Cannot believe it’s been almost TWO months since I last posted….shameful!
These goofballs have kepts us quite busy!We get a lot of smiles every day.These guys LOVE flashlights!  One of their favorite games is taking their flashlights into mommy & daddy’s room, turning off the lights and shining them on the walls.  We can hear lots of giggles when they do it!
We also made a quick trip down to OKC to see my dad and stepmom.  While we were there we ran to Kite Park.
We had some fun play dates!
We even got some snow.  It was like this for about 10 hours then it had pretty much melted by bedtime.
So glad we got to enjoy it while it lasted.

And finallly, we recently celebrated Grandpa’s 75th Birthday!

HUH?  WHAT?!  I blinked and here are my little men.

Sutton is still my “passionate” child.  He has such a carefree spirit, even teachers at school talk about how he walks down the halls in such a carefree way, yet he is OCD about certain things….like DVDs and DVD cases.  This all began last year when he became OBSESSED with DVD cases.  He had to take them everywhere, all the time.  One day I had it with the fits over what case he would take and where it was, etc. so I just took them ALL and hid them.  Well….then we went to Kiki’s house and there are cases there and then for Christmas of course he got a new veggie tales so back to square one.  But, he will obey mommy and daddy when it’s time to put them up for nap or bed and we don’t take them into restaurants or school anymore.  His latest obsession though is moving the actual DVDs from case to case and MAN HE AMAZES ME with his memory.  He can recall every single DVD and it’s placement in his big case!  He doesn’t like coloring or puzzles but he loves to dance and sing and do the “credit cards,” which are actually flash cards.  He is so spirited and has such BIG hugs and kisses to give.  He is extremely social when out in public and will say hello and goodbye and give high-fives to anyone he meets.  He likes to just randomly say, “hi mama” when we are in the car or hanging out at home.  And as soon as he gets in trouble he wants me to hold him, which I don’t until his time is up of course.
He isn’t a fan of the bath and does pretty well with using the potty.  He will still have an accident every now and then but it’s usually when he’s wound up playing and not paying attention.
He is so sweet with sharing and almost gets frustrated when Fynn won’t take a toy from him.
Sutton likes to describe and narrate everything he is doing.  During breakfast he will say, “I’m going to drink my milk.”  Or he will tell me exactly where his poop his, “I have poop in my bottom!”  Gotta love toddlers.
At night when he is really tired he will jump into bed and ask me to turn off the light.  And as we walk out of their room he will always say, “sweet dreams, love you, good night!”
And when he wakes up he comes downstairs and says, “I had sweet dreams!”
Oh, and he loves to call his brother Fynnie.
Oh Fynnie.  My tender, sweet boy.  You are a PUZZLE WHIZ!  You literally will sit for 45 minutes doing one puzzle and I have to keep getting more so you will be challenged.  You like to color and you love play doh as well as race cars.  I would say you are pretty “go with the flow” on most things and will eat us out of house and home before we know it.  You usually go with what your brother wants but when you speak up with a different choice or opinion I always make sure and listen.  You truly love to have undivided attention so I make sure and spend quality time with you each and every day, whether it’s snuggling or doing a puzzle or maybe even reading a book.
You have crazy hair but it’s so cute when it’s long and actually fixed.  You will laugh and say, “my hair crazy mama!”  You love to explain things and will always tell me about your day at school.
When you dance it is probably the funniest thing in the world because you are so serious, which is complete opposite of your brother.
You are very sensitive and if you don’t get a hug and kiss from daddy before he leaves for work you get really sad.  And at night you always want a hug and kiss before you lay down.
You don’t like to be asked if you need to go potty but are really good about not having accidents lately.
You don’t mind washing your hands or brushing your teeth but like your brother you aren’t a huge fan of the bath anymore.
You truly eat ALL DAY LONG.  I constantly hear you say, “I need something else.”
You like to play with my hair and to be honest, that I don’t mind.
And when you wake from sleeping you always say to me, “I took a good nap!” because whether it’s afternoon or nighttime it was always a nap.

I’m so proud of how sweet and kind you two are…with each other and with your friends and family.  Yes you behave like toddlers at time but your tender souls always shine through.  You both say “thank you” when I hand you something or bring you your food/drink.  You know the word “please.”  You like to hold hands and play with each other.  You take turns.  You share with each other. You laugh together.  You make up games together.  You help each other.  You love each other.
I’m so thankful to have you two.

