DFA, Manila still un-organize?

Nagpunta ako ng DFA kanina sa macapagal to get my passport, i was there around 3:00pm. Imagine dinatnan ko mga tao nakapila sa releasing sa labas at sa tirik na tirik na araw. Sobrang pahirap ginagawa ng bagong system sa DFA. Sana nireview muna nila lahat ng maigi ang proseso. Alam naman nila na ang magiging transaction nila ay libo libo araw-araw. Dapat malaki ang space na kinuha dahil sa volume ng tao. Oo. Sa totoo lang bumilis kasi automated na. Pero yung Service Level Agreement hindi naman nasususnod. Sana ginaya nila ang bansang japan. Sa Japan yung mismong Government employee pa mag aasikaso ng mga papeles mo para mapadali. Kanina nag timer ako sa cellphone ko simula ng makaupo ako hanggang makuha ko bago kong passport. Eksakto 2 hours and 14minutes. Yung katabi ko umiiyak naman kasi 7am pa daw sya sa DFA nawala naman ang passport nya hindi daw makita sa loob for release. Tapos sabi ng empleyado ng DFA umuwi na sya at bumalik nalang sa lunes. Ngayon nung kukunin na nung babae yung resibo para ma claim nya pag balik nya sa lunes. Nawala naman yung resibo. Hayyyyy!!!! Sana maayos na ng DFA ang system nila para EveryBody Happy na. Hindi ako nagblog para mang inis o mang asar lang. Gusto ko lang sana maging maayos ang sistema. Eh halos kanina dami naiinis, may nagmumura, may naiyak. Para tuloy magkakaway ang mga tao. Ito pa nung inabutan ko mga tao sa labas na nakapila sa tirik na araw...naisip ko para silang chitcharon hahaha binilad mga tao sa araw...tapos papasukin mo sa sobrang lamig naman tiyak sakit aabutin ng mga tao. Sana ang blogged na ito ay makarating sa pamunuan ng DFA at sa atin bagong Pangulo ng Bansa. Sana ma review ulit ang system at pagkatapos lakihan mga spaces na pag iintayan ng mga tao at damihan ang empleyado ng DFA na magseserve sa mga tao at higit sa lahat masunod sana yung Service Level Agreement o SLA nyo sa mga tao. At maging magalang po.

MUMBAI, India — Social networking site Facebook is opening an operations office in India, its first in Asia, to help manage rapid growth in the number of users

The office, in the southern Indian city of Hyderabad, will have advertising and developer support teams, the company said Monday. It will supplement Facebook's other centers in Palo Alto, California; Dublin, Ireland; and Austin, Texas.

The move is part of a push to create support centers across time zones, with round-the-clock, multi-lingual support, the company said.

"We expect our new office in Hyderabad to tap into the region's strong pool of talented people who understand operations and technology, and help us more effectively serve the needs of our users, advertisers and developers around the world," Don Faul, director of global online operations, said in a statement.

I was alarmed when i read a news from NASA that our Earth Life is Getting Shorter. Almost Everyday there are Earthquake Reported. Dito sa Pinas almost Every Week there are reported small Quakes. Totoo ba yung 2012 na mayan calendar? There are several forum worldwide having this kind of topic. Sa totoo lang hindi naman tayo dapat matakot kasi Earth is design to this...kaso lang marami tayong tanong sa buhay ngayon. Lahat naman ng tao mamatay di ba? Is it true that is EARTH is not yet COOK. MANILA, Philippines – A group of parents torched a school in the central Philippines after complaining their children weren't given the food promised by a government program aimed at boosting school attendance, police said Tuesday.
The gutted walls were all that remained of the one-story Gaib Elementary School in Masbate island province, said provincial police chief Ed Benigay. No one was hurt because the school was empty when it burned down overnight, he said.
"It was done by some disgruntled parents who reportedly got mad at some teachers over perceived discrimination in the school's nourishment program," he said.
He said the parents accused the teachers of not giving their children enough rice. Under the government's "Food for School" program that seeks to encourage school attendance, each student in impoverished areas is supposed to be given 2.2 pounds (a kilogram) of rice every day.
The arson left nearly 150 students aged 5-10 without a classroom, Benigay said, adding that important records also were lost.
Police said no arrests have been made but they will file charges soon.

