People say the best game in the world is football, or rather "soccer" as the Americans call it. God knows why they call it that. Everyone else in the world calls it football. Why don't they just conform to the worldwide standard?

I'm not a die hard fan of football, just a casual follower of the game. Back in the day, when I was much younger, I used to follow the Premier League games every week. If you ask me which team I support, I would have to choose Arsenal.

Football has given me some interesting memories over the years. When I was in the UK doing my final year, I was watching the European Championship Final match between Manchester United against Bayern Munich. My housemate who's a true red devil desecrated my TV with some of his Manchester United merchandise. He was singing and dancing like a drunk when his team won the treble that year. Come to think of it, it was rather weird what fans would do in the name of football.

Another friend of mine did the most stupid thing that a person could do in the name of football. He had his team's emblem permanently tattooed on his arm. The worse part of this is that the team he supports is Everton. Mind you that this was not just a small tattoo. It was a huge blue one and he was showing it off to me right after he got it. In my mind, I was thinking.... "what a dickhead".

When you spend the weekend in Bangkok, a great place to visit is the weekend market called "chatuchak". For you duh people out who don't know what a weekend is, it's the days that are called Saturdays and Sundays.

You can find all sorts of nick nacks everywhere. This place is huge, like bigger than a football field. You can most likely get lost if you don't have a map of the place.

If you've just broke up with your boyfriend and need a new partner, you can get yourself a cute puppy here.

Or if cleaning up dog shit is not your cup of tea, why not get yourself a toy rodent.

Or even a rubber lizard to keep you company during those cold lonely nights.

All the walking and shopping can and will make you hungry at some point. There are lots of food stalls all around. You can visit some of the stalls and have a go at some of the local delicacies there.

Or if you are like me, just grab a a cold drink and some of roast pork and continue to walk around. This is non halal for some folks out there, but it tastes just so sinfully good.

This is also a great place to do some shopping for some decorations for your home, office or even for your toilet.

Great idea for a tissue dispenser. All public toilets should invest in one of these artistic tissue dispensers. Check out the pimples on some of the butts.

If you're in the office and you don't know where to rest your faithful pen, why not shove it into this guy's ass. It's made of some rubber plastic thingy. You can be rest assured that you won't be accused of sodomy.

If you have a bare home and you want to decorate it with some artistic pieces, why not invest in some nude bronze statues. This ain't porn. It's art.

Sick Panda

In Bangkok, I bumped into a rather sick looking Panda Bear display model trying to imitate the famous kung fu panda "Po" doing his one leg kick stance.

I must say, he failed miserably. He looked like he was feeling sick from eating too much bamboo shoots.

You should learn from the master my friend. Just look at how high he can kick his fat leg up in the air.

Well, all was not lost as I found another friendlier panda bear walking around and not pretending to be a kung fu master.

Bangkok Chicks

While hanging out in Siam Paragon in Bangkok, I managed to visit one of the exhibitions that was going on over there. It was some electronics expo called Electronica.

There were a few models walking around the mall promoting the expo. Managed to capture some shots of these hot bangkok chicks.

Bangkok Shopping Complexes

If you're the type that complains that it is too hot and you can only go to those places with air conditioning, then you're in luck. There are a number of shopping complexes around Bangkok City for you to shop till you drop.

There is a huge mall, or rather it's more like 3 shopping complexes joined next to each other. Anyway, they all share a similar prefix to their names, that is "Siam". They are called "Siam Paragon", "Siam Square" and "Siam Center".

Basically, these 3 shopping complexes cater to different crowds. For you high class people out there, I'm sure you will feel right at home at "Siam Paragon".

If that does not suit your budget, then I suggest walking across the street to "mahboonkrong" or better known as "MBK". It's something like Sungai Wang kind of standard, maybe a little bit higher and a whole lot bigger.

For normal people like me, I would prefer to spend my days here looking around for some interesting stuff.

Bangkok Traffic

Getting around Bangkok is just a breeze. You can either use a conventional taxi, a tuk tuk, motorcycle taxis, the BTS/MRT, or you could even take a boat along the waterways. It actually costs around the same price if you took a taxi or a tuk tuk. Taking a tuk tuk is great fun and exciting, but unless you want to breathe in the smoke and dust from the traffic, I suggest you do what I did; i.e. take a taxi cab.

