I am back for the second week linking up to #vlogmoms.

This week’s question comes from Annie @ Mama Dweeb, “What type of jobs did you have in high school and college?”

Now it’s your turn, what are some of the first jobs you’ve had?

In the beginning of my marriage, life was easy.

My husband and I had time to enjoy dinner together, talk about our day and watch our favorite shows while cuddled on the couch.

Our weekends consisted of sleeping in, going out to breakfast, running errands and hanging out with friends in the evenings.

We were spontaneous and I loved that.

Two kids and nine years later,  life is more complicated.

My husband works hard for our family.

Lots of overtime and works two weekends out of the month.

Some weeks, my husband won’t see our boys until Saturday morning.

Most nights I eat dinner with just the boys, while looking over at the empty seat next to me.

I don’t see my husband until about 9 – 10pm each night. As I am heading to bed, he is walking in from work.

It’s hard and stressful at times, but it’s our life.

He never complains and I admire him for that.

I know it’s not easy for him being away from the family all week, working long hours in the outside elements.

But he does it.

I’ve been staying offline most weekends to soak up family time.

It can be as simple as staying in our pjs all day and chasing after the boys.

It’s our time to reconnect as a married couple, as a family.

It’s important to keep that bond of marriage strong.

I’ll be the first to admit, I don’t always do a good job at this.

That’s the reason I started Project Marriage, to help inspire me to focus on my marriage, on the two of us.

Yes, I miss when life was less complicated but I would never change the life I have.

Oh my I’m trying vlogging again.

For a girl that doesn’t like seeing herself on tv, this should be interesting!

I’m joining a group of fabulous woman and we are going to vlog on a different topic/question each week.

On my first attempt, I realized my head was cut off.

So while the kids are wrestling in the background {don’t worry you’ll hear screaming}, I took another stab at doing my vlog.

I can’t slack off the first week.

By now I’m sure you have heard that Google is discontinuing Google Friend Connect.

So what does this mean?

Well, it means if you still want to get updates from your favorite blogs you will need to change the way you subscribe to them.

And if you still have Google Friend Connect on your blog, it’s time to remove it.

Twitter:

Twitter is a good place to continue the conversation and follow your favorite people. I always tweet out my new posts and share other articles and interesting resources I find interesting. For me, this is one of the top ways I read new blog posts. As I see them in my stream, I usually click on the links that grab my attention. This is a great reminder to keep promoting your articles!

This is another great way to get updates. Over the last few months, I’ve been very active on Facebook. I ask daily questions, share interesting things I find and always share links to my new posts. I’m actually a little happy about this switch. I’ve really been using the above methods to stay connected with blogs I enjoy reading. It’s all about timing, so make sure to always promote your new {even archived} blog posts.

Now is a great time to encourage everyone to think about the way you subscribe to blogs and read new articles.
