I will try to fill in a few details, and maybe even add a photo or two as I get time.

It was crazy. People from all over converging on the little town of Asotin, Washington to partake in a three day event. Well, the judging started a few weeks ago but this is the culmination. Goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, cows, floral arrangements, quilts, clothing, and even the eggs the chickens lay, are judged to see which is the best. How do you judge a chicken egg? I don't have any idea.

Oh, and my daughter says I forgot to include rabbits. Seems as if they judge just about everything here. There are vendors of all kinds selling their 'overpriced goods' to the willing to pay public. Hats, shirts, novelty items, food that will tear out your insides; deep fried twinkies, grease-slathered cheese burgers, deep fried corndogs that are so hot they singe your nose hairs, snow cones, curly fries whiched smelled amazing if you are willing to pay the $6.oo for a plate, elephant ears the size of well, elephant ears drizzled with chocolate or smothered in whip cream, and many more figure changing, gas belching delights for young and old alike.

Out on the midway there is a demonstration by the local karate school, and man swallowing swords and hammering a nail into his nose, music from the back stage while the young and old alike from the surrounding farms, and ranches sway in each other's arms to the music. A dolphin shaped balloon gets away, and soars into the sky with amazing dexterity. Who knew dolphins could fly?

I am sharing the ticket booth with two rambunctious teenage girls from the local band. They are working in the booths to raise funds for new band uniforms. I must say it is quite interesting to see how they banter back and forth, sometimes laughing sometimes screaming at each other as they wait on eager customers, and open the gates to let the vendors in. They really are helpful though, and it makes it easier on me since I barely slept last night.

Suddenly, the air is pierced with a deafening scream, as another teen girl shows up to 'help,' and it begins to deteriorate from there. It seems there is jealousy among the girls, and both want to spend more time with the new girl. Two of the girls leave to find a snack, and the other sits in the booth bored out of her mind as the stream of anxious fairgoers has slowed to a crawl. She begins to take the admission stamp and stamps the tables, the walls, the front of the signs on the booth. It gets very annoying quickly. Then they begin to record themselves on their digital video cameras singing, making funny faces, and they get a big kick out of playing it back and seeing how, well, retarded they look. This goes on until they leave at 5 pm. I got here to help at 7 am, and realized I wasn't going home until 10 pm, so it would indeed be a very long day.

But, back to day two of the event. I didn't sleep well last night. We got home about 11:30 pm, and I didn't sleep well. We had to be back at the fair by 5:30 am because the cowboy breakfast starts at 6 am. They said the food was good, but I don't know. I didn't get to try it. I have been sitting in this booth taking tickets, opening the gates, and about to pass out from being so tired, but I cannot leave the booth, even for a moment, as most of the kids are not able to help, because the parade is going on, and as most of them are marching in the parade, I am left here alone to control the crowd, take tickets, make change, open the gates for vendors, and try to stay alert to those that try to sneak in.

There is a chill in the morning air, and the wind is blowing. It is a cold day, and I really want a nap. I can hear the parade as the drums beat vibrantly. My son is playing the bass in the parade, and it is so loud even up here in the booth I can feel the beat even though the parade is more than two miles away. The staccato beats of the snares, the whiney of the horses, the roar of the crowd, and the smells of cotton candy and popcorn wafting their way to me up here in the booth, in the wind, in the cold, hungry; tired; bored... sigh. I want to lay down, but here I am. That is life on this planet!

$10,000 for a child's birthday party???

UNBELIEVABLE! I just read this article on CNN about insane morons giving their kids $5000, $10 thousand, even $25 million dollar birthday parties. Are we for real here?

A couple mothers actually felt bad when they could only spend $1000 on their toddler's birthday bash. Have we grown so rich (or perhaps delusional) that we think this is the norm and everyone must outdo each other?

I cannot imagine what kind of jobs these people have to be able to afford to give their precious little demon a party, that is more expensive than many people pay for a first car for their child. I know I couldn't afford it, but even if I could, there is no way I would pay $25,000 for a birthday party for my daughter, or God forbid $25 million. Complete insanity! It is no wonder there are so many divorces, school shootings, unwed mothers, and depression.

We could blame MTV for its 'Sweet 16' show in which spoiled rotten teens are given these elaborate parties, cars, dresses, etc in an attempt to show their children how much they love them. Are we kidding? Your child is pretensious, spoiled, and will never amount to anything if you do that, and if you would examine your life, you would find out, your kid wants to spend time with you more than they want money!

If that is not the case, you need to take them behind the woodshed, and tan the little demon's hide. Mothers, fathers, grandparents; it is your fault that America's kids are growing up to expect the world should hand them their kingdom.

This type of behavior sets a really bad precident. A few years back, kids were ok with what their parents could afford and thankful. Now, we have a bunch of ungrateful, lazy, spoiled kids, who think everyone owes them.