WASHINGTON (AFP) - – The powerful earthquake that shook Chile on Saturday probably shifted the Earth's axis and made days slightly shorter, a NASA scientist said.
Richard Gross, a research scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California, calculated that the planet's axis would have shifted by eight centimeters (three inches) during the 8.8 magnitude quake, NASA said in a statement.

Earth days are 24 hours long because that's the amount of time it takes the planet to make one full rotation on its axis, so shifting the axis would affect rotation.
If, indeed, the planet's axis did shift by eight centimeters during the Chilean quake, days would have shortened by 1.26 microseconds, Gross calculated. A microsecond is one-millionth of a second, so no need to adjust watches just yet.

The Chilean quake shifted the Earth's axis by even more than the 9.1-magnitude temblor off Indonesia that set off the deadly tsunami in Asia in 2004, Gross worked out.
That's partly because the faultline responsible for the earthquake in Chile "dips into Earth at a slightly steeper angle than does the fault responsible for the 2004 Sumatran earthquake" and is more effective at moving Earth's mass vertically and shifting the planet's axis.
The 2004 quake in Asia caused the Earth to move by around seven centimeters and chopped an estimated 6.8 microseconds off the length of a day, NASA said.

10 Common Mistakes in Backing Up Computer Data

1: Not making system state backups often enough

In Windows environments, system state backups have a shelf life. For domain controllers, the shelf life is equal to the maximum tombstone age (60 days by default). After that, the backup becomes null and void. Even for non domain controllers, the age of the backup is an issue.

Each computer on a Windows network has a corresponding computer account in the Active Directory. Like a user account, the computer account has an associated password. The difference is that the password is assigned, and periodically changed, by Windows. If you try to restore a system state backup that is too old, the computer account password that is stored in the backup will no longer match the password that is bound to the computer account in the Active Directory, so the machine won’t be able to participate in the domain. There are workarounds, but it is usually easier to just make frequent system state backups of your servers.

2: Failing to adequately test backups

We all know that we should test our backups once in a while, but testing often seems to be one of those tasks that either falls by the wayside or that isn’t done thoroughly. Remember that making the backup is only the first step -if you can’t restore from them, you’re dead in the water. You need to ensure that those backups will work if and when you need them.

3: Not using an application-aware backup application

For some applications, a file-level backup is insufficient. A classic example of this is Microsoft Exchange, which requires an Exchange-aware backup application. Failure to use such a backup application causes the data that has been backed up to be in an inconsistent (and often unrestorable) state. It is therefore important to know which applications reside on your servers and to make note of any special application-specific backup requirements.

4: Shipping backup tapes offsite too quickly

One of the companies I used to work for used a courier service to ship backup tapes offsite. Each morning at 8:00, the previous night’s backup tapes were transported to an offsite storage facility. One morning, we had a server failure at about 9:30. Unfortunately, we couldn’t perform an immediate restoration because the tape had been shipped offsite. It was almost 4:00 before the tape could be located and returned to us. By that time, the server had been down all day. While you should keep backups off site, consider waiting until the end of the business day to remove the previous night’s tapes from the building.

5: Having a single point of failure

Always remember that your backups are your safety net. If a server fails, your backups are the primary (and sometimes the only) mechanism for returning the server to a functional state. Because backups are so critically important, you should construct your backup architecture in a way that avoids (at least as much as possible) having a single point of failure. If possible, have a backup for your backups. You never want to find yourself in a situation in which you did not get a backup the night before and you are just praying that the server doesn’t fail that day because you have nothing to fall back on.

6: Forgetting to plan for the future

Years ago, I managed the IT department for a large organization. While I was on vacation, some of my staff decided to surprise me by cleaning out a storage room that had become badly cluttered. In doing so, they threw out some obsolete computer equipment.

While this initially seemed harmless, some of the old equipment was in the storage room for a reason. Each quarter, the organization made a special backup that was kept as a permanent archive. Over time, though, backup technology changed. Although the company had decided at one point to switch to a newer tape format, I had kept the organization’s old tape drives and an old computer that had a copy of the backup software installed on it, just in case we should ever have to read any of the data from an archive tape. The lesson to be learned is that although change is inevitable, you should always make sure that you have the necessary hardware and software to read your oldest backup tapes.

