Hi Everyone,

I am back! Thanks for all of your support. I have been working hard trying to finish my next novel as well as working on my publishing company. Things are going great. We've singed some fresh and hot new talent and we're excited about them. Our first release "Man Eater by Chasity Ross" will be in stores everywhere Jan 2009. We'd like to thanks everyone for the tremendous support. We've encountered some people who doubt that we'll make it but we are very confident that things will work out just fine! WAITING TO HEAR SOMETHING

So, yesterday I finally had my second interview for the job. It was with a charge nurse on the unit who talked to me for a while and then showed me around the unit and introduced me to a few people. Overall, I think it went well. It didn't actually feel like an interview but more like a mini orientation. So hopefully that's a good sign and it means I got the job. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I called up to human resources this morning and she said she would email them to find out what was the next step and call me back. So, please pray for me and hope that I get this job. I really really need it.

BAD BUSINESS

Hello Friends,
So here I am again venting but about a different situation. BAD BUSINESS. Some of you may think this is too personal but I believe that it may help someone out there so they won't make the same mistake that I did...
I know that we all learn from our mistakes and I have definitely learned from one of my most recent business decisions. Sometimes people talk a good game and make things appear to be much different than in fact they are. I have always had a dream of running my own business related to one of my many talents. Since becoming a published author and learning the tricks of the trade, a publishing company was what I set my sights on. This was my new venture. Being a full time worker, a single mom and having contracts to fullfill I new that I needed help. It was going to be hard to handle all of the day to day tasks and manage my personal life at the same time. So I decided to take on a partner, which at first seemed like a very good choice. Slowly but surely there were signs that this wasn't the right business relationship but I contiued to try and give it another chance and took steps toward starting the business.
Last month, there was a money situation that was the straw that broke the camels back. I decided to end the partnership and pick up a new partner. I was still going to find something for that person to do within the company and publish their novel. I wanted to start fresh, got a new logo, began planning a line-up and handed over the office keys to my new parter.
So if things could get worse with my Ex partner, my office landlord informed me that the check he gave me for last month's rent bounced! Now, I'm pissed. So, I contact my ex-partner and they tell me they don't have it. Like basically saying fuck me. I don't take to that kindly and last month I ended up paying extra money in late fee's because the rent wasn't even given to me on time! So now, I have to pay the amount of the check plus the fee for the bounced check in a week. So you know I'm furious.
Of course the only thing I felt was left to do was to cut all ties with this person all together and I wouldn't dare publish their book. Just like they've said F me I have since said F U 2 and GOOD RIDDENS
All of this is to say, be careful who you do business with because everything that looks good and sounds good isn't good. I should have been wiser with my decision and I am paying for it. I wanted to warn people of situations like this and also say that I am not letting this get me down. I know that the Devil has a way of working and trying to break your spirit but I believe that God will fix it and things will work out for me just fine.
Look out for the Re-Birth of Trendsetters Publications, New Partner, New Look, New Style. I will introduce the world to my staff very soon as well as our new authors!

OK, A LITTLE GOOD NEWS!

Hi Readers,

So today I had my interview to transfer to a new position and she was very impressed. She said I would hear something in a week or two but about an hour after I left they called from human resources and said they wanted me to come back on Monday for a second interview!!!! I am very excited, I believe this is a very good sign that things will turn around for me. So, I'm preparing myself for this interview on Monday. Again, wish me luck!

Why ME?

Hello Readers,

For those who aren't aware I had back surgery at the end of Feb. My recovery was slow but progressing. During this time I was in a car accident and I was angry. I was driving down a two way street. Its a small street so some people don't realize that it isn't a one way. Anyway, I'm driving down the street and a woman is coming out of a parking garage on the right. She stopped at the end of the ramp and I proceeded to drive. Out of now where BAM! She crashed into the back passenger door. I was pissed. Here I hadn't even had the car for a full year and she hits it. To make matters worse we waited on the poilce for a hour and a half and they never showed up. A tow truck driver came a "Wreckchaser" as they call them and gave me his business card. Telling me to bring the car down the next day and they'd fix it and give me a rental.

