Life Through The Eye of my Camera

Stages of the Rose

Every stage is beautiful!

Vibrant Lily

2012-06-19T15:10:00.001-05:00

It has been a bit since I have posted any new photo's here. To be perfectly honest, I need to find the charger for my camera so that I can get back to taking pictures. But, I keep my Iphone handy and have been able to snap a few great pictures from our garden. Today, I am posting our Lily. She was beautiful.

Her colors were so vibrant!

I am not a gardener by any means, I honestly hate to get in there and weed. But, I do admire the beauty of each flower as it blooms in our garden.

As this Blog Changes

2012-01-10T10:40:00.003-06:00

Ok, so sticking to a photo a day is not working for me. I have decided that instead of going for the 365 challenge, I am going to just keep this as a photo blog and show the beautiful photo's that I capture (past, present and future). I look forward to getting some more posts up soon. Chicago has been a bit gloomy as of late and I have not had the urge to take the camera out. Hopefully, the weather will change and maybe we might get some of all that snow that has been predicted for our area. That would make a great subject to photograph, plus document for the next generation.

I do hope everyone will stick with me as my focus changes.

Final Roses of the Season

2011-11-16T15:04:00.001-06:00

Looking at the bottom rose that is
getting ready to open, you would never
guess that it would be so yellow once
it opens it's petal's.

While Driving, Watch for the Moving Trolley

2011-11-11T12:56:00.002-06:00

Another trolley picture that was taken in Memphis,
it was used in my final project for my photography class.
This was taken from my moving vehicle (I was not driving)
and it was headed right for us.

Chicago Firehouse Restaurant

2011-11-07T11:06:00.001-06:00

Anther photo taken for class. This was
originally a working firehouse, built in 1905.
You can read about the history here.

Memphis Trolley

2011-11-04T12:01:00.003-05:00

Again, this is from my photo archives.
Taken December 2010, in Memphis, TN.
I don't know what bridge this goes over,
but right behind us is the Mississippi River.
This was also used in an assignment for class,
object was to catch an object in motion and freeze it.

The Mississippi River

2011-11-03T11:56:00.002-05:00

Another photo from my archives that was
snapped for my class. This was on the Mississippi
River, Dec. 2010. I loved how the boat in the front
takes up majority of the picture and the barge is
minimal in the background.

Pullman Firehouse

2011-11-02T10:13:00.003-05:00

Pullman Firehouse, 1890's-1957
This was another assignment for
my photography class. We had to tell a
story with our pictures. My story was
about the change in architecture of
Chicago Firehouses through the
years. This was one of my favorite
photo's and it was my teacher's favorite as well.

Water Fountain

2011-10-28T13:33:00.002-05:00

Another photo from my archives, this
was taken in the suburbs of Chicago. It
was for a photography class I attended at the
Art Institute. Assignment was to freeze the water.

A Misty Morning

2011-10-27T10:45:00.003-05:00

Photo taken from my archives.
This is the view from my room at the
Hilton in Niagara Falls, Canada in the morning.
I love watching the mist over the Horseshoe Falls.

A Stroll Through The Park

2011-10-22T11:57:00.001-05:00

I have always loved the way that trees can form
a covered bridge over any walkway.

Chicago Skyline

2011-10-20T17:08:00.001-05:00

I also took this photo while visiting
Lincoln Park Zoo
the other day.

Sparring Flamingos at Lincoln Park Zoo

2011-10-19T13:07:00.001-05:00

We spent an hour or so at the

Lincoln Park Zoo last week.

The flamingo's are beautiful, these few were sparring.

They made the oddest of noises, their feathers were getting

ruffled and they were pecking at each other.

In Every Life, There Must Be Color

Fall in Chicago

2011-10-12T16:58:00.000-05:00

I recently won a copy of My Memories Suite and

I thought I would take some time to play with it.

I created this page with some of my recent fall pictures.

This was created with the Funky Fall Album.

Nature, Damaged by Mother Nature

2011-09-23T14:38:00.002-05:00

Damage to the many trees in AL, after the many tornadoes in April.

Walk through the Cemetery

2011-09-16T23:19:00.000-05:00

Afternoon at the cemetery.

I love how the trees create a tunnel over the small road.

Never Forget

2011-09-15T13:29:00.001-05:00

I have been waiting all week to take this picture.

Today is the first day we had any wind to make the flag fly.

Where the stars are, they also have the New York Sky line, not sure if you can see that.

I have not seen this flag in any store, but would love to go and buy on to fly at our house.

Brotherly Love

2011-09-05T21:14:00.003-05:00

Meet Tom & Jerry, two of our three cats. These two were from the same litter.
Nine years later and they still are very close.

Burst of Summer

2011-08-28T20:01:00.002-05:00

I'm back!
It's been busy lately. I do have pictures to share,
I just have not had time to upload them from my camera.

The Art of Mother Nature

2011-08-08T21:27:00.003-05:00

I have no clue what type of flower this is.
This flower is the first one I photographed and got me hooked on taking photo's of flowers.
