Actually its not! Its just that social networking websites are taking the toll. People, and that includes me, are spending so much of their online hours with facebook than blogging. But who can complain? Its a far more better platform and I don't have to explain further.

Seems a lot of things happening since my last post, very notable of which are the one unfolding beyond our shores. First were the uprising of people/citizen against their leaders/dictators of the countries in the middle east, to name a few, Egypt, Libya, Bahrain and etc. The other significant event is the quake and the tsunami in our neighbor country Japan which later on cause a possible nuclear meltdown from the crippled nuclear power plant damaged by the quake. Thanks God no nuclear meltdown happening up to this date. The alarming thing only was the increase of radiation level beyond safe level for humans.

Earthquake were also devastating in New Zealand and other countries in the Pacific Ring of Fire.

Locally, there so many things transpired but hope to mentioned that in my succeeding post because I'm too sleepy now. Good bye folks..

Im not a blogger!

Damn! its been eternity since the last time I blogged! I have not posted in a while and it seems that this blog is dead for good. Anyway nobody cares for nobody follows this blog and its not clogging the bandwidth at all.

It's really hard to maintain a blog and I envy those who are really into it, hardwork is not really synonymous to my name. Actually the truth is, my confidence is so low in writing that I always doubt my spelling and grammar, so hopefully we could hire a proofreader. Joke!!

Ok! So many things has transpired since I last write about the philippines presidential election, Pnoy won, take the oath and stumble on the Hongkong national's hostage taking, he had a seven minute appearance with Obama and so on..but again October is one night sleep away, its election time again, I mean about the Barangay Captain and SK Election (Village Chieftain and Youth Leaders Election).

September would be over in a matter of hours, the month that opens up the 'ber season, which start-up Philippine's Long Christmas Celebration. October is coming in, and first on the mind is our Fiesta!!!ahem!!!. Time would slip past unnoticedly during this time quarter of the year as many celebration are lined-up making the wait to the Xmas day shorter!

Oh I have to go..i just post this one unedited and sans any review...bye

Presidential Candidate, My Personal Assesment

This article would be updated from time to time until we got to May 10 elections. See, i did not even bother to secure a seat on live broadcast of the game offered by the different establishment here in the city. I have already foreseen how the fight would go and I correctly predicted that it would not be that excited and Clottey would be there mainly to cash in.

Funny thing is that there were so many casual fans who complained of the debacle and so many pirated dvd's went unsold to the detriment of the people behind the piracy business who usually wore big smile after cashing in on all Pacman Fights.

However after all the dust are cleared. All of the Philippines were very happy of the victory and all boxing fans in the world is once again awed by the achievement of Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao (51-3-2). The victor in Pacman.

Random Thoughts for January

Today, is the first time for the year 2010 that I wrote again for my blog. I was really out of this thing for a very long time and has lost my focus and drive to blog. Blogging was demoted to the least of my priority, nevertheless I would try to visit and update the blog whenever I'm free.

First agenda today was for me to share some observation regarding politics, election is just a few months away and this must be a hot topic. In the forefront of contention is Noynoy Aquino and Manny Villar. Aquino pushing hard to maintain his momentum while Villar is catching up by bombarding the mass media by taking a lot of TV and radio airtime and using all the tricks in advertisement to improve his chances without worries on cost. I'm pretty sure this would be the story of the 2010 presidential election.

Besides the two leading candidate Erap is making his own fight struggling to eliminate legal obstacles. Other candidates are their to keep our ballots long enough, LOL. Forget Gibo(though my better half would move heaven and earth to disagree with me).

Between the two leading candidates, I am forced to pick Aquino, considering that I find Aquino the more trustworthy in leading the country. Villar is so soaked with controversy that his phrases that he would not steal from government coffers because his rich already was so clouded with obscurity and shades of falsehood.

Anyway campaign season is not yet on the full swing, things are just starting to heat up, so until then........

Cory Aquino, My Personal Perspective

The airwaves is abuzzz with news about Corazon Aquino, our former president. All sung praises to her and critics are laid to a deafening silence, a very precendeted turn of event knowing how our culture as Filipinos respect the dead!