So, I go down to the collison center and they aren't able to get me in a rental that day so they told me to bring it back the following day. I took it down and Enterprise picked me up. We get to the place and they put me in the smallest car I've ever seen in my life. The car looked like a toy. And of course everyone that saw it had a joke or two or three about how small it was and how good it must be on gas. NOT, people don't realize that just because it's smaller doesn't mean it's better. The tank is smaller so the gas runs out quicker and I had to keep filling it up.

Now, This collison center had my car for over a month. I was so angry that I went to a lawyer to see what my options were. Of course when I told them I'd contacted a lawyer my car was finished in 2 days. I was happy to get the car back but pissed that they hadn't detailed it and every surface including the leather seats was covered with dust and debris.

Everything was fine and then less than a week later someone ran into the back of me so hard that it pushed me into the car in front of me. I didn't even want to get out and look at it. The woman was ver apologetic but that didn't really matter. I knew at this point the car must be BAD LUCK!

Then I had to go through a bunch of drama to get to an adjuster who after having the damage appraised was trying to total my car. Now for those that have car loans you know that you usually owe much more than the car is worth so totalling it wasn't an option since I'd still owe on the loan and would then be without a car. I was frustrated.

So, I found a body shop that wouldn't charge the insurance more than the original appraisal in hidden damages. About two days later they mailed out the check FINALLY! but this isn't the end of my troubles. So I go back to work last week and everything was fine but after a few days my back was hurting BAD. As if it were a month after my surgery. I wasn't complaining though. You see, I wanted to transfer departments and while being out on disability you can't put in a transfer application. So I worked in pain through the holiday and the following weekend.

That Tuesday, the floor coordinator saw me limping and told me to go be re-evaluated by the hopital doctor who in toru said that I couldn't ever work as a nursing assiatant again. OK, I knew that much that was the reason I put in for a transfer the first day back at work. Now, he puts me back out of work and tells me to follow up with my own doctor. This is where it got really messed up. So, I couldn't get workman's comp because it was an outside injury. I couldn't get light duty because my floor director wouldn't allow it to come out of her budget and if I'm back out on disability I can't transfer so in essence they were telling me I didn't have a job! WTF?

So now I was forced to contact everyone I could think of the union delagates, union coordinators, even the director of nursing in administration. I had to contact the benifits department who informed me that my disability could pick back up but I only had 8 weeks left. Again WTF?

After all of this the workman's comp officer called me and said that she'd talked it over with human resources, who I might add ignored my tranfer requests for over a year, agreed to let me apply and interview for positions while I was out. The following day they call me to set up an interview. So tomorrow I have to go and put my best foot forward and get this transfer.

So as you can see this has been a very trying and frustrating time for me. Hopefully things turn around very soon. WISH ME LUCK!

WHEN FRIENDS TURN TO FOES

I had to vent so I felt like my blog was the perfect place to do it. It's a terrible thing when someone you once thought of as a pretty good friend turns on you for no reason at all. I know that we all have our ways and I definitely don't believe that I am an exception to the rule but I know that when I say that someone is my "friend" I mean it. I know that we can't always believe that everyone is in our lives for the good but it's a slap in the face when things like this happens.
I won't get into deatil or yell out any names but the people that I am taking about will know exactly who they are. When problems arise, you definitely have to take a look at yourself to make sure that you aren't the cause of it all and after looking deep I couldn't for the life of me figure out what the problem was. How can I go from talking to someone everyday to not at all? How is it that they are a friend but couldn't even say "Hey how are you?" after you've been sick? The answer to that I believe is that they were never a friend to begin with.

I've had issues with friends but I've always been able to pin-point the problem. This time, I don't have a clue. I mean, is it really worth inquiring? The way I see it people are brought in and out of your life for a reason and if it's meant to be it will be. So, I'm assuming they weren't meant to be in my life long anyway. I'm sure that these ex-freinds will have all kinds of reasons to say that just as they don't call neither do I but It's something more than that and I really don't have the energy to investigate it.

I just wanted to vent to my friends to get some things off of my chest. This isn't intended to offend anyone and if you are reading this wondering if I am talking about you then I guess it's you. Those who are my true friends know that this isn't directed to them in any way shape or form. I love my friends, those who keep it real.