I read this last week about some schools in larger areas actually paying kids to go to school. Why? Because Jonny needs to get off his butt, and they figure paying them is the best way. Meanwhile, out in the rural places of America, the schools are falling apart from disrepair because they cannot get enough funds for the school systems.

If Jonny doesn't want to go to school, let him die a bum. If he doesn't want to show some self respect and responsibility for himself, then it is his fault, and most likely his mother or father that has showed him that everything will be fine playing the system.

Wake up people! Who is going to take care of the country if all we are raising is lazy self indulgent slobs who have everything take care of for them? Ahhhh.. that is life on this planet!

Whiney Babies! Obama & Hillary

Ok, again the losers are the American people. The debate on ABC the other night has raised a lot of issues that the normal news media has seemed to forget lately. I applaud ABC for their questions.

Today, many complaints were given over the coverage, because "the issues they were asking for the first part of the debate, were not issues the American people are concerned about." ARE WE KIDDING HERE?

WHO MADE YOU THE RULER OF OUR MINDS, YOU MORONS?

I am very glad the questions were raised. Believe it or not, the fact that Obama is attached at the hip to a fanatic racist preacher is important. Who gives a crap if Obama wasn't prepared to answer the question. I do not want a president that has to wait until he is advised on what to say to open his mouth. Grow a conscience Obama. Help real people, not just those wack jobs who think you are the coming messiah.

As for you Hillary; it was time you acknowledged that you are not omnipotent. A blowhard who thinks she knows it all, and thinks America is stupid enough to believe she doesn't lie, but merely misspoke when she said she was under sniper fire. RIGHHHTT! It is too bad working America, yes the people with real jobs that matter, not phonies who elevate themselves to sainthood or public office, cannot just lie and excuse it and wave it away with a flick of the wrist when they are caught cheating.

WE ALL KNOW YOU LIED! Get over it! If you are not sure whether or not you were under sniper fire when you landed, and figured it was ok to embelish it, then I for absolute positivity do not want you in charge of my country. What are you going to forget and embellish next?

Well, the sad part is, hordes of the lemmings that make up the democratic party pulled in behind both Hillary and Obama spouting the unfairness of the questions, because they were not prepared with predetermined answers to fit with their program.

Even the youngest student in school doesn't get the questions in advance of a test, unless they are cheating, so what makes you think you deserve them? But again, that is life on this planet!

I am sick of Hillary & Obama!

Last night, I watched some of the 'Passion Forum' on CNN. Basically, it was a setting where Obama and Clinton could show how spiritual they were. I told myself a few months ago that I wasn't going to delve into politics too much, but frankly I am sick of the lies, sick of the commericials, and sick and tired of hearing them talk.

Do they realize that people dislike both of them?

All of this, "I am better because..." has gotten really old. The only advantage to them continuing to open their moronic lips is that by the time they get to the actual convention, no one will care who wins.

HILLARY Hilarity
Hillary came into this contest expecting to be crowned queen of the world. But she is a liar, and a cheat, and will make up anything to get her point across. I think she actually doesn't realize she is lying. How could she? She is a meglomaniac of infinite proportions. She claims she has the interests of the little guy at heart, but I wonder which little guy she is talking about.

In the past few years, her and Billy boy have made oodles of money, and she has pushed an agenda of liberal fanaticism, but what has she really done for anyone? She talks, but where is the action.

What did she do for the hurricane victims of Katrina? Has she been to Darfur to see the abuse and suffering? She has been to Iraq, but she holds our military in contempt for doing the job she voted them to do. It doesn't make sense to me. This latest thing of her landing in Bosnia amid sniper fire and running from the plane with Chelsea in tow, darting amongst the exploding shrapnel, and narry a scratch? It's a bird, its a plane, it's... super liar! She can leap over the truth in a single bound, catch a windfall on stolen property, and change her appearance without even the need for a phone booth.

How she went from being the daughter of poor blue collar workers from Illinois, to being the native daughter of Arkansas, to now becoming a Pennsylvanian, because at one time her family actually camped in the backwoods, way back in the 1950s, when she is a Senator from NY, which somehow was convinced she would be good for them.. it is too confusing. Someone needs to find her kryptonite! When she doesn't win, and she will not, we will find out she is actually Canadian from Toronto, and doesn't give a flip about America unless it puts power or money in her control.

OBAMA Owhamma

Does anyone really know who this guy is?? He claims to not be muslim, but he has many muslim beliefs. He claims to come from American roots, but he spent a good portion of his life living somewhere else. His momma is white, and his daddy is from Africa somewhere, but he has also lived in Indonesia and Hawaii, so he knows how the rest of us who barely get by struggle.

Give me a break!

