with 1.5GB of DDR2 RAM and an ATI Radeon 7500 graphics card. The last FPS I played on it was Half Life 2 Episode 1; it can’t run Episode 2.

I have re-installed Windows XP on it for the umpteenth time; my documents are in a separate hard disk so I can do it anytime I want. I was genuinely surprised that my computer can support 1600×900 resolution on my new Acer X203H monitor.

I contemplated buying a new PC. But the only purpose it will serve is to support games that I don’t have time for. So here I am stuck with an old computer, waiting until it quietly processes its final kilobyte.

I like dance music.

BUT (notice how I spell it in caps) I don’t mean the kind you hear in mainstream radio oh no. I only like certain tracks (notice how I don’t call them songs).

I shall list a few of my favorites. I will exclude classics (e.g.: Bee Gees, Michael Jackson) and those that everyone already knows.

Well well well, its October 2009 already. I turned 22 two weeks ago and I am four months into my first full-time job.

Gosh I feel old.

And yet, wherever I go, I find myself to be the youngest (or second youngest) of the lot. Am I growing up too fast? Or am I simply starting early? Look at what other 22-year olds are doing. They’re having a time of their lives while I have to put on a shirt to work.

But who am I to complain? I know very well that people think that I am in a better position than doing nothing but enjoying life. Which got me wondering all over again: what am I doing, what do I want, and how do I get it?

I’m having a headache now. I am currently facing a (seemingly) tough decision regarding my job. I know I’ll pull through, it’s a matter of how.

By the way, if you don’t know already, I got a haircut. I am making myself look more mature by having short hair, which in the process makes me look younger. Yes, life is ironic.

The chair I have been using in my computer room has finally given way and could no longer be height adjustable. I need it to be high enough to work comfortably. Also, the uber-comfortable Ikea MALUNG chair I already have is too low and not height adjustable at all.

So on I went to Ikea to shop for a new office chair. I settled on a RM299 MOSES. As I browsed the shelves of parts, an idea hit me. Why don’t I just make the chair I already have higher?

I took home the wheeled-base of a SNILLE, as the seat itself was sold separately. Placed the MALUNG on top, applied some reinforcements and voila!

The foot was only RM20, and now I have a working working chair.