Mommy & Daddy love you so so so so so so very much!

Your Mamarazzi

Ahhhh, I WILL be better with keeping up my blog this year!!  Here’s a recap of December.  Busy month.  Fun Month.
We made Christmas cookies with Aubrey and Cam.
We also went on the Christmas Train, which I think will be an annual tradition from here on out!
Fynn was so excited for the train ride and Sutton was a little tired and quiet but when we got to the carousel he completely brightened up.  He was so happy on there and could have stayed on it all night.
We listened to carol singers, ate yummy stew and cornbread, ride mini horses and drank hot chocolate.

Christmas was a little difficult this year without Grandma.
Luckily the boys being another year old made it more fun because they were finally into opening presents and santa and the whole bit.
Uncle Jordan came to visit as well.
Fynn completely did this on his own.  Once he put those glasses on he became an entirely different boy.
The boys are complete wrestlers lately.
Seriously.
We were at a nice Christmas party and they started wrestling in the middle of the floor.
Of course everyone there thought it was so cute and funny but I was mortified.
Luckily they are 2 (ALMOST 3) so we can get away with it for now.
Fynn asked Santa for a race car and Sutton asked for a microphone.
And grandpa Jim and Linda sent this awesome roller coaster!
Papa O gave some awesome stocking stuffers and Sutton loved his Cars magazine.
Aunt Kim and Uncle Tom got this awesome double sided race track that they LOVE!
Miranda got them these cute books that Sutton loves.
Although I love the Christmas decorations I was happy to have our house back to normal once we took everything down.
And of course we had our annual play date with our twin friends!

My goal for 2013 is to do a better job at document my babies since they are almost 3 and no longer babies but BIG BOYS!

Yes we are almost to Christmas and I have yet to post since Halloween.  Life is BUSY!  But it’s a good busy.  Photography business was insanely busy!

So, here’s a recap of our November.

My sweet friend, Jesse, over at Good Girl Gone Glad was nice enough to snap a few pictures of the four of us.  My timing wasn’t the greatest, in that I chose the day after Halloween and the evening after a school day.  Boys were not the most cooperative.

The weather has been beautiful and perfect until this week so we made the most of it and went to the zoo with Kiki.
The boys always love the turtles.
We also went to the nature park to snap some pictures before I had a couple of sessions.
The boys LOVED the leaves!


Once photography slowed down I got to take more pictures of my kiddos.
I think they enjoyed the break though.
I love this boy’s cheeks and lips!!
Thanksgiving was spent at Kiki & Pappy’s house.  The night before we discovered their ovens were not working so we moved the cooking to our house.
We had breakfast and watched the parade.

We also did some garage painting!!

This year we decided early on we would dress the boys as Buzz Lightyear and Woody from Toy Story.  I always envisioned Fynn as Woody and Sutton as Buzz but Fynn is  a bit taller and the Woody costume was a tad short on him.  He looked so cute in that cowboy hat though!

But the boys love to “trade” so we changed last minute.

Kiki wanted the boys to come and trick-or-treat in her neighborhood so we did that first.

Then we went to the school carnival and by J Gram’s.

Fun night followed by exhaustion!

The Mamarazzi

I’ve been having mixed emotions about potty training ever since our boys were born.  I get excited thinking about saving money from diapers but I dread the accidents, having to take them to the potty in public.  There are TWO of them so knowing my luck I’ll take one then the other will have to go right after.  Well, it’s been a month and they are doing pretty good…at least when I don’t leave to do a photo session or a Stella & Dot jewelry show.

We did the 3-day method most of my mommy friends have used.  The first day I did alone until Jason got home about 1 from work and that was the longest morning OF MY LIFE!

By Friday evening Sutton had it down….even pooping in the potty.

By Saturday evening they were both getting better.

Monday came and it was becoming much easier.

Then I left town the next weekend and my husband was in a mess of pee and poop, poor guy!

So we got back on track and it’s still a lot of work but it’s worth it.

Fynn is GREAT with peeing….I can’t remember the last accident he had with pee.  It’s the pooping that is frustrating!

Sutton is doing great but will have accidents here and there.

We did stickers for peeing in the potty and M&Ms for poo poos.
And lots of HIGH FIVES!