He has been wealthly his entire life. He doesn't know the pangs of poverty. He admitted last night, he joined the racist preacher's church because he liked the 'ministries' they had there. he wasn't even a church goer, until he was trying to get teen centers built by churches to be more efficient. I think he too makes it up as he goes along. He joined the church because of what programs they had, not because he believes in God.

I wish someone would ask him exactly what he believes about God. I don't really think he would be able to answer. He would talk about good things, moral judgements, but when it comes to actually knowing God, he doesn't. Yes, the bible says we shouldn't judge, but it also says by their fruit you shall know them.

Let's face the reality here. If he wouldn't have had the backing of the almighty self imposed queen of spirituality, we wouldn't even know who Obama is. If Oprah walked away and no longer supported him, or if somehow he wasn't black, he wouldn't even be in the running. That may sound racist to some, but it is the truth. Obama is a fraud. Oprah is trying to be a king maker, to further elevate herself to the divine. I could go on and on about her pretending to be Christian, but it is apparent, she thinks of herself as a god, so no sense trying to pretend anymore Oprah! But I digress, I do not like her, and do not think she is really a good person. I think she is evil, and has sold her soul to the devil.

I think I have the solution to figuring out how to solve the Hillary-Obama dilema. We should have them duel. One picks the weapons, the other chooses first weapon, and they meet on the steps of the Democratic Convention and go at it. Whoever is left standing would be the nominee. There would be a lot less rhetoric, and a lot more thought and actual use if nominations was by death or life. yes, I realize there is a chance that both would die from the process, but who cares??? That's life on this planet!

Allergy Season

Blah! Woke up this morning unable to open my eyes much. When I looked in the mirror I looked puffy-eyed. The weather has been so weird lately. Yesterday was hot and sunny about 85 degrees F. Today is back down to the 50s and the sky is filled with clouds.

I guess I shouldn't complain, but I hate itchy eyes, sneezing, and in short, feeling crummy. I don't want to go anywhere, but I have classes today, so here I am at school wasting time instead of working on projects for clients.

I can tell I won't get a lot done today... I don't even want to. Today should be a holiday. Maybe I will create a new one.

I now declare April 14, international whine about allergies day!

Do you ever just wish you could sleep in? Is there a way to advertise nationwide to sell something instead of locally?

I am sick of eBay. Prices too high for crap. And being a seller, it isn't easy when the fees you are forced to pay are higher than the prices you can charge for what you are selling. It is time there should be an alternative, or at least some sort of product I can sell that I can make a good deal on.

The free enterprise system doesn't work so well anymore, but thats Life on this Planet.

A New Year -- A New Life

It has been a few weeks since I last posted, and a lot has changed. We now have whittled down the political candidates to two on the democratic side, and basically two on the republican side. Personally, it is looking to me like Obama will be the nominee for the liberal facists. The moronic conservatives seem to be leaning toward McCain, with Huckabee a distant second. Who knows? Over the next few weeks it will change. Maybe someone can find the ghost of Abraham Lincoln to run?

I have been so busy lately. I am too old to be going back to school. LOL Too many late night, too many early mornings, and entirely too much knowledge to consume, but somehow the insanity will prevail and I will muddle thru until I have the all so important diploma. But that is life.

The thing I cannot comprehend is the teachers are asking me the questions? AM I not the student? Aren't they supposed to be the teacher? Some days it feels like I am the one with experience and knowledge, but they sure are getting paid better than I am. lol

I guess it will pay off in the end. At least I am not bored.

It has opened my eyes in many ways though. Because of the courses I am taking, I am forced to view the work of others in my chosen vocation and critique them, and frankly, I know I could do better. However, somehow they are the ones getting all the business. Does anyone know why?

I sure don't, but then again, maybe they know something I don't? Naw! That is just life on this planet.

It's Official! Nutcases Abound.

We have lost our minds once again! Obama, Clinton, McCain, and Huckabee have all proved one thing; people have passion, even if it is misguided. I really do not get it.

I am not one to be political usually, but this last few months, I have seen smart people be pushed aside by rhetoric, and those without real vision or ideas, somehow make it to the top. I guess its like garbage after a big storm or hurricane, the garbage floats to the top.

There was a time I liked Obama. I thought he was cool and different. I am not a Democrat, but not really invested in Republicans either, so I guess in retrospect that would make me an Independant? Whatever happened to the Whigs? Or other parties that matter? However, over the last few weeks, to me, Obama sounds like any other politician. Lots of words, not a lot of ideas on how to make it work.

Just tonight I heard him proposing a flat $4000 of free money for students each year. He says he would like them to repay it with 'community service.' What to him is community service? I cannot imagine how much work it would take in the community I live in for all the students who would take advantage of this opportunity. What are they all supposed to do? Furthermore, who is going to pay all this money? Me? We are over taxed now and you claim there should be more benefits for the middle class and the poor, and yet, lets be real. The rich barely pay taxes. It usually falls to the middle and lower classes to pay the bills, and frankly it is their children who also die in our military endeavors around the world. Somehow we think this is justified?

