Iris Season In My Garden

There is something so magical about this time of year in the garden. Just when everything begins to wake up, the irises take center stage—tall, elegant, and full of personality.

This season, my yard has been bursting with different varieties of bearded iris, each one more beautiful than the next. From soft, romantic pastels to rich, dramatic jewel tones, they feel like nature’s own curated collection.

The first to catch my eye were the peach and blush-toned irises, with their ruffled petals and warm, glowing centers. They remind me of a soft sunset—delicate, feminine, and quietly stunning.

Then come the showstoppers—those deep, velvety purples. These blooms feel almost regal, with their rich color and dramatic texture. They add such depth and contrast to the garden, especially when planted alongside lighter shades.

And just when you think you’ve seen it all, the golden and amber irises appear, bringing warmth and a slightly wild, painterly look. Their tones feel sun-kissed and earthy, blending beautifully with the surrounding greenery.

If you’ve ever thought about adding irises to your garden, I can’t recommend them enough. They’re low maintenance, incredibly rewarding, and truly one of the most elegant flowers you can grow. And right now… they’re absolutely stealing the show.

Tucked among everything are my geraniums, quietly doing their part. They add that perfect touch of charm and color, softening the edges and making everything feel a bit more relaxed and cottage-like.

The steps down to the pool. We have roses on each side.

While the irises may be the stars of late spring, my roses are beginning their own performance. Bright pink blooms are opening one by one, adding softness and a classic garden romance.

I love how roses fill in the spaces. Their layered petals and vibrant color create such a lush, full look—like little bursts of joy tucked throughout the garden

Bunnies In The Garden

There is something truly magical about a spring table. As the garden begins to wake up, I find myself drawn to the timeless combination of soft greens and rosy pinks. This year, I wanted my Easter tablescape to feel like a miniature garden party—complete with a picket fence and, of course, a few hopping friends!

I started my table with a White with Pink French Toile tablecloth. Toile is such a classic choice for adding a sense of history and elegance to a room. To keep the look fresh and garden-inspired, I layered vibrant green leaf placemats directly over the toile. This "pattern-on-pattern" approach adds a wonderful depth that mimics the layered look of a real spring garden.