People in Bangkok seem to always be in a rush to go somewhere. The roads are usually packed with cars, squeezing in and out of lanes. Pickup trucks and vans are usually seen packed with goods or people.

I must say that the drivers in Bangkok are extremely skillful in maneuvering their vehicles into any single gap anywhere. There are police and traffic wardens at almost every single intersection, each armed with their trusty whistle. Traffic is somewhat chaotic and yet organized.

The inner streets, though quite narrow is usually bustling with people and vehicles coming in and out. The huge 4x4 above even managed to squeeze into this small street without a problem. Take note that this is actually a 2 way street, and there are vehicles coming from the other direction as well. Bangkok drivers are truly amazing.

Bangkok Budget Hotel

While in Bangkok, I stayed in a pretty nice budget hotel called Grand Watergate. It's located in the wholesale clothing district of Pratunam. Great value for money for those shopaholics out there as it's just 2 - 3 minutes walk to the wholesale clothing area. Did I mention that they just opened a few months ago?

Being a new hotel, a lot of taxi drivers didn't know where this hotel was located. I was smart enough to print out the map from the website, so didn't have a problem there.

I arrived quite late in the evening and was surprised to see how clean the hotel was. The cafe was closed, but this being Bangkok, finding food is never a problem.

Being an Internet junkie, I was glad to know that they provided access to the net. Though it wasn't free, but it was affordable. After paying for 3 days unlimited access, they provided me with a DSL modem and I was able to surf the net from my room within a couple of minutes. For those who didn't bring their laptops with them, the hotel has 3 computers for guests to use at the cafe.

The room was very clean and new. The TV had several cable TV shows as well.

Breakfast wasn't all that great, but it was sufficient. Since it was provided free, I ate as much as I could.

Land Of Smiles

I recently went for a holiday in Bangkok, Thailand. This country is also known as the "Land Of Smiles".

Even the figurines even had a huge grin on their faces.

The green little green monster "CJ7" has also taken over Bangkok. This old aunty flashed a cute smile at me when I was taking a picture of her.

Thailand is also known for it's famous "Lady Boys". In our local language, they are known as "Mak Nyah" or "Pondan" or "Bapok" or whatever you want to call them. These ladyboys are everywhere. It seems to be quite a normal thing to have in Thailand and it is generally accepted by everyone.

I wonder if there are 3 gender columns when they fill out forms, e.g. "Male", "Female" and "Lady Boy".

This "Lady Boy" lives true to the spirit of Thailand being the "Land of Smiles".

Now Everyone Can Cut Queue

Taking a flight by Air Asia has been getting from bad to worse. I've got no complaints on the flight itself. However, the problem arises when it's time to board the plane.

About 40 minutes before departure time, you can see some people eyeing one another to see who will flinch first. The moment 1 or 2 people start to make a move to stand in front of the boarding gate, hoards of people start rushing to get a good spot in the queue. Within 5 seconds, the line will be at least 10 meters long.

I got no problem with queuing up, moreover, that's the civilized thing to do. However, since now "Everyone Can Fly", even the uncivilized have taken this opportunity to take to the skies.

These uncivilized people come in various shapes, sizes, colour, and age. Being uncivilized, they only know what to do when it comes to queuing up, that is to cut in line.

Even the hungry people in third world countries in Africa know how to queue in an orderly fashion to get food.

If the Africans can do it, why can't we Malaysians do the same? We're supposed to be a fast and upcoming developing country. We have the highest twin towers in the world. We even sent a guy to outer space. We've done many things to put Malaysia on the map of the world and yet we still can't queue up in a civilized manner to board an airplane.

Don't get me wrong. Most Malaysians are civilized, only about 15% of them still live in the stone age. One bad apple can and will spoil the whole basket full of durians.

Tony Fernandez has got to set up some kind of queuing system. On any given flight, there will be some foreigners present. Do you want them to go back to their home country and tell everyone that Malaysians and Air Asia sucks? Wake up!!!

Japanese Super GT 2008 Video

Here's a video of Amie and Tomie singing and dancing. They really have sweet voices. Just listening to them singing and dancing brings back memories when I met them in Times Square doing a roadshow. Regretted that I didn't manage to catch them in action in Sepang.

Here's wishing Amie and Tomie a safe journey to wherever they are headed off to next. Don't forget to call me when you girls come back to Malaysia yah.