Also, Obama wants to give drivers licenses to the illegals from Mexico, or wherever they are from. His thought is they will be more responsible, pay insurance, etc? DUDE! They aren't legal to be here, what makes you think they even want licenses? They certainly are not going to pick up their fare share of the costs attributed with driving, let alone health care, insurance, etc.

You want to solve the problem? Tell em to go home! Or park a bus at the border, and drive them to Canada where they can have all the freedom they want plus free healthcare. Course the healthcare in Canada is about as good as slapping a bandaid on a heart attack, but hey, it would be someone else's problem.

Another thing Obama said tonight in his speech in Houston made me mad. He insinuated that when he is 'president' he will bring America back and show the world we are here to help. I don't get it. Why are we always fixing the problems of Darfur, Iraq, Iran, India, Russia, etc? TELL THEM TO GET OFF THEIR LAZY BUTTS and fix their own problems. Why do we have to fix everyone else, but allow our children, vetrans, and disabled to go hungry and sleep in the streets? We have our own problems, despite what the wannabe important people like Angelina and Brad think. If they want to use their own money to help the countries, then let them. Why are we giving them any credibilty? Oh that right, they don't pay the taxes, it's once again on the middle class and the poor to find a way to come up with money to fix everywhere else.

OK. Now, let's talk about Mike Huckabee. Hey Moron, you may be some form of Christian, but the second coming is more probable in the coming weeks than you winning the nomination. It is time for you to graciously, well thats not probable anymore, lets just say get your big butt out of the way, and let the real republican be there to win. I don't care if the so-called evangelicals are backing you. Jesus doesn't need a supposed Christian in the White House to make things work, and I am sick and tired of wannabe christians speaking for me. I am a true christian, and these phonies with talk shows, that are morally 'right' need to step back and understand, it isn't all about them.

We don't need a pastor in charge, we need someone with proven leadership, in areas of controversy, turmoil, and someone who has stood the test of time. Not someone who used Jenny Craig to become half a man. And let's face it. You were governor of Arkansas. Most of the people I know from there don't even know when to put shoes on, so don't think you have somehow inherited the ability to be my leader.

Anyhow, I am tired so let's sum up. There really isn't a candidate I would trust to be the president left in the race. We are left with so-called wannabes who think that it is their devine, or inherant right to tell the rest of us what to do for a while. Hilary is a loser, and no one in their right mind will vote for her. She is about herself, always has been. She could care less about America, she is just a glory seeker. Obama, he has no experience, and while he may be good at talking, he has no real concept of how he is going to make it work. Plus, I am willing to bet, if he gets the nomination, some good ol' boy from the south will make an attempt on him somehow. Huckabee got lucky in Iowa and it went to his head. Now he thinks he is a real viable candidate despite the fact that there is no way, other than the death of John McCain, that he will get the nomination, so he's just letting his pride get the best of him. Step aside shoeless joe, and let your guitar do the talking for you.

As for McCain, I am sure I have some serious differences with what he believes in many areas. However, Romney dropped out, because it was costing too much (which by the way is a shame, we shouldn't be able to buy an election) but consider the alternative. Hillary? NO WAY! Obama? I know there is a muslim connection somewhere. Huckabee? I'd rather have Jed Clampett. It is just crazy, and yet somehow each of them say they are the one who should win, but none of them have showed me what they can do for me.

The again, it is always that way isn't it? That's life on this planet.

Christmas IS My Favorite Time of Year!

There has been so much bad news lately. So many guns, so much violence so much anger, but Christmas is here, and most will stop and reflect on life, and the past year. I was sitting here tonight listening to Christmas carols, and listening to my little girl sing along as she wrapped one more present for "Mom." It brought tears to my eyes, and I started thinking how grateful I am for the life I have, and for my family, and for Christ. He has made a difference in all of our lives.

Whether or not they acknowledge it, or even if we do not, Christmas is one of the only times the whole world comes together as a rememberence of the day Christ was born. They may not believe the way we do, or even act the way they should, but regardless of whether or not they like it, it is the only official holiday that is based simply on faith or religious reasons.

Yes, I am not blind the fact that Santa Claus, Rudolph, and Frosty sometimes get more press, but still in all in started with a baby born in a manger.

Yes, Christmas may have started as a pagan holiday, but we do not have to have pagan traditions in order to observe Christ's birth. I am sorry if you think it is ok to leave the birth of Christ out when you celebrate your own birthday. To some they would rather ignore Christmas because of some man made tradition than they would celebrate Jesus birth at all. You wouldn't ignore your own child's birth would you?

If you do not celebrate Christmas, what do you do? What do you tell your children? And yes, I know the rest of the world is wrapped up in gifts, for themselves as well as others, but for most of us, Christmas is the one time of year when all of our families can actually get time off to be together and remember the good old days.

