I just love this islands fine sand quality and this beach especially since it’s our engagement beach. It look different for every year and I wonder how it will look this year after all the stormy weather. Maybe the beaches has gone washed out into the sea.

The most useful feature is that you have the choice to search for a budget stay (boende) with the help of the GPS navigator in your mobile phone, making it very easy to find a hostel nearby where you happen to be at the moment.

Very useful indeed if you ever come to Sweden!

This is a wall that is highly alive, people goes there all the time, either to read or to write upon it. Layers and layers of public messages. The authorities has tried to paint over all the drawings, but somehow it resurrects…

It has become a bit tourist attraction of Prague. A symbol of love and peace - what could be more worth to see…?

Prague Ghostly Dripstone Wall

Just the fact that the wall is dark, makes me think it’s extra ghostly and if taking a closer look at the dripstone wall, you can spot animals and monsters as well as some faces here and there.

The dripstone wall was made by Italians in the 17th century and is located in the Wallensteins garden below the Prague castle. We did not take any more pictures from the garden - the wall took all our attention!

Though we have already seen some of the sculptures by Adrian de Vries in the garden, since they are copies. The Swedish military confiscated them during the 30-years war and the originals are still in the Drottningholm Palace Park in Stockholm.

Feeling the freedom in the picture above? Me too - and the salty sea breeze that always make me feel more alive. The Mediterranean Sea might be my favorite sea so far. So wonderfully bright and clear.

There are so many interesting and beautiful countries around Europe to be explored. Sure, we have been to many of them, but you have to stay for a long time to really get to explore a place so that you feel done with it.

There are Med cruises to many countries, as Croatia, France, Gibraltar, Greece, Israel, Italy, Malta, Montenegro, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey.

What would be your choices of them?

My choices would be:

• Greek islands (unbeatable beauty!)
• Croatia (never been there and it look fab!)
• French Riviera (have been there but not on a cruise)

Greek islands Crete, Mykonos, Kos, Santorini (yes, me too want to experience the whitewashed houses on the cliffs!) and many more. Croatia with Split and Dubrovnik (world heritage site by UNESCO). The Adriatic coast look gorgeous if you look up images on the internet. Say no more.

The French Riviera is really not my option for a cruise in the high season because it so crowded, but in low season I highly recommend it. There is so much to explore that one could go on for ages. So many French medieval villages and Provence markets to enjoy.

Why not the other cruise destinations? Because some of them we’ve already explored enough and the other ones we want to explore more by ourselves and take our time doing it. That is not always possible when on a cruise.

I sometimes feel like cruises not fit us explorer to the fullest. On the other hand, as a very nice change, some days out at the sea could be so very relaxing and re-charging the travel batteries. Yes, it can be pretty exhausting to travel - I’m talking about getting to airports and new hotels on schedule.

Or the opposite to relaxing: getting aboard to party and have a really great time socializing with all the other cruisers with the convenience of not having to use any transportation’s to get home after the party is over.

Be sure to choose a cruise ship with yummy menu’s, since you don’t have the opportunity to choose another restaurant when out at the Med Sea. (Remember our problems to find restaurants abroad?)

Last but not less important: Is it safe to cruise? In my opinion it’s as safe as anything else nowadays, you never know when the accident will happen - and it could as well be when you’re crossing the street. Pay attention to all safety precautions. Be alert. As always.

Yes, we have to be careful, but not overdo it and stop to live!

Despite the fact that this is a very small island, there were a long line with other equally curious people waiting to get a look from the inside and to get up the 24 meter in the top of the lighthouse of course. Many of the visitors also comes from Gotland island.

As you can see the lighthouse (international lighthouse number C 7162) from 1847 is quite small and the view from up there shows mostly the shore of the Baltic Sea and the forest surrounding it.

The Millennium Tour includes several streets and beautiful views of Riddarfjärden in Stockholm City Center as well as the frequent visited (not only by Lisbeth Salander) drinking place Kvarnen - Swedish for “The Mill”.

The tour goes through Södermalm, which earlier was considered to be a lower working class area of Stockholm City, but now is a more blended area with many cool pubs and social places to hang out except for the many wonderful street views and architecture sights.

The first film in the series that was re-done with American actors instead of the Swedish was The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Dec 2011).

The film has scenes from the following specific places around Sweden:

• Drottninggatan, Uppsala county
• Ingarö, Stockholm county
• Kaffebar, Kvarngatan, Södermalm, Stockholm city
• Krukmakargatan, Södermalm, Stockholm city
• Rådhuset, Scheelegatan, Kungsholmen, Stockholm city
• Sankt Paulsgatan, Södermalm, Stockholm city
• Segersta, Hälsingland, Sweden (exteriors)
• Sollefteå, Västernorrland county, Sweden (Hedestad train station)

A budget alternative is to look up the places in the Millennium Stockholm Map and go there by yourself, but then you’ll miss all the goodies the guide have to say…

As you see it’s not only from Stockholm, there are scenes shot from other places in Sweden as well. If you’re thinking of going to the other places in Sweden, Uppsala is the closest to Stockholm which you can reach by the pendeltåg (commuter rail) from Stockholm Central Station. Segersta and Sollefteå are much further away, perhaps too far if not having so much time to spare.

Other locations from the film are shot in are: Oslo/Norway, Zurich/Switzerland, Los Angeles, Paramount Studios in Hollywood and Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, USA.

The Millennium Tour is run by Stockholm City Museum and tickets can be bought either there (Ryssgården at Slussen) or at the Stockholm Tourist Board - or if you have an European VISA or Mastercard at ticnet.se (SEK 120).