They loved to count their stickers.
And we also did BIG prizes like airplanes and race cars.

Silly boys!

They are doing good and I know it will just get better and better.
It is so intriguing to watch a small human LEARN something so simple as going to the potty.
That first day you really see the “light go off” and it is such an amazing thing to experience.

It’s been a while….I’m so busy I’ve been slacking and I feel terrible I have neglected to document the boys’ lives for the past month.
Daddy and I went to New Orleans for a wedding and I also spent a weekend volunteering for the Tulsa Moms of Multiples consignment sale.
School has started The boys LOVE school!  Drop off is so easy and they are now at the age where they tell me all about their day.
We have been riding our bikes out front a lot lately.  They like to ride from our driveway to the neighbor’s on the sidewalk and can pretty much coast the entire length!  I think they will be ready for real bikes come next summer.

My photography business is really picking up!  October and November will be busy months.
Daddy’s practice is SO busy as well.
Life is going so great and you boys are just growing and changing each day.

Sutton is currently obsessed (slightly scary obsessed) with DVD cases.  He carries them at all times and even sleeps with at least one.  Fynn is equally obsessed with cars.

We recently went out to Will Roger’s Home for a fun afternoon.

After we explored the area we loaded up to go to Claremore for some cupcakes!
Tiny Cakes is just down the road from where Grandma and Grandpa lived.  We took the boys there once with Grandma and she just loved spending time with them!  We miss her so much!

The boys are such a fun age and behave pretty good so I have been venturing out with them to do more things and it has been so great being at home with them more.

We had a great Labor Day Weekend this year!  Daddy and I won tickets to the first Oklahoma State University football game!  The next day we went to the lake to help Papa O get the boat out of the water.  Sutton found this book titled, “How to Clean Practically Anything.”  He was OBSESSED with it….we even had to bring it home.

Monday we went to spend the day with Aunt Kim and Grandpa at Kiki & Pappy’s house.
We cleaned the pool, which the boys LOVED doing.
Did some swimmin’!
After we ate hamburgers and hot dogs Aunt Kimmie gave us fruit bars and BOY OH BOY were they MESSY!
But oh so yummy…and funny I guess.

I haven’t done a flashback friday post in forever and this week made me think of it because we have so  many changes with the boys!  We have been talking about doing three things…1) take away the binks/pacifiers 2) transition to toddler beds and 3) potty train.  Well with Sutton having surgery at the beginning of August we wanted to wait on all three.  So we decided we would wait to get rid of binks until Daddy got home from his weekend in Dallas.  So, one night he was working in the garage and I just decided to take them away…it was spur of the moment but I was just over them!  I talked for a few weeks prior about taking their binks and giving them to a baby because babies use binks, not big boys.  So that night I simply asked if they wanted to give their binks to the babies next door and they handed them to me.  Before they could second guess their decision and hid them in my pocket and diverted their attention to saying prayers and reading books.  Fynn maybe whined for a few minutes but they went to sleep fine.  The only bad thing is since taking them away Sutton has yet to take a nap during the day!  UGH!  But since then they have only mentioned them maybe one time.  Mission accomplished.

Goal #2 – Toddler Beds
Well, yesterday we just decided to go ahead and do it.  Sutton isn’t  napping so we might as well.  We heard horror stories of the transition for other parents so I was prepared for a long night of putting them back in bed.  Nope.  They went straight to sleep.  Easy peasy.  Now we will see how they do at nap time today but it can’t get much worse than how Sutton has been all week.  The best part of toddler beds, they woke up, came downstairs and crawled in our bed and watched cartoons for a little bit….giving mommy and daddy a little more rest time.  Mission accomplished.

So, next up….potty training.  I think they are ready but we want to have an entire free weekend to do it and that will be happen until the end of October so for now, we will finish our love/hate relationship with diapers.  I love the independence of now worrying about making potty breaks on road trips, at the grocery store, etc.  But man our bank account will LOVE the day we no longer pay for diapers.
I have learned so much from being a parents and so many times I don’t do something (take away binks, etc.) because I’m afraid of change and how they will respond but I keep learning over and over that these babies of ours are not babies anymore and they are ready and capable of much more than I give them credit.

I hope goal #3 happens as smooth and easy as #1 and #2.