For me, tommorrow there will be 28 people in my house enjoying a meal, spending time playing games, showing respect for each other, and showing each other how much we care. (No, it isn't all gifts.) I get to see friends and family that have been too far away to visit in a year or so. I get to see my twin nieces first Christmas, as they were born premature with all kinds of health problems, lots of surgeries, and the things they came thru, only God could have had a hand in. I get to see grandparents who have lived for God more than 90 years, and see the joy on their face as they see the smiles on the children;s faces as they exclaim awe and glee with being remembered.

(Just today, my nephew, almost 5 was crying, because he forgot to buy his big sister a present. It wasn't enough that his parents had things they could let him give, he wanted something he picked out for her. So he drew a picture of baby Jesus in the manger, wrapped it around a candy cane he bought at the dollar store, and was proud he had a gift for his sister. It wasn't the expense, it was the thought that was important to him.)

(My wife recieved a Christmas card today with photos of one of her brother's kids, and cried because she can't hold them in her arms for Christmas, but appreciated even though we are far apart, our hearts are still together.)

(For myself I was excited today when I got a Christmas card from friends that used to live nearby. I haven't even known where they lived for the past 15 years, and it brought a smile to my face, that the miles and the years haven't completely seperated us from our memories. I was also excited to be making candy, christmas cookies, and fudge with my son and daugther helping.)

Little things, but it is about spending time together, stepping away from the normal buzz of our lives and realizing how much we enjoy each other's company and how much love can be shared if we try just a little.

Is Santa Claus real? No, but there is a feeling of excitement in the air, a more joyful and compassionate feeling that permeates the snowy air this time of year, that isn't around other times. I admit it is sad that the same feeling isn't around all year, but still people come together for one time, all over the earth to spread a little happiness with each other.

Is it a pagan holiday? Maybe, but maybe not, the only one who really knows is God himself, and he thought the birth of Christ was important enough to send angels to tell the shepherds about it. He thought it was important enough to put a star in the sky to guide the wise men to the baby Jesus. Is a Christmas card commericial? Yes, but we can make them ourselves, and if Jesus thought, stars and angels were worth sending why not send a card? Hey He Lives! Tell Someone!

So whether you are a scrooge, or a grinch, or just having a hard time financially, everyone can take a few moments on Christmas to reflect on what Christ has done in our lives, what he can do when we allow him room, and we can spend time loving each other. It doesn't cost anything to show someone your love, or your smile.

Merry Christmas!

Can you say DUHHH!

UNBELIEVABLE!

Last night on our pathetic, but only (so far) local news broadcast, they talked about the theft of a wallet at the local Zip Trip store. They released footage of the man picking up the wallet and wanted help in locating him.

Today the local newspaper, Lewiston Morning Tribune, had the photo and the article about the theft on the bottom of the front page of the paper.

It is a very clear photo, easy to make out many details of the man, and if you looked at the video which is actually available on the local, but still pathetic, television news channel, it would be very easy to get many shots of this guy.

The ironic part (DUHHHH!) part of this story.

On the front page of the paper directly above the article of the theft was the photo below. I swear I am not making this up.

Big caption, Sign of the Times, the name of the individual, and his place of business.

Remarkable, but entirely true. See if you can notice the resemblence.

Several comments were made on the tribunes website related to this, but it wasn't until this afternoon that the tribune, local radio, and I am guessing eventually even the local TV news will pick it up.

Are we kidding here? I am wondering why the person doing the layout of the paper somehow missed the similarities. Same build, same coat, same hair color. It is pretty easy to see. I don't know who the DUHHH! belongs to more.

The newspaper who, although they had to know it was him, didn't break with the headline first thing. Or him for actually thinking he wouldn't be caught on video camera stealing the purse, and then having the audactity to know he was going to be on the Tribune for painting the windows.

(note) There are now rumors circulting that this guy also owns the local 'computer gaming internet cafe' where your kids go to play Halo, Quake, etc. which if true he should have some inkling about technology, and should have had a little common sense. Still waiting for verification, but if true.... (shakes head) that's life on this planet.

(update 12/14/2007) It is amazing how people when confronted try to lie. This guy has told different stories to everyone who he talked to about this, including he was afraid the store wouldn't get the wallet back to the owner, he thought it was his wife's wallet, and more... thing is he spent a good portion of the money before he left the wallet in his place of business. He didn't even try to throw it away? Now, not only has he spent someone else's money, he also has a record, his family is humiliated, he had to post $5000 bail, and he has to make restitution, but because he has done this very stupid thing, people are boycotting his business. He could have made a lot of money painting store windows, but now because of sheer stupidity, he has lost a lot more than was even in the wallet. Sometimes, people are just plaint idiots. I guess it takes all kinds, but then again, that is life on this planet!