7: Not considering the consequences of using backup security mechanisms

For most organizations, IT security is a high priority. But sometimes, security can be a bad thing. I have seen real-world situations in which a backup could not be restored because nobody knew the password that had been used on the backup tape. I also once saw a situation in which an organization used hardware-level encryption and then upgraded to a new tape drive that didn’t support the previously used encryption (which meant that old backups could not be restored).

There is no denying that it is important to secure your backups, but it is equally important to consider the consequences of your security measures. If you find yourself having to restore a backup after a major system failure, the last thing you need is an ill-conceived security mechanism standing in the way of the recovery.

8: Backing up only data

I once had someone tell me that I should be backing up only my data, as opposed to performing full backups that included the server’s operating system and applications. His rationale was that data-only backups complete more quickly and consume fewer tapes. While these are valid points, I completely disagree with the overall philosophy.

If an organization has a server failure and needs to perform a full recovery, it is usually possible to reinstall the operating system and the applications and then restore any data. However, time is of the essence when trying to recover from a crash. It is much faster to restore everything from backup than it is to manually install an operating system and a set of applications. More important, it is often difficult to manually configure a server so that it matches its pervious configuration. Backing up the entire server ensures that its configuration will be exactly as it was before the crash.

9: Relying solely on a disk-to-disk backup solution

Disk-to-disk backup solutions offer many advantages over traditional tape backups. Even so, a disk-to-disk backup solution should not be an organization’s only backup, because the backup server is prone to the same risks as the servers it protects. A hurricane, lightning strike, fire, or flood could wipe out your backup server along with your other servers. For this reason, it is important to dump the contents of your disk based backups to tape on a frequent basis.

10: Using a tape rotation scheme that’s too short

One organization I worked for used a two-week tape rotation. This seemed to work fairly well, but we found out the hard way that two weeks just weren’t enough. The organization had an Exchange server fail because of corruption within the information store. When we tried to restore a backup, we found that we had backed up corrupt data. The corruption had existed for some time and had grown progressively worse. Every one of the backup tapes contained corrupt data, so the server could not be restored. This is a perfect argument for periodically testing your backups, but it also underscores the importance of using a long rotation scheme or at least keeping some of your backup tapes as long-term archives.

Hi Mga Friends,

i open my radio unit inside my car yesterday habang pauwi ako from work and tune into AM radio program at ang topic nila is regarding sa mga kaso sa partihan sa lupa ng mga magkakapatid. Naisip ko lang kasi sabi sa radio na matagal na pinag-tatalunan sa korte yung lupa at ang magpapartihan ay halos matatanda na. At yung gigil na gigil sa partihan ng lupa ay medyo bata pa. Imagine, kung kamatayan na yun ng mga papartihan ng lupa eh di wala na di ba kasi sa tagal ng kaso (karamihan may sakit na yung magkakapatid na magpapartihan..sana panggamot nalang if mabenta agad yung lupa di ba...at makatulong ng malaki dun sa maiiwan nila sa buhay if ever).

Bigla ko tuloy naisip mga magulang ko sana hindi ganun ang mangyari sa kanila (maliit lang naman na lupa pero naisip ko na baka may biglang mag react sa partihan). Last time i talked to my mom i told her na kung ano man parte ibigay sa kanya tanggapin nya na at ipagpasalamat sa DIYOS. kasi blessing yun at huwag na sya makipagtalo kung maliit o malaki and besides its not our LUPA sa totoo lang. I was shocked nung nakakita ako ng actual single motor vehicle kanina. Grabe! Naipit yung kamay nung motor driver kanina ng isang box type na lancer. Takot ako. Kaya kayo mag-ingat sa pag-dadrive ha.