I am a Filipino and I practically grew up with the reign of Cory's presidency. I could still remember how the price of rice soar up during her administration. I have memory flashes on th series of coup attempt still lingers fresh in my mind as i saw it in TV and on my fathers newspaper and magazines(of course not escaping the controversy that philstar was gotten sued for-the under the bed issue thing, lol). The country's economy then must have been at its lowest, we are so poor then to feel the difference anyway.

I admit I'm not all sold out to the legacy of the late Cory. Marcos is due for downfall in the middle of 1980's that I could say that Cory was just lucky to be at the right place and at the right time to claim credit for restoring democracy in the country. As we know, Marcos is already bedridden during those time, and by all possibility power struggle between powerful forces within his administration (including the so called, cronies) is very immenent that would weaken their hold of power. Mr. Ramos and Sen. Enrile, the winning faction in that divisiveness are the expected to bolt out because they are third or fourth in line in getting the dough. Thats why also we can raise our eyebrows in this two so called gentlemen. Though I admit they still deserve recognition for their effort, and recognition is already served to them for gaining presidency and getting the top dog at the senate and numerous other prizes they have after their victory.

The thing that is positive to Cory though was that his integrity and corruption free records is a standard that no other politician of recent memory can equal. She is a standard in clean governance that we can only wish for considering the line-up of politician that we have now. But on the negative side, I believe in terms of running the economy, Cory is not prepared and was a failure in economic management aspect.

I hope that in the future we can have a Cory kind of integrity in the presidency but with a GMA mind and skill for running the economy and the presidency.

2010 Election & Charter Change

The election years is fast approaching. We can smell politics nowadays wherever we found ourself in. Most notable are the early tv ads of known to be aspiring candidates. Politics has already pollute the airwaves this early. This is politics in the Philippines, I was practically born with the scenario and has grown up with it. How bad!

I like to boycott these politicians, who played with our election law by showing themselves on Ads this early which in essence should have violated our fair election law, but nobody would be left if we do that. Everybody rides with the flows and goes with the ebb. Anyway as always, I just cast my ballot with a lot of blanks or in the worst of things I'll just stay at home and enjoy the holiday due to the election. Funny!

Another thing I would like to opine about is the thing that congress is pursuing now, and that is to amend the constitution through a congressional assembly. The lower house is squambling with the senate on how should they vote, be it separately or as one body - congress and senate combined. This is somehow hillarious, because even with the brilliant mind, unquestionable effort and sincerity of our constitutionalist, they failed on this matter to clearly rule on the matter. Anyway, despite no clearcut provision on the constitution on the matter, having taken up my PolSci 1 (Phil. Constitution) I would lean on the belief that they should vote separately then take the average. On the grounds that they are intended to be a bicameral body.

What I do not like though are protesters, hope they would be enlighten and stop filling the street with garbage streamers and garbage minds and ideologies (ouch!! that hurts). I know they have their motives, but I mean to topple the government when they cannot offer a better replacement is insane. Can you imagine if this people are the one in power? For sure expect the worst! Hope they would just join the productive people of this country and contribute to our GDP. Even they would just plant at their backyards instead of protesting, I know they could contribute. I am not saying, that we citizen should not be proactive and vigilant, but hello, theres proper time to it, and what I can see is that this people are doing this too often, that make me thinks this must be their livelihood and means of income. Stop all these things, anyway its the people who elected this crocs and that its just fair that they be given some leeway and prove themselves. After all if they are not good, then the people deserve them!!!!!

Legacy Fiasco and their Rural Bank's Closure, an observation

Issues hounding the Legacy Group and their Rural Banks much heralded bank holidays, was in the media frenzy the past several days. The media banking on this issues to get more ratings portrayed a scenario as this one below.

1. Depositors/Investors/Plan Holders - They are all portrayed as the VICTIM. OMG!!! Thats not really it.
2. Government - This refers to the SEC, Insurance Commission, Central Bank etc.. as NOT DOING SOMETHING perhaps more civilly NOT DOING ENOUGH. Mind you that might be true.
3. Owner of Legacy Group - media portrayed them as swindler, thieft, oportunist etc. etc. OMG, media is suppose to be in between, not a judge.