The Trouble With Tribbles

The Trouble With Tribbles was an episode on the original Star Trek series that showed the problems that can arise when we think we have it all under control.

Tribbles were little furry creatures that would make great pets, seeming easy to take care of, but in the end were full of problems that were next to impossible to work out.

So, what am I talking about?

We have placated our children with video games, television, movies, and more that depict gross viloence and immorality, and yet we wonder where we have gone wrong when one of these little ones gets out of hand and causes major chaos.

Everyone thinks there kid wouldn't do this or that, but when the chaos is finished we look around for answers or someone to blame, but it is too late.

I remember the day when the worst offenses in school was chewing gum, or perhaps someone God forbid cussed out the teacher. It was shameful to be doing drugs and if you did or hung out with those that did, you were considered a pothead or a stoner and no one wanted to be like that, not even the potheads themselves.

Over the years though, the disregard for ones self, and for others became more apparent, and it became a 'crime' to make kids mind. After all my kid wouldn't.... you must be mistaken....I will take my child elsewhere, how dare you accuse....

We brough R rated movies into our homes as the new thing was video tape players, and it was easy to bring the movies that we wouldn't have been caught dead at, into our homes. Video games, though they were simple, and now mostly archaic, were created that allowed us to shoot the enemy, kill, hunt, bomb, or worse. The desire for 'better graphics' let to more movie like animations in the games and it wasn't long before on the video screen you could see someone spattered in blood across the screen as their head was blown off.

Our kids became more disrespectful, and instead of pulling back the reins, we began to allow them more 'freedom.' Teenage pregnancy, violence, drop-outs, deliquincy grew rampant, but it was always someone else's fault. Never the fault of the parent, or perhaps even the video game, and movie makers. It was society's problem now.

Our jails are full of kids who were likely never told no. Or if they were, we waited until they drove us crazy with whining, and then gave in.

So, you are asking how is this like Tribbles?

Tribbles were 'born pregnant.' They created (populated0 rapidly after their own kind, until there was no more room to hold them. They took over, and sanity was replaced with chaos. They couldn't be killed, after all they were a 'lifeform.' They had life but began to take the life of others.

You see, sometimes things can look under control, but before we know it complete chaos reins.

These past six monts there have been so many violent acts perpetrated on society, and innocent lives have been lost because of what?

The one mother bought her child a gun because he was a loner; didn't have many friends; was picked on. WHAT?

Just recently this killer, Drew Peterson, and let's face it, we all know he is guilty even though somehow it has escaped the authorities in Illinois, created a website to 'defend drew' and please donate to his 'worthy' cause.... blah blah blah. Is he kidding? Why does he need money to create a defense when he hasn't even been charged with anything? He is guilty. It will come out, but in the meantime do not side with this loser. However, this reflects the apathy of society for justice, they seem to the most part content with allowing him to do whatever he likes and get away with it.

Same with OJ, although supposedly this time he will pay.

Then this past week, the Colorado shootings of people wanting to be missionaries and share the Love of God with others and then shooting at a local church, before killing himself by a nutcase. What was his motive. He had wanted to be a 'missionary' but didn't fit the lifestyle, so he was told he couldn't. So instead of trying to do it on his own, he shoots people? Lord Help Us!

It is time we as a society begin to turn back the clock, and bring discipline, respect, and yes, manners back to our lives, or before we know it, it will all be anarchy. The Trouble With Tribbles!

To say nothing of our political candidates. It is like someone took a cookie cutter, and cut out a bunch of cookies all one flavor, and decorated them just a bit different. Underneath it is all the same flavor, it just looks different on the outside... but that is another topic.... I think ... stay tuned... that's life on this planet!

The Colors of Fall??

The other day I was driving thru town just appreciating the colors changing on the trees, the crisp, cool air, and the smell of burning leaves?? It is illegal to burn leaves in our valley this time of the year.

Because we live in the valley, there can be a haze of smoke engulfing us if we allow the burning the leaves, but that is only a small part of the story. A group of 'bored teen boys' decided to burn a flag, on election day. The fact that their act was both disrespectful and illegal didn't seem to phase them. The ironic part of the story though, is they burned it and stomped on it at a gas station, and then were ' told not to do that by the local police' but no charges were administered.

Are we kidding here?? People have since commented on the story, and most have taken the side of disrespect for our country or vetrans, but there are a few who proclaim loudly that boys will be boys, and if we had more for them to do...

First off it is illegal to burn leaves right now, and they were burning a flag and stomping on it. It is vandalism in the least offense, but it was also pure stupidity. Where were their parents, and why haven't their parents come forward and taken responsibility.

I know it isn't a crime to burn a flag, although it should be. How does burning something equate with free speech? There are no words coming forth from the fire. It doesn't really make a statement, but if you do not like it, then why don't you move. Iran would accept you freely.

