Friday evening, I attended the Listen To Your Mother Show in Philadelphia.

As each speaker read their story, I felt at that moment I was in their shoes, seeing life from their perspective.

What really hit me was how so many of them told stories about their childhood and the things they remembered.

It got me thinking.

What will my children remember about me?

When I was young, my Grandparents lived next door.

I remember my Grandpop used to wait outside for me every single day. As I got off the bus, he would wait with open arms and a big smile.

I remember that Sunday evenings were family night. We would make a big bowl of popcorn, sit by the fire and watch our favorite movies.

My mom would put my hair into curlers as I sat snuggled between her legs.

I remember my Dad taking us to the ball field almost every weekend and we would play together as a family.

So what will my boys remember about me?

I wonder if it will be the nights my hubby works late and I declare it “snuggle night”. They jump in bed with big smiles and sit next to me both laying their heads on my chest.

I breathe in the sweet smell of freshly shampooed hair and stretch my arms around the both of them. We lay together watching tv, until they fall asleep.

Or maybe it will be that I have a special “I love you” sign with both of them.

My six-year-old will often give me the sign through the bus window and I often see my three-year-old give me his sign from the backseat.

It’s something I hope will never end.

Or maybe it will be the nights we go out for ice-cream and race to see who can finish first.

Lately I’ve been decreasing my time online. It’s enough to keep up with clients and sometimes I don’t always have the energy to “blog”. I am trying to live more in the moment and be present.

I always think – in twenty years the Internet will not remember me….but my boys will.

I’m not very fashion savvy so it’s no surprise I started to panicking a few weeks ago about what I should wear to my Girls’ Lunch Out cocktail party on May 18th.

Do I wear a dress? Pants? Heels? What color?

Since I’m the host I want look nice but at the same time comfortable because I know I’ll be running around most of the night.

I always imagined it would be fairly easy to teach my kids to read. Now that my oldest is six, it’s far from it.

We try and sit down every night and do a little reading. Most times he is not interested. He starts getting antsy and guessing the words instead of trying to sound them out.

What I find the most difficult is capturing his attention.

In steps Ruckus Reader.

The report analyzes the amount of time the child spent reading the book, what activities they engaged with the most and then gives feedback to the parent on their progress. It also makes additional reading recommendations.

The books are very interactive and gives them little challenges along the way. My 3 year-old has even shown an interest in the books and loves helping his big brother out.

The stories are captivating, colorful and again interactive. My boys’ favorite is the Transformers Books.