OK, thats how i see it. In the name of money (instead of service as bragged by several media outfit) the media really got a good scope in here enough to attract ads.

COMMENT FOR # 1 In my opinion however it should not be generalized and interpreted as that. This depositor/Investor/Plan Holders put their money knowing that whatever happens and whatever the case a risk, a posibility of losing their hard-earned money is really present, no matter how low, but a risk is risk and you cannot discount it happening in any eventualities. How much more, as report said that they are enticed to invest due to a promised high yield (double your money scheme as such). Knowing market forces, if you invest on high yield portfolio, am sure your exposing to a higher risk, I repeat higher risk.

So its not fair, the poor Juan Dela Cruz would be made to pay the Investment Loss of Juan Tamad. I mean its not just fair, that government funds be requested to bail out the Legacy Group or as such be used to pay the Legacy Investor and plan Holder. Let this losses be a lesson learned by those greedy investory who want to increase their wealth by just lying in the porches of thier comfortable homes.

COMMENT FOR NO. 2 A lot of times really, government just take a nap. They are not proactive at ll times. But who should we blame? A good question. We should blame ourselves, we should take fingers at ourselves. We deserve a government like this if we continue to be like today.

COMMENT FOR NO. 3 DE LOS ANGELES, is the punisher, disguised in Evil. Good work Sir, for you have deliver the lesson deserve to those who are greedy and opportunistic. People like you, no matter how bad the act is, have a complimentary good things done at the same time. However, I understand there were innocents who are not spared of the onslaught. Its awful, but things like that do really happen. To remember, during the many wars on the face of earth, a lot of innocent suffered. Biblically, during Noah's time it is presumed a lot suffered also and a few inncents only are spared from the acts of God. I wonder if the new Judas is here, he had done bad for a very devine thing. The salvation of mankind could have not be done by Jesus alone, thanks to Judas, It was done!!

To this end, I was amazed how I write today (no proofreading though) because this is not my usual opinion. I wonder if I am acting devils advocate now, but I believe, Im just stress by my work that why I produced this article. He has disgraced the Cebuano’s for his ill-advised comments. I just can’t imagine the true character of this person. I just don’t understand how come they are campaigning for TRUTH as they themselves would out rightly branded people on the opposing end without bothering to seek for the simple truth. Again, Jun Losada and company doesn’t deserve an iota of our accolade after all.

Jun Losada allows himself to be used by the opposition. These opposition personalities is not interested at all to TRUTH, they are instead having an eye on the President's seat. They happen to include a lot of our senators who want nothing but a grand standing in the Media. These opposition people want Jun Losada to roam around the campus to invite some easy to be fooled YOUTH. They are thinking of igniting the flame in the YOUTH’s inner self for them to join and lead the popular uprising. They are wise enough now as based on their experience, if they are the one seen leading the masses on the street, it could never trample the same DOG of their own breed who happens to take hold of the loot as of the moment.

Hope Filipino people learn…. If all Filipino’s would just think like Cebuanos we should have been better than now!

Windows Vista

What Operating System Do You Use?

Some would proudly say they are using Mac OS, others are using the powerful but free Linux Operating Software but a majority of us that by DEFAULT/choice/necessity we are using Microsoft's Windows Operating Software.

This topic is really about the new(not so new) Windows Vista from Microsoft. Its been already about one year and three months that this OS was commercially available since its release last January 30, 2007. I personally, was using this OS (photo above) for quiete almost a year already together with the Microsoft Office 2007.

Recalling then, there are so many reviews about the product, negative or otherwise. Commercially the product was being hype up and demands as well as needs are being created by their marketing professionals. Currently, the release of the Service Pack was the talk of the town together with the new DirectX, the DX10.1. This DX 10.1 created wave also because it requires new Graphics Card, Nvdia and ATI happily provided the requirement as this development turns to their favor.

Rodolfo Losada Jr. in Cebu!!!

How does it sound to you we you hear the name Losada?

How do Cebuano's regarded the familiar name of Losada?

These are the very question in my mind whenever I watch the dramatics and antics of these controversial senate witness. The dry smile and very itchy tears when he cry like a toddler. Forgive me for my comments, but that's how I describe his Oscar's performance of moments in front of the enterprising cameras of the Media(but with bias).