Since when did the colors of fall include a burning symbol of our country, and which liberal moron gave these kids the idea that it was ok to dispay such acts of cowardice and rebellion?

The scariest part of it all is that these boys not only won't do time in this hick town, but they may become some of the leaders of our tomorrow. I wonder how this plays into global warming? What would Al think of this? Would Hillary take part in burning the flag?? Oh thats right, she did once, back in college... and she wants to be our leader???? Whose blood is she willing to spill in order to have her way? No matter what she says, count on it, it will be your son's and daughter's blood that next becomes the color of "fall."

Somewhere, somehow, someone has got to step up and take responsibility for their own actions... I wonder if their is another messiah on the horizon? That's life on this planet!

It's OK to Die.... but what about LIVING?

I know its a title that most people will think OMG, what is wrong. Really nothing is. Recently I turned on the television and saw a man talking about dying, and at first my reaction was, "I don't want to watch this," but I did and I am glad I did.

The man's name is Randy Pausch, and he is dying. But to tell you the truth he has more life in him than most people I know. The portion I watched was on Oprah, and it moved me.

We have all heard the cliche's about living life, but when I listened to this man, I believed him and was moved by his message. We spend so much time focusing on the negatives of our lives rather than just living and taking it one day at a time. I am saddened when I think of my own life and how tragic , rather pathetic I can be when I spend a portion of my life worrying about how I feel, or commenting on 'my pains' rather than focusing on the brilliance of life, and things around me to enjoy. I do not believe I am alone in this.

As a people, we tend to focus more of our attentions on the bad in life, than the good. I wonder what would happen to us all, if we could just spend ten minutes of our day forcing ourselves to think positive about life? Our lives are filled with advertisements about worry, drugs we can take to feel better, sleep, or 'enjoy life.' What is wrong with us?

I am glad that the cigarette commercials are gone from TV, and a lot of the alcohol ads are restricted to sports channels, but now our airwaves are filled with dysfunctional people, and commercials for the newest quick fix drug. They too should be off the air. They are drugs no matter how much they pay or how they make us feel, they shouldn't be on TV where my kids are watching.

If our teenage son or daughter was offered some crack, or pot, or something, from a school counselor because 'it will make you feel good, man,' then we would be outraged. And yet we are blatantly oblivious when it comes to the commercial that are beamed into our kids heads. In fact there is one 'supplement' called focus factor that the woman exclaims, "they give it to you free, it has to be good." Yeah they are just getting you to set aside real life and coping skills in favor of some artificially enhanced feeling. (It was that way with LSD, Marijuana, Heroin, Peyote, etc. but because they were not FDA approved, we banned them.) Yet, the company made versions of similar substances are highly promoted in our culture. Let's face it, we are a bunch of drug addicts. Even caffeine is a drug. Pass that on to Starbucks.

However, we live these lives of ours focused on the negatives, or taking something to make us feel good. Most of us have issues at times, sure, but it is part of LIFE. Live It!

Randy, who knows he is dying, chooses to live, and he is positive in his life and his message, even though he doesn't know how much time on this earth left, and he is a younger guy who is affecting lives at a college. I encourage you to watch his video. It is a bit long and I believe it is on YouTube, and Oprah in condensed versions if you do not have a lot of time. It is about learning to live our dreams and I am sure it will touch you.

http://www.cmu.edu/homepage/multimedia/randy-pausch-lecture.shtml

Blogger Date

I haven't figured out why the blogger dates do not appear but just the time.. will have to think on that one... open to suggestions....... oh well, that's life on this planet!

Pedophiles Run Rampant in MAINE?

I know lately I have been ranting on an on, but the world has gone BONKERS!

I am sure you have heard by now, but in case you haven't a school board in Maine has decided it is ok to give your 11-year old daughter birth control without your consent or knowledge. They claim it will not cause middle school kids to experiment with sex, but if you really believe that, you must be as big of a moron as they are.

Now I realize, there are going to be some kids who will already experiment. However, giving kids sex education including how to put a condom on for the boys, and then handing out birth control to little girls like they are smarties is going to cause enormous problems. Some are not going to take the birthcontrol and there will be little girls with babies. Are you going to force abortion on them too, or will we not know about that too?

I think, the reason for the birth control is simple. The school board, and school is full of pedophiles, and they do not want to get caught by getting one of their victims pregnant!

Perverts!

Their claim is the parents sign a form that allows the school to give their children medication, so birth control should be included.

What's next?

Arsenic?

If you live in Maine, and have a young daughter, look into homeschool, otherwise you may be a grandma before you are 26! That's LIFE on THIS planet!

Crisis In Cleveland Part 2

Last week I learned that the school shooter's mother bought him guns, and bomb making equipment because he was 'considered a social outcast' and she felt sorry for him. WHAT?