Corbis Futsal & Cheerleading Competiton 2008

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to attend the 2008 Futsal and Cheerleading competition event organised by Corbis, a stock photography solutions company. I was looking forward to watching the cheerleaders in action more than the actual futsal competition itself.

Some came early to register, while some came a whole hour late, probably due to watching to Euro 2008 game the night before.

These players faces were so ugly, they decided to show off their prettier side.

Briefing, blah blah blah. I didn't hear much of what was being said cause I was on the lookout for the cheerleaders.

Did you ~~aunties~~ girls know that this is a cheerleading competition, not an office attire competition?

Ogilvy cheerleaders. From this stage onwards, I knew it was just a 2 horse race.

With a cute smile like that, who can have the heart to tell you that you didn't win?

This guy probably wanted to be a cheerleader when he was a kid.

I must say that the referees were very experienced. They knew how to handle any crap or threats by any player. There were a few arguments and a fight nearly broke out, but the ref stood his ground. You really need to have balls of steel to be a referee.

Look at the huge grin on his face. I'm pretty sure his lil brother had a huge grin too.

Hot ass cheerleaders. I should have volunteered to be the 5th cheerleader.

Checking out the competition eh? Looking at the other 2 teams, you probably should have stayed home.

This is a smart way to advertise your company. Find the hottest ass, and plaster your logo on it.

There were several injuries throughout the competition. I too nearly had to seek medical assistance for a nosebleed; probably due to watching too many hot cheerleaders in miniskirts.

The Ogilvy cheerleaders came out champions. You probably already know who came in last place.

The Championship Trophy went to Grey FC. Some of them looked like they were professional footballers. I wonder if they actually worked for the company or was illegally imported from Brazil.

Japanese Super GT 2008 Part 4

Here are close up shots of the Japanese Super GT Queens. Photos were taken outside Berjaya Times Square.

When it was announced that they would be posing for photos outside, next to the GT car, I quickly rushed out to get a good spot. I firmly stood my ground right in front of the GT car as other ~~hamsap~~ photographers tried to jostle their way for a good spot. Hahaha, first come first serve.

I was in fact just about 1 foot away from the Amie and Tomie and was probably the closest photographer to them among a sea of guys behind me. So close was I that I almost had a nosebleed when they smiled right at me.

Vrooom.... vroooommm..... roared the engine. Amie and Tomie are experienced enough to close their sensitive ears. I on the other hand acted macho and got a shock of my life when the car backfired a few times. Lesson to learn; when the queens close their ears, it is advisable to do the same.

Lucky bastard. I wanna be a GT race car driver.

More Mileage After Fuel Hike

Since the hike in fuel prices, I have been very cautious of my heavy right foot. On any other normal day, you can see me zooming past everyone on the road like an F1 driver. However, since I have to "Ubah Gaya Hidup", I decided to do my bit and try to drive slowly and sensibly to conserve fuel.

A full tank now cost me 30 something bucks more

Amazingly, I managed to squeeze out around 450km on a full tank after the fuel hike. Bear in mind that before the fuel hike, I'll only manage to get around 380km. That's an increase in 18.42%. It seems that by changing my "Gaya Hidup", I can actually clock more miles on a full tank.

The downside of this is that I had to drive like an old turtle.

So guys, if you ever see someone driving slowly on the road, don't honk. It's just me trying to "Ubah Gaya Hidup".

Happy Birthday Agong

Today, the 7th of June, is our Agong's official birthday. Take note that this is not his actual birthday. He's probably the youngest King the country has ever had.

The ceremony was filled with endless boring speeches. The most boring speech was probably by our own Prime Minister. He seemed a little under the weather, and took a cough mint every now and then. I guess he's a had a more stressful life ever since he announced the hike in fuel prices nationwide. He's probably been up all nite long reading "expressive" emails from his rakyat.

His speech was so long and dull that a few important guests were falling asleep. Actually, some looked like they were sound asleep already. The King looked bored and I guess he felt like sleeping too as he kept blinking his eyes, while listening to the monotonous sound coming from the Prime Minister. I guess life isn't always that exciting for a King.

blah blah blah.... blah blah blah...

At this point of time, I was wondering what would it be like to be a King or the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Hmm... life would indeed be good for me... Nah, I'm too handsome to be King or the Prime Minister. I guess I'm overqualified. Sigh, life indeed would be good otherwise.

Ants taking a dump?