I am in SM Mall of Asia kanina. There is a good parade sa mall i saw a girl na mukhang suplada (maganda). kahit anong ngiti nung mga nakaksalubong nya hindi sya namamansin. Im standing at the upper part of the building para makita ko buong parade sa North side of the building. "Bigla tuloy pumasok sa isip ko yung sinabi sa akin ng lola ko nung nabubuhay pa sya. Sabi nya sa akin na huwag ako titingin sa panlabas na kaanyuan ng isang babae kundi sa kalooban nito..." Para bang isang nitso ito sabi sa bible na yung panlabas ay pinturado ng puti at napakanda subalit sa loob nito ay may nabubulog na bangkay... Imagine how bible ilustrate this...Kaya tuloy naisip ko na kahit maganda ang isang babae pero kung pangit ang ugali nito baliwala rin. Don't get offended BEAUTIFUL LADIES ha...alam ko naman lahat ng friends ko dito sa tagged ay mababait at magaganda...Anyway, again im going back to baguio this 2am near St. Louis University ako pupunta for a special work assignment. If somebody na taga baguio dito just text me hehehe i-tour nyo naman ako at i-gimick hahaha (kapal talaga ng mukha ko...:) oh pano ill sleep na ako.... hehehehe

SM Malls Wireless Internet (WI-FI) is very strong if you're within reach. I've been in SM Malls all the time.. Kaso may time nawawala connection o napuputol (intermittent connection) How they plan there network kaya?. How much bandwidth its connection (cost) EATING? It's a good thing that SM Malls have this kind of Service. In other countries like Singapore & London...All areas have FREE internet connection. My friend is offering connection in every mall (even not SM) with total capacity of 200 desktops & 200 wireless laptop connected in 1 single 3mbps download & 2mpbs upload ADSL connection. visit www.oncallpcsupport.com. Grabe, if SM Malls are paying big money for its bandwidth connection sayang ang pera hehehe :) The typical MSF is 8,000 or 16,000 a month service. Sana hindi sila nagbabayad ng T1 or E1 connection that will cost Php 50,000 up a month werein they can get 1 ADSL connection then that's it pansit. (ADSL 8k to 16k msf)

If you always watching news I’m absolutely in no doubt that you already know about the massacre in Ampatuan, Maguindanao where the death toll had risen to 57 as of November 25.

My opinion:

Let us compare how they treated Ted Failon as a suspect to his wife's suicide and this.... took them how many days to start charging and arresting people…there’s really a big difference isn’t it?

It’s definitely true what the news televise the other night that if you were an ordinary people who kill someone they immediately put you to jail BUT if you’re an influential person or an allies of the recent government it will take days before they will arrest you and possibly they will not send you to prison…

GMA's administration reminds us of the Marcos regime, so much fear, corruption and extra-judicial killings... So I beg everyone do not vote based on popularity, false hope and charisma... Doing these naturally blinds us of the fact that we should vote solely on a candidate's qualification and more importantly his/her moral character... PLEASE DO NOT PUT another MARCOS or GMA in power for the sake of the future generation...

One more thing, LET US NOT FORGET! Not only should we pursue justice for the victims of the Ampatuan town massacre.

I was very surprise with the issue in Maguindanao Massacre. Malakas na ang Media ngayon sa pinas di tulad noong panahon ni marcos naka black-out ang media noon. Ngayon nalalaman na ang mga nangyayari sa paligid. Kagabi im watching CCTV a Chinese News Network naka report na agad yung mga pangyayari. I don't know bakit nila nagawa yun naka drugs ba sila? Imagine 50 na ang patay sa massacre na yun kahapon na nonood ako ng news puro yun ang laman at balita. Kahit saan even on CNN at Japanese Channel ganun na din. Kung ikaw ang kasama sa Convoy na yun ano mafefeel mo? Caravan of Death na pala...Ganun nalang ba kadali ang buhay ng tao? My dad is a previous marine officer sa pinas he told what is the real situation in mindanao nung panahon ni marcos. Cguro kung walang cellphone at walang media hindi natin malalaman ang nangyayari? 50 lives....Bakit nga ba pag mag namamatay yung suspect hinuhuli agad? dito tumagal pa ng almost a day o weeks pa bago nila hulihin? tama ang sabi sa news if pangkaraniwan tao ang nakapatay huhulihin ka agad pero pag may impluensyang tao ka matagal ka bago hulihin...hayyy! comment ko lang po...kasi nakakapanglambot yung news nung una mong marinig kaya nga "imagine"