I believe in the search for the truth. I admire people who comes out in the open to tell the truth no matter what. I look up with great respect those who are in power who exert effort to uncover and expose the skeleton in the government's closet. Indeed, I'm just with what ordinary Filipino's are for! "Wanting to know the truth"

How do I know Jun Losada? Like everybody else, I know more and more about him because of the Senate Inquiry. By following the story in the print and broadcast it seems that we know him enough to give an opinion.

My Opinion!

CHARACTER: I believe Jun Losada is not at all worthy of praises and accolades. Why? because I feel that he just speaks out because he is afraid of his life. During the time when everything is still in his favor he doesnt sung the People Power's theme. He refuse to go to the senate, but when he feels he is in danger he jumps ship and hide behind the nuns uniform. He is a coward. Now, just like what he did in Manila, he's here in Cebu begging for our support. He is a trying hard to be a credible witness. HE IS JUST NOTHING BUT LIKE THE ORDINARY DOGS OF ARROYO'S GOVERNMENT. THE EXCEPTION IS.. HE IS IN THE OTHER SIDE JUST LIKE THE FORMER HOUSE SPEAKER JDV.

HIS EXPOSE: Though he speaks of against corruption, I am not satisfied with him. His testimony is worth nothing to me because he lacks direct knowledge. He is not the right person to talk about corruption because what he bring to the table could not even stand when measured against the standard imposed by our court of law on matters of evidence.

With this I believe he should not be called as the star witness!

Im now Syncronized!

I was fortunately able to sync up my Microsoft Office 2007 to my blog! While Channel 2 was able to show a very clear and vivid video footage of scene that clearly cover the events, the inferior GMA Channel 7 technology show only on national television(primetime) a blurred and useless video that I suppose is taken by a cellphone camera and boastfully marked it with "through 3G network". The video was so damn blurred that make it useless and iritating to the eye of the viewing public. Did GMA executive like it? Oh, my advise to GMA is to get back to the drawing board and stop claiming the top spot in news and media affairs rankings.

On the next coverage, GMA could only manage to show 1 still photo of a bombing victim and repeatedly zoom in and out while their reporter are delivering a pure audio report. Worst, because the said picture is worst than an amateur photo, it is not crisp and clear and the noise in the picture was so damn too many, I think its a camera phone again with resolution that I think is below the 2 megapixels and the lack of light contributed to its quality. I'm telling myself, is this a television network? or an ordinary radio station? The year is 2007 and this (GMA) television network could only manage is an audio report? Oh my Gosh! wheres the advertisement money for you to pay people and obtain the right television technology! Common, lay people today even own a camera, a digital one and majority of ordinary folks own a camera phone.

Thats not all, GMA's sister station, QTV also reported through audio and when they interviewed the house speaker, the audio communication was so poor, that the house speaker always complained that he could not hear the anchor of the news program. They could not even delivered the video footage, worst, they could not provide good audio quality. What a jurassic age technology this Television Network had? Then outrightly claimed that they have the best media outfit? What a shame! Indeed!

Im not an ABS-CBN fun and Im not into the network war. But having an interest in national events, I was so disappointed by the news channels' (GMA) coverage. They better of stop claiming the best and number 1.

Correct me if I'm wrong folks!!!!!!

Earthquake in Cebu City, Philippines

I felt the tremor under my feet and saw the table wave left and right but didn't give it a big damn, it was 12:30 noon November 7, 2007. My officemates did notice it too and opined that its an earthquake. And so it is! We stopped at our feet and try to feel the aftershocks, the room is silent and everybody is becoming to be vigilant if what would happen next. But that was it, nothing terribe happen, (thanks God!) life continues and goes on! Everybody was amazed with the experience and having fun and good conversation on it.

What could had happen to the rest of the area hit by the earthquake? Where is the epicenter? What was the reading in the richter scale? What are the damages? Are they any tsunami coming? Is there still an aftershock looming to come? All and all of that are the questions that have to be answered later....time will tell.

For the moment, this is your friend reporting live from Cebu City, Philippines.