I was away about 2 weeks ago to attend a camp at a kampung style resort in Melaka. Was given a kampung style chalet to stay in. It looked nice but was a bit old or run down, but since it was styled in the kampung way, I didn't give it much thought.

First thing I noticed was that the door creeked every time I opened or closed it. Didn't bother much about that. TV was small, but at least there was one. Hmm.... time to check out the plumbing facilities.

I noticed some ants walking around the toilet. They must be trying to get away from the heat outside. So I just let them be and went out.

I came back that night and desperately wanted to use the toilet to do some... ahem... business. Good thing I looked at the toilet bowl before I sat down.

There were thousands of ants all around the toilet. A lot of them had gathered all around the toilet bowl as if all of them had to take a dump at the same time.

That's not my ahem... p**ic hair

Being the environmentalist person that I am, I took measures into my own hand as I too was as desperate as them to use the toilet facilities. The only weapon I had in the toilet was unlimited amounts of water supply. Next thing I remembered was that the toilet was flooded and the ants were gone.

Lesson to learn from this is "Never mess with a man who's in desperate need to use the toilet".

Petrol Price Hike

I knew the this day would come eventually, but I didn't expect it to come that soon. I received an SMS from my mum telling me that the price of petrol would increase.

Diesel	RM2.58 per liter	RM1.58 per liter

That's a major hike in fuel prices!!! It's like a 40% increase for petrol. After seeing the new prices, I couldn't help wondering if my nasi lemak and teh tarik price would go up as well. Hmmm... I guess I might have to cut down on eating now.

Me, being the cool and composed person that I am; quickly scrambled out the front door and got into my car as if an ugly fat woman was chasing me and headed straight for the nearest petrol station.

There was an endless queue going on already at all the petrol stations everywhere. Everyone was as kiasu as me and wanted to fill up their tanks to the brim.

I've never seen so many people rushing to get the petrol station. It was as if the playboy playmates came over and were going to help customers hold on to their nozzles at all petrol stations nationwide.

So, what to do? When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Like a good schoolboy, I queued up like the rest, waiting patiently for my turn. There was a long queue at the back of me. Hahahaa, I'm in front of you.

After filling up my tank to the last drop, I heard the workers at the petrol station telling people that their supply was almost finished and they had to close shop very soon. If you ask me, I think they just want to wait until midnight, then open for business again when the price is higher. Business tactic eh?

It was the best feeling ever looking at my fuel gauge. It's like the feeling you get when you finish taking a dump, but a little better than that. Aahhh...

With the hike in fuel prices, I've come up with some "FUEL SAVING TIPS" that can be practiced by every Malaysians out there.

Instead of Driving, WALK
Instead of taking the Bus, WALK
Instead of taking a Taxi Cab, WALK
Instead of taking the LRT, WALK

If WALKING is not your cup of tea, you can substitute it with RUNNING or even CRAWLING. If you're rich enough to own a bicycle, then substitute the WALKING with CYCLING.

These "FUEL SAVING TIPS" is not only good for your health, it is also good for the environment. So, do your bit for Mother Earth and start saving now.

All is not lost with the hike in fuel prices. The government will give you an additional subsidy of RM625 per year if your car is below 2000cc.

Here is my "FUEL SUBSIDY INVESTMENT TIP"

Buy an old junk of a car (probably a kancil) for 1-2k
Drive that car into a river and let it sink down to the bottom.
Upon your road tax renewal, just pay your roadtax and claim your RM625
You will start reaping in profits as soon as the your 2nd year roadtax renewal date.
Think of the profits you would make if you invested in 5 or 10 or even 50 junk kancils.

I have a strange feeling that we won't be able to see any more junk kancils on the road in the near future.

Long gone are the days when we wore socks to protect feet from blisters. The plain single colored socks that went up to our ankles have been given a new lease of life. It's more of a fashion statement nowadays. If you ask me, these socks stimulate more excitement for guys than for girls. Catch my drift?

Shopping malls in KL have started to embrace this new culture recently. There seems to be more and more young girls wearing these socks out to entice us men. One fashion rule that I gather from viewing these girls, is that when wearing these fashion socks, you must always wear an ultra short mini skirt or a very small tight pair of shorts. Not that I'm complaining about this new trend. It actually gives me more interesting things to look at while I'm out shopping. I can handle it. I'm just concerned about those old uncles with weak hearts out there. Just a warning to these hotties; you might give an old man a heart attack some day.