Na touch lang ako sa message kasi tama naman yung nakalagay..."Why do we MISS a person?...Its either coz we realize that we never treasured the moments when they were always there, and it left us wishing we could turnback time AGAIN.... or we were too happy with them, we enjoyed every single moment, that we become so used to the idea of havin' them around...but wen we finally walked separate lives we realized that a moment spent without them is...like dying starts which slowly leave the sky empty!!!..." marami sa atin narerealize lang ang isang bagay na mahalaga pala pag wala na sa atin...or even we cry a lot...and say " sayang sana hindi nangyari yun...o pinahalagahaan ko sya nung kami pa at sana kahit maliliit na bagay napahalagahaan ko." buong pag sisi......na iniisip natin ito after few week, after a month, after a years...

Pochero (Spanish spelling , Puchero) with its bounty of meats, sausages and vegetables is known as the “real national dish of Spain. Brought to the shores through the Spanish conquistadores, it is a favorite dish at Filipino festive occasions. With extra ham from the noche buena, the pochero is one way of recycling left-over meats. This recipe is richly flavored by the ham bones and scrap ham simmered with the beef.

Ingredients

1 kilo cubed beef (with some portions of fat)
1/2 kilo leftover ham bones
1/4 kilo scrap ham
8 to 10 cups water or enough to cover meat
4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut in half
4 Saba bananas, peeled, sliced in half
3 pieces chorizo de bilbao sliced diagonally into 2 inch pieces
1 cup chick peas
1 head of cabbage quartered
1 Baguio pechay leaves separated

Procedure

1. Put beef, ham bones, and scrap ham in large casserole.
2. Pour enough water to cover.
3. Bring to a boil, then simmer until beef is almost tender, about 40 minutes
4. Add potatoes and bananas. Simmer until bananas and potatoes are almost tender, about 20 minutes
5. Stir in chorizo de bilbao and chick peas and continue simmering for another 10 minutes.
6. Add cabbage and pechay and let simmer until vegetables are cooked but still firm

My Domestic Flight....

I just notice why most of the traveler in (Philippines) domestic flight mas prefer nila yung CEBU PACIFIC? rather than other carrier like Air Philippines, Asian Spirit and Philippines Airlines..Last two months i have bad experience in flying Philippines Airlines Flight. Imagine we are all set inside the jet kaso the cockpit initiate an alarm regarding the engine. Sana it was check properly before the flight hindi yung kailan nakasakay na yung mga passenger saka palang itetest...I'm sorry to say this..kaya di ako nag tataka bakit mas madami ang nasakay ng CEBU PACIFIC rather other jet. Parang sinagot ko na yung tanong ko dito...hehehehe! What happen to us inside the jet? pinababa ulit kami to transfer in the other jet kasi may problem yung engine talaga ng plane. Imagine you are fying 10,000 to 30,000 feet almost thin air na hahaha. Natakot talaga ako nun. Pero eto pa rin sakay ng pa rin ng plane kahit ano hahaha. Akala nyo namimili pa me. Pero two thumbs up ako sa service ng CEBU PACIFIC...

Significant Date of my Life (Nov 13 & 16, 2009)

This Date Nov 16, 2009 is very important date for aside from the bad date of Nov 13, 2009. Let me start on November 13, 2009 (which they called Friday the 13th) this day is a bad for me. 5:30am of this day when i woke up. It started with the Bathroom Faucet it Got Broke. 7:00am I call the attention of my apartment owner nung masira si Faucet. Then Apartment Owner close the main valve para daw hindi umapaw ang tubig. Nasira naman ang Gate Valve nya. Between 5:30 to 6:30 when i take my shower sa taranta ko nung nasira si valve. Ofcourse, i get my towel and look some hard object na maitatapal ko with the damage water faucet. Pagkuha ko ng Towel ang daming langgam so si dwight nataranta na naman. Hayyyyy! After naman nung nasa office na ako sa ortigas nahulog naman sa elavator yung company id ko. I think co-incident lang ito nung nov 13. Sa date naman ng nov 16. sa next blogged ko medyo mahaba kasi eh hehehe.:) bitin ba? baka pag sinabi ko lahat hindi kana sumubaybay....