Gone are the days when parents taught their children self respect and discipline. Now if Johnny doesn't like this friends, or doesn't do well in school let's rush out to GunsRUs and buy him a semi automatic gun so he can blow the teacher's brains all over the chalkboard. Unbelievable!

What is wrong with people? If you are going to put a gun in the hands of your mentally disturbed psychopathic moron, save us all the trouble and suffocate him while he sleeps, and then use the gun to go kill yourself, because you are taking up entirely too much air that sane people breathe.

If I were allowed to have a say in the matter, I think the mother should be executed at dawn on Halloween so she can join her pathetic offspring in hell. But that is another story!

Back tomorrow! What doesn't fit this phrase?

Global Warming? or Global Warning?

Sure we are all aware of the fact that the planet is warmer than it used to be, but is it really global warming? And frankly, other than writing a book because he is already famous for being such a big loser in the US Presidential elections, what else has Al Gore done?

Well, he claims to have invented the internet, but we all know that is as ridiculous as him trying to fit into a size 44r suit. Yes, Al, after running for office we noticed you picked up the habits of your buddy bubba and can't seem to put the Whoppers down. You know, being a beached whale doesn't qualify you to be in charge of global warming, it just means you are part of the problem.

You fly to conferences, events, award ceremonies in your overidulgent private jet, to talk to us about conserving energy, wasteful spending, and using products that are bad for the enviroment? And sadly, many of us buy it!

A few of us, including Glenn Beck have acknowledged that yes the climate is warming, but over the periods of years, the climate always is in change. We get it AL! But you are not the reason we know about it.

I lived in the 1970's. Back then everything was about planting a tree, conserving water, and doing our best to help the planet. We even had an official US flag with the symbol for ecology on it. As young kids, and even boy scouts we looked for litter, did our best to keep our own areas clean, and well remember Woodsy Owl?

Every kid, and parents too, did what they could to help the enviroment. Ricth, poor, black, white, church goer to nutcase living out int he woods, we did our part.

And the planet really was better for it. However, now it is a big thing amongst celebrities to jet around in their big jets, drive 125,000 dollar suv's and claim they care more about the enviroment than the normal people. They spend thousands of dollars polluting the very enviroment they claim to care about. And the sad thing is, we are so engrained with the media, and worship of the lifestyles these morons have, that we buy it.

So far I have only noticed one celeb who seems to support the enviroment really. Ed Begley Jr. He rides a bike, has a solar powered home, and well, even he profits from 'the enviroment.' He even has a show on HGTV.

But back to global warming. How do we think we can fix the enviroment we have created? Sure, we are damaging it to a degree, but even the noted scientists Al Gore claims to have worked with in coming to his conclusion, say that yes, the climate is always changing. Why in fact there is a story just out today that shows that some of the melting of the antartic glaciers isn't due to the ozone layer, or man's destruction, but rather to magma. What's magma? It it the molton lava layer of the earth we live on buried beneath us keeping out planet warm.. did I say warm? Global Warm? Yes. Al Gore, when you get done trying to look important because you have never really done anything for anyone but yourself, then please try and find a cause that you can actually live up to, but you won't. The inconvenient truth Al is that you are getting hefty, but then again maybe that is your next cause. Did you know that being fat is now a disability? That is life on this planet.

Crisis in Cleveland!

I was disturbed greatly when I read the news of the most recent school shooting. What has gone wrong with people?

Whether or not it is true, there was a mention that someone saw this kid load the weapon, but was afraid if he told anyone he might be a target, and so he went to the cafeteria instead and had lunch. WHAT?

There was talk of 'Asa' being a troubled kid who loved to cause problems, and was always dressing up in the goth style. He supposedly even 'worshipped' Marilyn Manson, and got in arguements with teachers and students both about the existance of God.

Now, I won't say we cannot believe what we want, but 'My God,' where in the world are his parents. Did they not know their 14 year old son was hell-bent on destroying both his life and the lives of those around him? Since before the Columbine incident, there have been numerous references to Marilyn Manson, goth style clothing, and trouble kids shooting in our schools. It is a pattern, and because we don't want to hurt little Jonny's feelings we let him be... and Bang! Another dead student.. or even more!

What is it going to take for us to wake up?

We have listened to the liberal media and wack jobs wanting to run our country who promote love, but allow anything to happen, and this is what we end up with. I was in a supermarket recently, and this 5 year old brat of a child threw himself on the floor when he didn't get what he wanted and started screaming at the top of his lungs, "If you don't buy me what I want I will tell the police you beat me and raped me!"

Discipline, respect, responsibility, and self awareness have gone out the window.

We have turned into a blithering mass of idiots. One of these days that mentally psychotic 14 year old boy may have his finger on the button that blows all of us up. We may even vote him, or her, into office.

America wake up before it is too late. Mom, go check out your son's bedroom and see just what he has in there, before you are just another headline in the morning news! Sadly, that is life on this planet.
